I just got the Mix 3 coming from a Samsung S8.
I am still using mine Galaxy Watch, and when paired I actually got the screen to add it as trusted device with Google play Services, so it won't be locked as long as the watch is connected via Bluetooth, however it is not working, and in the settings, there is an option to unlock the phone with connected Bluetooth accesories but it doesn't show anything.
Any advice?

Welcome to one of the issues of MIUI.
Only option is to install custom ROM to get it to work as far as I'm aware.
With my Mi Band 2 it is working flawlessly.
Also with my LG G Watch R.
I have a Mi 9, Miui 10 with latest security update and it also has blocked non Xiaomi devices from being trusted.. a pain given that I use it as a car sat nav and streamer.

Yeah, there are reasons I use Android rather than Apple! It's a shame, because the Mix 3 hardware is outstandingly good.

Just woundering if anyone has figured out a way ( root, custom ROM etc...) To make fitbit work with the LG-G5. Thanks.
What do you mean?
I have a Fitbit Surge and I just went to Bluetooth Devices and paired with the Fitbit. I have the Fitbit app and everything works fine.

Say what?
I've been using Fitbit Charge HR for a year and just upgraded to Charge 2. As noted, pair in Bluetooth settings. Simple.
Dunno if it's still relevant but new Fitbit require you to connect via it's app.
My Alta Hr won't even show up in the Bluetooth device list but it will connect through the app.

Works for me (Alta HR). Mine does show up as a paired device under the Bluetooth device list. Completely stock ROM (EE v20x).
Hey all, thanks in advance for any responses. Trying to pair Gear S3 Frontier with Nokia 6, but it never connects. I have tried the non-samsung phone Gear Manager from the Samsung website, but when I attempt to setup it sees the watch but never actually connects. Any ideas? Not a huge issue as I am only using this phone temporarily, but I hate not having functionality between the watch and the phone.
In case it matters for whatever reason, it is the LTE version of the watch.
Thanks!

When it gets to the screen to pair the two devices (should say "refer to phone to complete setup" or something similar on the gear, and have the loading circle on the phone) without closing the gear app, open bluetooth then click on the Gear in the bluetooth devices menu. Should connect and complete the setup. For some reason the connection to the gear disconnects midway through setup and doesnt attempt to reconnect, so you have to do it manually. After that there shouldnt be any issue with the gears connection to the phone.
Found this out while mucking around with phone and gear in bed one morning.

It worked for Nokia 5 as well
Thank you
Worked on my Nokia too but the problem seems to be that the watch and the phone wont reconnect automatically if the connection breaks. I need to go to Settings - Bluetooth and tap the Gear S3 row so it will connect.
Anyone else facing the same?

Also my Dutch Gear S3 Frontier wont connect to my Nokia 6.

That works around the set-up issue but the symptom is actually due to a larger issue of the Gear S3 and the phone never automatically connecting.
I used to have a Samsung S8+ and never had issues with connectivity.
I could leave my phone on my desk, walk to the other side of the building, hear the watch disconnect then walk back and hear it connect automatically. Seamless - as it should be.
Now on my Nokia 8 I need to manually go into Bluetooth and connect to the watch every time the phone loses connectivity to it. This is ridiculous.
Further, when connecting to my car stereo, the phone calls no longer go to the car.
It looks like Nokia might need to do something to fix the Bluetooth problems at the driver or firmware level.
Well with my Nokia 8 sirocco the gear s3 fails to connect even when tapping manually. Once i tap on Gear s3 it says connecting, it shows connected for 1 second and again disconnects. Any help?

I am trying on nokia 6 2017 and still does not work.
Thank you so much!
This device in not compatible with Gear s3 .
Hello there,
I recently had a chat with Samsung support and they mentioned that only few devices are support with their watches.
check on Samsung website >>/global/galaxy/gear-s3/device-compatibility/
[Jaybee(Agent):11:19:30] Basing from mt resources the Nokia 6 cannot be seen as one of the compatible device.
[(Customer):11:21:48] So, developers need to make a patch for it ?
[Jaybee(Agent):11:22:31] It is not actually an error on Samsung side since the device is made for other devices.
[Jaybee(Agent):11:23:31] One thing that I can think off is that by the time the Gear S3 was released the Nokia 6 has not been manufactured and I believe this was the first Android device of Nokia.
[(Customer):11:24:06] Yeah, I believe so..
[(Customer):11:24:41] Is that any future for nokia to get possible connection with Gear s3
[Jaybee(Agent):11:26:46] We are actually unable to tell if in the future that the Gear S3 will be compatible with the Nokia.
[Jaybee(Agent):11:27:28] We hope that would happen since we definitely want to make sure that our products can be connected to any brands.
Another thing you can do is : go into gear s app> settings> gear connection (off) try to make it on. (if you are lucky)
I wish I had my HTC one M8

Did you had any luck with this? Because I am having exactly the same issue?
easy solution
Activate Developer Mode in your phone. In Developer options find Bluetooth AVRCP Version click on it and change it to 1.3 (mine was set to 1.4 as default) restart your phone and connect it again(you might to reinstall and unpaired your Gear S3). works on my Nokia X6 2018 no problems. Cheers from Scotland ps let me know guys if it works for you (probably its same problem and solution for all android phones which have connection problems with Gear smart watches...)

Hi,
Did somebody try to use an android auto function? My car (Peugeot 308SW 2018) and the phone not connecting with latest (8.1.0) android version. I tried to enable an USB debugging (as workaround recommendation), but nothing changed...
Have you other idea or working solution?
thx!

Yes, it works perfectly in my mid 2017 Kia Cee'd SW. Check if you have android auto enabled(i have the option to disable it and the apple car play). Also, the usb cable is working properly when connecting to a pc?
At the car side is enabled, at phone side i didnt found any additional options...
The best result was the android auto icon at phone appears and disappears continously with 2-3 different cables.
Is it possible the car head unit firmware not compatible with N7P latest SW version?

Doubt it. The car is from this year, it seems unlikely(to me) that the firmware wasn't up to date.
Stupid question, you have the android auto app installed on the phone right? Android has a Car Mode but to use android auto you need to install the app 1st(https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.projection.gearhead&hl=en). If the link says that you have no compatible device, download the latest version from here(https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/google-inc/android-auto/)
For almost a year I thought my head-unit wasn't up to date as the android auto would freeze, the app would say that the head-unit wasn't up to date, waze would display random artefacts, etc.
Now with the N7p it is butter smooth, no funky stuff and way more responsive that when I was trying to use it with my Redmi 4 Prime(same cable but with a micro-b to usb c adapter)...
No issues with AA in Seat Ateca 2018.
Everything works like a charm.
For phonecalls, you need to select default sim first, otherwise the call hangs on a sim selection prompt on the phone.
I write to nokia support and they send:
- clear the bluetooth cache
- do a soft reset
after this steps working fine...
what is Bluetooth cache?

You found here, how to clear: http://support.hereplus.me/hc/en-us/articles/115003497328-Clearing-your-Bluetooth-Cache-Android-/
Do you install android auto app on your smartphone ? some lands doesn't have android auto on the play store, so you need to download manually on apk mirror web site (arm64 version)
A good quality cable is also needed.
I'm having similar issues.
This phone won't work in both my VW cars.
If I clear all settings it works fine.
I get to my destination, unplug and then when I head out on my next trip it doesn't. Just a blank screen on the head unit and the phone has the green screen saying launch Android Auto on the head unit.
Tried the BT cache clearing as above. Will try a factory reset of the phone shortly too otherwise wait for pie and if still no go then sell the phone which I will miss
Though can't work without Android Auto now
It is definitely problem with Nokia 7 plus. In my car it connect and after few minutes black screen and solution is only disconnect and connect again.

I've found the bluetooth with my N7P poor anyway. This is my second one and the same as the first.
All HMD will do is send you a list of the bluetooth protocols they support.
So you may need to change your car ?
My 7+ works perfectly now.
Enable USB debugging and disable the extreme power saving settings.
Hi everybody!
I have a Ticwatch E that I'm trying to pair with my new Xiaomi Mi 8, I've been trying for 3 days and I still cannot pair it. This are the steps I execute to pair it:
I open the Wear OS app in my phone
I look for devices and my watch appears
I click on my watch in the device list
(Here comes the problem )
A PIN is shown in my watch, it should be shown in my phone too but it doesn´t. My phone says 'A prompt to connect will appear on this phone' but nothing happens.
After a few seconds of waiting, my phone says "Couldn´t pair with Ticwatch E 299 N, because of an incorrect PIN or passkey"
At first I thought it was a problem with the watch, since my brother has a Ticwatch E and a Xiaomi Mi 8 too and he could make it work in the first attempt, so I tried to pair my watch with his old Samsung Galaxy S7 AND IT WORKED!
After that I tried again the same steps as described at the beginning of the thread with no success, so I proceeded to try connecting it without the Wear OS app. I went to Settiongs -> Bluetooth -> Selected 'Ticwatch E 299 N', and the PIN to connect was showing both on my watch and my phone, I hit 'Pair' and then it got connected. The problem is that my watch says that I should continue the configuration process in my phone but there's no configuration process if I don't pair it with the Wear OS app.
Other things I tried:
- Downloading the Mobvoi app and trying to pair from there (it asks me to open Wear OS, so it's basically the same).
- Downloading multiple old Wear OS versions in my phone and trying to pair using them (none of them worked)
- Following this steps after having paired it to my brother's old phone and then trying to pair it with the Wear OS app (This time the wear showed the PIN and asked me if the PIN was the same that was being shown in the phone (no PIN was being shown in the phone), so I clicked Yes and then I got the same 'Incorrect PIN or passkey' error message)
- Deleting all the data (including cache) of Google Play Services, Google, Wear OS, Mobvoi app, Bluetooth/WiFi/Mobile Data connections, and then rebooting the phone multiple times (no success here too)
P.S.: I did a factory reset of the phone before every mentioned attempt.
More info about my watch versions:
Home App: 2.8.0.183948193
Google Play Services: 12.2.21
Android OS: 8.0.0
Security Patch: August 1st 2018
Info about my brother's watch versions:
Wear OS by Google: 2.6 (I don't know why I don't have this in my 'versions' section)
Home App: 2.22.0.234791771
Google Play Services: 15.0.90
Android OS: 8.0.0
Security Patch: August 1st 2018
As you can see there's a clear difference between the versions of each watch, I would like to update my watch to my brother's versions but I couldn't find how to do that without rooting the watch (I'd prefeer to keep it unrooted if possible).
Any idea of what could I do to solve this? My phone's bluetooth works fine (I can use other bluetooth devices such as headphones or a JBL Charge 3, this is the first one that didn't work) and my Ticwatch works fine too (I could make it work with the S7 )
UPDATE: I connected the watch to the Samsung S7, updated Wear OS and now all the versions of both phones are the same (except for the Google Play Services version, I couldn't update it), it still doesn't pair.
Hi, I am new here, came for help
I've got Galaxy Watch 4 and tried to connect it to my smartphone LG V30. It connected only once after first start and then after disconecting I can't pair it again through the Galaxy Wearable app. My phone sees the device and can connect with it via Bluetooth but it doesnt work in app. To connect it again I have to reset the watch and start all the things from the beginning. I tried uninstall Galaxy Wearable app, turn off/on watch and smartphone, I called Samsung but they told they dont support non Samsung phones.
Anybody had also problem with pairibg and could help?
Hi, do you also have the Galaxy Watch4 Plugin installed from the Play store?
