Onda v820w ch v3, dual boot, win 10 64 bit home + android 5.1 (files, instructions) - Android General

Hi guys,
I bought this tablet at the end of 2016. I played a lot with it, about 2 years. I sold it at the end of 2018.
These days i try to make some space in my hard drive, so i delete some files.
I have downloaded on 2016 many things about this tablet. Even now, Onda's official site is in Chinese and i saw that Onda Forum is down.
So i decided to upload here my experience, some instructions and service files about this tablet.
I will upload the files i have not at once, so before asking questions wait a little.
Enjoy
P.S : Sorry, now i saw that there is a limit on the size of files that a member can upload !! I wanted to upload the Original ROMS of this tablet (they are some GBs !!).

Please put the instructions
Hello,
I appreciate your good will gesture. I am interested in reinstalling the os on such a tablet ( I think mine is v5) and I can't find instructions and files for windows only the V820W_DUALOS_V5_32_1605279_20160602.zip(after windwos 10 reset I can't boot windows ,works only on Android). Hope you will continue, thanks.

Found solution to recover Windows 10 on tablet but lost Android
Hello , after some more search I found an interesting russian forum with many download links for this tablet. Here is a download link that contains many of the necessary files for Onda v820w from there:
........
For my case (tablet was reseted from windows options I presume, and was not able to boot anymore just some automatic repair started but did not work) , making a NTFS bootable disk with rufus and copied all the windows files from 10_V3.rar found in the download link provided and choosing ->"System image recovery"->then something about boot from EFI usb drive I remember. And it worked, it managed to reinstall windows and make it boot again by itself.
After succeeding this I became more confident and tried to update the Android form this tablet from 4.4 to 5 as I saw it has everything we need in the above link. After trying different versions of Manufacturing flash tool and Intel drivers for this tablet I managed to connect to it and make it take the provided image with Android 5 from fastboot menu when connected to laptop with the flash tool.
The only problem is it said it does not have enough space to flash system.img at around 84% on the Manufacturing flash tool loading bar. (strange as the tablet is empty, nothing on it, just default software).
Now Android does not boot anymore (haha, fixed something destroyed something).
The questions are:
-Can and how to use the other Android 5 images I found on the russian forum ? They are different type of backup files (with system.ext4.win type of files not .img files that the manufacturing flash tool expects).
From what I've read they are TWRP generated backups but my tablet has the default recovery.
-Can I convert the TWRP files to .img ?
-I found an TWRP recovery for this tablet (I hope) but I am not sure that if I flash the TWRP recovery it will not mess with the windows partitions already working on this tablet...
Here are the files I found and some english step by step tutorial for flashing the Android and a spanish tutorial for the Windows part of this tablet, on my google drive:
......
Edit: "To prevent spam on the XDA forums, ALL new users prevented from posting outside links in their messages. After approximately 10 posts, you will be able to post outside links. Thank you for understanding!"
So I cannot post yet the links to images and the files but if somebody is interested I will sent in private massage. (If I will remember about this post in a few months , pretty lame the anti-spam rule...) Now I understand why who initiated this thread abandoned it...

RE: Links to Onda v820w windows files
Hi Olaruci,
I seem to have a similar problem to the one you and POWERSER have had. Please can you assist with the download links for this tablet. I can't boot the tablet into Android or Windows, only the system recovery option is available to me and it doesn't work.
Thanks :good:

Download links Onda v820w
Hello Grimm1,
I've sent the download links in private message.
I still did not manage to flash any of the system.img files ( I tried to unzip system.ext4.win images and change extension to .img but it's not working, not valid).
So I've changed the original recovery.img with the TWRP recovery found in the download link, and it works.
Now I have TWRP but with a small problem, it's in russian... now I try to find a way to change language (it's the materialized theme of TWRP 2.8 , and it seems it does't have a change language option)
Also windows 10 on PC needs latest versions of:
- Manufacturing flash tool (6.051)
- IntelAndroidDrvSetup1.10.0
- iSocUSB-Driver-Setup-1.0.4 or 1.0.5 (I THINK THIS IS THE MOST IMPORTANT to have latest version FOR THE MANUFACTURING FLASH TOOL TO SEE THE TABLET)
Also only connect tablet to laptop usb(in fastboot mode) AFTER opening manufacturing flash tool and AFTER selecting xml file and message "ready to flash" appears.

Hi,
I'm using an Onda v820w dual OS. I like this tablet and its dual OS capability.
I'm trying for days to find a way to change a few things but ondaforum is down so it's not easy now.
Once I succede I will give links and steps.
A first link where there is a lot to download : http://chinagadgetsreviews.blogspot.com/search?q=v820w&x=0&y=0
/!\ WARNING /!\ I did not test any of the software found on the link above so don't blame me if it screw your devices.
The first step was to install TWRP to be able to flash Android 5 instead of 4.4. The one I use is in russian for the moment so I use Google translate...
Anyway I just flashed Android 5.1 found on a russian forum a few minutes ago. For the moment the tablet is on the boot anim for at least 20mn...
I will tell you.

Hi Olaruci, thanks for the link it was a lifesaver for me
I only stumbled to one problem - for some reason I can not calibrate my Touchscreen. It works, but nither the Touch PG or MS Calibration software helped me...the calibration is just off (few cm gap). Did anyone had this kind of problem and what do you think I could do to solve this problem?
Kind regards to everyone who contributed this feed....it helped a lot.

Did you ever figure anything out on yours?
You could try using this tool, but be sure to read the whole 1st. post ! And start out with temp-root, to not see if it works without messing anything up.
That said, I don't know if there are any custom recoveries/ROMs available for the device in question.
Edit: Here is an alternative method
Just bought my wife one of these in the 10inch. Does the above methods work for them? Has anyone tried z4root on them with a temp root?
I'll take a look
get me a dump
enable usb debugging
mkdir dump
cd dump
adb pull /system
and then
adb backup -all -system
zip the backup.ab, zip dump and upload both then send me a PM

Finally got around to installing adb and got the error device not found. Will trouble shoot and get back. So far I have to say there seems to be no reason to even root the thing. It came with no crap, system is wide open, fast all options available etc. has OS 4. there is the older version w/8in screen that may need rooting so I will get the dump to you asap.
i have this tablet
i have the 10.1 inch irulu tablet and i noticed after running a root checker it came out of the box with root access and if you go to settings under backup and reset there is a recovery mode that can be used to update rom. As for roms though i would be extremely surprised if there are any. hope this helps
I have the irulu AL101 - been search'n for original ROM to restore
This is my first post to this forum I have some learning to do.
I received the iRulu 10.1 AL101 tablet for XMAS and did something stupid (clearly already rooted), I was loading apps from google play and included BusyBox in that selection. After this was installed and rebooted the tablet no longer boots.
I've cracked open the case and can take internal images of the hardware if anyone is interested.
It seems there are no recovery images if I hold the power button down and the home button during boot it come up with an android icon on its side with the cover open and red caution sign - presumably indicating a nothing to boot some hang. Also assuming I'm doing the correctly.
This has the Android 4.04 on it with the crane_al101_xx build image - there is another post with a picture of the build info.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2071266
In my searches I went to the pigpony web site. I was surprised to find this site:
http://image.pigpony.com/image/
There appears to be some images there for various tablets and some restore software. I'm just not sure if I can do anything with these.
Here are some examples of the file names (for the AL001 not the AL101)
name / size
bootlogo.bin / 751KB
ramdisk.img / 149 KB
recovery.img / 1,086 KB
system.img / 245,761 KB
uImage / 2,631 KB
There also appears to be some system restore software there as well.
Not sure if any of this is helpful the instructions on the restore software are in Chinese.
I've tried to use the ADB but the BC1003 Tablet PC is yellow bang in the device manager - any ideas here? I was considering using LiveSuit but I think the software instructions are using an external micro sdcard to restore.
Regards,
Ross
iRulu Restore Instructions
Well I finally did do a low level store following the attached instructions. The only issue is now the wireless doesnt work. Not sure if this is a HW or software problem. When you turn it on it turns off after a few seconds.
Is there any diagnostics to try?
BTW I have not been able to connect with the ADB and perform a dump in the instructions as defined earlier in the thread.

[Completed] Utime/Charmpin G7 Rom update

Hello,
I've bought an Utime G7 mobile (Android version 4.2.1, kernel version 3.4.5, build number: s33a_95045a_m11_v002_ch_20140307) from the ebay, but I forgot to tell them, that I'd like the hungarian language. How can I add this to my system? Or I've downloaded a hungarian rom from the needrom.com (it contains img files, mbr, ect...), and I'd like to know, how to install it (the last time I've done something like this, I've worked with android 2.0, 3 years ago on my tablet, maybe a lot of things changed )
After taking a look at that website, since these are complete firmwares, they can be pushed over ADB after putting the phone is bootloader/download/fastboot mode. Once done, you'd have to issue a set of commands to flash the firmware. Here's a nice tutorial [Tutorial] How to flash a new boot.img via Fastboot Although its for a different device, underlying ADB commands are still the same.
Having said that, here's a nice discussion thread. [Q] Enabling other languages? Post 3 would be of importance to you. Its for a different device but the steps listed are just the same for you.
I think, I'm stupid or something. I don't understand a word about theese tutorials, and I don't understand why do I need theese things (adb, fastboot, ect..) to update my rom (I've rooted my phone)... Isn't that enough to install rom manager v5.5.3.7...open it, choose "reboot into recovery", and after the reboot, choose "apply update from sd card", and select the system.img (I've unpacked from a zip what contains boot.img, EBR1, EBR2, lk.bin, logo.bin, MBR, preloader.bin, recovery.img, secro.img, system.img)?
Or just create a bootable sd card?
I understand that this all can be a bit overwhelming. My colleague @demkantor has two very nice tutorials, [Guide] How To Setup And Use Fastboot and [Guide] How To Create Recovery Flashable .zips / update.zips that should help.If need be, feel free to post on that thread and he'd be more than happy to help you.
this is the third time I asked for help on the internet, and after that I had to solve my own problem....
SP Flash tool was the right answer!

Originally I tried to create auto CWM for another model Lava Iris x8-L (MTK 6592M) upgraded to V. 5.1 Lollipop and it threw up this copy error. Then I read somewhere that Droid tools v. 2.5.3 doesn't support Lollipop, so i tried it on this Titanium s_10 model with kitkat, and it gave this same error which tells me me that I am doing something wrong. I am using admin account and even running the program as an admin. The drivers are all fine, readback is successful, just the CWM is not being made. If ura1 or someone else can guide me, I would be extremely grateful.
I am new here so before someone tells me to post in the correct thread by ura1, i wish to clarify that upon trying to reply to that thread xda throws up this page saying:

I have a firmware, but i don't have 10 posts =(

I found firmware in the Chinese cloud. I suffer a couple of hours downloaded it. The firmware of the original Azpen A1040!
Download links: Mega Mail.ru Yandex

Bricked Azpen A1040
I recently came into possession of an A1040 which would not complete a boot. I launched it in Recovery Mode (+ Volume, Power) and checked the boot status. It came back with several files missing.
I've been on the hunt for replacement files and I tried the files you provided, zero1212 (I unpacked the .rar and repacked it as a zip, as well as copied over the files unpacked). While the system can see the .zip and the expanded folders on the SD card, it will not load them from the Recovery Mode.
Kingo Root was suggested in another forum. Their PC Root links no longer respond, and they've been removed from cnet.download.com.
At this point, I'm ready to crack the thing open and desolder any interesting bits. Before I do, are there any alternatives to get a working OS on this thing?
Unfortunately, I can offer you only a complete reinstallation of the system. This can be done via SP FlashTool. Also, my previous attempts were made to port TWRP to this device. Alas, they were not successful.

A complete reinstall would be fine with me! I'll look into SP Flashtool when I get back home tonight. Thank you. Will it make use of the files you provided above, or do I need different data?
I laid out the archive is designed just for SP FlashTool. Extract the files from it, and specify in SP FlashTool the path to the scatter file. Suggest to read carefully the instruction for SP FlashTool, which can be found on the Internet, because the program has several modes of flashing.

Just curious because I've done it on the A5 and am thinking of getting an A5C seeing no luck with getting Google on the Pro or Pro CC yet.
So I got the A5C. Can confirm this works.
Are there newer versions around @joygram?

I upload the Stock ROM with OneDrive, but I can't post the link (XDA policy, I'm new on xda).
I use it to upgrade an Hisense A5 (b/w) in an Hisense A5C (color).
Hardware model is the same: HLTE202N.
Also I think it's possible to use this software to do a factory reset on a smartphone that is already an A5C.

Here the Upgrade method:
Use T card to upgrade.
(1) precautions for upgrade:
1. The upgrade operation will clear all non-factory preset user information in the mobile phone. Please transfer important information in advance.
2. Be sure to ensure that the battery is sufficient. It is recommended that the battery should have at least 50% of the battery to avoid power interruption during the upgrade process, resulting in upgrade failure.
(2) preparation before upgrading T card:
1. Prepare a TF card, first format the TF card into FAT format;
2. Decompress the downloaded software version (generally a compressed package, which is divided into multiple compressed subpackages), and copy the obtained folder named "HLTE202N_TF" to the root directory of the TF card;
3. Put the TF card into the mobile phone and put the battery into the mobile phone. Confirm that the battery power is more than 50%, if the battery power is low, please charge first;
(3) T-card upgrade process
1. Press and hold the "volume +" and "volume-" side keys at the same time, and then press the power-on key. The mobile phone will automatically enter the T-card upgrade mode to upgrade. If the mobile phone does not enter the T-card upgrade mode, repeat this operation after shutdown.
2. Wait about 5 minutes for the upgrade to end. A message indicating successful upgrade will be displayed.
3. Restart according to the prompt after the upgrade is successful. If there is no such prompt, press the power-on key for more than 20 seconds to restart the machine. After the upgrade, it takes a long time to restart the machine for the first time, which is several times of the normal startup time, please wait patiently.
Ok. After getting my hands on the file from the upper link, and after a flawless flash through a micro sd card (8gb at least) i made a torrent file for the file. At the momment only my computer is seeding it so slow download, but if others care to download and seed, the file can be reachable easily.
Here is a small dropbox link to the torrent file, so you can download using a torrent client from my pc directly.

I am not able to flash the TF Card update to restore my Hisense A5C. I always get failed to parse bin head.

I already tried different SD Cards. I have a working Google Version Rom which I can flash with MiFlash. But when I flash the "Original" vbmeta and boot from the root package and then try TF Card update. I always get this error.
