Help needed (bug test for custom roms) - Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro Guides, News, & Discussion

Requirements:
1) SD card (store photos, videos, songs etc)
2) Custom ROMs (Android Pie AOSP ROMs)
3) Apps (Retro Music Player, Facebook, Instagram)
Steps:
1) Make sure you've stored the media in the SD card.
2) Open Retro Music Player and select Last added
3) Take a screenshot of the arrangement of music list
4) Reboot your phone several times
5) Now open Retro Music Player
It should show no songs/ last added music list arrangement has changed>
You can also check this bug using Facebook/Instagram by tapping upload photos icon
(You can see that older photos will pop up instead of newer photos)
Please attach the changelogs so that the devs can fix this. By helping the devs, you guys are helping yourself too :good:

Please help. Thank you

I can confirm the bug. May be kernel related. You can try changing your kernel since it's not a big deal for me

I can confirm the bug too.
@theashera, since you said kernel issue, I tested on Derp Kernel/ AGNi Kernel & Retarded Kernel, the problem stilll persists

anyone, any devs willing to fix this???

Devs, please take a look at this.
For other users, you can test this issue by reading the main post

Yesterday I faced the same issue, and defitnely seems to be a kernel issue, I'm working on an clean import of whyred kernel (Only the necessary stuff to have a fully functional kernel without the unnecessary garbage of Xiaomi and without wayne/tulip sources), if I can fix the bug I will post some builds here, but don't expect a new custom kernel, just some builds.
Edit:
Try this.

Kernel Problem
The most problem in creating a ROM for ChaCha is that the kernel of HTC ChaCha is at least for Android 2.3.7. I think if we started to compile a new Kernel, our problem will be solved.
You know , It's not easy, but if we want ,we can

Gallery has absolutely no problem. It works and works. Nothing is wrong about it.
BTW doesn't the gapps you shared cause problems with flashing?(Just like how it was in CM10) I mean I used a gapps sized at 35 mb at first but it did not flash correctly and there was only 80K left in /system after flashing. Now I am using a 8mb gapps, and installed all necessary apps from Play Store.

Yes, I read it already, I actually built latest builds with arco/android_hardware_qcom_display-legacy, but I have just noticed now that you started with androidarmv6/android manifest! While I used CM's android manifest... That could explain the difference.
Thanks for pointing me to this ! I've been looking at your sources and all, but I miss that part. Let see how it goes using androidarmv6's tree as a base.

For Google Now I would just use the ICS compatible one. It is no different for JB but there is an offline and online one available. You can flash GAPPS and this separately.
Online Google Now (14mb): http://www.mediafire.com/?g55mv3df79s6rez
Offline Google Now (36mb): http://www.mediafire.com/?hsos53699wq2ttm
Thread link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1983337
The difference with the offline is offline voice recognition.
Consider updating the OP with the 10mb GAPPS and the 2 Google Now options.

Putting aside that it's really moronic for you to bump across tens of forums sections just to gain post count, I hope you best with this.
Just, it wouldn't hurt if you could once and for all explain what "ALL-ON-NAND" even mean, since in none of your past account lives you ever specified it.

Possible, but too hard. We need new kernel device tree sources with new android versions. Than we must build it from sources Than boot it. After this we must fix bugs. So we need more developers in this Pico forum
But Google will release a new Android edition (Android Oreo Go edition) for low-end devices like Pico
Maybe we have this in the future.

Yea, I've noticed that everyone homebrew'd their own "custom ROM" but it's just a stock ROM with some modifications, such as init.d support, audio mods, etc.
I don't see any device trees relating to j7eltetmo on GitHub.
There were some startups, but there is no actual (un)official builds on LineageOS (which is the necessity to life).
I will be trying to develop a device and vendor tree (I may have to steal the vendor tree and kernel trees from some other similar devices with the same SoC).
I will try my best.
I can't do it this weekend because of Hurricane Florence but I may be able to start on it next week or so.
I will make an update and a DevDB project when I get an Alpha build up and working...
---------- Post added at 03:56 AM ---------- Previous post was at 03:53 AM ----------
Right now, I just use Substratum + Sungstratum (Paid) with some Sungstratum compatible themes...
It's pretty good, not gonna lie.
Some of the others tried to make us a device tree and they never could get it going or Gave up. Even some of the bigger kernels tried to compile for us and it wouldnt go. I actually have device tree ready to go. I've compiled for devices in the menu. I just can't get it to put our device in the damn lunch menu. I'm very very close on that. I've just put it on back burner while I've been porting. I'll explain exactly where we are on a post I'm gonna create asap. I have 4 new ports for our device done. Starting them on upload.

Substratum is a theme engine. Sungstratum is like an add-on (paid) to make work with touchwiz.. Not gonna lie. Beautiful themes. But it works best with aosp ROMs. Which is why we need something aosp based.

So, why should I make my mokee device tree and kernel source for mi pad 4 public?
You took my fixes without any appreciation, instead, blame our mokee as you hate that?
So rude and impolite are you that I, as the maintainer of mi pad 4 in mokee team, cannot tolerate any more.

Please remove your first line and make an APOLOGIZE sincerely for your rude behavior.

Wow! Is it really big, will consider sending lineage os 16?
哇!是真虎大,会考虑发lineage os 16吗?

Are you actually serious? That's just asking for him to make them private. Without his work you wouldn't even be able to build a rom. At least pretend to show a tiny bit of respect.

Any change in the settings? What kernel are you using?
Thanks for the post! I think GCAM came stock with Havoc 2.6 but in 2.7 now its gone and the MIUI camera is back. I will give this a try - if I don't write review, it means everything is perfectly working. THANKS!

When I check out the telegram group, there are only links to files with different names, and I have no idea which is for which phone. Any way to get a more specific scope on which phones each link is for? which delveloper makes this apk?
Does anyone having laggy slow motion?

As i can see, the content in the telegram group is written in Russian. I thought every person in modern world can at least read Russian since the rise of Soviet Union, what world are you in????
Still getting the occasional black photo with front camera (normal/portrait mode), and have to restart in order to take a new picture.
On Havoc 2.7 Mod with KangarooX 4.5 (nonOC) and without patches.

I was using an old version of Gcam, just updated my build of Pixel Experience ROM and with this version of Gcam works like a charm! Thank you!
Can you upload it on gdrive or can anyone give me an alternate link?
Guys can anyone let me know the settings I need to fine tune? I noticed that the portrait mode is saving the pictures with blurred background and also at times I get a error "clear internal storage" while I have 30gb free
Noob here. I have pixel experience installed and magisk. How can I install the last version of gcam?
