The deal has expired and AT&T is now out of earbuds also.

Check the classifieds "offer up" app locally in your area. Although I get my free pair in weeks, I bought another new pair for $100 on offer up yesterday. Some are getting theirs from Samsung and passing them off on the classifieds.

Target is selling Captivates for $49.99 until thursday the 23rd.

I just got mine last night, the total was $76.83 after I turned in my old Fuze. So I think the $300 savings was worth the early christmas gift to myself. The sale is only until thursday though. They have the same deal for various other Android powered phones, but only through Target stores. Get on it!
Yup, in fact I see it now listed for free with a new contract.
radio shack has them for $49 right now as well.
Amazon has it for a penny - http://wireless.amazon.com/Samsung-Captivate-Android-Phone-AT/dp/B003TLMQG8
I took a print out of the page and took it to my local ATT wireless store and they price matched it. Also gave me free activations.

Got my wife one on this deal too. I keep her's running stock 2.1 rooted, gives me device to use to get to the market when my 2.2 Cappy can't find an app.
Got mine yesterday, free activation, gave them $49.99 cash, I now have a new captivate.
Will never moth ball my Tilt though.
Just called Radio Shack and they are giving me a refund of the difference for the Cappy I bought last week for $99 when Amazon Wireless totally screwed up their chance to sell me a phone. That's good customer service!

Really? That sucks. Sorry to hear that. The manager at my local corporate store was very accommodating.

Yeah, it makes no sense that I can buy the phone cheaper from Amazon or Radio Shack rather than directly from AT$T. You'd think that since they ultimately have to deal with any service issues that they'd prefer to have been the one to have sold the phone to the customer instead of a 3rd party.

[Q] Bought S3 from Amazon. Do I have to use their sim card?

I am expecting my S3 to arrive from Amazon today. Are there any advantages/disadvantages to using the sim card they send with it opposed to getting one from the Verizon store?
I guess what I am asking is if there are any strings attached or anything like that if I use the sim card amazon provides?
Thanks!

It is a standard Verizon sim. Contract is still Verizon. Amazon just the retailer. Same as if you went to Best Buy, Radio Shack or the Verizon store.

Ok, thank you! Wasn't sure if it would have any sort of extra strings attached or anything!
This has nothing to do with the sim but just be aware if the phone was discounted and you dont complete the 2yr agrement with verizon, amazon will charge you up to $250 for early cancellation. They try and get their money back they ate giving the discount. My friend got hit with that crap which is sort of dumb but does make sense.

Thanks! Yep, knew about that, but I think it is a 6 month thing, not the full 2 years. I plan on keeping the phone anyway, so I shouldn't have to worry much about that unless something extraordinary happens.

negative, just verizon. i think they are giving a big FU to the 3rd parties. usually 3rd parties have stock within one week after carrier launch.
Yep, only Corporate Stores or online at the moment. Best Buy and 3rd party stores have none.

How do you tell is a store is a corporate or not? Besides walking in and asking to see the Ultra.

I just ordered it from The Cellular Connection on Friday. They said they had them in their warehouse and I would receive on Tuesday or Wednesday. I'll believe it when I see it.
I was at a Best Buy today buying a Chromecast and while they didn't have any Ultras or Maxxs they did have a sign up advertising the Maxx. I didn't ask but I assume that means they'll have it soon.

LOL I received mine yesterday and I totally agree.
I got some headphones in my tmobile one. There white tho
I have noticed this trend for the Note series in AT&T at least... my brother got the Note 2 and Note 3 from AT&T and they did not come with headphones. For some reason they are anti-head phones. Anyways, all T-Mobile Notes come with phones. (I have the T-Mobile Edge & work at T-Mobile).

I was bored today and called Samsdum and AT&T. The latter gave me a $50 credit on my bill lol
Got some really nice ones with my TMO device.....maybe should not blame Samsung, and instead AT&T.....just another way that company is milking its customers for more money
True, but Samsdum really does not have any customer service department and their tech support, well.........I trust my 10 year nephew's advise more than most on the "support" AT&T is a company that definitely does nothing without making a dime. As a consumer, bahhhhh
As a stock holder. You go AT&T lol lol

All I got from AT&T is a $10 credit.... Oh well, something is better than nothing. LoL
Wait . . .
You're telling me that AT&T is not only charging the highest price (as of now) for the Edge ($946 off contract, $106 more than Sprint), but they're also NOT including the earbuds? What the actual <expletive>.
The buds cost $7.50. So they credit $10

I must be institutionalized by AT&T after 10 years and don't even expect earbuds! I prefer higher end ones anyway, so no biggie for me.

I'd agree with that. Would be happy to see a set of premium quality or say for example rebadged Ety's etc . That would be super. In fact really should be expected at this price point.
But if it's just going to be the usual junk, them better they just spare the environment, save their money and don't waste people's time.
Thank Heaven for YouTube!

While considering my Note Edge purchase, I saw a YouTube first look unboxing which helped me. It depends on whether you purchased it directly from a carrier (I have Sprint) or from a third party who gets it from Samsung. In Sprint's case, they repackage the Note Edge in their own box and remove the earphones. I got mine from Best Buy and it is the original Samsung box with earphones. I agree that carriers are pulling all kinds of tricks to up their bottom line. We pay enough for service without ripping us off on the small stuff as well!

Well that worked out well for the OP but what about the rest of us? Last year samsung screwed us over with the S2 release. Why am I surprised they did the same this year? Foolish me.
