Was browsing through Amazon for usb c items to play around with when I get my S10+ and I found this.
Satechi Aluminum Type-C Mobile Pro Hub Adapter with USB-C PD Charging, 4K HDMI, USB 3.0 & 3.5mm Headphone jack
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07K6YFW7X/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_SGLCCbPMV7F3G
Says it's for the iPad pro but usb c so it should work for us also. May order it tonight and post a review if I do.
I got the otterbox defender with the clip. I've always gotten one for every one of my phones and never had an issue or broken screen.

So here's what I want to do: remember when iPods (with clickwheels) were all the craze and everyone had a speaker dock for their iPod. You would stick your iPod on the dock and it would charge while it played music from speakers. I want to make a dock for my Pixel that sends out audio (3.5mm) and charges it at the same time. The idea is essentially to have a USB-C to to double USB-C splitter (basically impossible to find), into that I would plug a USB-C to 3.5mm adapter and a charger. Probably wouldn't be fast charging, and I'm okay with that.
Would such a thing work?
Is there a better way to do it? I have seen cables that are micro-USB on one side and 3.5mm and USB-A on the other side. That's what I'm going for.
I can't find anything that plugs into USB-C and has 2 USB-C ports on the other side. Do they exist?

The Pixel has both USB C port and 3.5mm headphone jack, no need to invent or look for a splitter.
You can use a standard USB C dock or a plain stand and plug in the charger and the 3.5mm cable.

The whole idea is to make something where I don't have to plug into the phone's 3.5mm jack, like an old iPod dock.
I have purchased and received the Dell Universal Dock - D6000. It works well with the Pixel C and Pixel 2 XL. I am sure it will work well with other Android devices.
http://www.dell.com/en-us/shop/dell-universal-dock-d6000/apd/452-bcyt/pc-accessories
"Conveniently dock any laptop equipped with USB-C or USB3.0 ports with the Dell Universal Dock - D6000. You’ll be able to connect up to three 4K displays simultaneously."
This dock allows for multiple displays using DisplayLink technology with no lag. It also charges your Android device while being docked unlike other alternatives. I'm currently using this as a laptop replacement at work and so far it's been working well. I have a Dell USB keyboard and Dell USB mouse connected to the dock which both work well. I have also tested USB flash drives and USB external drives and all seem to be working flawlessly.
Things I haven't tested:
- Sound (speakers, headphones, etc.)
- 3 monitors (I've only tested with 2)
This is a great solution for those of us trying to transition to 100% tablet. There are a few apps that I require which don't reside on a mobile platform. For these, I simply use RD client and remote desktop into a Windows 10 machine to perform these tasks.
Please let me know if there are any questions or if you would like for me to test something before being able to make a purchase decision.

What is the experience like with 2 monitors? Do you just have 3 screens showing the same image (mirroring) or can you send apps to different screens?
With two screens, you can place different apps on each screen.

does usb tethering work with this hub?
Does not work with Vivo nex
Does not work with Vivo nex :crying:
are you connecting to USB-C, if so, does it share the display and charge your phone at the same time?
I got to play with a D6000 recently and yes it does charge & mirror the display at the same time over USB C. I only had 1 monitor tho so I couldn't see if/how the multiple display scenario works.
Any extra software needed?
I have a D6000 at work, tried to plug my Samsung S9 in. I can use the keyboard and mouse connected, sounds go through the dock, but i can't get video to come to the monitor. Is there a seeing our anniversary that I am missing, or is it the overly Samsung modified OS?

You need the DisplayLink app to make this work.
Thank you, that was it. Works great now.

Did you actually get this working?
The Dell D6000 dock looks like a good choice, but it and other native USB-C DisplayLink docks are rather expensive, typically well over $100 even for used ones.
The older Dell D3000 dock also works, but since it uses a USB-A 3.0 cable, it does not charge your phone while your phone is driving the dock. Well, there's a workaround for that. My recipe is:
$15, https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B09PFQXJR3?th=1
MOGOOD USB C to USB C Female Adapter USB Splitter Y Cable
$8, https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B09S2Y7Z5S/
JSAUX USB Type C Male to USB 3.0 Female OTG Adapter
c. $40 used on Ebay, Dell D3000 Docking Station.

The key unusual bit is that MOGOOD "Splitter" cable. I'm not sure what it's really doing internally, but it let's you hook up an extra USB cable to charge your phone, while your phone is still driving the dock! In my brief testing so far, it seems to work fine. With the DisplayLink Presenter app installed, my phone displays on the external monitor, and says it is charging at the same time too. I have not actually tried any of the other features of the dock yet, like the Ethernet port, etc.

I happen to have dell 3100 docking station and I'm thinking of doing the same setup.
I presume you are using Android phone?
Does it have any specific capabilities like display over USB?

Yes, a Google Pixel 3a. No, no special capabilities. I just run the standard DisplayLink app from the Google App Store to make the external monitor mirror the phone's screen.

Just ordered a Oneplus 6, it will be my first USB C device, any recommendations for USB C - OTG adapters that work nicely?
Thanks!
I have had this for 1.5 years for now and works as expected (atleast with usb stick... first with OP 3T and now with OP6): https://www.aliexpress.com/item/Typ...330.html?spm=a2g0s.9042311.0.0.27424c4dxAL2qC
such a discomfort that otg cannot functioning via any cable.
It's highly inconvenient to remove my magnet adapter for magnet cable.
OnePlus sells one from their website https://www.oneplus.com/oneplus-type-c-otg-cable
I got this one from Amazon and it works great.
https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B01COOQIKU/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I bought this one and it works well - Type C to USB 3.0 OTG Adapter, USB-C 3.1 Male to USB 3.0 A Female Adapter, aloici USB-C OTG Host Cable (On the Go) for MacBook Pro, Galaxy S9/8/Note8/Tab, Pixel 2, OnePlus5, Sony XZ and More (black) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B076ZH1P5M?ref=yo_pop_ma_swf
Around 10$.
Usb typa C to Usb 3.1 OTG adapter.
I got this since OnePlus 3 phone. Works fine on Op6. Just instaled one rom with it.
Hi guys, I got a usb 3.0 I used to use on my Samsung, now I got an adaptor for my op6, I have an issue, everything works great, but the videos are laggy, what could this be any ideas, adaptor fault, or the usb is too slow?
I got an adaptor with my Mayflash Magic-NS wireless adaptor. It's working nicely on my Switch and on my phone (yeah I can use various wireless controllers, some of which would not work well on android due to this device). Works for my USB disk on this phone nicely too.

Hi,
I want to buy the oneplus 7.
Can you confirm this phone has HDMI output ? Some people say it does only work with op7 pro.
If you manage to make it work, can you tell me which dock did you use ?
Thanks,
I dont know about hdmi (i havent a cable to test) but ScreenCast(aka Miracast, aka mirror your screen by wifi) work much better than op3, more quality, stability and less lag [i test it with same tv, same wifi only diferent is the phone]
oneplus 7 supports HDMI out via USB type C port

Amazon Basics USB C to HDMI adapter and then normal HDMI
I have a HAMA dock from a usb c to HDMI/usb c/2x 3.0 usb A ports. It does output video and audio, the charging and video output is kinda fiddly. Tried getting the AMPERE app from playstore to get a reading on the charge current but it doesn't seem to detect it charging although i do think the phone is getting power. (I guess 900ma, that's what;s written on the back side of the dock). While charging and video output i managed to plug an usb stick and it worked. Tried plugging a usb mouse but for some reason it did not work.
Has anyone try this out?

I'm sure it works on most phones out there. It works on my buddies iPhone 5 and that's how many years old
I had seen a couple threads where someone said they had a DisplayLink adapter working with a Pixel. I don't remember which model specifically, but I think it was a Pixel 1 or 2. I didn't try it myself because the adapter isn't cheap, but maybe now I'll have to look into it again.
