[Q] [help] Phone is constantly vibrating even when off - ONE Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

My phone just arrived. I've plugged it in to make sure it's alive, it stated low battery so I've unplugged it and moved elsewhere. Now ever since I plugged it back in, it vibrates, constantly. It even plays vibrates over the top of it's constant buzz. It operates perfectly fine otherwise, it boots and I've set up my google account. Just curious if there was a way to solve this besides waiting out the battery.
Edit: smothering the power button to force it to turn off, even when it refuses to turn on due to lack of battery or even show anything on screen does stop the vibration. Guess it's a faulty device or something :/ *sigh*
Turns out that as soon as it vibrates it continuously vibrates at a low mode forever. So it can be fine until you plug in a charger, or receive a notification, then it's back to perma vibrate.

HTC Dash Crashing

My friend recently gave me an HTC Dash for T-Mobile. It's running WM6.1 Kavana's ROM 1.33.424.2. After he gave it to me I unlocked for AT&T completely, 100% legally. I called T-Mobile and they gave me the unlock code.
But since I've been using it it will randomly turn off. It seems to shut off more often using MMS or anything through the Internet, but it will also turn off just sitting in my pocket or while texting. Luckily it hasn't ever crashed during a call.
When I try to turn it back on it will either shut down before fully turning on (it will show the boot screen but turn off), it will turn on but say the battery is dangerously low and it needs to be shut down, or one time it had an error message saying "The device could not be started due to sudden loss of power. Click YES to continue or NO to shut down. Please be sure the device is completely shut down before removing the battery." If you click YES it shuts down. If you click NO the screen turns white then tries to start up a few seconds later and fails.
The way I stop this is plug it in to a charger and turn it on so it can't die. It says the battery is low but since its plugged in it won't turn off. Then once it turns on I turn it off normally by tapping the power button and selecting Power Off. Then I take out the battery, put the battery back in, turn the phone on, and then the battery is back to the power level it was before the crash and the phone works fine again. But any texts or calls I had made in the past few minutes are erased as if they hadn't been made, sent, or received.
I've already tried a few hard resets and it doesn't seem to work. I even downgraded to WM6. I just want to know if this is a software problem, a battery problem, a hardware problem, or something else. Thank you to anyone that can help.
Welcome to the forum
I assume that your battery is working ok right?

[Q] Can't see anything on display

WARNING: not a native english speaker.
when I try to start the phone the following occur:
the display light turns on, shortly after that the phone emits that startup vibration, the backlight remains on for aprox. 85 seconds then the phone aparently shuts down. that meant, the backlight of the display turns off.
problem history:
I was at work and as usual i was listenin to music via handsfree. while my phone was in poket it seemed that somehow my poket pressed the sleep button and turned the screen up. no prob here. i got the phone out of ma poket. reverted the volume @ maximum and then locked the phone and turned the screen off and putted back in pocket. after some time i wanted to change the song. got out the phone, turned on the screen but nothink apeared except a horizontal line in the middle of the screen. I tried to shut down/up the screen but nothink apeared. after a couple of tries the screen turn on but it was unusual what i saw on it. I saw a sketch of the energy rom home screen with diferent colors.
Meantime i was tryng to get the screen outta sleep the music still played in the phones.
I thaugt that a reset will do but it didn't. got out the battery and got home. reasembled it, powerd up the phone and voila! the phone started up normaly. got out the battery, introduced the sim card. powerer up the phone but bad luck. the happiness was short lived. the problem camed back. another thing i noticed is that when i powwer on the phone i let it on but it wont output that energy rom bootup sound.
Can someone elude me with whats the problem with my phone?
hope I was clear enough!
Have a great day/night!
UPDATE: LEFT IT OVERNIGHT WITHOUT THE BATTERY AND NOW ASSEMBLED BACK. IT'S WORKING BUT I THINK IF I GIVE A RESTART THE problem will come back.

[Q] Phone turned of and not turning on again

I Think that its the power button that is stuck but im not sure
My phone started going crazy, when I turned it on, it was going to the HTC logo and then turned off (After about 3-4 seconds, Not showing CyanogenMod logo.)
and when I managed to turn it on (Remove the sim-card and turn it on normally) it worked, and when I inserted the simcard the phone got stuck and disconnected.
I Cleaned the simcard (Rubbed it against my pants..) and the phone worked for about 30-60 minutes, not sure.
After that 30-60 minutes, i saw the screen turned on showing the lock screen, then it asked me if i want to power-off or reboot, i pressed the back key.
And the phone turned off.
Since then i cant even turn it on..
And when i plug in the power adapter, no LED going on.
so i disassembled it, And disconnected the battery, and when i connected the battery again the phone turned on as if i am pressing the power button showing the htc logo and then turning off again..
and i cant turn it on..
SORRY for the long story..
I Checked (Using a multimeter) And the problem is not withing the power button or the battery (Battery gives out 2.9 volts instead of 3.7 as written but its because low battery..)
Still the phone wont charge

Random power-off

So I had something interesting happen this morning. I was listening to a podcast app through Bluetooth. I wanted to pause, so I flipped open my case, the screen turned on, and when I pressed the home button (oops I meant to just rest my finger on it. Still getting used to that) my phone...turned off.
Despite the title, I would say it didn't power off. It was like pulling the battery. Screen just turned off and I couldn't get it back on. Pressing and holding the power button didn't do anything. I was unable to do anything until I plugged my phone in. Then the battery charging indicator came on the screen. It was at 93%. I unplugged, and then when I held the power button it booted right up.
I have no idea why it did this. I doubt it was an app issue, since I couldn't get the phone to power up. Anyone else had something like this happen? Other than this I've had zero issues with the phone. I've left it at stock, unrooted.

Nope. Just tried to repeat it, and no issue

Moto g 2nd generation display turns off

When I start my Moto G2 (XT1038) from cold, the entire boot animation plays and the home screen shows and the phone works fine. The moment the phone is locked and I press the power button to turn the screen on and entire my pin, the area near the microphone heats up rapidly to a point where I can not touch the spot for more than a few seconds. The screen stays blank though. After a few minutes of inactivity the area cools down. But if I try to turn the screen on the same thing happens. Meanwhile, I can hear the alarms I have set in my phone, go off at designated times, can hear the incoming phone call rings, SMS / message notifications, etc. But cannot get the screen to come on after the initial bootup. Can not turn off the phone either, same thing happens. Battery lasts as usual. No heating issues while charging. Any ideas why this might be happening? It is running Marshmellow at the moment, and the update happened many weeks before this issue. Auto-updates are turned off.
Not sure if I need to replace the display or battery or some other hardware.
