You can bypass the screenshot limitations by simply using the Google assistant - Android General

Hi, I just found something on a German news site, I don't know if anyone has posted it yet: if you want to take a screenshot in your banking app (or Snapchat), just trigger the Google assistant and tell it to take a screenshot ?

[Q] Voice Actions on Note 3?

Hello all!
I'm trying to get the old google voice search to work on my Samsung Galaxy Note 3 (n9005). Here's a link to the app in question.
Edit: I'm apparently not allowed to post links since I'm a relatively new member. If you search for "Voice Search" on Google Play, you'll see it.
I dislike the new google voice search and I'd prefer to revert to this. Sadly, even though I did manage to successfully install the app after rooting and removing the newer version, I can't get the voice commands to work. I've done a number of google searches on the subject and I can't find anything helpful. I already have the language set to US English.
Any thoughts?
Thanks in advance!

Google Camera privacy policy?

I was wondering please if someone with a Pixel could check if the Google Camera has a privacy policy in the app itself? Either via an online link from the app, or within the app itself?
The version installed on my old Nexus 6 doesn't seem to (there's a generic built in help, but I couldn't find anything by searching for privacy). But of course, that may be a rather old version of the camera app!
Thanks in advance!
No one
Under help there is a link to privacy policy, but it just a generic google services privacy policy.

Thanks! I'm a camera developer, and was just curious to see how Google themselves interpret the rule about requiring a privacy policy.
To clarify - that's a link to an online site that opens in the browser? (The Google Play policy says "within the app itself" which is vague as to whether an online link counts.)
And is it to http://www.google.com/policies/privacy ? (This is the link that's on the Google Camera store listing - yeah, I had noticed that it doesn't actually say anything about Google camera's use of camera permission or anything about the app specifically at all, unless it's buried in there somewhere...)

Only method I've found is to uninstall Breeno via ADB (i.e. as per method outlined here https://forum.xda-developers.com/realme-x2-pro/how-to/eu-rom-realme-ui-debloat-list-t4084795, some packages are different so I used an app called 'Package Names' from the Play Store to help identify which ones I wanted to remove).
Google assistant now working. Also google feed now comes up instead of the breeno feed thing.
Nearly feels like a european ROM, my only remaining niggle is how to get location tracking turned back on for google maps timeline.

Question cannot select google pay as default on the watch 4

Google pay is supported in my country. (Romania)
I installed the app on the watch from the appstore, added the card , confirmed it through the bank. All fine.
Problem is that when I open the google pay app, it asks it to be set as default then redirects me to a menu to enable NFC, and there is only Samsung pay available there.
I searched a lot for this. A lot of people reported this error. Any solution to fix it ?
Sorry if this has been already discussed. I just couldnt find anything. Hence .. this post.
Many thanks,
Samsung locked it down
no way to make it work anymore ?
Yeah same on my device too.
I also tried uninstalling samsung pay through adb.
Google pay still doesnt appear. anybody finds a solution please post it here.
Might be an error with the current watch softawre (DOJA) in my case. Lets see if future updates solves it. But i doubt it.
Dont know why samsung insists on their software since its not supported here. Lets see them also allow google assistant as well so we can take full experience on this wearos watch.
Anybody finds any solution to google pay to reappear on default apps please post here.
Have a read through this post. I've done it on mine and now when I long press the bottom button G Pay opens instead of Samsung Pay.
Override hardware keys?
On Galaxy phones, the Bixby button can be overrided completely to allow for a number of customizations using 3rd party apps and ADB. Is there potential for this to work on GW4 for the Samsung Pay and Bixby shortcuts? I'd love to be able to use...

i managed to sideload the google pay app and managed to configure it however whenever i reboot the watch the icon just vanishes . can you kindly advices if there is any workaround it please ?
i doubt the gpay works if its not selected as default payment app
I am facing the exact same issue. Google Pay is supported in my region but when I open the app it asks me to make it default for payments. In the NFC settings I only see the Samsung Pay app. I also uninstalled Samsung Pay through adb but GPay still asks to make it default and it is not opening.
I guess it has to do with the region the firmware was designed for (Samsung Pay is not supported here). Not sure if I can return the watch based on the fact that they sell it here with a firmware that is meant to work on another region.

Question How can I get the google assistant working on my galaxy active watch 2 with my P7P?

I need help. I'm no developer. I've been following this video to try getting my wife's G2 Active and Google assistant working on her P7P. This method worked several years ago and she had the assistant running on her G2 active over her Note 8. Now we've upgraded to the P7P's though. However, since this video was created there are more required fields to creat the Oauth client ID. A package name and SHA-1 certificate fingerprint are required. I can get the package name of the GAssist.net companion app (com.cybernetic87.GAssist), but i don't know how to get the SHA-1 certificate fingerprint or even really what that is. I tried setting up the OAuth as a limited input device since it's a watch. When I load the secret json file on the phone the app crashes during the authentication attempt. What do I do? It's absolutely ridiciulous that the google assistant could never be put on the galaxy watches directly.
Google Assistant is built into the Pixel software. Are you talking about a custom ROM?

Sorry. Thanks for the correction. The title missed a very, very important detail that I want the Google assistant working on my watch. This could used to be done with a GAssist companion app and enabling the assistant API, downloading the oauth. Json API thing to the app that is on the watch and the phone, and it worked. Now the instructions seem to need updated a little because the Google cloud page is a bit different and I think more info is required to be input- that's what I've tried explaining in the OP. I was hoping someone would know what I'm trying to do and see this. I'd I had to guess this is probably something simple. I just don't know what it is.

Are you saying that based off the fact that he hasn't updated it in a while? Wouldn't the original idea still work though? I just need to know how to get that Json file in which options need selected to access the Google Assistant API when setting up the OAuth key on the Google cloud. Shouldn't that still work?

That's way above my pay grade, I know just enough about it to screw it up.
