I manged to install superSU on my moto g 3rd gen (XT1550).It gave the error "superSU binaries not found"
So I installed superSU 2.65.Now my phone is stuck on bootloader warning. However I can still go to TWRP. Trouble is,installing the previous superSU is not helping either.
Please tell me what went wrong and how can I fix it.Its my first time so I apologise for any newbie mistake here. Thanks for help.

Not sure what you're saying, but once you unlock the bootloader you will get a long bootloader warning unless you flash a boot logo.

The phone is stuck on bootloader warning. The step you mentioned points out how to remove the warning screen. My phone was stuck on it until its battery ran out. I have today installed superSU 2.62 beta and did what Tassusian did. While the phone now boots after the warning,it is stuck on the motorola logo screen.I'm waiting to see what it does next. Thanks for the reply though. It is good to see a helping hand.

Try to install a different rom ! Clean flash that ROM hopefully that will solve the bootloop issue !
(Clear the system while clean flashing ) and after booting the whole rom then instal root (superSU/magisk)zip file in twrp.

What are you installing SuperSU TO? Have you flashed a ROM? Flash a different ROM. Some repeat of above post @Mohammed Siamwala . Avoid majisk until you fix this.- I find it buggy sometimes.
I suspect I have corrupted my ROM somehow.
Installing superSU 2.62 Beta seems to boot it but it still gets stuck at the motorola logo screen.Which ROM should I use and how do I install it?Thanks for diagnosing the problem.:good:

Make sure:
wipe/advanced/check: dalvik/art, system, data, cache - all 4, but NOT internal storage or SDcard
click the thing that says not to install the TWRP app when rebooting
take a screenshot of error (same way as in ROM) and post it.

Does anyone have a link to the twrp img file, or any other custom recovery, i cant find it anywhere, all the links just point to the flash tool but it doesn't contain the twrp img file?

That noverity.zip disables a mechanism in the boot partition that verify the boot itself and the system partition, when you install twrp a little bit of the boot partition is altered and so the boot is blocked.
Install the zip using twrp. You can take a look at this (https://www.getdroidtips.com/twrp-recovery-ulefone-s8-pro/), but if I remember well, that s8 pro toolkit app is the one that asks you to install the zip

Same problem. I flashed stock boot image. Attempted to update but failed. Relocked bootloader to make sure system is untouched. Booted normally which means system is not modified. Tried to update again and same error. It occurs halfway of step 1 when installing.
Sometimes stock boot image is not enough, so just flash the whole thing in mi flash tool, lol
If it has something to do with Magisk modules, try flashing the magisk uninstaller in twrp first then let system boot first, before flashing stock boot img

did you check this variant: try this post : https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=76681988&postcount=203
this twrp is blue without extra step and snappy without fix
further with this variant you can flash magisk 16.4 as it always have been from recovery, no need to flash an entire kernel, just flash the zip like for any other device and you'll be rooted.
i found out that wifi only breaks if for whatever reason (user error) someone is booting from the wrong slot.

did you check this variant: try this post : https://forum.xda-developers.com/sho...&postcount=203
this twrp is blue without extra step and snappy without fix
further with this variant you can flash magisk 16.4 as it always have been from recovery, no need to flash an entire kernel, just flash the zip like for any other device and you'll be rooted.
i found out that wifi only breaks if for whatever reason (user error) someone is booting from the wrong slot.

You can flash 16.4 with this variant as well (updated in OP). No different.

thanks for letting me know: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=76681988&postcount=203
link corrected in original post
good to know that things develop fast all around, the post is two days old, a lot of time at this stage after device release
if you still read the post in the link you'll see that there's more to it than magisk flashing, it's blue without blue fix and extremely snappy for one
but then again, it's just shared info so everyone has the chance to find max input
every time i install TWRP recovery and reboot its roll back to stock recovery.
Root and Magiks work perfectly. how to solve this problem ?
bootloader unlocked
OOS: 5.1.11
Try installing TWRP reboot back to Recovery ( don't reboot phone) then reboot phone.

Could you tell us exactly what the steps are that you're using to install TWRP when it fails? Are you doing this from a command line with:
Code:
fastboot boot twrp.img
If you are, that boots you into TWRP temporarily, but it doesn't install it on the device.
To do that, you need to install twrp.zip from within TWRP after booting into it per the command line step above?
Or are you trying something else?

Install the .zip file, and then also make sure to flash Magisk v16.7 after before rebooting to system.
Also Flash the zip file everytime you are updating your rom...or flashing another os...

That's incorrect. You need to install Magisk 16.4! THEN after boot let it update to Magisk 16.7 through the Magisk Manager.

That isn't incorrect, flashing Magisk 16.7/17.0 works perfectly fine.

16.7 flashed from TWPR results in the error you see once you boot into the OS.

There's no error - I flashed 17.1 from the recovery perfectly fine.

17.1 is the latest update and fixed the the Preserve AVB 2.0/dm-verity being uncheck by default which is why I said you can't flash 16.7, that you need to flash 16.4 in TWRP and then let Magisk Manager update to 16.7... Never said anything about 17.1

You have to flash twrp.zip through reboot in twrp. You booted It with Image and now It needs the zip file to keep itself mounted.
