Is there any way to get ant+ working on the rn6p?
I've installed the ant+ radio and service but not getting any cadence data etc across from my bt dongle attached to my bike trainer.
I had a dig through the settings after installing ant+ tester and going to extra permissions and enabling the hardware.
Problem is now it thinks I'm cycling at 200mph ?

Hi all
Of course, I know that Htc Desire has got it's own Gps head but i've read several times that it will suck the battery damn quickly...
I was wondering, instead of this inernal GPS head, would it be more interesting, in term of battery life, to use a Bluetooth (BT ) connection to an external head...
I've tried it...No problem to have the external head ( Holux GPSslim236 ) beeing recognaized and paired...but it fails to connect...and I have no idea what it missing
In a previous life, when I was using my Windows Mobile PDA, in order to connect such a head, I had to provide a specific Com8 port, along with a SPP service to the BT...
so, two quickies..
1) Has that been already tested ?
2) Successfull i.e connected ?
Thks for having read all that
Haven't tried it yet, but I believe the WhereYouGo application has support for external Bluetooth devices. Might want to give it a try
There are a few app for this:
- Bluetooth GPS
- Bluetooth GPS Provider
- Bluetooth GPS Mouse
- Bluetooth GPS For Android
....
Some have been tested on this blog: AndroGeoid.
Hi folks
do we have any ANT+ people who would be willing to help me troubleshoot my ANT+ issues on my Xperia Z1?
No-one on the Z1 forum seems interested in ANT+ - which is understandable as it is slightly niche
Sony Xperia Z1 with rooted stock (android 4.3) (and ANT+ radio and ANT+ service) installed.
Garmin soft strap HRM.
I find that when I start ANT+ in an app (e.g. oruxmaps, ipsensor man etc) sometimes it connects to my HRM without any issue, but then crashes later or sometimes it doesn't connect at all.
I also find that if it has connected but then I stop ANT+ in the app and then start again, it never re-connects to my HRM.
A temporary fix in both cases is to stop ANT+ via the app, toggle off bluetooth in phone settings and then start ANT+ again in the app. Works temporarily 100% of the time, but after a minute or two the ANT+ connection drops again.
When I am experiencing the issue connecting to the HRM, if I have toggled on the Developer Option "Show all ANRs", I am getting ANRs from the ANT radio service.
When I am experiencing the issue connecting to the HRM, if I do not stop ANT+ in the app and toggle off bluetooth in phone settings, bluetooth is restarted. I cannot understand why bluetooth is seemingly being activated by ANT+/apps.
I have tested the phone in isolation and in parallel with my PC monitoring application (Golden Cheetah). The PC is rock solid i.e. the PC connection to the HRM is not dropping out when the phone loses the connection to the HRM.
What can I do to troubleshoot this issue?
I already replaced the HRM battery last night, and have gone through multiple times unistalling apps, blowing away app settings etc etc.
thanks
I use Endomondo as work out app.
Currently using a Polar BT Smart heart rate monitor, and would like to connect another Bluetooth Smart/LE unit (a cadence censor). Anybody knows if it´s possible to connect TWO units at the same time on the N5?
Is it possible to connect an external HR sensor like the Wahoo Tickr to the Gear S3 using either Bluetooth or ANT+?
On samungs Web page it says that theres no ant+ radio on the watch. :crying:
So isn't there somebody that have tested the watch with a Bluetooth hrm?
Interested on that as well. As the watch doesn't have ANT+, it can only connect to Garmin compatible HR using the watch (less ideal, need watch on person). As for BT HR, not sure - in the watch menu, one can only find connecting to headset, not HR bands...
If there is no provisioning for external HR input, even if you connect with a Bluetooth HR band, there will not be any communication to it. From what we know, the only Bluetooth devices the S3 talks to are your phone and wireless headphones.

I would also like to pair my Wahoo Tickr X with my Gear S3.
Are there any custom roms in which the developers could add this functionality?
I sold my Gear S3, it is not good for fitness purposes unfortunately, so bad!
Greetings,
l run outside putting on gear sport without my smartphone, and I want gear to track my running course with Endomondo app.
