Is there any way to add better fonts in Android pie, one ui? Personally I'm wanting either just roboto or to try the new Samsung one font? The standard built in fonts are very basic/old fashioned and there are only really cartoony fonts available to purchase. Cheers

Google has blocked overlay(fonts, custom 3rd party themes, etc.) installations on Pie so Samsung had to do the same thing. The only One Ui devices you can still install overlays are S9 and Note9, and those will probably get an update blocked overlay installation too.
I downloaded Samsung Sans back in Oreo and it stayed after upgrade and is still available...

I think only pie updated fonts in the Samsung store are worthy for our phones this time around.

You need to be rooted on the s8 to be able to install overlays and fonts on android pie. I'm on the latest official stock pie with Magisk root and use wingsfonts to install different fonts, there's thousands to choose from.

Latest stockrom for pie can be downloaded from sammobile and flashed through Odin. Then you flash TWRP recovery through Odin and flash Magisk 18.1. In TWRP recovery. I followed these instructions ?

Oreo is just awful, did they not find any Beta testers, all I get is FC's all the time after flashing it 3 times, downgraded.
I received the official Oreo update from T-Mobile and haven't had a single issue with the exception of Oreo not being able to use layers.
No issues here, I've been running it for about two weeks, did you reset your phone after the upgrade?
Substratum doesn't work on Oreo for me. Planning on downgrading to nougat but I don't know which carrier of firmware to download... what is XAC and SPC?? I have an unlocked s8 plus so i don't know which carrier to get

Haven't had any issues with substratum. Did you follow all the new steps. Layers won't work on Oreo but subs do.

Yeah i launched the desktop application, CMD opens, i press a button then substratum launches on my s8 plus. Is that all I'm suppose to do? And what do you mean by subs? I just use system mods and a black theme
Do it have to be plugged into my computer to add themes?

Subs is substratum and yes once substratum launches on your phone just select what you want and it will build and install, no need to reboot like on Nougat. Once the phone is disconnected from your PC you will have to connect the phone to your PC and restart the desktop application to change or add any substratum themes. I'm hoping that they eventually get away from having to use your PC but only time will tell. I left mine plugged in while installing my themes.
Ton of issues for me with Oreo.
I'm not really a very advanced user, but always had rooted devices and two that I flashed Custom Roms. This is my first Samsung, finding Touchwiz to be very different from what I used before.
I bought the S7 (930F) and had the news that it was going to be updated to Oreo, so I decided waiting for the update before tinkering with it.. But the update never came. Finally this month Samsung released the update for my region, so I would like to know which would be the best way for me to start finally using my phone that I bought for over 2 months!
My phone is still with Nougat, is it better for me to get the OTA or to flash the Firmware I downloaded from Sammobile? Any of these methods better than the other in preventing errors? I always found in PCs that a fresh clean install was better than an update, but with mobiles I don't have the experience to say.
My main objective is to experiment before doing a debloat as I'm still not sure what might be useful for me on Samsung's bloat (you are welcome to point me what is useful and what is not).
I did see that some of the Customs ROMS have different camera apps and some people were complaining about this, I particularly liked the S7 camera app and the Pro option, that's what holds me back in flashing a Custom ROM atm.
I would like to Root and I find Unlocked Bootloader to be useful to have Xposed Framework and other things that I can do having it.
As I'm a relative newbie, what would you guys recommend me doing? Please help
tl;dr: I want to have Oreo, be able to debloat, want to root and unlock bootloader, not sure about Custom Rom.
Lineage if you want basic and simple (sort of like stock Android). Resurrection Remix if you're a customisation nut (not a slam... I use RR).
If you wonna full samsung u need flash base firmawre custom roms only 8.0 android
If you dnt need samsung integration (pulsometr doesnt work) you can flash 8.1 roms try cosmic os or Lineage 15
Hi,
Can someone please tell me what is the latest version of OTA update available for Pixel 2016 on Android Oreo 8.1.0 and how to download/Install that? I just flashed 8.1.0 (OPM4.171019.021.P1, Jul 2018) on it from Android Factory Images site. I don't want to Install Android Pie on it yet as xposed framework can not be installed on Pie yet. Please advise, thanks.
You can download the entire factory image from the official site, or download the ota from the other official page.
The last one 8.1 is the one from july. If you need to flash it after wipe, go with the factory image, if you just need to update from an older one, go with the ota.
Anyway, a sort of "unofficial" Xposed for Pie is available since january, called EdXposed.
In this thread there is the list of working and not-working modules, and it's always up to date.
I already tested it, and it's working pretty good. Also, EdXposed doesn't trip safetynet, while the classic Xposed does.
Just flash in magisk the 2 zips, install the manager and reboot.

Thanks, Trento.
Couple of quick points to confirm, so no other official update of Oreo on Pixel (Sailfish) came out since July 2018? and it will have to be updated to Pie to get any more security patches/updates after July 2018?
if so, it is kinda strange if no monthly or quarterly update for a last major Android release from Google on their own devices for people who for some reasons still want to stick with that? I know I was getting updates on my good old Nexus 5 on Stock Marshmallow long after release of Android Nugget 7.0.
Also, Xposed Framework installed as a module via Magisk also trips SafetyNet check in Android?
Thanks again!
Yes, that's how google makes updates, since a newer version of android came out all the security stuff and updates are only in the newer version. No more Oreo updates.
No matter how you flash the original Xposed , system or systemless it will always trip saferynet.
Things are different with EdXposed, safetynet passes so you can use all your apps with no problems at all

I will give a try to EdXposed on Pie today and see how it goes. I just can't go without a few Xposed modules installed, i.e. GravityBox, xRenamer, and couple of others, Thanks for the info.
Hi,
I want to buy a cyberpunk edition and i want to know. If it is with hydrogen os or oxygen os ?
If i flash it on oxygen ose, did i loose the special theme and Addons ?
Thanks
OnePlus 8t cyberpunk help.
Hi guy, I'm in the same boat have the opportunity to buy a Cyberpunk edition but have not because I've been told hydrogen os is for China and not a lot can translate to English ? Is this true and I'd loose Google apps ... Editor Dan Lin's latest article says they can all be loaded on is this correct ?
I'm having trouble understanding having a awesome phone like this if you can't upgrade to oxygen os and loose all the cool themes and ui what would be the point ...
So I'd love some in depth clarification of what is going on with these 2 os.
Will you be able to load the cyberpunk ui later in a patch to oxygen os ? So many questions so many review and unboxing but know one is talking about the right topics
Wait for this guy to perfect the conversion

I just made sure to have my whole phone setup with gapps from the latest global updates. Then when i converted I was able to keep all Google apps. A format nukes them but with root and magisk gapps from flame gapps I was able to get gapps back

In the past, some people extract the oneplus 6t mc laren animations to put it in other 6t.
Perhaps it's possible ?
Or in h2s IS it possible to put gapps ? And other language ?

Where to read dan lin's article
Mine should arrive this week or next, so in the same boat. If English support is optimal and Google Apps can be flashed, I'd like to keep it as close to stock as possible. Has anyone else had experience with HydrogenOS on this phone?

I was that guy. I left xda right after that and only returned for 7t Resurrection Remix posts. This will be possible, but won't be done through a mod or it won't be 100%. Yes you can flash magisk gapps. Or with our mod you flash overtop oos and already have gapps. As you can see I'm running latest h2os with cyberpunk resources intact. Locked bootloader and no root. On a normal 8t Global. H2os is normal like oos, but tons of bloat. Once you get rid of it it's ok. But...I don't know about any article, but even with your cyberpunk 8t, it will run h2os and if you flash oos over it you will not keep cyberpunk resources and features.

Yes it only comes with h2os, so if I were you and needed gapps flash these:
https://sourceforge.net/projects/fl....0-basic-arm64-20201108-ALPHA-12.zip/download
Or whatever is recent when you get yours. You install thru magisk. Microg is an option too
Ok thanks
Seems a bad choice from a sales point of view not to be able to run there new Os and keep the cyberpunk themes .. and with new more updated phone coming 2021 the cyberpunk phone will die as everyone will want the latest and greatest not outdated due to a theme. I have a oppo find X2 pro and was ready to swap for the cyberpunk but if you can't get gapps and keep the themes of the phone. Just disappointed.
Is putting the the gapps a simple process or long and tedious ?

The same as you would any other way with magisk. I don't have any modules or root or bootloader unlocked.
Hey guys,
So, I got an 8T Cyberpunk Edition two days ago. And I try to convert Hydrogen OS into Oxygen OS, I downloaded an europe Oxygen OS from here(I did not root the device or unlock bootloader, just download the zip file only), then I copied the zip file to root directory of the device and used "Local Update" to update the phone. After finished, I restarted the device. But I was stuck at booting screen, so I cleaned the "System setting/cache" or even "Format the device". I thought I will see the Oxygen logo after doing those steps, but it never happen. As a result, the Cyberpunk logo came up and still go into Hydrogen OS.
I tried like 5 times using "Local Update", not working at all. I was mad, and then I try to install Qualcomm USB driver(9008 driver?) and then follow the instruction here, and finally it became Oxygen OS, no more Cyberpunk loading screen. I was very happy and then try to apply the latest update from "System Update", it does show me there is a "11.0.4.5" version, so I downloaded it and installed and then restarted. Interesting thing happen again, I saw the Cyberpunk loading screen again. And I was stuck at the loading screen again. In order to pass the loading screen I have to clean "System setting/cache". Then I can access the device again and not seeing any Cyberpunk logo.
So, when I thought everything is finally working now, it wasn't. I went to the "System Update" again and try to see if there is any update, but I saw the same "11.0.4.5" version which I just updated. It seems the update is not working, so I went to "About phone" and confirmed that it was NOT updated. Again I tried several times, not working at all. It just like something under the hood keep resetting the device to the factory status.
Until anyone found a solution for this issue, I think I would have to keep using the version inside the unbrick tool I mentioned above. It will be great if OnePlus release an official Cyberpunk version of Oxygen OS later. Let's wait.

Installing stock software won't change anything, it will still have all the Samsung bloatware. Flashing stock software might get rid of bloatware from your carrier such as the Verizon based apps that are installed on Verizon's devices and other carrier based services and apps.
If you want something that is a little more lean and stripped down, that can only be done by flashing modified stock ROMs or true custom ROMs, but that requires an unlocked bootloader, custom recovery and/or root.

You can't use any kind of custom ROM, you can only use stock ROMs based on your stock firmware that someone has modified and only if a modified stock ROM exists for your specific device model. I don't know if any exist for your device or if there is a working method to install them on your device. You'll have to research that yourself, I'm just telling you what you can and can not use so that you don't go looking for the wrong thing.
