Does anyone have a solution to the slow WiFi on mtcd units?
I'm running on malaysk ROM and TomTom needs to update maps on WiFi. Last time it took about 6 hours ! To download 5.7 GB trough WiFi. In comparison to my phone on the same spot, it took only 20 minutes.
The WiFi antenna is placed behind the headunit, so literally IN the dashboard, maybe that is causing the extremely low speed? I don't see a way to move the antenna really.
I would consider using an usb dongle just for downloading maps in the future of that would fix the issue ? Does anyone know of that will help?

I had the same issue. I just download updates on my computer. I even tried hotspot off my phone. My headunit has always been this way since new.

How can you download the maps in your PC with TomTom mobile go ?

They have programs for map updates. I don't know if tomtom offers it or not. Mine update through naviextra, I believe it is called. It use igo for the GPS software. You can often find them online too and if you license is valid you just copy the new maps over and they should work. Just do a backup first.

I've got a strange problem with my device.
Im using the program Connectify in my student housing to host wifi for my note and my htc one x.
My htc just works perfect with it but my note loses connection after ~2 minutes. It is still connected to wifi but i cant access the internet. Sometimes i can only watch youtube vids (LOL?) and nothing else.
When im using wifi at home or at university, theres no problem at all.
Okay, easy you think, its Connectifys fault. But why my smartphone hasnt got this problem?? Its working perfect...
Do you think my notes wifi adapter is bugged? Should i return it??

Is anyone having an issue since going to the Nexus 5 that FIFA 14 can not ever connect to Origin - wifi, LTE, 3G, whatever? I'm on a clean install, but I previously tried copying over all of the app and data files from my SGS2, where it works fine, but no change in result.
Any idea what's going on? The usual DNS fix doesn't work.

Doesn't work either on a Sony Xperia Z running 4.4. I guess Kitkat is the culprit here.

Yes, the DNS fix doesn't work on KitKat. I had to downgrade my Nexus 7 to JellyBean 4.3 so I can enjoy my game.
Actually now its fixed. I really cant explain why, cause no update was reseased for the app and neither for the operative system itself, but now i can connect to Origin with both wifi and mobile data!

True. The latest Kitkat update may have fixed the problem. However, the display is now larger during a match that I can no longer see most of the pitch on my Nexus 7 like I used to on Jelly Bean.
Would it be possible to add a Bluetooth USB dongle to these headunits to enhance bluetooth quality and functionality? I know on my android box I was able to add a bluetooth dongle to enable bluetooth keyboards and wondering if it would be possible to do this with headunit since the bluetooth chips do not seem to be very good and have bad bluetooth streaming quality?

I have just tried it and can't seem to get it recognized by the unit.
In the Factory Settings, i changed Bluetooth to NO because if not it will just pick up the internal Bluetooth chip. Once i do this i have no options for Bluetooth in the settings. I'm not sure if there is a way around this.

Comfast wu725b is said to work with these units and will override the built in module. Just search for it on Ali or eBay. Or search for wifi bt dongle and look for it. My phone wont let me copy the link at the moment for some reason

I found a way to use the OEM Bluetooth handsfree kit in my Vw CC instead the of my GS Unit (PB96MTVAPL). Nows the call quality much better.

Comfast wu725b search it on aliexpress. I Wait it in a few days. Some user that try it changed the factory settings of the BT in md725. Bye

I still have not try it because i still wait it from china. I saw in this forum 2 or 3 users that use this dongle without problem. In the comments of the shop wher i've bought the dongle there is an user that confirm that the item work very well.

I can confirm that the Comfast wu725b -dongle works as replacement BT. My HU has the SD-968 module that does work like once in every 5th cold-boot. Bought the Comfast one and changed BT to MD725 and now all works great!
What about the Wi-Fi, does that work?

Installing comfast dongle can you pair with other devices (not only phones, OBD)?
It's working no matter what BT setting I choose (as far as I can remember), so I'd guess it's still using the internal one.

After the update I am really enjoying the phone, so much better battery life, better/smoother performance, and navigation bar is better because it is more compact when using smaller display size.
Also enjoying all 8.1 goodies like dark theme, gestures, etc

I've updated my N7+ (TA-1046) to 8.1 today. Everything is fine so far, except the smart lock settings are gone (only blank screen).
Anyone else got the same?

sRGB working here, did a factory reset after the 8.1 update though.

Did you enable sRGB before you updated or not?
When switching it on and off do you see a big difference in screen color like you should?

The fix for smart unlock is very easy.
Just set the security to none or swipe.
This reset it.
Then back to pin and smart unlock is back again.

I have a really annoying issue while using my running app Endomondo. If i start running, i normally gets every kilometer an anouncment of the time per km and in total. Since I use my Mix 3 the announcment are pretty inaccurate! For example yesterday I run 8km, the app told me at the end it was just ~6km...don't know what is wrong. Any idea to solve the problem!?

How accurate is it when you review the run on the map? Is it tracking the actual path or is it hopping all over and cutting corners?

He is cutting corners, and when the GPS comesback the line is more a bee line....it seems that the mix 3 is lossing the signal!

Yes GPS issues for sure on this phone. Annoying especially for a phone that is supposed to have good GPS.

Install the app to the system if rooted, had a similar issues on the mi5 with endomondo a long time ago

Phone is not rooted. Tryed Endomondo for a run a few minutes ago, and what should I say, all was good with the tracking, same distance like my Galaxy S7 edge. I have changed battery savings restrictions to no restrictions and I have updated this evening to global 10.2.1.0 so don't know if the solution is because of the change in the battery settings or because of the update to the latest Miui!
