Just woundering if anyone has figured out a way ( root, custom ROM etc...) To make fitbit work with the LG-G5. Thanks.
What do you mean?
I have a Fitbit Surge and I just went to Bluetooth Devices and paired with the Fitbit. I have the Fitbit app and everything works fine.

Say what?
I've been using Fitbit Charge HR for a year and just upgraded to Charge 2. As noted, pair in Bluetooth settings. Simple.
Dunno if it's still relevant but new Fitbit require you to connect via it's app.
My Alta Hr won't even show up in the Bluetooth device list but it will connect through the app.

Works for me (Alta HR). Mine does show up as a paired device under the Bluetooth device list. Completely stock ROM (EE v20x).

Hi,
I've got yesterday sw2. It is really cool, but sometimes i have problem with bluetooth. Sw2 seems to be connected with phone, but when i start some app, it is loading, but this app don't start. I must restart my watch and then everything works fine, but then when i don't use it for a while it didn't want start against. I am using nexus 5 with custom rom. Where can be a problem?
I am having the same problem. Also a nexus 5 with custom rom. Maybe this is a nexus issue?
Which kernel are you running on the phone.
I am using latest Droidkang rom with stock cm kernel.
Some times I will clear phone's RAM to temporarily resolve this problem.
Any ideas anyone? I have the same problem on stock 4.3 on HTC One Max. It drives me nuts ^^
Stock Nexus 5 has no such issue so I'd start with the kernel /ROM bluetooth compatability. Certain apps seem to lose their state occasionally I've noticed. They generally just need to be closed and reopened though. No reboot has been necessary.

Difficulty with MediaTek devices
I have a Wiko Stairway, which is built on MediaTek platform. Pairing is difficult but possible. I don't know whose fault it is, MediaTek or Sony or both?
Still I find it awkard that I have to install 10MB of Sony software just to establish a faulty connection.
My workaround:
Pair the devices without installing the Smart Connect suite
Install Smart Connect and restart watch
Start Smart Connect and wait a while. It should now find the watch and prompt for installing the add-on
Turn bluetooth off and on on both devices
It should now work
Problem is that every now and then the connection is dropped and you may have to toggle bluetooth on either watch or phone or both. Even sometimes a restart is required.
A work around might be to see if force closing the app 'bluetooth share' temporary resolves the issue. If that's the case you could set up a tasker task to kill bluetooth share every 8 hours or so. You might need a plug-in to properly kill bluetooth share with tasker.
So, the watch remains connected to my phone the majority of the day. However, when I get into the car, the phone will not connect with it unless I manually connect to it by going into the bluetooth settings.
Is there a way to "prioritize" bluetooth devices? If the phone sees the car, drop watch and connect to car?
It is kind of a PITA to have to manually connect the phone to the car every time.
Why do you want the gear to connect to your car instead of your phone ?
No, I want my phone to drop Gear and connect to my car. The phone is what I want connected to the car, not the watch.

Did you initially pair the phone and watch using Bluettooth? Make sure that they are connected via BT before using any apps that pair the two devices.

I had that problem too. This is what fixed it for me
I installed Endomondo on my S3 Gear, UNINSTALLED it from my device (AT&T S7E), then ran the app on the S3.
It prompted to install the app on the phone, which it did, I logged into the app on my device and boom it worked

And now it works ? big thanks for the tip
My wife recently bought a Fitbit Versa after a year with her Charge 2 HR. The phone is stock, she was able to pair them via BT flawlessly. The day after, syncronization suddendly stopped working. We tried to force close the app and restart it, to reboot the phone, to disable and re-enable BT, to set the phone to be invisible to other BT devices and to stop BT from searching for available devices, but nothing worked.
I know that H5C is not in the Versa supported phones list, but neither the Charge 2 HR was in it and it worked. Plus, the first day the connection had no problems.
Is there something we can try to make it sync again?
I was even thinking about trying another ROM on the 5C, if nothing simpler will do the job. Does someone has any idea of what makes a device compatible or not compatible with the watch?

Hi,
I own the Versa also and do not have a problem with it. But obviously you/your wife has. If your Smartphone is, according to Fitbit's list of supported devices, is not supported, these are problems you run into it. First it works and then not anymore, etc. What you could try to do is the following (untill Fitbit supports her device and you have a Tablet):
1. Turn on the BT on your laptop/PC
2, Connect the Versa to the laptop and set BT of the Versa to pairing
3. Go to Fitbit.com/setup and choose Versa
4. After a short while of searching, your laptop will find the Versa and you will see 4 digits on your Versa's display. Enter these on your laptop and the Versa is paired to your laptop. Keep the Versa connected to your laptop
5. Go to your tablet and install the Fitbit app. It will say it's not developed for the tablet but ignore that
6. Open the Fitbit app and go to setup a device and choose Versa.
It worked very well with my Fitbit device, while my Smartphone was also not supported. It's a temporary solution, but when it works, who bothers.
kindest regards, kuzibri
Hi,
I have sent my watch 4 for repair (vibration motor wasn't working) and got it back this morning. The vibration is now working, but my phone (galaxy S7) can't find the watch 4 in the bluetooth device list.
I tried pairing the watch 4 with my husband's phone (galaxy A5) and it is working. So the problem seems to be with my phone, but it was working fine before I sent it for repair.
Is there any way I can make my Watch 4 appear in the bluetooth device list of my galaxy S7 phone?
My phone's bluetooth device list lets me see any other bluetooth device (earbuds, car, speaker, tablet, etc.). When I try to pair the phone to my Watch directly from the watch's settings menu, it doesn't work (the watch can't find any device available for pairing).
Thanks!
Are you using the WEAR app to pair the watch to your phone or just trying to pair it through the phone Connections? Make sure the watch is not listed under AVAILABLE DEVICES. If it is, press on it and tell the phone to forget the device and then try again.

Thanks for the answer! I also tried using the WEAR app, but it cannot find the Watch 4 either. I also tried with Samsung Health, but it doesn't see the device. My phone is completely blind to my watch! I really don't know what to do. Maybe there is some kind of debugging that I could try?
This same watch was connected to your phone before you sent it for repair, correct? If so and you did not remove it from the list of available devices on the phone, it may be having a problem connecting to it. Make sure to remove it from the list of available devices. Then reconnect via the WEAR app.

It is the same watch connected to my phone before it was sent for repair, you are correct. I uninstalled and then reinstalled the WEAR app while trying to fix things... maybe it was a mistake. Now when I open the WEAR app, the only option I have is to search for available device, but it doesn't find any. I don't have any menu or settings or anyting in the WEAR app.
OK, try going into your bluetooth connections on the phone and see if the watch is listed as an available device. If it is, remove it and then reboot the watch and your phone and then try to use the wear app to connect the watch to your phone.

Well. Have you tried rebooting the phone and watch? The last option is to do a factory reset on the watch and see if that fixes the issue.

I did reboot both the phone and watch. I feel that the problem is with the phone, because I can pair the watch with my husband's phone. So the problem seems to be with my galaxy S7 phone. Anything else I could try with the phone to fix this?
OK, have you tried connecting your phone to any other bluetooth device? Try the items here:
https://www.technobezz.com/fix-samsung-galaxy-s7-edge-bluetooth-problems/
One other item. Make sure you have your watch unpaired from your hubbys phone. If it is in the house, it will not let it pair to your phone if it is already paired to his. Does the watch show that is it paired with a phone or is there a phone icon at the top of the watch face?

I can pair my phone with any other device (earbuds, car, speaker, tablet...). Also, I made sure my watch wasn't paired with my husband's phone when i tried pairing it with my own phone. Hubby's phone bluetooth is turned off and the watch isn't paired with anything
Did you try any of the items from the link I posted?
Not sure but I'm guessing on your hubbys watch you should remove from his wear app if paired to and instead of turning bluetooth off, he should unpair from the watch....
Also, maybe i missed it, have you tried pairing bluetooth from watch to phone?
Finally, I found a solution: I had to reset the Network Settings and now my watch is listed in my bluetooth device list! I'm very happy! Thanks a lots for your time and effort trying to help me solve the problem! I greatly appreciate it!
Good to hear. Enjoy the watch.
