[APP][4.0+] Quick Control Panel v4.0 alpha - Android Apps and Games

Hi guys. Quick Control Panel looked pretty dead for a while - and for me too...until lately. The truth is - now I'm upgrading it, and I need your help to test the latest changes.
Well - here is the alpha version of the app. It should now work on Lollipop and Marshmallow, though I still need to add runtime permissions for Marshmallow.

App not installed message on Samsung S5 neo (Stock Android Lollipop 5.1.1)

Installed on my S6 Edge. Seems to be working fine. I don't really have use for it but that doesn't mean that other people wont. Nice job

I realise now that I had to completely uninstall the previous version that I had running. Once I'd done that it installed without any problems. Only thing I've noticed is that the colour of the toggle buttons don't change when I set the colour in the settings.

After being installed for a day I keep getting control panel has stopped message which locks up the device and I am then forced to power off my phone and restart. When it behaves it's a very useful app, but too many lock ups prevent it from being stable enough to use.

Beautiful!

Any way to change icons of the toggles / postion control doesn't work with poweramp / and anyway you disable it during landscape

Uninstall the alpha and install it from the Playstore, he just updated it.

Have been waiting since my last post that this fantastic app will be resurrected. At long last and all seems to work as expected. And here's mine

System ui tuner

I am Not sure if everyone has found this little feature yet, but it is pretty neat. On the menu drop down, press and hold the little gear icon (settings) until it starts spinning. Let go and now system UI tuner will be added to your menu. .
It allows for some pretty neat customizations

That is the #1 thing I am looking forward too in MM - lol
Do One Thing install Custom Quick Settings from the Play Store. You can customize the quick settings.
Damn shame Google nixed the Dark MM UI option they were working on for the System UI Tuner.
It was the only real tweak from this menu that I was looking forward to.
I really only stuck with the battery percent in the battery since, for some unknown reason, moto doesn't offer the percentage instead of the icon.. I guess I'm just spoiled from using CM. And touchwiz where you could do that

Sweet. Loving the embedded battery percentage and removing some of the status bar icons to clean it up a little. Thanks for the tip.

I am holding it down and nothing happens, if referring to the gear icon up by the battery icon on top right corner.
Yep, you are, but not working for me. Weird. I wonder since i have already activated dev options? Not same stuff though. Nope, disabled dev options and still not working.
Non rooted stock device. Strange. Does not spin.
Update: I restarted the device and now works.
Thanks for the info

Seems you have disabled animation in developer options. Enable it and restart mobile. Then try pressing it again and you will see it enabled.
You can then go and disable animation once again. Hope that helps.
Wow! I was looking for the system ui tuner and couldnt find it. I'm happy to have found this thread. I'm not sure everybody who owns this device knowing about this hidden feature.
Also, when i tweak the quick tiles, and then select to remove the system tuner from the settings menu, it switches back to "default" quick tiles.
Is this supposed to happen? I mean, do I have to keep "system ui tuner" in the settings menu in order to have the tiles i chose?
Hope you understand everything, I don't speak well english.

I think it was the source of some problems I was having on my XPE too. My paired bluetooth devices kept unpairing. I posted about it here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-x-style/help/paired-bluetooth-devices-unpairing-t3298262
Long story short, I tried everything and I could think of and finally got a replacement from Moto, only to have the same thing happen with the new phone. Then I disabled System UI Tweaker and it hasn't happened since, and it has been several days.

Frustrated - Virtual buttons no longer disappearing / or going transparent

Hey guys, I could use a hand. For some reason this AM my Nav buttons no longer are transparent on my phone ANYWHERE on ANY app. I use Nova launcher and I don't see a setting there. I checked the Display under settings and I don't have a color selected.
On the lock screen the home buttons are not there so I don't see this and have a full screen display. Any help would be appreciated.

I tried it. Still not working. It shows as transparent for a quick second, then goes black.
* I did go to Touchwiz and it did go full screen, but all apps still had the nav bar as black and wouldn't hide. Only if I open a YouTube video in full screen will it disappear.

Bump. Still having the issue.
Try to use app call Shortcutter and enable immersive mode
Have you tried going to Settings/Display/Navigation Bar and adjusting setting? The latest update changed the colors available for the nav bar.

It appears that looking at your screenshots i see no dot in left corner.? of navbar. So i presume
you have not received /done latest Samsung Update.?
Latest update has a dot, leftside of navbar.
If you tap it you navbar goes into Immersive
mode.
I have done latest update and using Nova Prime.
I have no issues with navbar. etc etc.
I replied to another thread (similar issue) earlier with

the latest Samsung software Build number should be .............AQF7
( as far as i know ) .
I don't think you are on this .Look at my screenshots
You will see white dot left corner ?
and when you want to use keyboard you have small keyboard icon
right side ,see screenshot .I do not see this in your screenshots ?
I am on latest build with Nova and have no issues with navigation bar .
So it difficult to test from my side as it seems we are on different Samsung build versions .?
Before my update i was using 3rd party app Shortcutter ( immersive mode )
Very good quality app .You can check it out in meantime .Works 100 %

With all respect ,it does not seem like you on latest software, as your are still on " ....AQEF "
( according to your screenshot ).
I am on " ............AQF7 " ( see my screenshot in my post #14 above )
It's this "..........AQF7" update ,that has the with dot .in navigation bar ..
All you can do is wait (?) for update .........AQF7 ( or similar ) .
Otherwise install a 3rd party app Shortcutter, which has this function ( immersive mode ) and a lot of other tweaks ( no root options ).
A very good quality app and very handy .
I have seen other , ADB commands tweaks that you can do to enable similar ( very easy if you , know what ADB is )
I still use Shortcutter app even though i have the with dot option in navigation bar .
Good luck

I hear what you're saying, but my issue was that I had no problems before. All of the sudden it just stopped working regardless of the release. I do agree Verizon does stall on updates specifically for security reasons and because they're assholes.

Ok,
Then you still got one basic option left.
(according to me)
Factory reset.! Yes, i know it's a hassle, but if you want to fix it, then factory reset. See screenshot
There is a option in device settings, for you to
reset settings, but it hardly works.
From time to time a certain device setting does
get "broken".
I had this with a few different devices eg Note
4, Note 5 and S 8 +.
eg Bluetooth switch toggle, switches alarm icon on. (for few seconds.)
Auto rotate icon missing.
On S8 +, the AoD was "broken /not working"
Only a factory reset eventually fixed it.!
Anyway i would try a factory reset, if i was "fed up" and wanted to fix issue.?
Good luck
After factory reset yesterday this also started happening to me. I did not receive that update everyone keeps talking about.

Fluid Navigation gestures on S10/+

My S10+ will be coming in next week. Wanted to check if fluid navigation gestures works on the s10, as im not that happy with the baked in gesture controls and much rather would customize the gestures. I don't see why it shouldn't work, but would rather check. Thanks!

Works perfectly well on my Note 9 with pie/One ui so I don't see any reason not to.
I'm planning to get S10+ and after installing Nova, Fluid gesture is the second thing I do!
I received my phone yesterday (US - Snapdragon) and I can report that FNG works perfectly fine.
Nice find, If the ADs in this are not a pain in the ass I will swap from using https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.xda.nobar&rdid=com.xda.nobar
this one uses less permissions.
Anyone noticed a bug that the fingerprint button is too low when using FNG. I only realised today to press above the sesnor to login in apps

Yep, it has some bugs. The FP icon is lower than it should be because the phone should shows up navbar but fluid tries to hide it.
I had the same issue. Hope developer can find the way to work out that issue.

Im getting this too. It kinda sux but it's not a deal breaker... for now.
In Fluid Navigation gestures unhide nav bar the icon issue gets resolved.
__________________________________________________
Ok I found another way that's much smoother. First in Samsung settings disable gesture navigation, so the navigation bar is visible.
Then you need to hide the navigation bar from Fluid Navigation gestures.
I found if you have both enabled they keep fighting each other.

If you use that way, the fingerprint sensor location show up not correctly, it needs to be a little bit higher because you hide the navigation bar by adb command.
I found the best way to use any navigation bar gesture without samsung and other apps fighting each other but you will need 'setting database edit' app. I am still testing it since yesterday night and it is running flawlessly so far.
Please do tell I see the way I did it, it comes up hit or miss on the correct location. I have gotten used to it. I'm still getting used to this phone, the oneplus 6 was just a lot more intuitive. This phone i have been fiddling for 3 days. I kind of like how it is now
Why don't u use One Hand Operation+ from Samsung? It works better. I prefer the default Samsung gestures though. I guess big hands make it easier to use.

Got my S10+ today. Got Fluid Navigation Gestures working fine so far but after i locked the phone and i am back in there is than no gestures and no navbar so i am kinda stuck.
Anybody else got that problem? If so you got any solution to fix it?
So I have it running but the fingerprint has moved down to the bottom of the screen any idea on a fix or have I stuffed something up?

Hi, i found that feature, but after restart phone that reset and you will must do it again.
1. download SetEdit app from Google Play
2. in fluid app let hide bar setting disabled (don't hide navbar by this app) and enable gesture control by fluid.
3. Set the gesture control in the system settings (original by samsung)
4. Run SetEdit app and in Global Table find
navigation_bar_gesture_disabled_by_policy set value to 1
navigation_bar_gesture_while_hidden set value to 1
You may be prompted to grant authorization SetEdit app through ADB.
That's work perfectly for me, but maybe don't for you, be careful.
I apologize for not linking the apps, but I can't. I'm a new user and I don't have enough posts

That's a great solution and works great! You're an absolute life saver!! The only issue is that the 'navigation_bar_gesture_disabled_by_policy' value keeps reverting back to 0 every so often which makes it quite annoying to keep on.
Is there a fix for this? That would be great!

Android Q beta 5 is out !

Anyone install it yet ? Experiences ?
Sent from my PH-1 using Tapatalk
Installing now
Seems fine on my PH1 but then I never seem to have all the weird issues others have. Stock unrooted.
Maybe a placebo, but I've noticed a marked improvement in touch and scrolling.
Edit: I've had it running the latest beta for. 12 hours, and have noticed the standby battery drain is much improved for me compared to previous betas.
Also feel faster so far. When I was travelling with maps and play music on it got painfully slow, hanging all the time. Now it looks better. But banking app still not working :/ not sure how I'm going to get it working.
Sent from my PH-1 using Tapatalk
My beta 4 has been working flawlessly besides the screen studder when I swipe home from within EVERY app. Getting great battery life, 6.5hr+ on screen time with every charge, with 4hrs+ of them being streaming videos. If I don't watch videos, this phone will easily last at least 3.5-4 days. All this at 60% screen brightness.
With that said, I'd hate to install beta 5 and have new issues and worse battery life.
Beta 5 has been good for me. Good battery life about as good as beta 4 was but the only issue I have is even after going full gesture navigation. It seems to go back to 3 button mode randomly and I'll have to change it back. Also I don't see the option to enable the side peek feature that was supposed to be a part of beta 5

Are you using the stock launcher? Supposedly Google added a "feature" that blocks you from using full gestures if you're using a 3rd party launcher on beta 5.

Hmm na I'm currently using rootless pixel launcher because in beta 4 on quickstep with dark theme the app drawer apps had white letters on white background unless you changed your wallpaper to a dark one.
So your saying if I use the quickstep I can also enable the peek feature?

I'm not sure about the peek feature (to be honest I don't know what that is), what I was getting at was about the navigation reverting to 3 button. If you're using something other than stock launcher, it's supposed to force you to use the 3 button navigation according to Google, so that might be why you're seeing that behavior.
Also, beta 5 fixed the dark theme issue.
Edit: Peek is working.

I didn't have to enable anything, it was just working. I had full gestures as my default when I flashed, and I didn't change anything after that. Looked in settings as well, no option there. I'm assuming it should be on by default.
If you're having trouble with it, disable grip rejection, that could be conflicting with it.

settings put secure sysui_nav_bar "space,recent;home;back,space"
This doesn't work any more :\
Just flashed the fastboot image, for some reason the only options under Choose screen lock are "none" and "Swipe". There's no option for PIN or pattern anymore which leaves me unable to add a fingerprint to unlock with either
How's the battery life in Android Q?
Is it the same with P or worse?
I assume now that it is official, that SafetyNet is passing ok so things such as GooglePay aren't a problem? I had avoided trying a beta because of the lack of SafetyNet failures on them from what I had read, and I tend to use GooglePay and a few games that need SafetyNet.

Can't really answer that definitively, it came out a few hours ago. I don't consider using Beta releases as proof, and the thing about battery life, is that it is so dependent on what you do with your phone, that each one of us will get different results.
I'm surprised that the update is only 16 MB if you're on the final beta, but I think I remember the update from Android 8 beta to 9 being similarly tiny. That's a pretty good indicator that barely anything changed from beta 6.

See the August Q Beta thread, he fixed by going back to Pie then OTA
https://forum.xda-developers.com/essential-phone/how-to/august-q-beta-t3955477/post80048214
cant change calendar sound, media storage crashed when try changing calendar notification sound
WIFI and Bluetooth broken after update
WIFI and bluetooth will not stay on. Factory reset doesn't help. Neither does going back to Android 9 and doing another OTA to 10. Staying on 9 until further notice!

Go to gesture settings. Switch to 2/3 buttons

2. Force dark mode is good, but in Facebook app highlight text/Notification text is turn to white.
3. No Face unlock
4. Media crash on calendar sound
5. can`t use gesture navigation with 3rd party launcher
Hope essential read this thread..

Same for me
(can change sound in aCalendar+ app)
Updated OTA last night. So far so good, not noticed any specific issues yet.
Kudos to essential for keeping so on top of these updates. If they do ever release another one I will buy one so long as they strengthen the phone/data signal a bit. That is pretty much my only disappointment with this one, but still it was worth every cent of the 200 bucks or so I paid for it.
Flashed ota through twrp and rooted using Magisk's canary build.
No issues thus far. I can change the stock calendar notification without media crash, but I'm only using the stock sounds. Are those experiencing issues using custom sounds?
Still can`t use gesture navigation with 3rd party launcher?
