I have looked around on this topic before posting, but nothing applies to what im experiencing
Up until this morning, I haven't had a single issue with my USB port or charging in general.
I clean flashed Purity KitKat, flashed compatible Uber kernel and installed my apps as one usually do, and let the phone charge for a while. A few hours later, I realized my battery was at 0%. I started panicking, looking for a USB replacement part, which I found for about $12 on Amazon. I decided I would download GSAM battery monitor to see if there was an issue with my charging cable.
What I saw was the mA flow was acting erratic, sometimes shooting from -700ma (yes, that's negative 700) all the way up to 1800mA. Even by just rotating the screen, it would drop instantly. . The phone charges, but a little at a time. I disabled KSM and fast charge which seemed to have a positive effect.
I'm not sure what caused this, or how to fix it, but I've attached a couple pictures to give you an idea of what I'm seeing. If it is in fact the USB port, would using a Qi charger be a good option or should I just go ahead and dismantle the phone and replace the USB port?
Note: windows still recognizes the phone and I can send files from the computer, and the charging bolt is showing.
Have you replaced the cable? Far more common for the cable to crap out then the port. Cheap or broken cables will appear to work, computer will detect phone and even display a charging indicator but it won't actually charge. Had happened to me in the past.

Yeah I've tried numerous chargers including my car charger. They all charge, but it took 12 hrs from 0 to 100

Try flashing the stock rom to rule that variable out. If you want to be sure that is the usb port you could try with a wireless charger as it could also be the battery, you can find a new one at the same price range of the port.
It does seems a lot like what happened when both the stock charger and the cable were damaged. I tried to charge the phone and when disconnected it had less charge.
I have an S7 and the Samsung Fast Charge Wireless pad.
It has been working for a couple of months, and now suddenly it will not charge.
When I put my S7 on the pad it initially starts to charge, and then I get a message saying "Wireless Charging Paused" with a blue flashing LED.
I have googled around and for the S6 people mentioned that putting the phone in "daydream mode" fixes this problem, but I dont have this option on the S7.
Has anyone encountered/solved this issue?
For anyone else having this issue...
I googled around and tried 10 different suggestions, none of which worked. A lot of people seem to be having this type of issue.
Then, I unplugged the USB cable from my wireless pad, waited a few seconds and plugged in again. VOILA. That worked.
Sometimes the answers are so simple....
I also have a Samsung Fast Charge Wireless stand with the Samsung fast charge wall charger and cable that it came with, and a Galaxy S7 Edge. I have never had this issue before, but since upgrading to Nougat a couple of weeks ago this seems to be happening frequently (wireless charging paused). I tried removing the slim case (which I never had to before), rebooting the phone, vertical or horizontal, and it had no impact. I also found that unplugging the wireless dock and then back in again fixed the issue. I don't have this issue with the older non-fast Samsung wireless charging pad (small square one). I am guessing there is some new battery/charging protection in Nougat that is a bit buggy and causing the stand to wig out until unplugged.
This happens to me and is why Smasung makes the worse wireless chargers ever. Won't ever go near a Samsung charger again. I bought a new and cheaper third party wireless fast charger and it charges every time with no charging paused issue, so there's obviously quality control issues with Samsung chargers and they never seem to fix the issue. People need to save their money and buy anything but a Samsung charger
Wireless Charging of Samsung 6 edge+
I got a Samsung wireless charger a year or so ago and at first it worked fine. After a while I got tired of walking across my office every time the phone rang. I moved the wireless charger from the Samsung wall charger to a USB port sharing device on the computer. Admittedly I never looked at the notification on the phone when it chimed, I assumed it was charging whenever it chimed. It took a while (I must be slow) but I started noticing that the phone was not always (or perhaps ever) charging. However, It also didn't seem like it was chiming each time I put the phone on the wireless charger, like I wasn't putting the phone exactly where it needed to be. When I moved the USB plug around in the socket, the power chime was going off and on. Even when it gave the chime indication that it was properly receiving power, I (finally) noticed the phone showed "Charging Paused". I assumed it was due to a plug problem on the adapter. To solve that problem I moved the USB cord to a direct port on the computer but kept getting the "charging paused" message. Out of frustration, I moved the wireless charger back to the Samsung wall charger. Immediately the phone chimed and indicated that it was charging normally. So perhaps the power from the USB port is not high enough to consistently charge the phone through the wireless charger?
Solved
I had this same issue with my Samsung wireless charger.
For anyone having the issue, here is the solution that worked for me.

Has Google made a recent change in Android 9 that addresses the reported Pixel charging issues? I ask because, up to today, my Pixel 2 has always displayed Charging rapidly when plugged into the USB ports on my '18 Subaru Outback (I've been on Android 9 since the initial release). But today, it came up displaying just Charging. I tried both USB ports and two known-good cables with no luck. Back at home, it still shows rapid charging with the OEM charger and off of a USB 3.0 port on my PC.
Is this possibly a case of Google fixing one thing and breaking another? It seems strange that something would fail in the car that would affect how rapidly it charges. I have no idea what charging standard is being used.
I have a T-Mobile OnePlus 7 Pro that I converted to the international firmware and recently got Android 10. Everything has mostly been good except since the upgrade I've noticed that a lot of the power adapters I have around the house just aren't charging the device. I'll plug my phone in and the battery icon will show a charging symbol, but the lock screen won't show that it's charging. Curiously, I have my phone set to display a clock as a screensaver only when charging, and that will activate when plugged in, so the phone definitely thinks it's charging. Two of the chargers were from my old Pixel 2 XL, and over the weekend I bought a third, brand new charger that initially seemed to work but I woke up this morning and my phone hadn't charged at all. Tried multiple outlets in the house and it's the same story. I have the Warp Charger at my desk at work and haven't had any issues with that.
Has anyone else experienced this?

I am experiencing this too. As are a few others on the OP Community forums. If you look into the battery settings it will say "plugged in- can't charge" or something like that. With the USB plugged in and rebooting the device it will start charging. Others have said a roll-back to Pie will fix the issue, but other than that no solution yet. I think the issue has been more with alternative cables. Using the stock brick and cable should work still.
I am having the same issue. My MacBook and pixel chargers used to charge my phone but as the person above mentioned now says my phone is plugged in and unable to charge. So it essentially maintains the phone at the same percentage indefinitely.
Using the original OnePlus charger works. I'm assuming this is a bug OnePlus needs to work out with Android 10 as this wasn't the case with Pie.
I'm in the same boat. It's driving me NUTS. The same USB C cables worked just fine on Pie. Now it's almost every single time I plug my phone in it says "Plugged in, but can't charge" or something like that.
Here how I fixed the problem on my Oneplus 7 pro running android 10
Same thing happened to me. It was very annoying, so I test many usb cables. I found out that the issue is with the usb cables not from the charger.
So I enabled developer options, and I went to the debugging section and I enabled USB debugging option. And all the USB cables started working and my phone started charging ?.
I turned off the USB debugging and it's still charging.
Hope this method will work with you guys.
I had assumed it had something to do with Android 10's new features regarding USB security and preventing USB based attacks and exploits, but I figured that Android would show some notification about it being turned on whenever USB was plugged in. At least I know I'm not alone in this, I was scared my phone might have been going bad.
Hello friends
Nearly 1 month before, my phone started showing "Charging" when I connected the charger to my phone, instead of "Fast Charging". There was issue of connectivity with my laptop also. My phone was sometimes detected on my laptop, and sometimes not. I tried with another 18W charger, as well as with another 3Ampere Data Cable. But it always showed "Charging" only.
I went to Asus service center, where they also couldn't find what the problem was, and told me to deposit my phone with them. I instead of giving them my phone, went home and did a Factory Reset.
Afterwards the problem was gone, and it always showed "Fast Charging" when I connected my phone with charger.
Now since yesterday, again this issue is there. But this time it's little bit different. After connecting charger, phone shows "Charging" for about 1 minute, then starts showing "Fast Charging", but there is only 1 Plus in the battery icon in the status bar. And this thing does not happen every time. Sometimes, it shows "Charging" only, and not fast charging at all.
I have tried cleaning the Type-C port of phone as well as Data Cable, tried changing the cable used for charging the phone, tried changing the charger, but still no luck. I again did a factory reset, but this time it didn't solve my problem.
When I searched Fast Charging Problem Asus on google.com, it showed that there was similar problem in Asus Zenfone 5Z.
Has anyone facing this problem? Or if anyone knows how to solve this?
I don't want to get my 2 months old phone opened by service center at all.
See the battery icon in this screenshot..
It seems like a hardware problem. No such reports on Zentalk.

I noticed in your screenshot you have VoLTE.
That is not supposed to be possible according to Asus?

There's a "+" in the icon, so it's fast charging, just not as fast as "++". When fast charging isn't working, there is no "+" in the battery icon**.
In my case, I can only get the two "++" with the Asus original charger as all other chargers I have don't charge fast enough.
If you're having problems, you should do what they told you at the service centre.
(** It takes a few seconds for Quick Charge to enable, so you won't see the icon right away)
Yes, I am getting single plus icon in battery after about 30 seconds of connecting the charger. Previously it used to be double plus. Now since last 3-4 days, it is single plus, and charging is also quite slow. And yes it shows Fast Charging, but with single plus. When the problem started, there was just Charging, no Fast Charging. Now Fast Charging is there, but with reduced speed than before, and with single plus.
This is Indian version of Asus 6Z. Here it comes with Volte option.

Not really helpful but I'm having the EXACT same problem. Only in my case it stopped working completely, even after a factory reset.
This started on Android 9 and after the update to Android 10 it was fixed! Until I rebooted my phone and now the same problem occurs. Everything you tried, I tried too and nothing seems to work.
I hope you'll have better luck than me solving this issue, because for there only seems to be one option left and that's to send it to Asus repair centre.
I'm pretty bummed out especially because I have the 30 edition. It was naive of me to think they'd actually put extra care in this version of the ZenFone. I'm utterly disappointed and not looking forward to having this phone opened.
If you're using a 3rd party cable, try using one that came with your phone.
Before upgrading to Android 10, I was using a 3rd party cable and was getting fast charge. After the Android 10 update, however, fast charge stopped working. Once I swapped back to the cable that came with the phone, fast charge started working again.
So if you'reusing a 3rd party cable, trying using the one that came with your phone and see if fast charge starts working again.
I have tried various combinations like:
1. Default wire and default 18W charger
2. Default wire and other 18W charger
3. 3A Wire (1metre) and default 18W charger
4. 3A Wire and other 18W charger.
Tried everything, but sometimes just CHARGING, sometimes FAST CHARGING with Single Plus, and sometimes FAST CHARGING with Double plus.
From the above, it is clear that it is not at all hardware problem, because otherwise the phone wouldn't charge at all, or wouldn't show Fast Charging with some wire, and just Charging with another.
Everything depends on the current battery charge percentage.. @ 30% my phone charged at the speed of 3020MA unti 60% then dropped to 2500, then at 80% it was about 1100 MA and once around 90% i saw 650MA.. all readings using Ampere app on playstore..
Even I am facing the same problem with 6z I have the original charger but now it doesn't shows fast charge. And sometimes it takes more than 6 hours to charge the device from 15-20% to 100%. There no + or ++ sign on battery icon. Started happening after the latest update.
I have same Fast Charging issue with Asus 6z mobile. Is there any solution for this problem.
Not because of connector...
Guys, i had the same problem, won't connect to computer and won't fast charge, just one plus slow charge, i also thought it was just because there was dust in my charger or in my phone usb port, i cleaned as i could and tried, same experience, it worsened as time passed, as time passed i couldn't charge my phone anymore, charging cable connector was a little wiggly inside my charging port, so i had to adjust my cable somehow to just get charging, i also couldn't get an exact reason for the problem, so i went on with the burden, one day my phone just shut down when it was on 10 percentage battery, i was very afraid to take it to service center as my brother had bad experiences from various authorised and local service center, but one day my phone fell from hand and just won't turn on, it vibrates and it shows the off mode charging symbol for one second and goes, just nothing else, so i was confused with what was the problem whether it was with the sub board(charging port), battery or mother board. Anyways i had to take it to a service center, so atlast i took it service center and they had to send it to somewhere else to diagnose it, after two weeks i got it, they told me that my battery was short circuit(i don't know what that is) and is in bad condition, and the reason i couldn't charge was because of charging board or sub board problem, not because of wiggly port as i thought and battery was 1200 priced and sub board 350 something like that and 400 service charge, total was around 2000, and till now no problem, and they did a clean job as it seems it was never opened and the main thing, they gave me the replaced parts too and that was a surprise as i was very suspicious with these repair centre, i don't know about all asus service centers but the service in Kottayam service center in kerala was good from my experience.
