Hi I have a Galaxy s8plus and its model number is SM-G955w, but I had to flash stock firmware on it and I flashed an American sprint build number and now the phone in the settings reads model number; SM-G055U, I want to root it but don't know how to flash the proper stock Canadian firmware in download mode it reads like this:
CARRIER : XAC
RPMB Fuse Blown
RPMB PROVISIONED
CURRENT BINARY: Samsung OFFICIAL
SYSTEM STATUS: Official
FRP LOCK: Off
WARRANTY VOID: 0x0
QUALQUAM SECUREBOOT: ENABLED
RP SWREV: B5(2,1,1,1,1) K4 S5
SECURE DOWNLOAD : ENABLED
DID : 205E8E6C8F19
can anyone help me figure out where to get the proper stock firmware for this device and how can I flash a root and twrp recovery?
please and thank you

Do a Google search to find the 3 letter code for your region/carrier. Search for:
"Region code for Canada (enter your carrier name here)"
That should find your code.
Then go to Sammobile .com or samsung-updates .com, use the search feature there to enter your model number, this should find a list of firmware for your model number. Then find the newest firmware that matches your 3 letter code for your region/carrier. Download and flash that firmware using Odin.

Need help!!!!!!
Android version - 4.3
Baseband Version - I9500DDUEMK9
Kernal Version - 3.4.5-2092849
Build Number - JSS15J.I9500XXUEMK9
Good Morning,
After I forgot my security code I went a did a hard reset only to find that my phone wasn't passing the boot logo.
I went ahead and tried to use ODIN but after many attempts all have failed, after reading up I realised am in fact on firmware 4.3 and cannot downgrade to firmware 4.11 thats on sammobile site. Is there anyway I can get firmware 4.3 and still use ODIN to flash?
Also tried updating from SD Card but failed.
Also, when I am in Download mode this is what I am seeing:
ODIN MODE
Product Name: SGH-i747
Custom Binary Download: Yes (1 counts)
Current Binary: Custom
System Status: Custom
Qualcomm Secureboot: Enable
Warranty Bit: 1
Bootloader AP Swerv: 2
What does all this mean?
Hi,
I tried downloading a custom Rom but I cant use ODIN to install it, I have to send it to my SD Card and try to install it there.
Can you tell me how to install the Custom Rom using ODIN ?
I have this Custom ROM I747UCUEMJ2.7z

You will need to flash the OC3 or OE2 firmware if you want to be able to root. If you do not care about root flash OF1 or higher. You will have to stay with Verizon firmware because the 920v you have is from Verizon. Even though Knox is tripped you still have to stick with their firmware because it's the only one that will flash thanks to the locked bootloader. There is no way for us to bypass that. The firmware files I have are here. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=60427963&postcount=2
thanks a lot
but the problem is that ODIN fails when I want to flash 920v firmwares
I tried OG9 and OG7 but it fails
the only ROM that ODIN flashed was G920R4TYU3BOJ3
I download OC3 and try again
If I want to use a custom ROM, which one works with 920v or 920R4?
arther kernel and unikernel don't support these versions
what's the diference between Stock OE2 Tar and OE2 Retail Firmware?
is there anyway to flash rom without ODIN?
thanks a lot

If you flashed any firmware higher than OC3 you will not b able to downgrade it with the 920V. If you are able to flash the OC3 stock tar with Odin then you can root it with pingpong root and use flashfire to flash ROMs from here. The firmware files only have the modem, bootloaders and stock recovery. You will need to download the stock tar that has the system folder as well. The stock tar has everything that comes with the phone out of the box new. For the 920V Odin is used for the tar and firmware files and flashfire is for the ROMs.
Odin can't flash any firmware except G920R4TYU3BOJ3
I think my phone is 920R4 and I don't know how 920v was installed on it
in my download mode:
product name: SM-G920R4
knox warranty void: 0 (0x0000)
now what can I do?
anyway that my phone works again
can I use CF-root to install custom ROM?
i'm disappointed
I only can flash 920r4 and it's not working
even I can't install custom Rom
is there any Rom that can be installed using twrp recovery?
I'm soft bricked and can't access my phone to iinstall using flashfire

This is my first switch from htc to a samsung device.
I have been with HTC for years and gotten used to the procedures on rooting and unlocking bootloarder before flashing recoveries and custom roms.
I newly got the galaxy s3 with the intention to root and flash on custom roms as I heard all samsung phones by default have their boot loader unlocked.
with my search to root my new s3 I discovered of the many variants and how verizon variant having 4.3 and 4.4 can't be bootloarder unlocked and as such limited to custom roms to flash.
Here's the confusion:
Going through settings and about, it states I have - GT-I9300, ANDROID 4.3, Baseband Version : I9300ZCUBMLI
And the boot loader information:
ODIN MODE
Product Name: SCH-1535
Custom Binary Download: Yes (1 counts)
current binary: custom
system status: none
Qualcomm secureboot: enable
warranty bit:1
bootloader RP swerv: 1
So, from the setting information one could conclude its the international version but when I rooted the phone with towel root (successful) , I tried flashing the latest twrp both variants , I got an error from the recovery. i was able to restore back my stock recovery from the backup.
WHAT CAN I DO?
CAN I DOWNGRADE TO 4.1.2?
WHICH OF THE S3 VARIANTS IS THIS ?
Thanks to every replies in advance

You have a VZW S3. It's the Verizon variant. Not all Samsung devices have unlocked bootloaders. With Verizon they do almost whatever they can to lock it down.
If you took the NC1 update you would of been on a locked bootloader. But you still may be on a locked bootloader. I'm truly not sure. Check out this thread for more information

thanks for your reply
I've been reading several thread on this for hope . I dont wish to upgrade to 4.4 2, that will mean total lock up .
Then I found this link, it talks about a downgrade of 4.3 to 4.1.2

Your phone is giving conflicting information, I have no idea what you have.
If it's possible, take the battery out and take a picture of the sticker and post it.
Verizon phone also has a Verizon marking on the back of it. An sch-1535 is not a Verizon phone. An SCH-I535 is. It's possible you have a Chinese knockoff device. In which case you may need different firmware to fix your device. Flashing wrong firmware could break your phone completely.
