Thank you so very much, Mr. uraniam9. You just saved me a hell lot of work restoring my phone. God bless you.
I just can't make Edxposed work, system hangs on the Samsung animated logo. Device is SM-J730G/DS running stock official with Magisk 20.3 and latest TWRP for my device. I'm getting this problem flashing both sandhook or that other one I forgot it's name.

Installing Magisk in a Dual Boot Environment:
Things you need
(i advise to save all to your external card if you have one so it wont be erased):
Need to Create:
primary rom
secondary rom
gapps (unless you prefer one in link)
gapps in secondary (dual)
included in following link:http://www.mediafire.com/folder/95yswgomsz3d3/Magiskdualboot
gapps aroma(both normal and dual)
no verity zip(both normal and dual)
su remove(both normal and dual)
magisk 14.3 dualboot
dualbootutilities(just in case something goes wrong)
Dual boot patcher app
Step One:
Assuming your on the latest twrp for this rom (check official twrp app)
you will want to go to wipe in twrp and wipe data,
reboot to recovery, wipe advanced options and wipe everything except internal storaage and external storage then reboot into recovery again
Step 2:install primary rom,no verity,gapps,remove su addon,and magisk 14.3 dualboot zip.
(when everything loads set it up as you would normally making sure everythings up to date from play store, magisk manager update, etc
Step 3:install every magisk module you wish to have and reboot (once rebooted go into modules and unclick everything and reboot)
Step 4:get a root file manager and go into /data/adb in the root folder (make a copy of magisk.img and put on your sdcard)
step 5:install dual boot patcher app,run it,grant permission and when it asks to set kernal do so (everytime you change a rom it may ask you to set kernal)
step 6:use the patch zip file to patch your primary rom as an upgrade, then flash the patched primary rom then reboot to system (this allows nonconflict with other roms to avoid error and enables app sharing on the app)
step 7:assuming you downloaded the secondary rom,go to patch zip file section in the patcher app and add flash file and select your second rom zip and put it under secondary slot
step 8: patch as well in secondary:no verity zip,su remove zip and gapps.install the patched dual rom and files in twrp then reboot to system (it should start setting up your second rom)
step 9:update everything in second rom from play store plus do the setup
step 10:reboot back into recovery and install the dualboot magisk 14.3 zip again.reboot system and update that magisk manager and zip
step 11:install dual boot patcher app on the second rom now and itll ask you to set second kernal when you go to roms,do so
step 12:reboot back to recovery and then go advanced>file manager and then go /data/adb and select magisk.img copy file to data/multiboot/dual/data/adb/ then reboot to system.
step 13:now when you reboot into second rom you will notice in modules in magisk manager all the modules you had in primary are there
(be careful when enabling some as some will not work but its a small list)
(Warning:if theres any updates to any app you need to follow steps 12 and 13.
installing modules directly from the manager in second rom can cause bricks or crashes)
Step 14:have Fun
Tested Modules that work:
android mic fix,app systemizer,audio modification library,boot animation replacer,detach(doesnt really hide market links nomore but doesnt crash),google camera patch,google framework,init.d linker,iybp,mm recovery,max resolution for youtube,priviledged api booter,ram management by crok,secure if,single user mod,splatoon 2 font,sysconfig patcher,terminal app systemizer,terminal app debloater,teethering enabler,ts-bindsunified hosts adblock,universal dee buffer remover,busybox, universal safetynet fix beta v 5,volume steps increase,wifi bonding and xmlpak
Will give it a shot when I get the chance
could someone help me just install magisk with the either the stock rom, or even any of the custom ones?
Im unable to find a step by step guide similiar to this one, for installing magisk on lg k550 (without the dual boot option, as im a newbie and prefer not to add any extra possible complications )

All the ROMs on the 2 plus work for both models. Also do you have telegram. We are all there to give advice. I'm more the magisk expert though you can shoot a line thru there or follow guides we have posted. We welcome all new members

I am looking for something similar but for LG Stylo 3 Plus.

hello xda,
This tutorial shows you that how to make your device fully functional with root.
but most of the peoples question is to pass SafetyNet, make their device status "Official" and also to work with Private Mode after root and with custom kernel. And here is the answer ,
BEFORE BEGIN, BACKUP YOUR DATA AND DOWNLOAD CORRECT FILES. I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY DAMAGE CAUSE TO YOUR DEVICE BY THIS PROCEDURE!!!
1. Download and flash stock oreo firmware via ODIN.
2. After boot, Turn on developer mode and turn on OEM Unlock.
3. turn off your device and get in to download mode.
4. Flash latest TWRP recovery via ODIN.
6. Get in to twrp recovery and format data and again boot into twrp.
7. first flash "no-verity-opt-encrypt-6.0", secondly flash "latest magisk", thirdly flash "TGP kernel v6.8.0".
8. After boot, update magisk app itself ( Latest v17.1 ).
9. download and install any root browser app ( root explorer recommanded) and give the root permission.
10. Navigate to /system/priv-app/PersonalPageService and delete the apk file and replace with modified apk
( Do not forget to set correct permission "rw-r-r" or chmod 644).
11. Navigate to /system/app/sysscope and delete the apk file and replace with modified apk
( Do not forget to set correct permission "rw-r-r" or chmod 644).
12. Reboot the device.
13. Now you can check SafetyNet, System Status and private mode.
NOTE :
DO NOT ATTEMPT TO INSTALL SYSTEM UPDATE. BECAUSE YOU MAY HAVE INSTALLED CUSTOM RECOVERY. SO THE UPDATE WILL PROBABLY FAIL.
YOU CAN OBTAIN UPDATE PACKAGE AT "/data/fota".
YOU CAN ALSO RIDE WITH BANKING APPS AND OTHER APPS WITH ROOT.
CAUTION :
●DO NOT FLASH CF SU.
●DO NOT ATTEMPT TO FLASH SYSTEM UPDATE.
●DO NOT INSTALL XPOSED FRAMEWORK. THIS WILL TRIGGER SAFETYNET.
KNOWN BUGS : NOTHING YET. TESTED ON GALAXY S7 (EXYNOS).
Files
( sysscope, PersonalPageService ) : https://drive.google.com/folderview?id=1ekOXMNMYGhaMke58y_xkVMFiAvP-Ncpm
no-verity-opt-encrypt-6.0 :

TGP Kernel v6.8.0 :

Systemless magisk :
https://www.google.lk/amp/s/forum.x...-magisk-v7-universal-systemless-t3473445/amp/
second method:
Download (e.g. with SamFirm (v0.3.6)) and flash stock oreo firmware via Odin
After boot, Turn on developer mode and turn on OEM Unlock.
Turn off your device and get in to download mode.
Flash latest TWRP recovery via ODIN.
Get in to twrp recovery and format data and again boot into twrp.
First flash "no-verity-opt-encrypt-6.0", secondly flash "latest magisk"
After boot install latest magisk manager
In magisk manager install the module Xposed Framework (SDK 26) systemless
Install XposedInstaller_3.1.5-Magisk from https://forum.xda-developers.com/xposed/unofficial-systemless-xposed-t3388268
In XposedInstaller-App install Firefds Kit [Oreo]
Start Firefds Kit [Oreo] and enable in Security hack "Fake system status"
Now the system status is official and you can download the OTA-Update.
To get ctsProfile: true and basicIntegrity: true you have to deactivate Xposed in the XposedInstaller-App (disable Xposed Status) and disable the module in magisk manager
But the interessting question would be how to install OTA updates without loosing root.
Because, if you go in the xposed method, It will probably trigger SafetyNet. So you couldn't be able to ride with updates, banking apps and etc.
This is why I placed modified Sysscope in order to make official.
And yes, stock private mode checks for custom binary or custom kernel. So the best way to modify the apk to work with custom binary.
Unfortunately, you cannot be able to install system updates via recovery. But, you can extract the fota.zip and place those files manually at your own risk. But I recommend you not to do.
DO NOT INSTALL XPOSED. IT WILL TRIGGER SAFETYNET. EVEN THOU SYSTEMLESS METHOD WOULDN'T HELP.
What should I do to get root again after the OTA?
Reflash magisk to regain root access
Are there any news to this topic?
I have an sm-j327p with xposed and supersu and I want to play pokémon go. Any way I can pass safetynet? If not, can someone please make an xposed module for me to do so? It's possible to make such an xposed module according to my dad who said that it's impossible to stop a hacker. My baseband version is j327pvpu4arj2.
download magisk 18 zip - http://www.mediafire.com/file/4rmzovup0xz0ben/Magisk-v18.0%2818000%29.zip/file.
uninstall xposed completely.
unroot in supersu.
MAKE SURE YOU SELECT 'RESTORE STOCK BOOT IMAGE'.
then flash magisk zip.
then reflash the samsung xposed and then enable in xposed 'No Device Check'.
then delete any busybox app.
Now you should pass SafetyNet.
Prob is pokemon go detects the xposed installer and the magisk manager, activate in magisk 'Repackage Magisk Manager with random package name.'
Then you have to try renaming the xposed installer apk with apk editor or something else.
I search from Pixel 3 XL forum and I think it's pretty useful. I follow those steps and install Custom Magisk to make Edxposed v0.4.6.0_beta.4471 work great:
1. Open magisk manager
2. Get in "settings" and scroll down to find "Update Channel", then click it. Please past "https://raw.githubusercontent.com/solohsu/magisk_files/master/custom_builds/release.json" in the box
3. Refresh magisk manager, and follow the method of magisk patch boot.img method to root your phone:
- Extracting "boot.img" file from google pixel factory image and copy boot.img into your phone
- Open magisk manager to install magisk( choose " install", then " select and patch a file" to patch your boot.img file)
- copy magisk_patched.img to computer and then make your phone enter fastboot mode, then keyin " fast boot flash boot magisk_patched.img"(slot-a & slot-b all being flashed)
- reboot your phone
- done
4. In magisk manager to install " Riru-Core", then get on https://github.com/ElderDrivers/EdXposed/releases to download Edxposed v0.4.6.0_beta.4471 and then install in magisk
5. Recommend download Edxposed manager v4.5.1 to install and then o open Edxposed to install the modules you use.
6. Enable those modules and reboot your phone.

Hello,
I have a problem with my FP3. When I flash the Magisk zip with TWRP or when I flash the patched boot image through Fastboot mode, Magisk is not completely installed. I need to boot et click on the "Magisk app" with a standard icon to install it and to access Magisk Manager. Without this, Magisk is not really installed since "su" or magisk executable are not in /sbin.
I need a way to manually install/upgrade Magisk through recovery (TWRP) to obtain the su. In my context, I have constraints preventing the installation through GUI.
Have you already done this before ?
