did you check this variant: try this post : https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=76681988&postcount=203
this twrp is blue without extra step and snappy without fix
further with this variant you can flash magisk 16.4 as it always have been from recovery, no need to flash an entire kernel, just flash the zip like for any other device and you'll be rooted.
i found out that wifi only breaks if for whatever reason (user error) someone is booting from the wrong slot.

thanks for letting me know: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=76681988&postcount=203
link corrected in original post
good to know that things develop fast all around, the post is two days old, a lot of time at this stage after device release
if you still read the post in the link you'll see that there's more to it than magisk flashing, it's blue without blue fix and extremely snappy for one
but then again, it's just shared info so everyone has the chance to find max input

Tried before switching all my datas from 5 to 6
I missed the latest fastboot drivers which resulted as incomplete procedure
I will try soon
It's not worth to flash the custom roms yet. I tried lineageos and status bar isn't configured to works great with notch for example. Sometimes notch hides some icons. That's pretty ugly.
Guys ..
Did you do the below to boot successfully:
To flash the system.img you will do the below:
1- Unlook bootloader.
2- Wipe everything except internal SD.
3- Flash vbmeta.img (From Stock ROM).
4- Flash system.img (Pixel Experience ROM).
5- Reboot.
Neither 5.1.5 or 5.1.6 boot/vbmeta files worked. Tried your guide as well, no success. Thanks thou.
Lol guy adds this "rom" to the general section and it doesn't even boot. I've tried every release for it and nothing boots for it. Please stop adding GSI's to the general section. All you did was link to the right section.Unless you have done anything special or made the rom yourself please just remove this thread. If your going to create a thread why not create a general Treble ROMs for OP6 thread discussion so it's not singled out.

I really don't know how to respond to this. I'm the one who made the twrp you guys use. I'm the one who made the script to install the GSI's on your guys phones. So here's my response to you. Dude .. Simply, if you don't know how to read. Or if you don't know how to use a search bar simply don't try and/or sell your OP6.

Oh and let me fix your "how to"
Guys ..
Did you do the below to boot successfully:
To flash the system.img you will do the below:
1- Unlook bootloader.
2- Wipe everything except internal SD.WRONG!
2.Run these commands
fastboot flash boot_a boot.img
fastboot flash boot_b boot.img
fastboot --disable-verity --disable-verification flash vbmeta vbmeta
fastboot -w flash system_a system.img
fastboot flash system_b system.img
fastboot reboot
Now if you guys would like a simple installer then here you go.
5.1.6 GSI Installer
Steps to get this to work.
1. Download file
2. Extract file
3. Download a GSI of choice.
4. Rename said GSI to "system.img"
5. Place system.img in the root of the extracted folder you downloaded.
6. Run flash-allbothslots.bat
7. If it doesnt boot please add it to the compatibility list included in the zip and post it here.

Could you tell us exactly what the steps are that you're using to install TWRP when it fails? Are you doing this from a command line with:
Code:
fastboot boot twrp.img
If you are, that boots you into TWRP temporarily, but it doesn't install it on the device.
To do that, you need to install twrp.zip from within TWRP after booting into it per the command line step above?
Or are you trying something else?

Install the .zip file, and then also make sure to flash Magisk v16.7 after before rebooting to system.
Also Flash the zip file everytime you are updating your rom...or flashing another os...

That's incorrect. You need to install Magisk 16.4! THEN after boot let it update to Magisk 16.7 through the Magisk Manager.

u need to download full recovery zip file (when an update available) & flash via twrp
small sized ota updates cannot be installed with a custom recovery

unlocking bootloader is necessary and during unlocking the bootloader your phone must be formatted and your data will lost you and internal too.
so you have to backup all your data and music and whatever you are keeping.
Ater unlocking you have to flash PTWRP from the fastboot command and imultaneously boot to TWRP then flash magisk and done your phone is now rooted.
Your data will be lost.
