Would it be possible to add a Bluetooth USB dongle to these headunits to enhance bluetooth quality and functionality? I know on my android box I was able to add a bluetooth dongle to enable bluetooth keyboards and wondering if it would be possible to do this with headunit since the bluetooth chips do not seem to be very good and have bad bluetooth streaming quality?
Try it and let us know!
I have just tried it and can't seem to get it recognized by the unit.
In the Factory Settings, i changed Bluetooth to NO because if not it will just pick up the internal Bluetooth chip. Once i do this i have no options for Bluetooth in the settings. I'm not sure if there is a way around this.
Do you solve?

I bought a WiFi+Bluetooth USB dongle because the embedded chip stop working, it works. The quality is also better than before, 10$ on Amazon.it
Better during calling?

Comfast wu725b is said to work with these units and will override the built in module. Just search for it on Ali or eBay. Or search for wifi bt dongle and look for it. My phone wont let me copy the link at the moment for some reason

Thank you. Does it overwrite the wifi module too?
I found a way to use the OEM Bluetooth handsfree kit in my Vw CC instead the of my GS Unit (PB96MTVAPL). Nows the call quality much better.

I can confirm that the Comfast wu725b -dongle works as replacement BT. My HU has the SD-968 module that does work like once in every 5th cold-boot. Bought the Comfast one and changed BT to MD725 and now all works great!
What about the Wi-Fi, does that work?

Installing comfast dongle can you pair with other devices (not only phones, OBD)?
It's working no matter what BT setting I choose (as far as I can remember), so I'd guess it's still using the internal one.

Hi everyone.i am on the verge of buying the note 8 Model: GT-N5110ZWYXAR the version without the sim support cause i couldnt find it in any us store i searched , and because my cousin is bringing it to me, i settled for the wifi only version found at about 285euros at bestbuy.
i am wondering if a usb 3g dongle might work when plugged via OTG cable, something like Huawei E1750 3G USB Modem.
i want an 8 inch tablet with 3g support and this is the best solution i could come up.will it work?i really dont want to go to the other option of a wifi dongle cause they are pretty expensive.
any help would be much appreciated.
ps:if anyone knows where i can purchase the cellural version of note 8 (just the device not with us data plans cause i live in Greece) plz let me know.

Some newer phones (maybe becasue of Nougat?) a feature where the lock screen does not come up if you are hooked to specific blue tooth devices, or on specific WiFi points.
Does the Mate 9 have that capability?
For Bluetooth devices, I believe it works out of the box. For wifi, someone posted a tutorial here how to make it work.
Sent from my MHA-L29 using Tapatalk
For Bluetooth it works. Using a mi band to bypass the lock screen. Just use unlock with trusted Bluetooth device.
I don't know what mi band is.
So only blue tooth, not by wifi or location? I don't hook to BT in the house. Makes little sense to not offer the feature for when a person is home. I would presume most don't hook to BT at home, at least not all the time.

Hello, I recently lost the charger for my honor 8 europe frd-l09 and I wanted to buy the exact same model, the one that comes with the official box, in order to keep warranty active.
What's the code? Was that a quick or fast charger and what's the difference between quick and fast?
If I don't find the same charger and buy another compatible one, will I lose my phone warranty? (Europe)
Thanks.
Sorry, I didn't get you. Can you please say you lost your charger or the phone?

I see now. That was something that you forgot to write up there ?
I don't think there is any difference between quick and fast charging.
Our honor 8 got quick charging also the official charger we get is called quick charger which got output of 2A, so you should get a charger which output of 2A with quick charging. It will be great if you get one from official huawei charger. Huawei got 2 official chargers, they both got the same look, thats why you should be sure to check if it has written "Quick Charge" on it's body. You can get it from Amazon, AliExpress or even your local accessories store.
In case if you don't fine the official one then you can get a third party charger with output of 2A with quick charge(as I already said). You will never loose your warranty if you use it. BUT if you use any third party charger with higher output and anything goes wrong with your phone then Huawei will not be responsible for it.......

But what if my screen breaks, I send the phone back to amazon/honor/huawei and they see I don't have the oem charger anymore? Do I lose the phone warranty for a lost accessory?
And also, do you know the exact number code of the official charger for honor 8 europe? I think it's the same as the huawei p9 one but I'm not totally sure.

If you break the screen that means you are definitely loosing your warranty, hey won't fix your phone unless you pay them. And if anything goes wrong wrong probably Huawei will not know that you don't have your charger so you don't need to worry about that.
Talking about the model number I really have no idea about Europe but I believe my friend @Rommco05 can help you with it.

Phone warranty is not linked with accessories. If phone breaks, just sent phone.
Quick Charge 3.0 although not compatible offers pretty much the same charge speed to Honor 8, as the OEM charger.

You can get it for cheap on aliexpress like this one or from any other seller, just search Original "Huawei fast charger"
I've got a spare one from there for my H8, i'm happy with it, look very much like a genuine and work well with fast charge as expected.
If it's just for the warranty matters, you don't have to return the charger to the service center if you phone got a problem.
Hi all,
I've been searching for answers to this issue to no avail so far!
The Bluetooth works flawlessly when it works but after the unit has been off for a few hours and comes back out of sleep or even after a full shutdown, the Bluetooth stops working and looses both its name and passcode
Sometimes takes up to 3 full reboots to get it back
It's got an sd-968 in a px3 unit running Malaysk ROM also with the most recent MCU
It did the same on stock ROM too
Thanks!

Ahh that would make sense! Strange I thought this would conflict with the on-board bluetooth
AFAIK there is no USB bluetooth module that works with our units...if technical support is going to send you a replacement it will be a full coreboard replacement.

The same situation with my PX5 Dasaita - very rare, but some times bluetooth looses name and password. Can t find what is the cause...
Regards
I have a KBT unit and the same has been happening to me too. Initially the name was "EONON" (the reseller) and passcode something starting with 5. For no apparent reason the name would change to "CAR-KIT" and passcose 1234. The same happened after I upgraded the SoC from a PX3 to a PX5, updating the MCU and firmware (multiple times for reasons unleated to this). After the upgrade it would go back to "EONON" and at some point it would change to "CAR-KIT" again.

Hello, i have the same problem with the same bt chip.
SD-968 on Eonon navigation. Last summer it was working ok if i remember correctly when i was on stock rom, but then i changed to malasyk and hal9k, and i have problems.
I checked the factory settings and i have SD-968 option on BT. I even dissasembled the navigation to physically check if i have SD-968 and its there!
If i put the navi to autosleep, almost never wakes up with BT available. Always no name and no password with no luck of writing them back. The only solution is to reset the navi once, maybe twice.
I tried to put it on auto off after 30mins, so it will do a full bootup, and maybe 5 times out of 10, it works.
Maybe is has something to do with the cold? i tried the navi on my table in the house and it was a perfect 10/10 at bootup.
Hi all,
So has anybody found a solution for the MD725 Type 2 issue? it seems the driver for the Type 2 is never going to get released or updated to support android 8, So has anybody found another solution? The HU comes with multiple options for bluetooth Drivers outside the MD725, Does any know of a USB dongle working with another supported chipset for bluetooth and Wifi? Any help would be greatful, Also I have ordered the Type 1 from forum but I have a feeling this is not going to work as I contacted the supplier and they dont know if its a type 1 or 2 chip but its advertised as working for the PX5 OREO :crying:
very curious myself as well. have a PX5 with Type 2 and was looking into updating too Oero before reading that I'd loose Bluethooth...
