Help, how to fix this sp flash tool error? STATUS:DA_HASH_MISMATCH 0xC0070004 - General Questions and Answers

Hello to all,
firstly i hope i am opening this thread correctly because i am a junior member here at XDA.
Secondly,i recently bought an CUBOT P20(mt6750t) which so far has been a great device according to me. After installing so many apps i decided to re-flash it,and after doing so there was no sim signal. In the quest of fixing this problem i formatted my device following a thread here at XDA about restoring my device's imei which is in the purchase's original box. At the moment that i formatted my device using "AUTO FORMAT FLASH-FORMAT WHOLE FLASH" in SP FLASH TOOL,i was running AOSP Android 9.0(GSI image) which i flashed using ADB(these actions didn't fix the signal issue related to nvram.bin too),this is where i decided to restore the imei directly.
-The grave mistake : so after no success with trying to fix the sim signal by flashing AOSP Android 9.0 i decided to follow this guide in XDA : Link to tutorial. After following the extreme method, this annoying error started to appear when trying to re-flash in order to perform the 2nd step in the extreme guide: Error : STATUS_DA_HASH_MISMATCH(0xC0070004).
-My phone is still responsive,it is not totally dead.
-I've tried almost everything,i even formatted my laptop because after so many attempts i lost track of my actions.
After re-installing windows 8.1 i retried to flash my phone again, but i encountered the same errors as above(before trying to re-flash my cubot,i installed the drivers,re downloaded the firmware from the official site, etc).
I am mentally devastated now because this is not my device,it is my brother's...I would be really grateful if anybody helps me fix this.
Thanks in advance to all.

Hello, thank you very much for trying to help me out.
I've read the meaning of that error and i've tried to follow the instructions on that page too,but the version of sp flash tool stated in the solution throws an error related to my scatter file,it says it's not valid.
I've opened the scatter file to see if it is valid or not,and it seemed fine to me. Also the same scatter works fine with other versions of sp flash tool too.
Also can you tell me what threads are those where i can get this post shared? I thought that posting in QA was the right place.

Have you ever heard that calculating a checksum for the scatter file can fix this?
I'll also try with windows 7 in a couple of minutes.

If the file is not complete and doesn't equal the checksum, then yes, this means you need to download the file again and then verify the checksum, if it is a match, Try flashing it.

I generated an checksum.ini for the scatter file and now SPFT throws this error : ROM[preloader] checksum mismatch : checksum_config[0x0], checksum_val[0x54e8]
I know i have to edit the checksum.ini file and replace 0x0 with 0x54e8,but the checksum_config is nowhere to be found.
Is this an indication that the preloader is causing all this? And also where can i find the checksum_config?
I also have to mention that this is a fresh download of the phone's firmware.
this is my checksum's content :
[VERSION]
VERSION=V1
[IsEnableChecksum]
CHECKSUM_SWITCH=1
in the scatter file, this is the preloader info :

partition_name: preloader

Edit : I modified the preloader's checksum inside the checksum.ini and set its value to preloader=0x54e8.
After doing so and choosing the scatter inside SPFT for reflash,it throwed another nearly similar error as above but with changed values : ROM[preloader] checksum mismatch : checksum_config[0x0], checksum_val[0xb530]. This is weird.

Please Help

I'm in the same boat. My phone bricked itself after a bootloop issue, trying to flash the official ROM and I get the ERROR: STATUS_DA_HASH_MISMATCH (0xC0070004) every time, I've tried different versions of SP flash tool, different release versions of the ROM, with the mediatek drivers and with the standard windows 10 ones (andrid recognised in the device manager correctly).
Did you have any luck fixing it?

I tried that but just got errors from the checksum generator. The ROM is a version that does require checksum so it shouldn't make a difference with that.
Im going to try installing Windows 7 with the VCOM drivers as windows 10 seems to be using its own. My phone gets recognised by the pc when plugged in so I know it's still being detected.
This error code seems to have no fix yet.
This is my plan to ty find a solution &what has already been tried (for the devs to help diagnose and those with the same problems):
1: Try different versions of SPFT - DONE
2: Try different release versions of the ROM - DONE
3: Try installing MTK drivers manually - DONE (windows 10, already has them but tried anyway)
4: Try different USB ports - DONE
5: Try different cables - DONE
6: Try different PC - DONE (were all windows 10 though)
7: Try different button press combinations - DONE
NEXT STEPS:
1: Try Windows 7 which require drivers to be installed manually
2: Disassemble phone to remove battery
3: Try removing drivers in windows 10 using USBDeview to force manual VCOM drives install
4: Try to regenerate Checksum and fix the error displayed when it fails
5: Use specific .BIN as download agent instead of the Mediatek_ALL one (as referenced in the error codes list of meanings)
6: Try installing Linux to test that
7: order a new motherboard
8: Curse the fact that I have come across the only error that seems to have no solution available and no forum with an actual working option (despite them being listed as solved).
I'll keep you updated if I find one. Hopefully a Dev will be able to help with more input.
There seems to be an increase in this error over the last 2/3 months, I'm wondering if that's windows 10 /driver related. There is 1 video on YouTube that solved it in 2018 but that's in hindi and has a link to 2 download files that are no longer available.

I've tried absolutely all of the steps that you have described, and nothing worked for me.
As per the checksum,u got to try different versions, because some of the checksum calculators are faulty...and calculating the checksum only for the scatter should do it(if the problem is being cause by the checksum),but u need to try out whatever solution u can imagine because at this point there aren't much bad things that can still happen to your device.

I'll try generating some others then. I've posted in my phones official community group asking for answers as well. It's the official release (2 of them) and 2 unofficial versions, all are having the same issue so I don't think it's related to the files themselves, rather some issue with the way SPFT and windows. The S2 Pro has efuse protection which might be an issue but that is just the bootloader. I cannot believe every forum post online has no actual solution. I'll keep trying and see if something will work.

ROM for recovery G2X under the NVFLASH
This method necessary!
If the device is not loaded and not firmware in other ways! (If you downloaded the wrong firmware in the device)
I took the unpacked program files KDZ and added to them NVFlash and created BAT file!
Download ROM: http://www.mediafire.com/?wfokxjxi7rfoaey
Mirror: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=C5LBU3DS
Download APX driver: http://www.mediafire.com/?k559zgjlqkd5ted
Installation Instructions:
Download both files
Unpack it to the C drive to their respective folder
Remove the battery
Hold Vol Up/Down (and keep them held)
Insert the USB cable
Install APX driver from the your APX folder
For windows 7(and vista? please confirm):
Open Device Manager in Windows and you should see "APX Device" listed with an error
Right click on the APX device
Select 'Update driver software'
Select 'Let me pick...'
Select 'Have disk'
Browse to directory you extracted the APX Driver
Select the *entire* 'APX Driver' folder
Accept any warnings, including the big red alert (you may need to disable UAC)
Now in Device Manager under 'USB Controllers' you should have an 'NVIDIA USB Boot-recovery driver for mobile devices'
If not, uninstall the driver, reboot, rinse and repeat
Unplug everything
Hold Vol Up/Down (and keep them held)
Insert USB cable
open your ROM folder:
Run Flash.bat file and wait for the process
After the logo appears on the LG phone
Unplug USB cable
Insert the battery
enjoy!
After that, I recommend to firmware device with help programms KDZ or LG Mobile Update

Can you post the DLL for the G2X so we can use the LG Utilities to unpack KDZ files for this device please. So far we have been unable to get the proper DLL that enables us to unpack these files. If you unpacked the KDZ you must have the DLL unless you used another method to extract the files from the KDZ. Please elaborate on how you accomplished this. Both phburks and I have been working on this and so far we have had no success.

It is for people that have mucked up their phones to the point where LG Updater and KDZ Flash are not possible. This can be caused by many issues including, but not limited to, people flashing the O2X baseband to a G2X device. This method is purported to flash the entire Gingerbread ROM at the lowest possible hardware level. Hopefully this method is legit, but nobody has confirmed they have done it yet with the exception of the OP. Yes it is similar to ODIN for the Samsung but operating at an even lower level. With the NVFlash capability Tegra2 devices are virtually unbrickable.

Yes. It is almost as good as JTAG flashing the device. For Galaxy S devices using ODIN you still have to have the 'software download' mode working in the ROM and it is possible to brick a Galaxy S beyond the point of even getting this mode to be accessible leaving you the only way to fix the device through disassembling it and flashing via the JTAG pads. Using the NVFlash method you are flashing directly to the hardware through they Hynix flashing chip. I had another phone with a similar capability (I-Mobile i858 - Yuhua Touchstone device) and no matter how badly I F'd it up (I was developing custom roms for it) I had the similar low level flashing tool that could reflash the phone to stock so I could start over with a clean slate. If this method is legit, this is a big boon to the dev community for this device.

So you got them after the LG Updater extracted the KDZ into its component files. phburks and I didn't get that far as we didn't want to connect our already updated devices to the updater. To get to the point you did where you could grab the individual files you would have had to click the start update button. Good work.
I have 7-zip on my computer but I am unable to open up the file I just downloaded. Can you put it in another format and upload to megaupload or mediafire please? I don't want to go through that Russian site again as I got an invalid download. Also, please post the baseband file as a separate download.

What we really need is for someone to tell us how to create the config files for NVFlash so we can flash the baseband only. The new baseband is there and named 'P999_MDM.bin' if I am remembering correctly. No reason to flash an entire ROM when all someone wants is the updated baseband. If we can get the older baseband file also this tool could be used to revert the baseband also, if someone wanted to do that.

You don't have to buy anything. You just click on one sponsor site and it opens a new window. Thirty seconds later it will enable a download link. You need to click download two or three times if I remember correctly. I am at work now. I can mirror it in about ten hours if nobody else has done it yet. I looked at the files briefly and it looks legit.

Good question - that is what I am looking for rather then having to mess with the nvflash commands directly.
Update - this setup is similar to Paul's stock ROM recovery setup on modeco.com. As with his, you only have to "Run Flash.bat file and wait for the process". When I could not get off of the LGupdater screen by any other means, I ran this file from his post and it ran flawlessly - but of course I ended up with a 990's device. I tried to get back with other tools and firmware, but was never able to do it.
If this works OK, you would be able to restore your data, apps, or a nandroid and you are back in business.
I spent a week trying to restore my original (and best device as it turns out), so I am not going to fool with this right now myself. I did compare the config files from bot Paul's and this firmware and they are different - which looks real promising, as they are different.
HELP! I tried to use this and the tool failed, now I am getting ZERO response from the device. I can't even boot to APX. I'm freaking out right now!
EDIT: I managed to get the process restarted and the phone is in the process of rebooting. Hoping for the best.
EDIT 2: Phone booted up and it was all restored but for some reason the baseband was not updated :\
Did you run by using the flash.bat file? Did you hold volume up and down for the entire flash process?

Did you have old of new baseband on before flashing? What was the state of your G2X before running this?
UPDATE: It appears that this works - but would like to 100% confirm. After all the disasters that occurred from running the LGupdater tool, this would be an important fix and should be stickied at some point. Current members know of the updater problems, but new buyers and member may not - so many may still have this problem down the road.
Therefore, I believe this is an important enough item to bring to closure and make readily available.
U saved my phone's life
THANK YOU THANK YOU
followed instructions restored completley to stock just like how i got phone out of box 2 weeks ago.
I was running eaglesblood v8 and had altered the vold.fstab file to switch mounts
from sdcard to internal and after that point i rebooted and media scanner said damaged sd card well i figured it just to be like an extension of a permission of sorts. and thought if formated it would the paths would switch no problem.
im actually kind of having a hard time rembering exactly what steps i did take to **** it up royally. but went into clockwork 5 to flash another rom from internal storage or same i cant rember now and did factory reset then all hell broke loose .
couldnt mount nothing except for system i tried formating sd card even though i dont have one probally ended up formating internal lol. formated system,
re flashed all recoverie versions including stock. i was getting so mad i called google HA by the way they got some pretty good music when u have to hold.
only thing i didnt try was to load up a rom on sd card and mount that but i really doubt it would have worked and plus i couldnt even use phone to do it lol
i need to go buy drive saved me some serious cash I would say this should be enough confirmation!!

[GUIDE]How to flash LG ICS KDZ and root it!

As of 28/12/2013, I no longer have this phone. My threads will stay open for all who want to assist others. I've had a great time being a member of the O3D community, so thank you all!
For questions, requests or any other remarks, please don't send me PM, I will not answer. Instead, please post properly in the thread, so that anybody can read and benefit or even assist.
Using the LG Flashtool has never been to my liking. So, as soon as I read about the new ICS for P920, I dug up my hard drive for that nice little tool that had beautifully served me back in the ghost-calls days to easily flash back and forth Froyo and Gingerbread! After successfully upgrading once more, this time to ICS, I decided to write this guide.
DISCLAIMER: This procedure is NOT for the faint hearted! If something goes wrong and you fry your device, I cannot be held responsible. Hundreds of people have successfully upgraded (or downgraded) their devices using this guide. If something doesn't work for you then you're doing something wrong! Read the guide again and find what you've been missing.
I'm always open to suggestions. So, if you feel like I should have described some part in a different way, please say so. Of course, this means that from time to time, as new suggestions come in, I will edit parts of the guide to make it as helpful and understandable as possible. So, if you are planning to flash, stay tuned for the latest info.
Links to KDZ files
- Leaked EURO beta P920V28B_00.kdz (rename it to V28B_00.kdz)
- EURO OPEN V30A_00.kdz
- SPAIN Vfone V30B_00.kdz
- You can actually use any KDZ firmware for the P920
Flashing Part 1 (What you need):
A. Download and install LGUnitedMobileDriver attached at the end of this post.
B. Download and unzip KDZ_Flashing_Software.zip attached at the end of this post.
C. From the folder you just unzipped, install LG Mobile Support Tool (B2CAppsetup.exe). Quit the application after installation has completed.
D. Right-click on msxml 4.0 SP3 parser.msi and select Install.
E. BACKUP your data including the contents of your internal SD to your PC, especially if you're upgrading from ported SU760 ROM, cause it may be erased!!!
F. (Win7+ users only) Open the properties of the UpTestEX.exe and Windows Enabler.exe, enable XPSP3 compatibility mode and Admin rights and click OK.
Flashing Part 2 (Procedure):
1. Run "Windows Enabler.exe" and turn it on by clicking on its taskbar icon.
2. From the folder you unzipped previously, run UpTestEX.exe and select 3GQCT and CS_EMERGENCY
3. Select the KDZ file you want to flash.
4. Put your phone in S/W download mode
... To do this, you need to shutdown phone and connect USB. To make sure phone is off, press power for about 10sec. While keeping Vol-Up pressed, press power for about 3sec. After you hear the USB connection sound on the PC, you may release Vol-Up. (Depending on your bootloader, you may see the Korean S/W screen, or your screen may remain black). If this is the first time, let the PC install drivers.
5. Now click on "Normal web upgrade test" (don't click on "Start Upgrade").
6. In the new window that opens, click on "Upgrade Start".
7. Select "Different Country" and your preferred language and hit "OK".
8. Flashing has now started. Wait until you see the following...
Code:
...
...
14:37:21 : CDMA: wParam = 2004, lParam = 99
14:37:21 : Model Dll Msg Not Found(2004, 99)
14:37:23 : CDMA: wParam = 2004, lParam = 100
14:37:23 : Model Dll Msg Not Found(2004, 100)
14:37:23 : CDMA: wParam = 2001, lParam = 0
14:37:23 : Model Dll Msg Not Found(2001, 0)
(It is normal to hear the USB disconnection sound before flashing is finished. DO NOT INTERRUPT before you see the above log!)
Wait until the updater has finished.
9. Exit the tool and remove USB cable.
10. Power on the phone to see that everything works.
Factory Reset
It is not necessary but advisable to do a Factory Reset at this point, so make sure you have made a copy the contents of your Internal SD to your computer and go to System Settings/Backup & reset/Factory data reset. Select "Erase Internal Memory" and press "Reset phone".
IMPORTANT: Do not try to do the factory reset as described above after you have flashed a custom recovery. You may end up in a "recovery loop"! Instead, you can boot into your custom recovery and do the reset from there!
How to root:
There are three methods that I know of. You are free to select the one that suits you best, but Baidu is my personal favourite and can be used on other devices too.
BAIDU EASY ROOT APK (any ROM - Easiest way)
Make sure you have USB Debugging and Unknown Sources enabled.
Turn off all Internet communications (mobile data and WiFi).
Attached at the end of this post you will find the app. Just install it as a normal apk and run it. If you forgot to turn off Internet, it will ask you to upgrade. Don't let it, because the newer version will be in Chinese! Sometimes, the app may exit after you refuse to update, so be quick to hit the "root'' button before it asks.
In about a minute you will have root access. I would then recommend you to go to PlayStore and install SuperSu, run it and let it replace the su binary.
After that, you can uninstall Baidu root.
VROOT ON PC (ICS only)
Read this excellent guide by OptimusRS
FLASHABLE ZIP (any ROM)
1. Download Su_Bbox_1.20.2_gazhead_signed.zip and save it somewhere in your SD card
2. Use OS_Hacking's tool to install Wkpark's v1.25a ICS bootloader (read here if you need more help with the tool). After this step, your boot-up LG logo will be silver!
3. With the same tool install a GB recovery. (ICS recoveries are only for xbsall's ported SU760 ROM, they can't read your internal SD - Read here for an in-depth analysis)
4. Boot into recovery
5. Flash the zip from step (1) and reboot. Check your apps drawer, you should now have Superuser app.
6(optional). Now that you have root access, if you want, you can restore the Stock Bootloaders and Recovery (you can't have a custom kernel with stock bootloader). Download Stock_ICS_btldr-recov.zip (attached to this post). Reboot to recovery and flash it. Reboot. Now you have a rooted ICS with stock bootloaders and stock recovery!
Additional reading about bootloaders and recoveries. This is important info. If you understand it, you will avoid lots of problems when flashing.
Troubleshooting:
1. If you shutdown your phone from the power menu, it will turn back on by itself. This is a bug in Wkpark's 1.25a bootloader. If you want to completely shut your phone, just keep power pressed for about 10sec as soon as it starts to reboot.
2. To boot to recovery, Shut your phone down as described above. Keep Vol-down pressed and press Power for about 4sec. Release Vol-down when you see the silver LG logo. If this doesn't work, there is also another way. Again shut your phone completely. Keep Vol-down + 3D pressed and press Power for about 4sec. You will see a menu with three options. The last one will be -Recovery and it will be preselected. Release keys. In a few sec the phone will reboot to recovery. Remember that the O3D is quite stubborn and may not boot to recovery every time. Keep trying and it will work eventually!
3. I mentioned above the possibility to get into a recovery loop (your phone boots only to recovery). I have made a flashable zip to break this loop and boot back to android. Just download P920_ICS_RecoveryLoop_Breaker.zip (attached at the end of this post) to your computer. While your phone is in recovery, connect it via USB, select to mount SD to computer and copy the zip. Eject from computer and flash the zip. Reboot. After booting into system, you'll have to flash a new recovery (e.g. from ROM Manager or OS_Hacking's Tool).
4. Losing IMEI is something that doesn't normally happen when flashing KDZ files. It happens sometimes when flashing BIN/FLS. I suspect that flashing a KDZ with this guide after you have lost your IMEI will actually fix it! This remains to be proven (feedback please). Another way that has been confirmed to work is to run LG Mobile Support Tool, connect your phone in S/W download mode and select "Recovery Phone" from the "Customer Support" menu. A popup will appear asking for the IMEI. You need to type the correct one (it's written beneath the battery). The tool will then download and flash the latest official firmware for your country/provider fixing IMEI at the same time.

Agree that LG Flashtool is a joke. However, smartflash is great if you aren't doing a baseband.
This ROM has all 3D features?

The LG Flash Tool is not so bad for all of us who are used to it because we had to downgrade/upgrade ROMs during that dreadful ghost-calls era.
And according to many reports here, the LG Flash Tool /kdz method, is the most reliable when flashing the new v28b ICS rom.
I'm still not sure about the step 3 though and flashing a GB recovery instead of a ICS one, like many people did already. It may be that the "recovery loops" are cause by the bootloaders and not the ICS recoveries but this has to be confirmed.
I think you may need to replace the KDZ file name as V28B_00.KDZ.
Do i need to install wkparks boot loader if i don't want to root the phone?
And does the IMEI Change after flashing v28 via kdz?

Hi,
i've tried your guide step by step. But i'm stuck at the part 6, i'm waiting nearly 30 min with an "MOD UpTestEX MFC Application doesn't work" (translated by me) messagebox and at the taskmanager the memory usage doesn't change since the messagebox. Only the phone heats a little bit.
I have done this twice. Second try after a clean reboot and start as admin but this doesn't help.
After this the phone is unchanged.
Any advice ?

Perhaps it doesn't work with the updated drivers. Google for "LGUnitedMobileDriver_S4981MAN32AP22_ML_WHQL_Ver_3. 2.1", uninstall your drivers and install these. I will try to upload later when I get home.
Edited 1st post just to be sure.

Very good manual. 10x for the work. :good:
is there any reason to be GB? I have installed ICS CWM touch with the same tool and still work.

It's because we are now using the standard P920 (GB) partition table again, so ICS recoveries won't read your Internal SD Card!

I've downgraded but it doesn't change his behavior. Could the OS (win7 64bit) be the problem ? I found old guides where they use XP.

OK! Sorry for the trouble. I will update 1st post! I guess you have to find an XP machine or use a virtual machine or simply use LG Flashtool! You may also use Smartflash for the system (bin), but not for the baseband (fls).

[DOWNLOAD] SM-T337A Lollipop Firmware FINALLY Available For Download

I managed to pull some files together including the .pit file from my now working tablet and make a fully working 4 file firmware and combo (all in one) firmware that CAN be flashed with Odin. I have tested it on my device and it does work. Since I know people are searching EVERYWHERE for this, I have released a download link for these files below.
Please, feel free to re-post this anywhere, just be sure to credit me.
DISCLAIMER (Obviously): I WILL NOT BE HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY DAMAGE DONE TO YOUR DEVICE AFTER FLASHING. KEEP IN MIND THAT ANYTHING CAN GO WRONG, EVEN IF YOU'RE FLASHING FIRMWARE THAT IS MADE FOR YOUR DEVICE. THE FIRMWARE AVAILABLE BELOW HAS NOT BEEN MODIFIED, ENGINEERED, OR EDITED IN ANY WAY TO CHANGE THE FUNCTIONALITY OF YOUR DEVICE. IF YOUR DEVICE BRICKS AFTER FLASHING, IT'S ALL ON YOU.
Flashing instructions:
But first, the requirements:
1) SM-T337A, Obviously, but seriously, I can't stress how important it is that you check that your model number is matched with the model number in this thread before flashing anything.
2) A Windows pc (NOT A VIRTUAL MACHINE! Using a VM to flash your device has a high chance to hard-brick your tab, and make sure your computer is running Windows XP or newer.)
3) Your device's USB transfer/charging cable
4) A Brain (Obviously)
Now then, the actual steps (4 File Firmware):
1) Boot your tab into download mode (Shut the device down completely, then hold down the power, volume down, and home button at the same time until a warning message appears)
2) Download and open Odin on your pc
3) Grab the USB charging cable and plug your tab into your pc
4) If Odin does not show your device in the list (It will display an "Added" message if the device is detected) download the Samsung USB Drivers for Mobile Phones and install it to your pc. You may need to/and it is recommended to restart your computer after installing the drivers.
5) Extract the zip file you downloaded containing the firmware to your desktop or a memorable place on your computer.
6) If you wish to wipe your data and start from scratch, click on the 'PIT' tab and select the .pit file in the extracted folder. Then, click the 'OPTIONS' tab and select 'Re-Partition' and 'NAND Erase All'.
7) Insert the firmware files into Odin. Within Odin, for instance, Click on the 'BL' button, which is where the bootloader file goes. Select the extracted package that has 'BL' at the beginning, and vice versa.
Example:
BL: *directory*/BL_T337AUCU2BOH4...
AP: *directory*/AP_T337AUCU2BOH4...
CP: *directory*/CP_T337AUCU2BOH4...
CSC: *directory*/CSC_ ATT_T337AUCU2BOH4...
8) Once done, verify that you have correctly done all the steps above, click 'Start' in Odin and wait for Odin to output a "PASS" message before unplugging anything.
9) If you wish to flash the firmware, but keep your data, make sure that there is no .pit file in Odin, make sure that 'Re-Partition' and 'NAND Erase All' are unchecked, and make sure that there is no file inserted under the 'CSC' row.
Tutorial (Combo Firmware)
6) Within Odin, Select 'AP' and browse to the directory where you extracted the firmware, and select the .tar package in the directory. There should be nothing else under the other tabs, only 'AP' should have a firmware package in it.
7) Flashing this package (unless you perform the "Developers Tip" at the end of this thread) will wipe all of your data, so be sure that the proper .pit file that came with the firmware package is selected under the 'PIT' tab in Odin and make sure that 'Re-Partition' and 'NAND Erase All' are checked in Odin to ensure a complete wipe of all personal data on the device. If you perform the developers tip at the end of the thread, simply insert the new package you created under 'AP', make sure there is no .pit file under the PIT slot, and make sure that 'Re-Partition' and 'NAND Erase All' are unchecked in Odin.
8) Once done, verify that everything is set and ready-to-go, then click 'Start' and wait for Odin to output a "PASS" message before unplugging anything.
9) Enjoy!
WARNING: If you are seeing sites that charge you money for the files, DO NOT BUY IT. They are scams and I HIGHLY SUGGEST AVOIDING THESE SITES. I didn't have to buy anything. If you do buy the firmware from these scam sites, and your device becomes bricked or messed up in some way, don't say I didn't warn you.
4 File Firmware Download: https://mega.nz/#!n8Q3VIIS!OComhygeI5SL5R6n0EXEfiYMBtVn_aOAIcUuLgmYs-k

Odin 3.12 Download: https://mega.nz/#!KsZiHKTb!aEHdQgO7JAQeUwdJWqS0xoR3lyJH4ieJ6qTbVKce8Zk
If the link doesn't work or goes down for some reason or if you were confused by my instructions in any way, please let me know.
Developers Tip: If you want to flash firmware without wiping your data, make sure there is no pit file selected under the PIT tab in Odin, then extract your firmware package (extract everything into a separate folder for combo firmware, extract the CSC package for 4 file downloads) and remove cache.img.ext4 then repack as a .tar file. Applies to both combo and 4 file firmware packages. In 4 file packages, cache.img.ext4 is in the CSC file. However, in some cases this may put your device in a bootloop. If you wish to do this on an older device and the cache file doesn't have the .ext4 extension at the end, don't worry, it'll work the same way.
Now that you have the firmware, WHY NOT ROOT IT? Check out my thread on how to do so here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/tab-4/general/root-how-to-root-sm-t337a-supersu-t3553848

I'll be honest and say its not easy. Making this firmware took me about 3 months. OTA update files are very different from actual Odin firmware files. If you want to extract the files from an OTA update, I just used 7Zip and went from there.
Lollipop 5.1.1 Root for SM-T337A
@KingOfTheNet - Great stuff. There are definitely some shady sites out there offering firmware for the T337A so thank you.
Not to be greedy but any recommendations on rooting 5.1.1 on SM-T337A. I am trying to remove all of the Samsung and AT&T bloatware and get my Tab 4 running lean and mean. I am pretty sure I went with your firmware - my build number is listed as LMY47X.T337AUC2BOH4.
Appreciate the support.

Your welcome bro, happy to help! I have actually rooted my tab with SuperSU, fully working. The only thing is its temporary, and I avoid rebooting or shutting the device down at all because it's a system-less SuperSU (meaning temporary). I'll make a thread on how to achieve root on this tab later tomorrow when I get home from work, unless someone replies to this before I do (It's late where I'm at).
Cheers!

Hello! ... First of all, thank you for all your hard work! But unfortunately that firmware does not seem to work for me. I'm a little newbie, so I'd appreciate if someone could explain the steps to follow specifically with Odin, as a tutorial or something ... so that I can distinguish what I'm doing wrong.
I uploaded a short video so you can see what I mean... If you could take the time to watch it and tell me what I'm doing wrong, that would be awesome.
Here it is: youtu.be/9JsLVJ-xHMA (I cannot post direct link since I'm new user)
I've downloaded some files with name ATT_T337AUCU2BOH4_T337AATT2BOH4.zip (1.19gb) put by poorusernamebychoice and their tar.md5 file is gone 404.

It's actually very easy, that's why I didn't put any instructions in the thread, I just assumed people knew how to do it by now. But I'm happy to provide instructions to those people who don't know how. Instead of posting said instructions right here, I'll update the thread with instructions.
Cheers!

No, this thread is for the Tab 4 8.0 AT&T. Please make sure you consult the relevant forums for your device model as doing anything meant to be done on different devices can be catastrophic.
Cheers!

Finally got the instructions up. You can check the very beginning of the thread for instructions on flashing. Just remember, I will not be held responsible if your device is bricked after the matter.
Cheers!

check settings about look for model name.
example mine is gody 4k 3+32....but really its just a R-BOX 3G
search google for firmware that is in .zip format. example search "R-BOX 3G firmware" quiet a few out there but sofar they all fail checksum.
use app backup and update to load zip.
most of them will fail checksum and not work or will be in .rar format which requires ADB push.
another one is a Chinese program called usb buring tool which requires usb from computer which will work but is hard to understand.
I havent been able to fix mine.

Ques. On Rooting, ROM Dump & More (Problems With All)

I've got the ZTE Blade V Smart (2050) that uses the MT6771 processors. It had been rooted on Android 9 which caused me to lose my IMEI, but I removed root, and then updated the phone to Android 10. After updating I received the NVRAM ERROR in my wifi settings. What did I do? I did a data factory reset thinking it would update properly the next time. Wrong! I tried over 20 times at least. I have searched high and low online for a backup of the firmware to download so I can achieve root again and fix the wifi error. No success unless I wanna pay. Then, I attempted to do a ROM dump using Wwr and SPFT. No success there either. After that I began downloading the crack box programs to see if I could possibly get one to root me or do anything. In doing so, I discovered that the MT6771_scatter.txt for Android 10 is not the same as on Android 9. So my question is, how can I dump my ROM if the scatter files from Android 9 & 10 are different? I would really like to have root again also so I can fix the NVRAM wifi issue, as well as use some of the perks of having Magisk and it's modules on my phone. Thank you in advance for any assistance.

Use Mtkclient to Backup/flash any Partition wanted. You won't need a scatter.txt for this. You can make your own by using Mtkclient to read/pull the GPT table only (partition info) using:
Code:
python mtk printgpt
then manually creating a scatter file on your own by editing the old Android 9 scatter (and changing differences). Hope I helped

I ended up being able to pull the scatter using mtk deauthorization tool. Still having trouble with Wwr, SPFT, Meta, and MTK Tool all reading my phone though. They ask get to a certain point in the process and just stop. Then the apps usually crash. I checked and rechecked my drivers, I've uninstalled and reinstalled everything several times. It only happens with those apps. This is the same as it was doing before when I was running Android 9 also. I can get any other apps to read my phone, but the ones I need to actually read... No so much.
