My S10+ will be coming in next week. Wanted to check if fluid navigation gestures works on the s10, as im not that happy with the baked in gesture controls and much rather would customize the gestures. I don't see why it shouldn't work, but would rather check. Thanks!

Works perfectly well on my Note 9 with pie/One ui so I don't see any reason not to.
I'm planning to get S10+ and after installing Nova, Fluid gesture is the second thing I do!
I received my phone yesterday (US - Snapdragon) and I can report that FNG works perfectly fine.
Nice find, If the ADs in this are not a pain in the ass I will swap from using https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.xda.nobar&rdid=com.xda.nobar
this one uses less permissions.
Anyone noticed a bug that the fingerprint button is too low when using FNG. I only realised today to press above the sesnor to login in apps

Yep, it has some bugs. The FP icon is lower than it should be because the phone should shows up navbar but fluid tries to hide it.
I had the same issue. Hope developer can find the way to work out that issue.

Im getting this too. It kinda sux but it's not a deal breaker... for now.
In Fluid Navigation gestures unhide nav bar the icon issue gets resolved.

Ok I found another way that's much smoother. First in Samsung settings disable gesture navigation, so the navigation bar is visible.
Then you need to hide the navigation bar from Fluid Navigation gestures.
I found if you have both enabled they keep fighting each other.

If you use that way, the fingerprint sensor location show up not correctly, it needs to be a little bit higher because you hide the navigation bar by adb command.
I found the best way to use any navigation bar gesture without samsung and other apps fighting each other but you will need 'setting database edit' app. I am still testing it since yesterday night and it is running flawlessly so far.
Please do tell I see the way I did it, it comes up hit or miss on the correct location. I have gotten used to it. I'm still getting used to this phone, the oneplus 6 was just a lot more intuitive. This phone i have been fiddling for 3 days. I kind of like how it is now
Why don't u use One Hand Operation+ from Samsung? It works better. I prefer the default Samsung gestures though. I guess big hands make it easier to use.

A quick guide please!
Got my S10+ today. Got Fluid Navigation Gestures working fine so far but after i locked the phone and i am back in there is than no gestures and no navbar so i am kinda stuck.
Anybody else got that problem? If so you got any solution to fix it?
So I have it running but the fingerprint has moved down to the bottom of the screen any idea on a fix or have I stuffed something up?

Hi, i found that feature, but after restart phone that reset and you will must do it again.
1. download SetEdit app from Google Play
2. in fluid app let hide bar setting disabled (don't hide navbar by this app) and enable gesture control by fluid.
3. Set the gesture control in the system settings (original by samsung)
4. Run SetEdit app and in Global Table find
navigation_bar_gesture_disabled_by_policy set value to 1
navigation_bar_gesture_while_hidden set value to 1
You may be prompted to grant authorization SetEdit app through ADB.
That's work perfectly for me, but maybe don't for you, be careful.
I apologize for not linking the apps, but I can't. I'm a new user and I don't have enough posts

That's a great solution and works great! You're an absolute life saver!! The only issue is that the 'navigation_bar_gesture_disabled_by_policy' value keeps reverting back to 0 every so often which makes it quite annoying to keep on.
Is there a fix for this? That would be great!

Hi guys. Quick Control Panel looked pretty dead for a while - and for me too...until lately. The truth is - now I'm upgrading it, and I need your help to test the latest changes.
Well - here is the alpha version of the app. It should now work on Lollipop and Marshmallow, though I still need to add runtime permissions for Marshmallow.
App not installed message on Samsung S5 neo (Stock Android Lollipop 5.1.1)
Installed on my S6 Edge. Seems to be working fine. I don't really have use for it but that doesn't mean that other people wont. Nice job
I realise now that I had to completely uninstall the previous version that I had running. Once I'd done that it installed without any problems. Only thing I've noticed is that the colour of the toggle buttons don't change when I set the colour in the settings.

After being installed for a day I keep getting control panel has stopped message which locks up the device and I am then forced to power off my phone and restart. When it behaves it's a very useful app, but too many lock ups prevent it from being stable enough to use.
Beautiful!
Any way to change icons of the toggles / postion control doesn't work with poweramp / and anyway you disable it during landscape

All the applications i have found seem to do this. You have to make the application a device administrator for it to work but because the application is controlling the lock, the fingerprint doesnt work and it forces you to enter the pattern. I am coming from a moto and really miss the breathing notifications.

I use this at night but I don't really want the screen on all day, if this had a "breathing" function it would be nice. Hoping google releases an update to change the ambient display.
That's what I'm asking. There are a bunch of apps meant for this. Trying to see what people have success with
Bump....
Using Notific Pro without administrator permissions, only enabled notification access on the overview screen of the app. Works pretty well for me...
I wrote a little app for myself which turns the fingerprint sensor on Galaxy S7 Edge into a capacitive Home button - so you don't need to press the button physically, just touch it like a sensoric button. There are already similar apps on the Play Store, however none of them have an option to quickly enable/disable the service via Quick Settings custom tile (Android 7+ feature). It's a useful feature, because if you need to authenticate with your fingerprint in any app, it's needed to disable the service temporary.
App service runs in foreground thus there is a persistent notification placed in the notification bar. You can quickly pause/disable the service from this notification, or better use the Quick Settings custom tile. If you don't like the persistent notification, just hold you finger on the notification - notification setting will be opened and you can disable it (notification will be hidden but app still works fine).
Android 7+ is required, I'm using the app for several days already and there were no issues and no battery impact. I recommend to exclude the app from battery saving options to prevent it being killed by the system.
This app rely on Samsung SDK so it will probably work only on official or modified official firmware.
Don't forget to register at least one fingeprint in system settings, otherwise the app may not work.
Source code is available here: https://sourceforge.net/p/fingertouchapp/code/ci/master/tree/
UPDATED on 2017-05-18:
New version v1.2.5:
- fixed crash when Fingertouch service is killed by system
v1.2.4:
- added check if at least one fingerprint is registered in the device
- notification bar is now closed on home button touch
- main screen is now scrollable (in case you use large system font)
v1.2.3:
- added option to start on boot
- added option to change the touch delay (useful if you use Samsung 'double tap' camera feature)
Get it for free on PLAY STORE
There is also PRO version if you wish to donate, it includes app whitelist and long touch function. PRO version has ability to disable itself automatically (for 4 seconds) when fingerprint authorization is requested in other apps. So you don't even need to use whitelist and you have 4 seconds to authorize with your fingerprint in any app after the request is made.
Uninstall the previous version 1.2.2 before installing 1.2.3!
Thank you! This works great so far!
Thank you very much for this, working as described. I'm planning on using this for a day and reporting on battery use, what has been your experience? Also, for anyone wondering, this does not affect the lockscreen fingerprint to unlock. Double tapping to open the camera does not work though. Great app to extend the life of the home button.
Edit: no noticeable difference in battery after several days use. Thank you for your great work
Works like a charm. Greate work dude.
flawless, just flawless. thanks.
hated the vibration so i just disabled feedback vibration in settings and its now silent
Wow, works, thank you!! @ranwej,
Can't you add a function that in case of longer touch will trigger a scanner instead ? I mean automatically. This could be function for donators )
Btw double tap on home must work for camera This would be show stopper for me

Yes it sometimes vibrates on very short/light touch, unfortunately it's Samsung SDK thing and I can't do anything about it. I don't like it as well
Regarding the question about battery, I haven't seen this app in Android battery usage list, so I would say it has neglible efect. But I have very good SOT overall (8+ hours).

I don't plan to add other features as I don't need/use them, including double tap camera. I would recommend you to try other similar apps on Play Store which have additional features, for example "easyHome" or "HomeTouch".
That's a really pity then... I like the concept, I would even donate for it.
The HomeTouch you have proposed seems to work with Doubletouch even with lite version still some additional functionality I have proposed would add additional value to your app, on top of current one like Quick panel and nice and clean design. Anyway, probably that is not your goal so thank you for sharing anyway.
Neat!
Really love the lightweight apk. Double tap camera would be the icing on the cake but i can live without kit. Good work!

Wow that vibration feedback is rather annoying
Working pretty good over here on stock Verizon non rooted..
My double tap to launch camera is working with zero issues coming from inside different apps, or even from AOD and lock screen..
The thing that I did notice right away while I was testing was although everything is working okay for me, the only thing I haven't been able to execute is clearing the notification pull down with a capacitive home button touch, once it's pulled down completely.. In order for me to get rid of the pull down is to actually press on home key.. Not an issue for me but it seemed a little odd..
Thanks for this!! Super useful for me
One of the best apps I have ever used! Thanks friend! Keep up the great work!

How's the battery life in Android Q?
Is it the same with P or worse?
I assume now that it is official, that SafetyNet is passing ok so things such as GooglePay aren't a problem? I had avoided trying a beta because of the lack of SafetyNet failures on them from what I had read, and I tend to use GooglePay and a few games that need SafetyNet.

Can't really answer that definitively, it came out a few hours ago. I don't consider using Beta releases as proof, and the thing about battery life, is that it is so dependent on what you do with your phone, that each one of us will get different results.
I'm surprised that the update is only 16 MB if you're on the final beta, but I think I remember the update from Android 8 beta to 9 being similarly tiny. That's a pretty good indicator that barely anything changed from beta 6.

Same for me
(can change sound in aCalendar+ app)
Updated OTA last night. So far so good, not noticed any specific issues yet.
Kudos to essential for keeping so on top of these updates. If they do ever release another one I will buy one so long as they strengthen the phone/data signal a bit. That is pretty much my only disappointment with this one, but still it was worth every cent of the 200 bucks or so I paid for it.
Flashed ota through twrp and rooted using Magisk's canary build.
No issues thus far. I can change the stock calendar notification without media crash, but I'm only using the stock sounds. Are those experiencing issues using custom sounds?

So by now I've opened and set up my Pixel 4a. Quickly got annoyed by the new and half baked gesture navigation.
So I went to Settings > System > Gestures > System Navigation to enable 2 button and... its not there.
Ok, annoying they'd hide it like that, but nothing an ABD command cant fix, so I type in the adb command:
Code:
adb shell cmd overlay enable com.android.internal.systemui.navbar.twobutton
No dice. "Couldnt find service overlay". So Google not only hid the option, but stopped developers from accessing it.
So now I'm forced to use legacy nav (which to be honest isnt too bad) or the new extremely unreliable gesture nav.
No combination of sensitivity or adjustments to my finger speed/placement can make that back gesture reliable or so I can choose to open left slide menus rather than backing out. I hate it so much.
So anyways, back to the question at hand, what can I do to get 2-button (pill gestures) back? Do I have to root just to get this feature back? I already know about alternatives like FNG, I'm not asking about that. I'm asking how to get back the navigation method Google initially was trying to force me to use before this update.
So the only options are full gestures or 3 button? Maybe it'll change once 11 goes official
I've never been a fan of gestures. Always preferred 3-button navigation. Set up my pixel 4a and left gestures on just to see if I could acclimate to it. Really like it and won't be going back to the 3-button nav. Its almost flawless for me.
Gestures work great for me. Just took a few days to get used to
I think I could get used to the gestures in a few days. They work well for me. But I use Nova launcher and Google hasn't taken the cover off gestures for third-party launchers. I'll be using NAV bar until they do (if they do).

Lol FedEx is supposed to be delivering my 4a today as well. Also my wife doesn't like gestures, she use 3 button on her Pixel 2. But at least I got her to get something other than Samsung :good:
Hey man I had the same issue. Im coming from and iPhone and these new gestures feel like crappy knock offs of the one apple uses. The android 9 style gestures had much better integration from me checking out my friend's 3a. I might have to wait for someone to mod this device with the new gestures
I've been using a10 gestures for 6 months on my 5t, don't think I could go back to 2 or 3 button. You get use to it.
