Anyone else having trouble with wifi? I have a connection to my home network and have used the 10 digit hex wep key. Even in the same room as the router (Linksys/Cisco), the signal strength is only about 50% and I can't even open a page in Opera.
SSID shows correctly
Mode: Infrastructure
Tx Rate: 54Mbps
RX Rate: 1 Mbps <-- is this the issue?
Channel 1
Advanced status shows: Associated to network.
Any ideas?

A call to HTC yielded nothing. I'm at my wits-end. Just turning wifi makes it almost impossible to load a website, I do better with just my marginal 3G service even though the wifi shows connected. Do you think a hard reset might help??

I'd also reset the wireless router too. Another possibility is there might be compatibility issues between the router and fuze. what router do you use? i'm using a linksys router and it's working fine. Obviously the signal the phone gets isn't as good as my Thinkpad's signal, but it does the job fine. I'm really enjoying this 3G speed, so I don't really use wifi that much - saves power!
only wifi problem i had was when i put in my wep key it rejected it the first time, and when i made it reconnect everything was fine. but at first it said my network was unavail.
Okay, try this - it's what worked for me:
Go to Settings -> Connections -> Wireless LAN.
On the bottom, choose the Power Mode tab.
Move the slider all the way over to Best Performance.
Fixed me right up.

I found that in a windows mobile support forum as a stated solution for anothe HTC project and tried it also, it worked!
Thanks!
I'm having problems connecting to a WPA encrypted router and it's driving me crazy.
It just hangs and hangs and hangs, but never connects. If I put in an incorrect pass, or bad info- it immediately will fail to connect, but with the correct info- it will continue to attempt to connect, but never finish.
I've changed it to "Best Performance" but that made no difference.
^ Happened to me also. Turned out that I didn't add the Fuze's MAC address to my router's allowed devices list in wireless security.
I'm having the same problems as OP. I'm using the Fuze straight out from the box and I've tried adjusting the power settings as suggested and still no luck. I've also hard resetted to no avail. Any help is appreciated, thanks.
I don't have any issues with my wireless network, but I don't use an WPA encrypted router.
I have mine set to MAC address, and it work without issues.
I have a WEP encrypted router and it shows that I am connected. Do I need to set something up in settings -> connection -> connection? All I have are Media Net and "Work" listed. Seems like no one else is having this problem =/
I'm having a similar problem with my phone. I set my phone to maximum signal and the battery is just taking a hit. I can barely get a signal although it does work. I can't get the "free" ringtone to download off of their website, but no big loss. Wondering if the 3G/Edge would be a better bet.
Im also having a problem connecting to my network. it shows that im connected but doesnt now connect to the internet in internet explorer and other online apps. ive tryed...
restarting the router.
hard reset.
changing the power settings to high performance.
disabled hidden proxy as suggested on another thread.
exchanged my phone after being suggested by htc.
im using a linksys router. is it a compatibility issue?
this is driving me crazy; why are so many people having this problem?
I dont know if this goes here, but reading your problems, I think mine is a little different.
Where I live, in Mexico, almost everyone has internet service with the same Isp, who gives 2wire dlsmodem/routers with only a 10 digits wep encription (for default), the problem I have is that whenever I try to connect to any router (I've only tried with these) it asks for the wep key, but no matter what I put it always says that is incorrect. I tried disabling the encription and IT DOES work, but I dont control the other routers wich I want to connect to..
Any Ideas?
I am having the exact same problem. I could connect to an unsecured hotspot but can not connect to my WEP protected linksys/cisco router. It appears that linksys/cisco seems to keep popping up in this thread from folks having problem. Out of curiosity what model number of linksys/cisco do you have? Has anyone figured out a solution yet?
Go to configure wireless networks than go to the network adapters tab, click the first one IEEE 802.11 bg .... and make sure its set to user server assigned IP address.
Same problem here! tx @ 54 mbps rx @ 1mbps, and it doesn't change therefore i'm getting about 5meters distance before my connection becomes unstable (WTF). Using WPA2-PSK and set to performance.
P.S. all router incompatible comments are incorrect. There's a spec for .11 b/g and all hardware should be using this therefore it should work it's either a hardware fault or some settings aren't working correctly. BTW for me it's the same prob whether changing the ROM or radio, it doesn't change...
Same problem...never resolved? Fuze $200

Solution
I may have a solution, it worked for me on 3 routers so far and dramatically increased reception over distance and connection stability.
Open your WiFi router settings, go to advanced settings and look for something like Beacon Period. If I got it right, this is the interval between position updates and default setting should be 100.
If you lower this number, it will update your devices position more accurately and get you better stability.
Be warned it will probably marginally increase AP radiation and decrease bandwidth of the wifi connection by a percent or two, however I didn't notice any difference but a huge stability increase.
I am using Beacon Period 50 at home but anything from 50-75 works for me.
Enjoy
Whenever I am actively using bluetooth, my WiFi connection disconnects. I can see my network, but when I try to manually tell it to connect, it disappears, along with most other nearby routers. I had the same thing happen intermittently with my Samsung Captivate. Any ideas? Otherwise I haven't had any of the WiFi or Bluetooth issues others have had.
Thanks.

Both occupy the 2.4 GHz frequency band, so I'm guessing this is why you're experiencing problems. If you have a router capable of 5GHz you may want to try that to see if it resolves the problem; I run only 802.11n (5GHz) in my house and don't have any problems.

I have a wireless-N router but it's not dual-band. I have it operating in mixed N and G mode with auto channel and 40 MHz channel width. I'll try changing some of these settings to see if that helps.
Anyone tried Moonlight game streaming (aka NVIDIA GameStream) on their U11?
Long story short, the U11 seems to have issues streaming over WiFi where other lesser Android phones do not.
1) No matter what the bitrate, I get constant stuttering and the audio is very choppy on the U11.
2) My AC1900 network pushes well over 200Mbps with 3ms latency on speed tests on the phone.
2) It DOES work perfectly with a USB ethernet adapter. I can set set Moonlight to 1080p 60fps @ 40Mbps and it streams fine - no audio issues, no frame drops.
3) My Surface 4 (Moonlight Chrome plugin) and Nexus 5X (!) (same Moonlight Android app), can stream nearly perfectly at at least 20Mbps on the same network.
4) Even a crappy Moto E streams pretty smoothly @ 10Mbps on 2.4Ghz!.
So to me this clearly seems like a WiFi latency issue specifically with the U11....
I've tried:
1) Both 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz bands, same result.
2) 2 different AC1900 routers, same result.
3) Enabled "High performance mode" in developer options, same result.
What I'm wondering is, what happened to the "WiFi optimization" setting on the phone - did that get removed in the Oreo update?
Has anyone encountered something similar - wondering if maybe someone on a non-stock ROM/kernel has any different experiences?
I'm mostly just pissed that it works perfectly fine on other Android phones, but not the U11.
EDIT: Factory reset the phone and it resolved the issue.
Try an app called boost+ by htc. You might ha e too many programs battling for ram.
Try checking your Internet settings. Most carriers won't let you change this but a speed testing app might help find the bottleneck.
Try an app called adguard. Lots and lots of adservers run in the background without you knowing. Even when offline they still keep pinging and retrying until they get a connection. Adguard will blackhole them.
High performance mode shouldn't be necessary as when off battery saver it runs at full tilt anyway. When you play on data plan deactivate wifi completely. That will stop the phone constantly pinging wifi.
I have 100/10 from my ISP. Directly after booting the router and I connect to it over 2.4GHZ, I get about 70/10 on my phone which is good. If I switch to 5.0GHZ, I get 95/10 but worse range and now when its summer, I tend to relax in my garden so I use 2.4GHZ for better range. However, a few minutes after booting the router, my 2.4 speeds slow down to about 0.6/0 Mb/s instead. Rebooting the router/phone/restarting WIFI on phone restores my speed to 70/10 for a short while sometimes before slowing down again.
Anyone experience this issue? As I wrote 5.0GHZ seems to work better, but it too can slow down sometimes to 0.5Mb/s for now reason. I have tried setting "keep scanning on always" to both on and off and using wifi mods from NoLimits.
Had the same problem, after installing xxxnolimits via magisk my WiFi came back to normal speeds
I am facing a strange problem with S22 Ultra Indian Model. I am on the latest available update.
Whenever I am connected to 2.4GHz Wifi and Bluetooth earbuds (Tried one from RealMe and Sony), and try to make a video call using any app (Tried with Whatsapp, Instagram, and Zoom), after 10 or 15 seconds, the Internet would stop working.
It works fine on 5 GHz wifi. Also, it works fine when using Back Camera. It also works fine on a Phone Speaker without earbuds.
I have tried changing the channel and width of the wifi router, doesn't solve the problem.
It is not due to Frequency overlap between wifi 2.4 and Bluetooth, because the back camera works completely fine with the same settings.
It is not any particular application bug, as the internet of the whole device goes to limited connection.
Can anyone please try to replicate the same issue?
Also, it would be really helpful if someone can suggest a solution.
Thank you in advance!
Anyone facing the same issue ??
I tried to replicate this, but don't get the same issue. I used my samsung buds pro....I did notice that when I'm on 5ghz and move away from the coverage of 5ghz and the phone goes to 2.4ghz, them I loose temporary connection....It reconnects without any issues, but it takes +- 10 seconds...there is no smooth transition between the frequencies....Also if I'm on 2.4ghz and move into 5ghz area it doesn't jump to the 5ghz, it will stay on 2.4ghz

Thank you so much!
I tested on my friend's phone as well today, not getting the same issue.
Did reset the Network setting, Still issue not solved.
Will backup the data and will do factory reset soon.
