I have a rooted S7 (SM-930F) and I want to install the nougat stock ROM. Currently I have oreo and the bootloader has a newer version than the one from the nougat ROM and I can't flash the nougat with odin.
How can I downgrade the bootloader so I can flash the nougat stock ROM with odin?
If I install a custom ROM based on android nougat, would the bootloader downgrade so I can flash then the nougat stock ROM?
Is this possible at all?
Thanks.

The bootloader will not downgrade but you can flash a custom nougat rom

So i installed a custom noughat rom on my note 5. I can switch to marshmellow any time i want by twrp and my backed up marsellow rom..
But i am confused how is Flashing Android Noughat custom rom using TWRP diffrent from Flashing Noughat ROM using ODIN?
Is the diffrent just that noughat custom rom is running under marshmellow boot loader?
I am new to Android so please Explain
Am i losing any thing by not updating via OTA ???

First off, you do not lose anything by updating through OTA except the convenience factor. The reason you can flash a Nougat ROM on your phone through twrp right now is because the Nougat ROM has a marshmellow baseband, just like your phone. Once the firmware comes out officially by Samsung and TMobile then you will need to Odin the firmware on your phone to be able to use Nougat ROMs with the nougat firmware.

I see i get it now.
I think i will stick with custom roms because i do not want to risk flashing odin.

This is something to be familiar with if you flash custom roms and own a Samsung.
Hello,
I'm pretty new to roms. I have a Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge G935F and want to install The King of Nougat rom. In the install instructions it asks that I install the new bootloader and baseband. I just rooted this phone and installed twrp and it is still on the stock firmware Nougat 7.0. My question is if I update the bootloader and baseband will it affect the my backup of the stock firmware if I restore back? Also will it affect any other roms i decide to install in the future or do all other roms come with their own bootloaders and basebands? Any advice is very much appreciated.
Thanks
How Take a recovery compatible to Nougat in D6603?
I have a z3 d6603 and i unlocked the bootloader, but now i can't install android nougat, only I can install android 6.0.1.
How can I install a recovery that is compatible with the nougat android?
When i flash a Nougat kernel I can't acess to recovery but in marshmallow i do it without problem.
What Nougat kernel are you flashing?
There are no stock Nougat kernels for Z3 only the AOSP ones.
With those you will need to flash a recovery to the recovery partition / FOTA partition on the phone in order to have a recovery.
We need more specific information here.
hi,
i'm currently on the latest uk XEU stock marshmallow firmware and would like to try out nougat, but want to be sure i can still get back to marhsmallow again if i want. this all via flashing stock firmware with odin. knox is still intact.

You can't downgrade using a stock nougat firmware due to the fact that you can't flash a firmware that has an older binary than the binary version of the currently installed firmware, for this reason, you will not be able to flash a stock nougat firmware.
But, if your bootloader is unlocked and there is a TWRP recovery for your specific model number and there if there are Nougat custom ROMs for your device, you can flash TWRP and then flash a Nougat ROM for your device. If there is not a TWRP or no custom ROMs for your specific model number, you will not be able to go back to nougat.
