Google Maps Night Mode? - MTCD Android Head Units Q&A

I have a PX5 8.0 MTCE unit with version 10 of Google Maps - Is there a way to get it to go into Night Mode?
I've tried Automatic and Night Mode in the settings section but that doesn't seem to do anything.
My Head Unit will dim itself when my lights are on (Though I don't have the illumination cable connected to anything).
The white map is just too bright late at night and I'd love to get it to go into Night Mode.

It should do it automatically when sun sets, mine does

What version of Android? What version of Google Maps (and you're using the full Google Maps, not the android auto version?)

Yes i am using the full google maps latest version on android 6.0.
Also if you go choose a destination, go to settings and there should be options for day, night or auto. Mines set to auto

Same problem here too.

Also check the Timezone. mine was set to chinese timezone which was preventing it go into night mode when it was night here in NA (obviously day time in china)

Night mode activates when route is programmed?
If I do not have route programmes activates?
Mine is set to Europe timezone also.

Weather never auto updates

I know there is a thread related to this, but I never saw a solution.
My Gear S2 stock Weather app never auto-updates. Not even when I open the app. In order to update the current conditions in my city, I have to tap on the city, then scroll all the way to the bottom to the refresh button.
In the Samsung Gear app on my Galaxy S4, I have gone into the Settings>Weather settings, and I have selected to Auto Refresh every 6 hours. I have Use Current Location turned off (maybe that's my problem?).
Anyone have ideas?
Almost same issue with my Gear S.
First : location must be ON
Second : weather update only when phone screen is on. So if you use some time your phone weather is updated, otherwise weather can stay 10H without update if you do not use your phone

New on android wear - is a little difficult

Hi,
since yesterday i have a HW2. Usaly im a wearable user like miband, garmin, Fitbit...and brand new in the android wear universe.
- there are no "nightmode" ?? Do not disturb and shut down your Display between 10pm and 6am setup?
- there a no sleep tracking per default? I try sleep as android. But that lights the display all the night with "Sleeptracking" - and in the morning there are not data
- no altimeter, no barometer per default? (see it on the S3 frontier per default)
A lot of questions and not enough answers

On the clock screen pull down a little shortcut menu that contains airplane mode, sound, theater mode (turns the display black until you press the power button), do not disturb, settings.
There are no sleep tracking. There is though a app called "sleep as android" you can download as you mentioned.
Barometer and altimeter can be showed in some watch faces
Thanks. Today was the second night that sleep as android crashes after 4 minutes on my OP3
Yesterday i had to charge the HW2 2 times - that a but to much. Have to optimize that thing.
Today i try it at my desk. Sleep as android crash after 3-6 minutes on my handy. Dont no why. This log-logger from the faq dosent make a file. Very anoining.
Heart Rate sensor while a bike round. Im not sporty. If my wrist is wet....i get ~70Bpm. If i try that it shows me like i feel. 140Bpm and more. Go ahead and my wrist is wet again....plays start from the begining.
The first 10 Minuites are NOTHING...till the time i dry my wrist.
Today after 11 hours I had only 15% left of the watch. But it was down to 40% before I did a 20 min run with endomondo on the watch and listening to music with bluetooth headphones while running. I also hade a sim card in the watch and the display set to always on. So it was heavy usage. But I did not run for long time..
Air pressure/Barometersensor look not calibratet or whatever. Here we are at 1022hpa, whatch show 1009. Yesterday 1020hps - watch show 1009hpa

Random theme changing

I am running a converted TMobile on 10.0.1 and the dark mode keeps change with with the accent color whenever it wants. Anyone else having this issue?
I'm having the iusse when I connect to Android Auto. I have dark mode enabled, but when I connect to Android auto in my car and disconnect, the whole thing is turned to white again. Very annoying.

Same here.

I have noticed the same issue with Android Auto and Android 10.. If you turn the car off with the headlights on or dimmer on, the phone will switch to dark mode and stay.
When Android Auto is running, with Dimmer/lights off, the phone settings page and others will be white. If you put the phone to Dark mode again, it puts Android Auto into night mode.
Only way to keep the phone in dark mode, no matter what, is to put Android Auto into night mode via Developer settings. But Map is hard to read during the day lol.
This stupid issue happens in both wired and wireless on my Kenwood deck.

Not sure what maps app have you are using but there is usually a setting in the maps app itself to switch to night mode automatically or manually.
I'm using Google maps..

Question Android Auto Bug

Hello XDA Community,
i get desperate every time i start android auto and night falls. The Dark Mode does not turn on automatically. In the developer options of android auto I have already set controlled by vehicle to smartphone. Every time i restart android auto it shows white mode. That's very bad. Some people have had this problem in the past, but I couldn't find a solution. Everything is up to date and of course with a pixel 7 pro. Is there an app where you can do tasks? that you have a link or app that can set this manually every time?
Theres a setting in the AA settings to pick dark mode light or automatic, works all the time
Yes, this is what i mean. Bur it is not switching automatically
