October Android Security update Galaxy note 4/edge soft reboot fix?

Hi,
Anyone here with a note 4 or edge who received the October Android Security update have input whether the glitches with soft reboots have been fixed?

updated mine to dpj1, reboots still exist... really not funny at all.

Anyone know I was of downgrading to kitkat without voiding the warranty?

I wiped and reimaged and still have freezing and soft boots.

I got the November 1st security patch, does this fix all the reboots?

I don't know what reboots you guys are talking about. Haven't experienced this on my note edge. Whenever it does happen it's because of a custom kernel

Confirmed I keep receiving the soft reboots after the novemeber update

I don't have a custom kernel and it still happens. The ony thing that gets rod of it is having no screen security. It probably still reboots on its own without you just don't get prompted because the phone doesn't ask to put your password in. Some have said that if you give it to Samsung they will fix it? Can anyone confirm?

I get these soft reboots constantly... almost every time I lock the screen?
Genuinely flummoxed that no one has come up with a fix yet. ..

EDIT: I can confirm, there are no reboots, no password requests, and after some weeks now not even more battery drain , seems that this new firmware solved the problems.
So, finally I got rid of the random reboots and the lockscreen-problems.
I updated to the most recent version of MM 6.0.1 (see attached screenshot), and did it as follows:
first I made a backup of all my user files. I deleted all stored fingerprints, and disabled all lockscreens.
Then I updated via Samsung Kies (first time ever, did NOT use the OTA)
after finishing the update I booted into recovery and made a factory reset twice!
After reboot and initial setup I enabled fingerprint lockscreen and registered my fingerprints, then reinstalled all apps from app store, done.
After two weeks not a single reboot, no crash, fingerprint works flawless!

Nougat Update

Anyone else force to download the Nougat update over the network then have it fail on install? Now it says the device is up to date, did they push something too early?

I just downloaded and install, everything went fine. Install took about 40mins.

Odd, mine downloaded, installed with no problems of any kind.
One app that hasn't worked since Marshmallow now works fine with Nougat so I'm happy about that.
I don't really see any difference other than that, I run Nova launcher.

Can anyone share the kdz?

I didn't automatically get the update notification but when I went to settings -> general -> system updates -> check for new system update, it found the nougat update.
In my case, I started the download in a nice wifi area and then left that area while the download was going so eventually the download failed. I had figured it would just resume later. It hasn't. Now it shows a message on the system updates screen: Software not updated to 26B Failed Error Code: 412.
I can't figure out a way to restart the download. I've even tried the Software Upgrade Assistant.
If anyone figures out how to restart the download, please share.

26B update automaticaly downloaded at 11:15am est on 12/1/16, 16 minute download, Verizon tower, approximately 1.672?gb file. install and app optimization about 55 minutes. Bluetooth music stutters about 10 seconds on connect with various paired devices, I've seen about 5% increase in battery life, (normal work day, 5am off charger, 4:30pm punch out 48%, today 53%) You can now "disable" LG Health app in Settings/application manager, yay!! No comment on "Home", I use Apex Launcher Pro. no connectivity issues, I use Adguard Pro, for wifi calling, this must be disabled prior to making a wifi call, re enable Adguard when wifi calling session is finished, advanced calling HD voice and video. video looks "smoother" bluetooth and usb audio is cleaner, Woo Audio Fireflies for external dac/headphone amp. So far, so good!!

The update is downloading on my phone right now. I had to update to 15A first.
Edit: 7.0 update installed with no issues so far.

I can confirm is working,all you need is the chrome browser and download the plugin LGE-ActiveDP/0.9 and then add a New User-agent name (LGE) New User-Agent String (LGE-ActiveDP/0.9) Group (LGE) Append (Replace) Indicator Flag (LG)

Battery drain is faster with 7.0. Wi-Fi is better . . . no lag in FB and Play Store.

That is not Nougat update is 15A update

Android Security Patch is updated to June 1, 2017.

patch came through 6/29/2017.
update went smooth. Everything seems stable.

I googled the "System Enhancements" and there were no documented enhancements posted . . .

Hi all. This update from T-Mobile is causing serious MODEM problem to my S7 Edge G935T, I can't get any access to internet over LTE. Only Wi-Fi i can used, PICTURE message is problem. I call T-Mobile and they say Samsung didn't test the update so now a lot of S7 Edge user have to go best buy Samsung store for them to downgrade the software.

I have downgrade it my self, when 7 different security patch back, even to ANDROID 6.0 the problem still persist.
Normally used the U FIRMWARE with T-Mobile CP for better speeds. Now I'm running more test, I did standard T-Mobile update from software version 4BQB1, so far I'm updating my apps only on LTE, looks good now. Will see what happens in a few hours.

Just bought my S7E used and ran this latest OTA update... it sent me into boot loops that persisted through multiple master reset, cache clearing etc. even in safe mode. Used Odin to roll back to the C1 update and all is good. Will probably try to update again this weekend.

Has anyone else spotted anything new?

I have noticed that the backgrounds have changed wallpapers for the Always on Display.
Neat enhancement if you use this feature.
Has anyone else spotted anything new?

Boy do I feel stupid going through all the hassle to "softtware convert" it to a TA-1025 to get Oreo Beta a while back.
I bought into the rumors about not getting Oreo too hard.

Is this via an OTA? Have you done anything to the phone or is it just like you've taken it out of the box? I haven't received the update yet. Also what country are you in? I'm in Australia. Hopefully I get the update, even though nokia tech said I wouldnt out of the region

It's via OTA. I'm in Taiwan and I haven't done anything to my phone yet. I did read on other forum that some people haven't received yet, maybe it just need a few days to receive.

Yep I just checked and Android Oreo OTA is here! Woohooo

TA1000 got it too via OTA. Working fine, feels snappier. But the app to add more languages crashes (locale more pro) so I'm stuck with English for now which is not a big deal though.

Try to clean data for this app (locale more pro) in apps admin. The best is to make a hard reset after the phone have been updated to Oreo.

I think the official Android 8.0 ota update killed my recovery. There simply just is a broken robot saying "no command" where the recovery used to be. GD Nokia bs phone.

Hit power button and volume up button together, just hit, donot hold it
U will find the recovery mode

Btw, after Oreo update you have problem with notifications? Gmail, Yahoo Mail, Whatsapp give me notification only after I open them.

Needs to be located on root area not in download folder.

Updated to Android 10 through normal OTA in Spain. Data preserved, without any problem. Everything works fine. (model XT2019-1, RETEU)

Hi,
I have an issue related the adaptive brightness: it's activated but the brightness not changing (at the moment it remains at 82%). If I modify manually it remains at that value.
I have already:
- disabled/enabled it
- rebooted the smartphone
- reset the smartphone
but the issue persists.
Any idea?

Don't know what motorola are playing at used to be spot on few years back

I have just updated by using the motorola rescue assist, once it downloaded the firmware it already gave me the latest version, its super nice but i have a question, i feel like the battery is draining a little faster than before, is it normal? Any workaround ?
