I live in europe, but not in UK. Does anyone have ideas about how I should get my hands on the Nexus S, when it becomes available?
Any thoughts are most welcome
If you can wait, then sign up here: https://services.google.com/fb/forms/nexuss/
If you're in a hurry, then there are a few options:
1. Best Buy + delivery service like http://www.aramex.com/shopandship/default.aspx
2. eBay. Prices are about $730 now, I'd wait a bit.
3. Wait for somebody local to import a load of phones and sell on at higher price.
Carphone warehouse, vodafone contract only tho

Please inform us if you will recieve a phone ..
A lot of friends bought iPhone 4 in Apple store in other country and they recieved it via freight forwarders. It would be strange if Nexus S can be bought in this way, because they will only lower their sales.
According to this review, it will be available in EU in February and it will have lower price than Galaxy S i9000:
http://www.mobile-review.com/review/google-nexus-s-en.shtml
Also at that time Samsung will unveil i9100..

Huh. Disappointing, and smells of politics
Well, if BB don't want my money, then I will happily take it elsewhere. There might be an initial rush, but come January it will not be difficult to get one online, no matter where you live. Well, perhaps if you're on the ISS.
I think you can use site like MyUSABox (http://www.myusabox.com/), but personally I don't have experience with it. Don't know if anyone can comment about the site

Seems pretty unlikely.
I'm pretty sure they are unable to block credit cards by country.
If your credit card belongs to an established network (Visa or Mastercard for example), the payment should go through smoothly.
I'll be placing an order as soon as the Nexus S is in stock at best-buy.com, I'll keep you guys posted regarding the payment.

I find no mention of warranty anywhere at all at Google, eBay or Best Buy. US warranties tend to be short, so I'd guess a phone sold in Greece would have a longer warranty, but at a higher price.

That will probably never happen. If you could buy loads of stuff somewhere at $530, would you sell them on eBay at the same price?

Even though Rogers will sell the phone outright, it will still be carrier locked to Rogers and you will need to be a customer of theirs.
Best thing to do would be to arrange a private sale from someone who is a customer and can grab units.
Best of luck,

If you know someone in Canada, you could have Rogers ship to them, and then they could ship to you. If I knew you, I'd buy it and ship it through our company's UPS account.
There's "gotta" be a way.

I don't know if HTC's like Samsung but they won't repair a carrier phone that's still under warranty. They direct you back to the carrier. That could be a big problem if your Rogers phone breaks and you're not a customer. Something to check out before pulling the trigger.

true, but for 10 bucks a month it's cheap. i can seriously take a phone with black tie outside the building, smash it on the ground, and walk back in to get another one. very useful for, say, a bricked phone. i'm friends with the workers up there, they said a guy with an iphone literally does this once a month just to have a clean screen...
believe me, i don't understand, but like said, cheap and great!

How used can it really be? The phone isn't even out. Engineering build, maybe. Someone here should have snapped that up to see if it was S-OFF.

Is the timing of the respective countries releasing the new Gear as haphazard as their software updates.
In particular looking for a UK release date and actual prices in £s not the conversions being quoted.

Pre order in the UK on 29th October for availability for 12th November. S2 will be £249 and classic £50 more.
Good to see a date, although no clear when they ship - still stupid to launch a marketing campaign for something you could not even buy or pre order.

Official information about UK availability
As always no information on the Samsung uk website
More pricing confusion of the good variety though.

Release seems to be late in the UK for this?? You can always order from amazon.de using your same account info... Just a thought.
I am planning on getting one from amazon (US) and use it here in Europe.
Will there be any issues?
It's not like a phone where you have different bands - so I guess it should be no problem. But I also don't want to through 300 bucks out off the window.

The US version runs on a different firmware. Noticable differences are lack of different language support (OK if you're English or Spanish I guess?) and temperature is displayed in F and not C. Firmware updates may also be an issue...
Thanks.
Only English wouldn't be a problem. Fahrenheit could get annoying.
Is there a way to change firmware? Why should updates be an issue (US are always the first to get it)?
Cool thanks for the tip.

I imported one from amazon.com. Got here real quick and actually works out more expensive then what you will be paying in the UK. I can confirm that asking for weather reports always brings back results in Fahrenheit. One side note S-voice is terrible compared to android wear voice search.

Any info on delivery of your Classic?
I ordered the Classic via Samsung with a voucher SAMUK5 for 5% off and possibly Quidco 8% - says card would not be billed until they confirm shipment but already charged my card !!!
Benefit of going Samsung direct is if it really is as crap as I think then it will be getting returned.

Excited as my one due to arrive tomorrow.
Anyone seen the new LG Urbane specifications it has LTE calling by all account to become a Google feature.
Well done Samsung once again you cooked up.
I am interested in pre-ordering the Gear S3, but wanting to purchase it with some type of Warranty Plan similar to Buy Buy's Protect Plan. Best Buy, however, is no longer taking Pre-Orders so now I am trying to decide if I should wait for Best Buy or just go ahead with Amazon or Samsung. My wife and I both had Motorolla 360's Gen 1, hers with the Protect Plan mine without but luckily when she had the infamous back cracking she was able to return/exchange it.
Anyone have any thoughts on it? I am thinking waiting for Best Buy may be best, bit no ideas when they might carry stock again.
Brad
You can get a warranty from Square Trade. It's expensive, a claim will cost about 1/3 the price of the watch, but it is available.
Thanks, I do not have experience with Square Trade but that may be an option. I may wait until Best Buy stocks it considering how well they do support their warranty program.

They are out of stock now for the Frontier at least, I went to Best Buy yesterday and the Geek Squad guy didn't know when they would get more in stock.
To be clear, Best Buy has run out of their initial pre-order allotment of the S3 Frontier model and it is now showing as "coming soon" rather than having a pre-order button.
The S3 Classic is still available for pre-order, and is functionally identical to the Frontier. The difference is in the style and finish.
As has been mentioned previously, the Frontier LTE version will be available through cellular carriers.
@Dodge DeBoulet Yes, that is more accurate. I want both, considering my day job and my weekend fun but I believe the Frontier to be more universal.

If you're in the US and can wait until November 20th, Samsung has the Frontier (Bluetooth) listed as a Black Friday special for $299 ... $50 off. Who knows when it will ship, though
Well that's interesting. I am in the US, I am now considering the LTE version as well and wondering when T-Mobile might have it. I just need to order it before the end of December.

I want the LTE version too, but Verizon is my provider. I can't get any information out of them as to whether they're even going to offer it. I may just end up going with the BT version if they don't announce something before 11/20.
I figure for the same price why not? So the major perk of the LTE device is you can make calls with the phone as well?
Still out of stock (This post claimed it was in stock 5 minutes ago because Best Buy let me put it into my cart, however removed it one I tried to pay for it)

Friday, the 18th. $399 plus $5 a month for data.
Anyone knows when it will be available in any european Amazon ?
I pre-ordered the non-LTE Frontier on Amazon for $349 and now it's $439. I have a suspicion my pre-order will be cancelled soon.
So, for those that are wondering whether or not Verizon will be carrying the LTE version of the S3 Frontier, I may be able to offer a ray of hope.
Bear with me ...
The model number of the AT&T version of this watch is SM-R765A
The model number of the T-Mobile version is SM-R765T
From the above, I'm going to hazard a guess that the model number of the Verizon version will be
(wait for it)
SM-R765V
And lookie here ... http://www.samsung.com/us/support/answer/ANS00061443/
