Friends, help solve the problem!
After upgrading to android 9.0, Google services stopped working. I tried everything I could, eventually asked the seller in China - he answered : For chinese firmware, because the Google company prohibit the user installing GMS by themselves, after upgrading to EMUI9.0 (Android 9.0), the Google Play services will stop working. please do not update to 9.0.
Maybe there are some ways to circumvent this ban?

Try the PC utility HiSuite to downgrade from EMUI 9.0 to 8.0. HiSuite was developed by Huawei and you can find it on the Huawei official website.
also me can not open any of google services after uploading to android 9.0.1

How did you downgrade exactly ?
Thanks !
Hi every one,
As many of you i suffered with my phone updating to EMUI 9, i tried a lot, searched a lot and finnaly found out the solution:
Step 1
You need to downgrade your phone to any version previous to 9.1.0.201, i used 9.1.0.189. They way to do it was usign FirmwareFinder and DNS update to force the installation of that version.
Step 2
One the phone booted, download the security patch update, anfter that phone finds 9.1.0.201, update
Step 3
I read in a chinesse forum that the LZPLAY method only works in this firmware, but its half true. in this version do the lzplay method (using hisuite restore ) .
After you install all the apks, and the lzPlay app gets device administrator permissions, reboot. At this point the phone is already runing EMUI 9 and google services and apps working, but the phone still finds a newer update 9.1.216, in that version you can not directly use the lzplay method as it fails with a "device not compatible" message in chinesse
Step 4
One you validated all google apps work and you have logged in with your google account, its safe to accept the last firmware update, at the end you will have the latest build and google apps working.

I noticed some annoying bugs in Emui, so I thought "hey, why don't reinstall the OS" I tried it over HiSuite but it didn't worked out. After that i noticed the "download the full current package" button in System update. The button does nothing, is this normal? I'm just confused asf, the Mate 9 is my first device so idk. I also noticed that Huawei isnt offering the full roms anywhere where the public can find it easily. OnePlus & Samsung did a better job there... Is there even an easy way to reinstall the OS or update it manually?

Yes. It is normal when System Update doesn't download "full package", cause it checks current and choose not download same version.
And yes. Huawei doesn't offer full ROMs in easy places. They post all ROMs on HiCloud (Huawei Cloud Resource) silently. In a few cases they can post ROMs on Huawei official site, but it is too rare.
Huawei thinks that no necessary to told everyone that new version is coming, cause they are using method with OTA updates.
And no. There is no easy way to reinstall OS or update manually, but with some exceptions.
Current free method uses modified recovery to force update. It requires bootloader unlock procedure (unlock forces factory reset procedure). Additionally method requires some knowledge how whole process is running.
There is paid method also. It is easy in general and you should DNS setup only. But a few percents are choosing pay for service what helps people to install free ROMs.

The easy place to download firmware is firmware finder on Google play store they have all Huawei firmware for all model...
Or we have this site
http://hwmt.ru/oth/HWFF/info/view.php?find_model=
Find your model number and download it.
And for finish we have a very very easy way to force re-installing firmware without root or flash recovery or paid solution or unlock bootloader... It's the 3 button method !!!
Create a folder in external SD card, call him dload and put firmware (update.app) in, turn off your phone press volume down + volume up + power in the same time and voilà
Sorry for my bad english

Huawei Firmware Finder is private project of enthusiasts. They don't host any firmware and only help people to find ROM in HiCloud. But question from idealfall1 was why Huawei isnt offering the full roms anywhere where the public can find it easily. Other manufacturers do it.

Do you have Mate 9? Did you try install something with 3-button method? I tried many times. It is not working.
In case of Mate 9 Huawei added special tag "UPDATE_ONLINE" in rom. And most roms are with this tag will not install via 3-button...

If you are right, so it is very good news!
5 or 6 months nobody can't install roms via 3-button. There are only 3 service ROMs with tag "offline_update".

Ok, conclusion time. Mate 9 users cannot update via 3-button because of this special flag/string. Does the firmware finder work? It's technically an online update, right? I'm a little bit confused... Firmware Finder found for me some FWs from june... Can I install them? Sorry I'm not looking through this mess xD
When I buy it they are in b126 version and upload on b138 but if the 3 button method don't work for update firmware like you say may be can work for him because he want flash the same version of firmware, are you fellow my reasoning ?

If you're using FF, you must know that it forces ROM to system update.
Workflow is simple:
1. Find ROM
2. Force to system update
System Update will download ROM by self, like update is coming from Huawei officially.
But Huawei prevents this trick on very new ROMs and additionally checks for authorization.
In it's turn, FF can check ROM too, tries to reproduce Huawei's routine.
So, if you want install latest rom, you have to use method with modified recovery to force update.
If you want install old ROM - force update via FF.
P.s. We are all huaweied

Yeah. Good idea.
Three button reset does not work with the Mate 9.
It just doesn't.
You can only factory reset if you're on stock.
That applies to ALL stock firmware as far as I know.
Please I need help, last week I installed EMUI 9.0.1.158 on my MHA-L29 but I wasn't so impressed so I rolled back to 8.0.0.379 (by using HiSuite) and now I changed my mind but can't get to update anymore. You receive the OTA?
I'm stuck on 8.0.0.376, do I need to upgrade via the spoof method to "latest" 8.0.0.xxx THEN try a full/partial 9.0 OTA?
Ive tried partial OTAs from 9.0 that are approved = hisuite says update failed.
Ive tried 1 full OTA from 9.0 that is approved = hisuite downloads passes all ok, phone reboots = verification failed (I assume phone is NOT connecting to internet on eRecovery phase right? but you never know. Since I'm only spoofing on windows not on the router).

New regions for 9.0 on the Mate 9 has been released at the start of June 3rd. In the next week, I guess we'll see who gets it
9.0.1.191(C432) has been approved for installation on FF, so the update should arrive during the coming days/weeks.
9.0.1.191 (C432) is approved for installation, I tried install via the firmware finder eRecovery method but the udpate stuck at downloading 0%

It's quite strange that Middle East variant i.e. C185 has received the update since March and the Europe region is still waiting for the update. Whereas previously it was totally opposite.
Update: After wasting an hour and download the approved 9.0.1.191 via eRecovery from Firmware Finder, the package gave "Package Authentication Failed Error" on 99%.

Yes I performed the procedure a couple of days ago on a Chinese MatePad Pro WiFi following this guide: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lYOU_YxrHhc and using the zip file he links to.
It worked perfect after a couple of reboots and some patience.
A similar text version of the procedure: https://www.huaweiblog.de/news/huawei-google-installieren-anleitung-neu/
Have anyone try it on wifi version? which one is the best to install?
I don't have an OTG adapter as per the guide. Can you still use the Backup Method (using HiSuite) to install LZPlay with this method (https://www.huaweiblog.de/news/huawe...anleitung-neu/)?
Edit: I can confirm this method works. I now have GMS on my MatePark Wifi (UK) using the HiSuite and the method linked. All I did was swap installing LZPlay by OTG by using HiSuite.
Good afternoon all,
How we can update google play services. I try to do it by downloading the apk file but the machine hangs and exist the installation.
Any idea ?
GMS installed on UK Matepad Pro WiFi
As also mentioned in the article. I used https://www.huaweiblog.de/news/huawei-google-installieren-anleitung-neu/ to get GMS installed.
I did factory reset as the first attempt without reset did not work for the LzPlay part.

I tried a lot of different methods, non of them works, I still get error notifications, I solved this by disabling the Google play services, but now I get "Device is not Play Protect certified".
I'll try your method if it still works.
update: not working.
I have the same issue, with my official MatepadPro wifi no method works, I always factory reset and have tried four methods and none result in working GMS.
I think we will need to wait for a working solution for non chinese Matepad pro's......

I managed to install, but with lots of repeated resets in a few hours.
As mentioned in the video, you can't add another G account after activating the play store. So you need to add all your accounts from the beginning.
- I found that G News, G Duo and interestingly MS Authenticator does not work.
- Backing up your device to your G account is also disabled.
My other applications works well. If I find other exceptions will share.

Mine is international version and worked. Try again and do all steps mentioned in the video (sorry forum doesn't let me give the link for the video)
Trick: Check "Device Id" app frequently after losing device id, stop reinstalling (i think the 7th apk) when it shows the id back and continue to next step. I didn't stop once that step and had to repeat everything from start.

What is your version? I'm thinking to buy it in Italy.
I am from Czech Republic. I have it from official Huawei store. 6 GB RAM, 128 GB, LTE
I used the same method but the LZPlay app stated it doesn't support my device. I am using Matepad LTE (global) version. Can anyone help?
As the Release of the MatePad Pro is scheduled for 25.05.2020 in Austria (according to MediaMarkt and Saturn Webpages) I am wondering if this method still works. I am currently thinking about getting it either in Austria or Italy (as you get the Type Cover and the Pen for Free).
My second question is the use of the notifications some Apps use. Are the working or do I need another How-To for that and loose the Google Play Store and opt for another Store like Aurora?

same problem here for me...
I have opened this thread here in case someone with a Mate 40 or with a Mate 30 Pro recently acquired with EMUI 11 has managed to install Google services, and what method you have used.
My Mate 30 Pro 5G is updated to EMUI 11 with factory reset, but I can't find a method that works for me.
I have tried with the Spanish Eloy Gomez but I can't even do the first step because I can't install 2 Backup apk files that Eloy himself asks for.
This is due to the fact that previously I had to uninstall the original Backup app that comes in my Mate 30 Pro, but after wanting to install the 2 apks, the Huawei shows me an ERROR message: "That most recent app already exists on your device . Uninstall it and proceed again "... but I CAN'T find it because I already uninstalled it.
And so on all the time :crying: :crying: :crying:
My Mate 30 Pro has updated to EMUI 11 so I have to find the Google Services restore at Mate 40 forum because the Mate 40 series are running by EMUI 11 OS.
I got it !!!!!
Downgrade to EMUI 10.1 with HiSuite !!!! and I followed Eloy Gomez way !!!!!
You must have a typo there
Eloygomeztv method only works on 10........ Something not on 10.1
How you updated back to 10.1 post downgrade.

My Mate 30 Pro updated to EMUI 11 last night and GMS is still working. I had downloaded the GMS from Dee Kosh. Watch Youtube for the steps.
Received EMUI 11 via the OTA on my Mate 30 Pro, all is working as it did before. GMS is not deleted nor did it stopped working. I have GMS on my device since 1 full year now without any issue except for some slow or missing push notifications. I can live with this.

This is a video from nov, 2019 ....
GMS on my Mate 30 Pro has been installed by LZplay long time ago and it's working still going through all the updates, EMUI 11 as well, however i see much more battery drain now. On 10 or 10.1 i though that battery is endless however now it looks ok on deep sleep however once I'm starting to do something it goes down faster, do you have similar observations?
I also have GMS with LZ since January 2020 when I bought the phone (International model).
It is my impression that battery is better with 11.0 than with 10.1. In any case it was best with original 10.0.
Anyone figured out how to setup google device policy and use work profile?

Thanks!
Finally I got GMS thanks to a Spanish way from Eloy Gómez.
I lost Play Store to get Push Notifications but I'm using Aurora.

Hi, returned to having Play Store again because I have a CHINESE Mate 30 Pro and the Chinese firmware can get GMS with EMUI 11 and without any downgrade.
I don't remember the firmware I downloaded when I downgrade to EMUI 10 -> 10.1 ... etc. The HiSuite programm on your PC chose the exactly firmware.

I wanna downgrade to 10. Because i wanna install GMS. I have succes downgrade last 2 week on p40 pro.
Now i try first to downgrade first from Hisuite. I have install Hisuite_10.1.0.550, but i dont have the button switch to other version.
if i try to HiSuite Proxy, i recive error:
[15:48:06]: Connection To HISuite Proxy Failed....
[15:48:07]: Check If Your Firewall Is Blocking HISuite's Proxy Server
i have add the app to the firewall, i have stopped the firewall...same
Please help me to figure out.
Hey man. I'm in the same boat. Unfortunately, I don't think we are able to downgrade to a lower version. So, we are stuck without Google. The only negative of not having GMS is the delay or no notifications coming in at all. Hopefully apps will be updated to work well with HUAWEI notification eco system.
Hey bro. I have succed to make it
ช่วยบอกวิธีทำหน่อย thank you
Hey, can you share with us how you downgraded from 11.0.0.188. Thank you.
With hisuite proxy
Thanks. Which firmware version you downgraded to?
Well, after multiple attempts using different firmware versions, the update fails after it has reached the 100% download. Have no clue what else to do. Firewalls are off, antivirus off. Anybody?

I followed this guide: Make sure those selections matches your phones need (region, etc..). If they don't match,..you know what might happen.
Complete Guide
Modifying HiSuite and manipulating it's connection data to install Roms before they officially get released. - ProfessorJTJ/HISuite-Proxy
github.com
BUT like I mentioned at a different thread. If downgrading to 10, Googlefier Wouldn't work. Also, I had lost USB connection and fast/super charge. But I think downgrading to a lower 11 should be ok. But I don't know. If you loose that, just upgrade again.
@robjbw thanks for answering. It will help everyone.
