Is it possible to flash AT&T SM-G930A Android 8.0, baseband version G930AUCS9CSB1 to latest Sprint firmware? Reason why I need to do this is because sprint doesnt work on the att s7 sm-g930a. Maybe if i flash it to sprint firmware, it might work with sprint sim?
Any help would be really appreciated.
Thank you

How about SM-G930U firmware?
I disagree, it should be possible so long as you're flashing the same version of Android or higher.
You'll need a patched Odin to get around mismatch errors https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/software/patched-odin-3-13-1-t3762572
Then you can get the G930P firmware from https://updato.com/firmware-archive-select-model?q=SM-G930P&rpp=15&order=date&dir=desc&exact=1 or your preferred host.
G930U should be possible as well.

Thank you. I was able to flash BOTH G930P and G930U without any issue. i had to use Odin3_v3.13.1_3B_PatcheD
Thank you. Now i just need to get my sprint sim card unlocked.

you can flash any firmware you want on any of the same model phone you feel so inclined, but the G930A will never work on sprint and the G930P will only work on at&t if you unlock the domestic sim capabilities, but will not use full LTE, only HSPA+
The G930P/U/T/V are all identical hardware, firmware is the only thing that separates them.
If it's SIM unlocked and running the correct firmware, there is no reason it won't use the full carrier capabilities.
I have the phone SIM unlocked, it accepts the sprint card, i think i just left it in there for long period of time while phone was sim locked that sprint sim card got LOCKED. i think i have to either get new sim card from sprint or get the sim card unlocked by sprint. The phone is network unlocked by att.

youre going to find that the radio firmware differs and doesnt allow for full LTE support on the CDMA capable versions. Also, the A version doesnt do CDMA, so no. They ARE different. I sold them for a while. They are NOT the same phone

Samsung has built different hardware versions of the same phone for the USA galaxy line because of the CDMA vs GSM thing since inception of the galaxy line. So, no. Youre wrong

seriously doubt that. if the sprint sim was active the entire time, its not at all likely, but sprint has done stranger things than that. sprint should give you a new sim at no cost, so all it would take is a drive to one of their stores, or if you dont have one near by, then they might charge to mail one to you. I would personally try putting it back in a sprint phone and see if it works. If it does, you know what your problem is. The phone. Unlocking the P variants has proven to be troublesome and some people think they have it unlocked with the junk number sprint gives you when you call them. Most people have had to resort to third party unlocker services fwiw

thats exactly what i was telling everyone. You cant use the 930A on sprint. The only thing you CAN get to work is data, but no vox or text. And even data would require unlocking such as what www.idoneapps.com does, but you have to pay them $35 for that. But that is on the G930P, not the G930A(which is SIM unlocked, but doesnt have a CDMA radio)

heey everyone i have some questions about this rooting and rom stuff..i just bought one of these 3d ( already unlocked (rogers) ) phones from kijiji and i see you can customize it with these roms and rooting.. my questions are if i root it and/or hard reset the phone will i need a new unlock code to use with my carrier (bell)? and if I dont need to re-enter a new code to work with my carrier (bell) can i get rid of these unwanted apps by doing this?? cant seem to find a real answer here lol
XBSA vR3D ROM is based on the Rogers version of ICS. Yes you can delete whatever you want; by installing the custom ROM, much of that is already done for you. I am not sure what you mean about a code...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2195753
yaah the code for my sim card... so i can use it with another carrier....ie,,,,(bell) because i bought the phone already unlocked..original carrier is rogers....just wondering if i make a custom root orr whatever will that sim lock again?.
For me this was no problem, but I only swapped cards to unlock, no code.
HELPPPP??????

the phone is already unlocked (p925g from ROGERS)....so i can use it with any sim card (MY PROVIDER IS BELL) and i already know how to make a new APN...just simply want to know if I do this will the phone lock again back to original state.(HOW IT CAME FROM ROGERS) AND WILL I HAVE TO PAY TO HAVE IT UNLOCKED AGAIN?????
Yelling is unnecessary. I dunno man, try it and see. If not, an unlock code is like $2 on eBay.
---------- Post added at 10:10 PM ---------- Previous post was at 10:09 PM ----------
And the ROM did not come from Rogers, it was based on Rogers firmware with the bloatware removed by xbsall.
thought i bought a unlocked sm-g930u but looks like I got the T-mobile varient. The model number is SM-G930T on the back glass and that's what shows up when pulling imei but checking in the settings it shows as the SM-G930U. Worked fine for about a month on the straight talk AT&T network and then I got a notification saying "unlock expired, restart required" and then I got the invalid sim notification. Phone is now locked to t-mobile. There's absolutely no T-Mobile bloatware...not even a T-Mobile splash screen. It doesn't have root access...what's going on here? I can't even get a unlock website to take my money lol
Sounds like someone requested a temporary unlock through T-Mobile, then flashed a U variant ROM...then the temporary unlock expired. You got screwed basically.
---------- Post added at 01:18 AM ---------- Previous post was at 01:14 AM ----------
Download the official T-Mobile unlock app from the Play Store and try to permanently unlock it...if that doesn't work...try flashing the official T-Mobile firmware in Odin, then try the unlock app...if that doesn't work, then someone sold you a phone that's still on a payment plan through T-Mobile.
Can you use a Verizon bootloader locked Pixel 2 international? With another simcard?
And is it possible to flash an ota file from Google on it and not the Verizon version? Or is that not needed?
Thanks
I'm pretty sure all phones manufactured after a certain year(think it was 2014) were made so they can be used anywhere. As long as it has the necessary bands. You will not be able to flash other firmware, unless the bootloader gets unlocked and root becomes available...
Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk
The Verizon version is EXACTLY the same as the Google version. It is unlocked and will work anywhere in the world. Since software updates come directly from Google you won't have to worry about getting OTA's either.

Yes, you can use the Verizon version withe the locked bootloader, internationally. I have one in the EU, running on Vodafone. Runs without issues.
Verizon prevents you from getting over the air updates unless you have an activated Verizon sim and the phone comes with a deactivated Verizon sim pre-installed. When I got mine it was two versions behind and on the September security patch. I tried all sorts of tricks to get it to update with my Vodafone sim, with the Verizon sim, but the best I could get it to do was say there was an update available before it bailed out one me. However, using adb and the Google images for OTA's they provide I was able to flash each update no problem using a USB cable.
Hope this helps!

Just an FYI, they are slightly different. The phone itself is carrier unlocked. Any carrier can use the Verizon version just like a non-Verizon version. The difference is the Verizon bootloader is locked down, can't unlock that (unless you got one way early, on 7.1 or something like that). You also only get OTA updates for the Verizon version if you have an active Verizon sim in the phone. Manually updating using the OTA files from Googles website works with ADB, so not a big deal, but makes it a little more manual and technical than it would be otherwise. You'll notice there are different OTA's and different versions used for Verizon's files - keeping them slightly different.

You can't flash images on the Verizon version. The bootloader needs to be unlocked, and that obviously isn't happening. I don't think it matters which sim you have in the Verizon version, you'll get OTA updates no matter what. The phones aren't as different as you guys think. The only reason there are different factory images for the Verizon version is they install Verizon bloat on first boot.

I have a carrier unlocked Note 8. I am currently running stock AT&T firmware. I am trying to figure out how to get the OTA updates on my note. If I need to add a different apn. Does anyone know which one if is? Or is there something else I need to do?
Are you in AT&T network with AT&T sim card (either postpaid or prepaid)?
You can only get OTA from AT&T network server. I know it sucks.
You can borrow AT&T sim card from friends for a few hours if you're using other carrier's sim card. Or flash XAA firmware (unlocked and unbranded).

If you can make a call or use AT&T cellular data,
put this in your phone app: *#8736364#
Then go to Field Test mode.
Change "Device Initiated date" to one or a few minute ahead. wait until you see "SET" then press Home.
Wait until you see software update to kick it.
Try several times if it doesn't work at first.
Still doesn't work? then put your sim card in different phone and turn on for 10min then put it back in your note 8.
Try again.
For your info, my note 8 is unlocked too. And in AT&T network.

Yes trying but don't get prompt to update. AT&T wont help if it's a carrier unlocked phone. Did you have to change your apn at all?
borijess, if I am correct, I think you mean you have an unlocked Note 8 directly from Samsung, right? You then odin AT&T firmware so you have a SM-N950U phone now. If that is true, you will not get OTA update from AT&T. This has been discussed before. AT&T will not put your IMEI on their white list. Only phones bought directly from AT&T will have their IMEI on the white list and those are the phones that will get OTA update. Many people have tried to call AT&T to add their IMEI on the white list but to no avail. We are stuck with odin every update, sorry.

Yes unlocked from Samsung.
Unfortunately, you will not get OTA update. I have tried multiple phone calls to AT&T to put my IMEI on their white list but unsuccessful. AT&T are on that power trip to try to force customers to buy from them. My contract is up soon and will definitely switch. Anyway, I have been doing odin since I got the phone to update.

I could pull AT&T OTA update on Red Pocket (GSMA plan). Red Pocket has same MNC MCC as AT&T.
I have been working on the sim unlock for the gm1915 for some time now. And could really use the help of our community. My Oneplus7 Pro is still financed, it was bought on ebay and can't be activated. So now I'm at the point that no messages pop up for the sim and I have some service but it won't register on the Network. Attached is the firehose I extracted from the .OPS Tmobile msmdownload on here. I don't think it's anywhere on line so enjoy my time well spent. The best way to use it is with QFIL then you can manage all the partitions as needed. I could really use a efs or qcn from a unlocked tmobile Op7P just make Sure u know how to clean out the imei. For your own benefits.
Update..
By digging into the unlock i found way more then i exspected . It seems there is a wrapper on the system. If anyone has noticed the Alarm or the Wake_lock .it all starts up after the very first boot ,with the gboard. Gboard and all the otheres are bonded together buy location services . This is all the gmscore .and when one is tripped by the alarm that is the wake_lock (clock) they all know. And the simlock is android auto that is part of the hidden apps. I found a whitelist.xml showing them all.when the wrong sim is entered the alarm is tripped and call is made to honk the horn, this is the simlock wallpaper that pops up.Also its swiches the sim id to emergency only. The carrier plmns used to lock are located and tyed to game mode,I have found a vulnerablity in the gmscore and have been able to pull it all. There is just way to much more to go into. All of these items have to be cleard to simunlock ,this is why the Tmobile rom is needed. If in the process somthing is done wrong and tripps the alarm the phone will reset the lock and sometimes reboot and not start back up.
heres the Firehose files
Update, by erasing the modemst1 and modemst2 it deleats the sim lock. And don't effect the IMEI at all. But by erasing them it clears all the uim configurations. Restoring efs with twrp goes back to locked. I'm in the process of rebuilding the missing NV- items one by one and should have a fully functional Sim Unlock for the T-Mobile OP7p. After doing all I have I might just have a working bypass for most T-Mobile locked qualcomm devices using the unlock app.
Nice work

I have a unlocked modemst we can play with. We may be able to push this. As I saw you tried to zero modemst out just like I did. It does sim unlock the device for sure. But as stated it also won't properly read a sim as I believe nv is screwed up. If we can combine some of this I bet we do it. I gots a few ideas as well. If any one is willing to try stuff and such. Mines already unlocked. I got mine done directly from tmobile so I can't out right test my other ideas any more

wont work, i have went as far as erasing the full ufs even the gpt tables, and then writing back , the problem is the device encrypts the modemst1 and 2 using the hardware id .and that ID is hardcoded to the SOC and cant be changed , so u cant write another modemst1 and 2 to another device. the lock flag is encrypted inside them. I have been able to unlock the gm1925 sprint model .have locked and unlocked the same device 3 times now with sprints server.and just have to write the efs back to lock. even have a full log of the process. its just that im out of my range of exspertease and im haveing to learn as i go.
