I have been searching for this for 1week now...and its all cause in " Dev Option " the ( OEM is Hidden ). Atleast im stuck in this part with this phone cause the rest i know with Odin.

I just got this phone a few days ago and I'm already looking for a root as well. I found one post on a root for this phone, but I kinda doubt it's legit. If you search 'Samsung galaxy SM-J737A root' on google, it should be the first search results. I'm keeping an eye on these forums for now.

If you see KG STATUS: checking or if it's not there after the wait time then you shouldn't need to use the OEM unlock option
Original recovery post for the J7 2017
https://forum.xda-developers.com/ga...fm-g-gm-x-samsung-galaxy-j7-pro-t3835629/amp/
https://mega.nz/file/fFFSxALD#1nOVnhF0k6vojg19bK60YCSugHH4LPULdmhYx-wHhP0 here is the J7 2017 recovery that should work since the 2018 model is the exact same but minor screen differences (I do not take credit for this recovery I'm just supplying the link)
It should flash without issues as the bootloader should already be unlocked

Galaxy J7 Pop/Galaxy Halo

Hi, I'm trying to dive into the J7 community and have the new Galaxy Halo on Cricket in the US. It's manufacturer name is the J7 Pop, but Cricket branded it as Halo. The internal model is SM-J727AZ. I'm looking for users who have this phone and if there has been any support yet, even if just some threads talking about it. I can't find a single thing.
Hope this helps people find this forum, too! Thanks.

I guess there aren't many Cricket users? IMO best deal. I hope to see this phone get root soon also.
The only thing I've found so far is a firmware download. I don't know if website is any good.

Good to see a response! And I agree, best service deal and this phone is fantastic. I've run the one-clicks and submitted requests for it, too, although I'm not sure how well that's gonna go over with Nougat.

Yes, it doesn't work. It's not for the same phone either.

it is also the j7 perx thru sprint...and there is a root available for the perx, it should work on your phone. Of course verify that yourself, here is the link https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-j7/help/root-sm-j727p-galaxy-j7-perx-galaxy-j7-t3598117. People are also working on a twrp recovery (I myself am trying, but it will probably be obsolete by the time I get it to work) definitely check your chipset...some list as msm and others as exynos chips

Awesome! I'll give that a try and report back. If it works I'll make a guide for it.
"Unfortunately as far as I know that device has a locked bootloader and there are no known methods as yet to root bootloader locked devices running NN. " is the response on that thread
Guess no root for us. No way we're getting this bootloader unlocked anytime soon.
I have just purchased a SM-J727T, which is labeled as a J7 Prime, but i believe it is also a J7 Pop. Looking for Recovery and Root as well...
From what I'm seeing, if the bootloader is locked and you can't access "OEM Unlock" in developer settings, it's not happening. Hell, they still haven't unlocked the S7 or S8...

The instructions are in the post, enable dev options and unlock is there. You also have to wipe data to fix encryption
I read the entire post, our bootloader is locked. There is no "OEM Unlock" even after turning on USB debugging in the dev menu. It just isn't going to show. Cricket locks bootloaders the same way AT&T does.
After doing a lot of research, it looks like it isn't going to be easy to root phones that don't have unlockable bootloaders with Nougat and beyond. For Cricket users we have three options. Buy an older phone such as the Alcatel Idol 3. Not too bad of a phone. Buy a phone like the Moto G5 Plus that has a bootloader that can be unlocked and buy a Cricket sim for it. Don't buy Amazon Prime version. And lastly live without root.
Are sure yours is a 727t, (with the 13mp camera)? TMobile vehemently denies that the 727t Pop exists! I get the impression that they are trying to get rid of the old 8mp Primes which they have in stock before they release the Pop or Max

Can you flash firmware files on your phone an if so has anyone tried to switch bl file in Odin ?
I guess it's pretty much useless chat without the CPU-Z info. From what I see about these J727 series, it's mandatory to know what CPU does the device have - they're all different. If it's Qualcomm-based thingie, maybe this will work... If it is Exynos - then perhaps someone will do something about it, since Exynos 7870 is nothing new...
There's big and one "but": it's the useless chat if the bootloader in Galaxy Halo is really under lockdown (means Samsung has put the signature check enforcement in the Download Mode). If it's unlocked like the J7 Perx or Galaxy Wide 2, we're lucky...
Stock Firmware/ .md5 file to flash via Odin for SM-J727AZ?
I can't find the Stock Firmware/ md5.tar file to flash via Odin for SM-J727AZ that doesn't look like a bogus website or you need a VIP membership.....phone wont boot, only goes to download mode...I tried looking on the usual places like SamFirm program, the sammobile.com, etc...Can anyone assist?

ROOT & Stock ROM for SM-J727S Galaxy J7 May 2017

Hi guys,
I was hoping someone could help me out. I have rooted before (long time ago) but I can't seem to find a lot of information on this specific phone (SM-J727S). I have been searching online (and across many dodgy looking websites, thanks No Script!) and this is about all that I have found:
The Galaxy J7 is also known as the Galaxy Wide 2 in South Korea
http://pdadb.net/index.php?m=device&id=11601&c=samsung_sm-j727s_galaxy_wide_2
It was released on May 2017, runs Android 7.0 (Nougat) and uses the Exynos chipset
TWRP has a release for the J700 series but I'm not sure if it would work on the J727S
https://twrp.me/devices/samsunggalaxyj7exynos.html
The source code for the system has been released, but I couldn't find a stock ROM (which made me reluctant to try TWRP)
http://opensource.samsung.com/reception/receptionSub.do?method=sub&sub=F&searchValue=j727s
This is the closest I got to a Stock ROM but I don't trust the site, is this site trustworthy? (again, I came across too many dodgy sites to just download anything)
https://stockromupdate.com/2017/07/26/stock-rom-sm-j727s-samsung-galaxy-wide-2/
The KingRoot method currently will not work and is asking me to wait for an update (phone is probably too new to root?)
The closest thing I can find on this forum are these posts (but none reference the J727S model)
https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-j7/development/root-sm-j727p-galaxy-j7-perx-td-lte-t3611202
https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-j7/help/root-sm-j727p-galaxy-j7-perx-galaxy-j7-t3598117
So, I'm hoping someone could point me in the right direction. Thanks in advance
I'd thought I'd mention that the bootloader is unlockable in this phone. I had read elsewhere that other people cannot access the 'OEM Unlock' option on their version of the J7. It isn't the case with this phone
https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-j7/help/galaxy-j7-pop-galaxy-halo-t3647805/page2
I also got a message from Google talking about my accounts being accessed by a 'J7 Pop'. I guess the Galaxy Wide 2 is also known as the J7 Pop?
So, I'm still on the track of rooting this device. I'm just gonna update any relevant stuff here.
The closest TWRP that I can find is for the 2016 version of this phone, it has the same Exynos chipset.
I'm thinking of trying this, but are there any problems with flashing the wrong version of TWRP? (Will I brick the phone? Or will it just error-out on recovery and boot normally?)
https://twrp.me/devices/samsunggalaxyj72016exynos.html
I also found (what I believe to be) the Stock ROM for this type of phone, you have to sign up to the site in order to download it. It is specific to SK Telecom (Korean telecommunications provider)
https://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/samsung-galaxy/SM-J727S/SKC/download/J727SKSU1AQD6/172065/
If someone can advise about going forward with the similar TWRP version I'd appreciate it. Cheers!
EDIT: Kinda answered my own question, from the TWRP download page https://dl.twrp.me/j7xelte/
Downloading an image for a different device, no matter how similar, usually does not work.

Any way to request an TWRP version?
I am Korean, and it's very hard It's angry me............................
XDDDD I'm from South Korea too and the J727S is customized with the Knox Enrollment Service that blocks the wifi and cellular data AND apk installization. (trying to uninstall it )
I found this: https://www.androidinfotech.com/2018/02/root-samsung-galaxy-wide-2-sm-j727s-nougat.html
anyone habe twrp for this model ????
Hi.. I've this model also.. tried to downgrade..but it can't..always failed
My friend was installing the twrp to root a J7 metal.
Now the cell phone does not restart, and I do not know what the **** it did KKkkkkkkkkkk
It wants to remove the twrp without formatting the device.
If installing the original rom by Odin using home_csc does it return to normal without formatting?

Leagoo S8, ROM and rooting

Hello
So i will get a Leagoo S8 phone next week, switching from a redmi note 3, and i am planing to root it instantly becouse i heard there are some bloatware apps and i will instal a custom rom onto the device.
Upon searching the forums and the interwebs i found no tutorials / resources that would lead me in the right direction. I did find a tutorial for Leagoo M8 ROM on here but will it work on S8?
So i hope anybody here can help me.
Cheers

I have a Leagoo T5c, and I found that option in Developer settings too, so if it is self-explanatory, then bootloader should be unlockable, right? I too would like to root my phone, but contrarily to the S8, that uses a MediaTek SoC, mine uses a brand-new SpreadTrum chip, and I'm not sure it can rooted at the moment.

updated mine from LEAGOO_S8_OS4.0_20171107 to LEAGOO_S8_OS4.0_20180227 and its working fine.
less heat, less lag, camera less grainy indoors (before was grainy but great outdoors, now its both great) curved display was fix(no need for rounder apps) but i was still unable to root the phone (would be great if it was rooted so i can remove apps rather than disable them and tune things up)

can you confirm if the boot-verified.img
inside the firmware of leagoo s8 that i download can be used for magisk to be patch and flash it through adb? thanks
From what Ive found, modifiing any of the boot or recovery files will screw up some verification, then youll have to format and flash the whole rom again possibly getting a NVRAM Warning error. So, does anyone know a way to verify(?) the edited files (boot.img -> build.prop(or default.prop?)), or any workaround? Also, I think that the bootloader kind of worked in the Leagoo OS version that came with the phone (althrough, I tried to unlock the bootloader then, it showed YES/NO and warnings like on any good phone, except that the YES selection did NOTHING, the bootloader stayed locked no matter what), havent you guys by any chance updated from Needrom?(I did) I think that the newer version had removed the bootloader completely. Someone should post the first stock rom version if you have it.

I think that in order to flash any modified files, we need to generate/verify all of the files.
Anyone any ideas? What file/s is/are the key to verifying flash files? Or is there a code somewhere in every flash file (recovery-VERIFIED.img, boot-VERIFIED.img)?
Why is Leagoo so damn good at making those things hard to unlock. As I said before, in the 1. version you could at least access (broken) fastboot, now the phone just turns off when accessing fastboot.
latest firmware with user debug possibly can extract root
latest firmware userdebug..possibly root solution can be extract..

I need help with RMM state bypass on S8+

So I wanna root my S8+ SM-G955F and I wanna know which RMM_state_bypass_Mesa should I use a video I saw (published in 2018 octomber I think) was using the vol. 1 version and mentioned that RMM bypass is very important to not get into a OEM lock bootloop, anyways. As I said It mentioned that it was very important so I searched a bit more and I found out a newer version the RMM_state_bypass_v2
Here:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=75360965&postcount=22
I wanna know if I should use the vol.1 (the guy in the older video uses) or the newer one I found (the vol.2) with TWRP recovery so I won't get into a bootloop.
Any help would be appreciated.

SM-A205U (MetroPCS) OEM Unlock

Hello,
Just wanted to share this with the community as I found this just yesterday. If you goto your settings and click connections then "More connection settings" towards the bottom there is an option for "Network Unlock". I did this like I said yesterday and it permanent unlocked the phone. I don't have any other SIM cards to try and see if it will go on a different network but just wanted to point this out to the community!

That's not an OEM unlock, you've only unlocked the SIM card lock.

It's our specific model.
There are no 205u units in public domain that exist with an oem toggle.
It's disabled by default in the 205u source.
The only way this might be possible is with combination firmware but in all my searching so far i have yet to find bootloader 5 combination firmware ...
If anyone can find me a bootloader 5 android 10 combination firmware for the 205U varient i would be willing to see if there would be a way to get this rooted and bootloader unlocked

The combination file is from an older bootloader, so it retains the most recent bootloader to maintain integrity of the Qfuse.
That's kinda why we want the combination file for 10, the bootloader hasn't changed which means the file would be universal for anyone who updates.
