Recently I got the notification that my charging port has moisture and I waited for it to dry to place my phone to charge. The thing is it charged without problems (not using fast charging) but I got the notification that my port is wet again after some time. The thing is the screen will not turn on at all. Could it be the screen died because of the electric shock?
Thank you in advance!

Did it actually get wet? There is a bug that sometimes if these devices die they dont want to boot back up. If you feel its the second look up s8 and deep discharge bug.

I never let it discharge fully. The thing is it is instresting that the display died because of water getting in. I stil do not believe it.

Did you get it wet? The moisture in USB detected disables charging. You can only wireless charge if that's showing

The thing is it got wet but when I booted it (because I was unable to charge it in other way because it started vibrating) it charged normally for a short period of time (not using fast charging).
I think the water got in somehow and I do know how. My indicator for water in the SIM tray is red.
The display obviously died because of the electric shock from charging.
I do not know why the the phone did not prevent itself from charging. Seems like it cheated me somehow.
Guys, be aware.

It should have stopped charging and displayed the warning. I would assume the mother board not the display these displays are pretty durable in thise standards. Ive seen them wet before.
I had the same problem, sometimes it didn't even charge with the cable plugged. Went to Samsung store and they replaced it under warranty. I also got the moisture thingy popping up, they replaced my battery and charging port and in less than an hour I was gone. My battery was faulty they said.
I see other parts of the motherboard working such as LED indicators, it charges as well. The screen just does not turn on (after turning off). I do not know why it took it so long to die since the time between charging and the phone dying was couple of hours (if it were the electric shock it would have died instantaneously).

So I wanted to see if my phone would survive a 20min dip in the pool and well it just may have. I waited a day for it dry and had it in rice to help draw out the water. It wouldnt turn on. I took it to ATT and they put in a new battery and it turned on but turned off. I left it hooked up to the charger overnight and woke up this morning to find it at the please insert SIM screen. Now I can only get it to the bootloader screen and it turns off. Anybody have some suggestions on things I can try to get it running again? Nothing is off limits since it not like i have to worry about breaking it....

Update: Plugged it back in the charger and it went all the way to sense again. It says low battery and to connect to charger even though it is, so I'm thinking new battery?
First all leave it to dry some more, another day or so,then try it,i would also get another battery .
by the sound of it the device had not dried properly before you tried to power it on.
good luck.
I just went to ATT to try another battery, but it wouldnt turn on now. Maybe the battery contacts on the phone need to be replaced, is there a place to get parts or to test what needs to be replaced. I have a multimeter and soldering iron.
When you dried it did you have the pc board exposed or has the case still been sealed?
good day.
still sealed. it turned on, i refuse to believe there is still water in there even if that is the fact.

Take out the battery, sim card etc, leave in a dry warm room for 2-3 days, do not be tempted to turn it on before this time.
Good luck, you may be lucky and it dries out fine, but if water has been in there whilst the device was on for some time, then it may be not good news.

I Refuse To Believe A Fact.. (there might be a tee shirt here )
But anyway I'm quoting someone that would know. Our devices are like ships in a bottle. Just 1 spec of moisture across 2 legs of an integrated circuit under power will lead to certain failure.
good day.
Update: Last night I gave it another go and the phone turned on again. Earlier in the day I tried bringing it to ATT but a new battery didnt help. When it turned on for me, it would switch from battery mode to charging mode when I plugged in the charger but would still say battery low please plug in charger. Also the charging light doesn't come up when I plug it in, though the led mightve been shorted. Should I be trying to Task 29 and reflash or is this definitely a hardware problem?
Update: Today, I task29 and reflashed the rom with no problem. I even made a phone call and received a call. The speaker may be dead because it didnt ring, but it did vibrate. The main problem seems to be the power management. The phone says the battery is low and turns off after a few minutes. IT does recognize the charger in the taskbar but still has the low battery message pop up. Is there a piece of hardware that is involved in the power management that can be replaced? I was looking at this: http://cnn.cn/shop/touch-pro2-flex-cable-extusb-connector-vibrate-module-p-8259.html
Hi Guys,
I need thought my own Sky would give me problems since i take care of it so well :crying:
So last night i put the phone on my night table to charge, it had 9% battery left and the phone beeped since i plugged the charger and it was charging, now in the morning when i realize i'm late for work, i went to check my phone and it was dead(no alarm this morning). It was all plugged in still the charger and battery. Now i got to work and a work partner has a Sky too, i tested his battery on my Sky and nothing, tested my battery on his Sky and worked so my battery is fine(it was 100%), i tested my charger on his Sky and charged, i tested his charger on mine and nothing.
Tried plugging the phone with only usb cable to the pc without battery to reach download mode or recovery but nothing.
Now since our batteries are fine and chargers, im assuming my motherboard died which i was thinking if the battery would work it was going to be the charging port.
Is there a way to test each part of the phone o be more accurate about this issue?
Thanks in advance.
Can you get into download, recovery? Any vibration on long press power button? What rom was it on.. How long? Etc. Need a bit more info.

The phone won't do anything at all, i have fixed Sky's power button before and this is really weird. Stock Rom/Kernel, it was Android 4.1.2 and i have it for like 1year and 6 months.
If you need anything else let me know.
One more thing that could help, lately i noticed that the phone wasn't charging as fast as usual.I installed the Skyrocket charging app and when i plugged the charger to the phone it would say Fast Charge A/C 900~ mA and after like 30 seconds it would go down to 800, 700, 600 and then say Charger Wakelock 500~ mA.
Im really starting to think my board died.
Dead board. It happened to me on another Samsung phone a few weeks go. Came home from a day of fun. Put phone on table and plugged it in. Went to bed. Woke up to a completely non responsive phone. Got a new battery just in case. Still nothing. It was a great phone too. Oh well at least it died in it's sleep. lol
it happened to my sons s2 i9100, went to charge it and when he went back to it and it was dead, got it repaired under ext. warranty but cant find invoice on what they fixed if they even stated what they fixed, my guess mobo

And i'll lose all my data and will have to restore a Kies Backup from May-2013. Great!:highfive::victory: :crying:
Had this happen once or twice. It turned out that the usb port on the bottom of the phone had some junk that accumulated in there as well as some signs of minor corrosion, and was not making a good connection anymore. It just needed to be cleaned out. First, I think I just (very carefully) used a needle or safety pin or something like that to gently extract the lint/dust/crap out of the port, and then cleaned up the metal connectors in the port, and one of the back inside corners where I saw a little bit of green/white build up, with a little bit of isopropyl alcohol. I let it sit for a little bit to make sure it was dry and when I plugged it in, it started charging again. I happened to have an Optivisor lying around which made it a bit easier to see what I was doing, but it isn't necessary. The most annoying part was getting a small, focused beam of light from a flashlight into the port at just the right angle, and then figuring out how to keep it there while I worked. Shouldn't take long, and as long as you don't do something really dumb, it can't hurt to give it a try.
Except that he ruled that out by swapping batteries with his friends phone.

Hello,
So I was playing around flashing roms from here last night, and I was able to load up a rom that I liked, and get it configured to my liking. I noticed while doing that the phone started to get really hot. I didn't think anything of it, and left it on the charger and went to bed. This morning I woke up and the phone has a blinking red light. I did some Googling and it said that it was a completely drained battery. So I put it back on the charger and now the phone was able to boot back up, it says charging, but it is just at 0% and it doesn't seem to go anywhere from there (plugged in via computer) any ideas?

Revert to stock and see if it still acts like this?
A friend of mine had the same blinking red led.
Turned out the battery was completely drained.
After charging it for a while it was fine again.

Yup! It was drained, and it wasn't charging when I posted this when I had it plugged into my computer.
I put it on the wall charger and left it set for a few minutes, and then it showed up at 7% so I'm really relieved I didn't brick my phone. I just don't get why it didnt charge last night, I know I plugged it in...

Yeah that's strange behavior. My dad was playing a game on his N7 which was hooked up to his PC when it suddenly died.
Scared the hell out of him, turned out it hadn't been charging through USB for some reason, or maybe not enough.
Weird about last night. Maybe it wasn't plugged in completely. Have you tried the same socket? Maybe it's dead.

The computer charges android devices really slowly. When you're playing a game, it will drain faster than it charges, especially if you charge it by a PC/Mac and not a main power source

Blinking Red light??
Dnt worry this indicates that your phonr is just on the verge of its battery
just keep plugged in in for few minutes
now the light will stop blinking and you will get the battery level icon on your screen
Hope this helps you

But this never happened to me ealier while using a charger,Today i used just a cable to charge it and i behaved so.Is it because the charge it was getting was less to sustain or do i need to get it checked ?
i have this problem too i evan had it charged for an hour and a half and still no nothing evan started it up on the charger and it still does it i dont know what to do
Is the led still blinking after 1.5 hours on the charger? Maybe try a more powerful charger? Different USB cable?
The USB cable and charger that came with the phone is what I would start with to charge the phone.

Just had the same problem after not charging the phone for 10 months (broke while I was travelling). Just got it working after I ordered and installed a screen replacement from Alibaba. Needed to try 3 different USB Cables.
Maybe just a different USB cable would have solved the problem?
Charging via a computer is the last thing to do. The output is so low.
Hi guys,
I'm having the same problem. My phone has been charging for about twelve hours now and it still won't turn on. I tried using different outlets, but not a different charger since I only have one (original one) and my friends phone did charge with that charger. I also tried pressing the power- and volume button at the same time, but still nothing. Everytime I take my phone out of the charger and plug it in again, the red light starts blinking for a while but then it dies off and nothing happens anymore. Does anyone have anymore tips?
Thanks
Sounds like the battery needs to be replaced or you need a more powerful charger.
i've got this problem except anytime a charging cable is connected, the phone powers on and off continually as if the power button is stuck. tried swapping batteries with a spare n5 i have with a cracked screen and bad IMEI (lousy ebay purchase), made no difference. same thing occurs even with battery disconnected. there's no way to boot into recovery. the red LED blinks when the phone powers off momentarily. tried various cables to charge, multiple locations. any ideas?
Saved me!!
Saved my nexus 5, i love this phone and don't want to lose it even after three years passed way!
thankyou brother you nailed it.

I received my lg urbane 2 yesterday and I noticed the battery life was extremely poor. I charged it up last night then turned it off and unplugged the watch. It lost 20 percent of its battery life while it was off at night. I was using it today and about an hour ago it was at 20 percent so I plugged it into my power brick. In about an hour the watch was at 35 percent but was blazing hot. I turned it off and let it cool for about 15 minutes. Once it was fairly cool. I attempted to power it on. It wouldn't turn on. I plugged it in and it booted up. It was then completely out of power. I let it charge for another 15 minutes then turned it off again. I just tried to power it on and it was dead! I'm now charging on a computer usb and it is still very hot. What should I do?

have you tried factory reset? You can do that, by un-pairing your Watch to your phone, via the watch or Android Wear App on your phone.
You might have a bad unit.
You might want to return it during the 14 day period if a reset does not work.
What you describe does not sound normal.

I reflashed it the day I got it. Luckily It works great now! Since it was overheating I ran it under some water and once I got home I plugged it in and haven't had a problem since.

Thank you for taking the time to reply luckily I fixed the issue. It appears to have been caused by using my one amp battery brick. It overheated it and caused it to bug out. Once it was cooled it started working like a charm

Hey guys, I have the issue where my w200 failed to charge overnight and would vibrate twice on the Android Wear boot animation and shut down, now it won't even turn on after being on charge via wall adapter or PC USB port, any suggestions would be appreciated before I go through the tedious warranty process as I'm in Australia and the device was purchased via expansys out of Korea.

Take a pencil eraser and lightly rub the electrical contacts on the watch. I had that charging problem with my LG watch Urbane 2 LTE after working out with it on. I suspected it might be a sweat issue, perhaps a film of dried salt, that caused enough resistance to keep the watch from recharging & so I took a Zeiss lens cleaning wipe to it. But that didn't fix it. Complaining to a friend, he said when he had a similar problem trying to charge his Bluetooth earpiece, he fixed it by just taking a pencil eraser and rubbing the brass charging connector dots on the earpiece. I did that on my watch and normal charging resumed.
Usually the problem is not with a battery. Try to clean the contacts with a lasting (pen eraser) both on the charger and on watches itself.

Hello.
After falling to the ground with my S6 in my pocket I noticed it was off. At that time I thought I just ran out of battery even tho it didn't show the zero battery logo. After plugging the phone the battery logo showed and it started going from 0 to 94/95 in a matter of seconds (like 5% per second). I turned the phone on, it charged normally from 94 to 100 and after unplugging the charger the power was cut - immediately turned off.
It does this every time I plug it in: "charges" stupidly fast to 94%, turns ON and works normally until I disconnect the charger.
Do you guys know what the problem is? I find odd if the battery is dead because it went In for service 3 or 4 months ago and they replaced almost everything except screen, camera, back panel and frame. I would send it again to service but I rooted it so Knox is cracked.
Maybe because of the fall I took the battery cable was disconnected?
Thanks
Certainly sounds like a hardware issue because of the drop it took. Now it is charging but obviously erratically, could be the charging daughter board or the ic that needs replacing. Either way it needs to go in for repair, id try and get some quotes

The only way you'll know for sure if this is not a software issue is to factory reset or flash Stock firmware, it very well could a connection has come lose or some sort of damage to the charging part of board if you continue to have issues.
Sent to repair and they replaced the battery. Since I live in Europe Knox 0x1 wasn't an issue.
