Help, i tried the same thing downgrading to nougat from oreo (actually from pie pyxis), but I did direct using Hu Ru, and now I can't boot to eRecovery to do a factory reset, only the TWRP 3.2 elite boot and there I can't do Factory Reset (Format Data to dencrypt data), even the dload doesn't work, I tried flashing Boot, Recovery, System from fastboot (I have bootloader unlocked) and didn't work...
I tried all TWRP 3.1 and didn't boot, It reboot just starting recovery
What else can I do?

Did you mean over TWRP or fastboot? I tried at TWRP wiping all except Data, but It stuck when I press Vol -
I think it is for the Data encryption, I can't remove it with that TWRP version and I can't use another version
Edit: I tried formating data via fastboot but I always get FAILED (remote: Command not allowed) with "fastboot format" and "fastboot erase"
HuRu stuck (after pressing VOL DOWN it keep loading forever):

@Jugabrat first why you want to downgrade and second have you flashed downgrade package as it is different from other normal builds?

Try this. In TWRP go to wipe and then advance wipe and then individually select each partition and then Repair File System for each one one at a time. Then try to format data

It's worst now... I tried flashing a normal full stock firmware with HWOTA via SD, it looked like it flashed all files on log, but didn't work, can't booted and it locked the bootloader, it still can't boot on eRecovery.
So I unlocked bootloader to flash TWRP, but then it boot like trying to factory reset but stuck on first screen, and now I can't even boot on fastboot... So, no recovery, no fastboot, and no dload mode... It died?

It's toast. Your best bet is to take it to a service center and pretend it happened like that after a update or try ant other. Best case scenario they will flash the software through Test Points and you'll be good to go. Worst case scenario you'll have to replace the mother board an it's like 40% of the phone cost

But what about mine ? I'm again on Oreo by hu ru updater...But i want to downgrade...so what alternative methods can i do to go back to nougat

Don't go back to Nougat. You'll brick your phone. But if you want to use HWOTA 8. And the Nougat files. Good Luck.
Another method is to see if roll back firmware is available for your device. Huawei usually release those. Try searching in Firmware Finder or try HiSuite to rollback

Yes , rollback files are available for my device but they are not verified to install..
If i use hw ota , should i flash a full firmware or the rollback package?

With HWOTA always do the full firmware. What do you mean not verified? If Firmware Finder says that it's OK to install them. But yeah go with HWOTA 8 and Full OTA of Android 7

BLN-L21 isnt booting

my honor 6x isn't booting normally. i get in the eRecovery menu every time I boot.
Bootloader is unlocked
Twrp installed
I search for 2 hours now but I can't find the stock firmware of the honor 6x
I think if you use the options in the eRecovery, you should be able to restore it to factory settings. But, I have not used this function, so I could be wrong.
However, even with twrp installed I am unable to use a buttom combination to boot into it. The only method that works for me is rebooting into it with a reboot app (root) or via adb reboot.
When I use the volume up + power button combi it boots into the eRecovery instead of twrp.

There are no custom roms yet. When you get the unlocked warning, just press the power button again, as it should state in the message. Then it should boot normally, i think/hope.

Dealing with similar issue with my L24 I had everything working great. Debloating the rom and edited build.prop.. but then I got update to su binary and rebooted. Then edited build.prop again and that was the end of her haha.
Now, in TWRP, it will not mount anything. Get error 8 and error 1? Tried the format data option under wipe, can't mount. Tried wiping data, can't mount. Tried cat /etc/fstab and data was different than other partitions. dev/block/dm-0 while all others were something like mmblk041... Any ideas?
Maybe the rm -rf option? I've ran out of things to google haha.

[Recovery]TWRP 3.1.1-0 LG G5 H840

DO NOT FORMAT YOUR MICRO SDCARD INSIDE TWRP RECOWERY
WARNING: If you want tho use /data and internal sdcard first have to format data in stock recovery This will wipe your internal storage, and factory reset your phone!
encryption is not supported yet
To flash this img to your phone use fastboot
Code:
fastboot flash recovery twrp-x.x.x-x-h840.img
+new test build with encryption support
source code https://github.com/synescu/twrp_lg_h840
1.Unlocking the bootloader.
1.1Get the latest drivers: ( http://tool.lime.gdms.lge.com/dn/downloader.dev?fileKey=UW00120120425 )
1.2Get ADB fastboot. If you hate installing huge files for just a few commands, you have 3 options:
-MINIMAL ADB and fastboot: (https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2317790 )
-15 seconds ADB Installer v1.4.3: (https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2588979 )
-SDK Platform-Tools coming directly from google: (https://developer.android.com/studio/releases/platform-tools.html )
I personally went with the “15 seconds ADB Installer v1.4.3”, because it installs also a Google driver, which might, or might have not helped out in the process to follow.
1.3Follow the instructions at the official LG unlocking page ( https://developer.lge.com/resource/mobile/RetrieveBootloader.dev ), just keep in mind that after step 1.2 you have adb ready to go @ your main drive C:\adb. You go to that folder shift + right click and open a command prompt at that location, the rest is trivial.
2.Updating to the latest official stock android.
2.1Get the latest kdz from: (https://lg-firmwares.com/lg-h840-firmwares/ ). As far as I know you can go for any of those firmwares, but it is advisable to use one from your region (Europe, South America, Middle East). As mentioned above my LG G5 H840 is the newest European model, totally unbranded. So I took the 20c for Spain. This is as high as you can get at present moment.
2.2 Flash with LGUP 1.14 and UPPERCUT 1.0.0, both available at: (http://downloads.codefi.re/autoprime/LG/LG_G5 )
2.3 Reboot and do a quick setup. I recommend to have your sim card, SD card out at this moment, do not connect to wireless networks, all of this you will have plenty of time to do later, besides whatever you set at this point will be lost in the next step.
3.Get TWRP and root
3.1TWRP. As a courtesy of synescu, we have 2 versions: a regular one and such with encryption support. It took me long to realize that only the one with encryption would work on a latest H840 installed with v20c. So I guess if you have an old phone and possibly firmware 10a/b/c/d, than you can try “twrp3.1.1-0-h840.img”, otherwise go straight to “twrp_encryption-h840.img”. If you use the one without encryption support you will find no way to root the phone, because it can not see the SD card, or any USB flash attached and also if you connect the phone to a PC with MTP mode, or any other mode you won’t be able to browse both (internal and external) memories on that phone.
3.1.1Put on a SD card following files: 1) latest stable SuperSU 2.79 2) no-verity-opt-encrypt.zip from here (https://build.nethunter.com/android-tools/no-verity-opt-encrypt/no-verity-opt-encrypt-5.1.zip ) and just in case although not mandatory “twrp_encryption-h840.img”.
3.1.2Put in the C:\adb folder the “twrp_encryption-h840.img” and the stock recovery from here (https://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=4149809&d=1494791791 ). The stock recovery is necessary in case you make a mistake and have to do a factory reset.
3.1.3Turn off the phone.
3.1.4Boot into stock recovery (holding volume down + power, at LG logo releasing power shortly and than pushing power again).
As a side note here, after I unlocked the bootloader I’ve got that annoying message on start-up that the phone is untrusted. With G4 H815 it was a small message in the upper corner, this time around it is a huge message in the middle of the screen. LG, for the love of god! After all the playing, I have now also a message screen, which I call “Options Menu”, it shows right after the nagging untrusted message. Although esthetically ugly, I have an easy way to go to recovery and fastboot in each and every regular power on, or restart. As said the Options Menu is showing up for 5 sec after the untrusted nagger. If you click the volume up, or down you get to the options (Power off, Restart, Recovery, Fastboot ), otherwise after 5 sec the phone would boot normally. I don’t know if this is the expected behavior of the phone, or did I trigger it somehow, but now I don’t have to use the combo buttons for anything.
Back from the side note. The new stock recovery is a white screen with 2 options for No and Yes. Go for YES and than YES again, after both YES the phone will be factory reset and will reboot. Do not allow it to boot though, because the userdata will be encrypted at this point and you will have to repeat the reset again. Use the combo buttons for recovery, which will bring you to the “Options Menu”, or Volume up and plug in the phone into the PC. Yet again there is hardly any time so maybe plugin in won’t be fast enough, so just keep pressed the combo buttons, also change with volume up and power, or remove the battery and start again. In any event do not let it boot until it brings you to the “Options Menu”
3.1.5In the Options Menu pick fastboot and plug the phone to the PC
3.1.6Open command prompt in adb and flash TWRP ( fastboot flash recovery twrp_encryption-h840.img ) you might be ok also to do factory reset from adb with this command (fastboot –w ), but unfortunately I forgot already if I did it, when it finally worked for me
3.1.7Disconnect from the PC and pull the battery out, or just keep the buttons combo pressed. It is possible that you see the old stock recovery (white screen YES/NO), which might have stayed somehow in memory. Do not perform further resets, just keep pressing the button combo and it will reboot eventually to the Options Menu.
3.1.8There you go 3 times volume down and power to pick recovery. Follows a reboot of the bootloader, nagging screens, but eventually it loads TWRP.
3.2Root.
3.2.1For some reason even after the factory reset, the data partition keeps an encrypted flag. So you can not write to it. Stock recovery should have reset it to non-encrypted, but it does not do it correctly, I guess. Therefore you go to Wipe, pick only the Data check box and go to change format in the bottom. Change the format to FAT and than back to EXT4
3.2.2Go to the SD card and flash no-verity-opt-encrypt.zip and SuperSu. Yes I know, that SuperSu is supposed to install also no-verity, but I like to flash both just in case.
3.2.3Do NOT wipe anything in TWRP at this point. Reboot only!!!!! Once the phone has booted in v20c you can go back to TWRP, Wipe and make all the backups you like
Thanks to @svetloslav for this complex post
Thanks a lot.
Can't wait to flash!!
YESS finally we have root on the SE thank you very much man

Why would you think that you would keep TWRP after flashing stock recovery? Also, why would you flash stock recovery after flashing TWRP and SuperSU? You either have TWRP or stock recovery, not both. Also, don't ever recommend flashing stock recovery after modifying system in any way unless you reflash whole stock system as stock. Anyways, all you need to do to get TWRP back is use the :
fastboot flash recovery TWRP.img

Honor 8 bricked Tried everything

So I was trying to flash this roll back package to MM on my honor 8 FRD-L19

The dload isn't happening, I'm not sure what went wrong. I can't access dload , only fastboot and rescue mode and then can't flash anything. Shows an error Failed ( remote command not allowed)
How much is the rollback package if it was about 77 mb ,
It locks the phone, you have to flash the another firmware (offical one).
Dload to it .
Make sure ur phone is power off and do 3 button trick. Not worked then follow below
If there is no charge then make sure your phone is power odf and hold the both volumes and connect the usb cable to pc and it will update.

FRD-L09 bootloop after downgrade to B131
Hey folks!
I have similar problem with my FRD-L09. I succesfully downgraded to MM via the 73mb rollback package and the B131 ROM. The phone worked prerfectly. After that I plugged the phone to the charger. When i wanted to grab it noticed the phone keeps restarting and stucked in bootloop. I cant even turn it off
I tryed to get in the recovery menu with the volume up+pwr button combo, but it doesnt work, the phone restarts and shows the boot logo again. If i try to restart and go into the update menu with the 3 buttons method the screen goes black, after a several minutes the phone reboots...
Do you have any idea how can i fix my phone?
Thanks in advance,
Mark

Yep, i tried that. I cant get into the recovery. As i wrote, it didnt work because of the phone rings and restarts itself.
Quick question: where can I get the official Honor 8 FRD-L04 firmware (USA version)? I have a phone I'm trying to put stock MM firmware on, I'm able to get into fastboot mode. I just want the firmware that is suitable for that phone version. I need a flashing method that will give me zero errors, as in if I flash something like "SYSTEM.img" I won't get uploading errors.
Status:
Bootloader: locked
FRP: unlocked

Ok, but I need a guide that actually works. I have the official firmware, I just need to flash it with no problems. I've tried many tutorials from youtube but none of them have worked. The "Vol - Vol + Power" button method doesn't work for me. I have also tried Huawei Multi-tool and all I get by using the unbrick function is "FAILED(partition error, or sparse write failure). I can go into erecovery mode, but everytime I try to restore it says "getting package info failed".

One last question: after the stock 7.0 installation, I wanted to install the B385 update of EMUI 5.0, I tried the automatic method but the message I get is "Failed to check update package". Is there a solution towards this that can enable this update to install?

OnePlus 6 in bootloop / hardbrick

Hello,
My OnePlus is stuck in a bootloop. I can turn it off but if I turn it on, it displays the first screen with the logo "+1" then the second screen with the circles that turn and there they freeze. The circles do not move any more then it restarts and it starts again until the battery runs out.
I tried this awesome tuto called "How to unroot OnePlus 6 in bootloop / hard-brick" but i'm stuck in thé step 5. The phone restarts, I first screen "1+" then the screen with the H2OS logo and then it remains frozen on the logo and the phone restarts and so on. I have tried to retake everything from step 1 but I am still stuck in step 5.
Do you have any idea ?
Thanks,
Don't know that tutorial, but i think it's only a softbrick, have you tried to format data from recovery? Stock one or TWRP doesn't matter, and what you was doing before the phone goes bricked?

Try the MSM unbrick tool, i don't think you can unlock the bootloader in this state since you didn't enable it in the dev options

With the phone turned off. Hold the volume down button and then push the power button for 10-15 seconds and see if phone reboots to recovery or fastboot. If you can get the phone boot to fastboot, follow the simple guide at the link below. Be patient and follow the steps. This process will erase all the data but you said you already have a copy of the back up data. Download on your PC/laptop the correct version, most current stable OS is 9.0.9. Download will be in the zip format. Unzip the file. While phone in the fastboot mode, connect to your PC. In the unzipped folder, click on FlashAll.bat file and wait. You may get some failure messages, just igore them. Eventually the phone will reboot as a brand new phone. Here is the link:

a bit of context and history of the things I did:
This is an Honor 8 FRD-AL00 from China, in 2017 I unlocked the bootloader, I rebrand the phone into its Europe version FRD-AL09, then I updated to Emu5, then in my first vacation on Europe (I am from Argentina), the phone ask me for an update. As I knew that I used an Europe ROM, full rebrand, I did not saw nothing nothing wrong with that (if I wanted an update on Argentina, I have to forced with the hisuite), so I accept the official update there.
Results: the phone was bricked.
I buy a new phone there, I kinda forget over some years, now I want to fix it, but seem that it is quite hard, I dont think this is a soft brick.
First I had problems installing TWRP, the only way was using the Multi-Tool8 from @teammT flashing the TWRP 3.1.1 as Erecovery.
If i try to update the twrp to 3.4 from the same twrp or using fastboot, I cant.
I tried to flash a ROM from a similar year than my last correct update, fail using commands, fail using the tool, fail using an extra SD on dload, fail using TWRP.
I tried the same thing with the stock firmware for FRD-AL09 (the multi-tool8 always recognize the phone as FRD-AL09, but I have errors when is flasshing.
The only firmware that I can flash without errors, is one from C185 (mid east latin america), which is the most downloaded firmware in huawei, with emui8 and android 8, but I dont have the cust.img in that update, the bootloop continue.
I tried with a different latin versionbut the flash does not work.
I tried with a custom rom (lineage for honor8), the instalation process seem ok, until I receive the same errors at the end (it can not mount vendor, cust, etc).
I tried to format system, cust, or the partitions that I receive errors, changing first to fat or anyone else, then apply again ext4, but nothing happen, the error persist.
I even had a backup made with TWRP when the phone was working fine, I tried to restore that backup with TWRP and I receive error.
I tried to do all these test using a linux with fastboot (in case I was having issues with some drivers), but I receive the same errors.
Still not sure how to choose the right firmaware, I already tried with 10 already.... most fullota firmwares does not have all the files that I need to unbrick.
I already tried with android 6, 7 y 8, from c432, c185, and one more.
I tried by dload (update), by the 3 zips in twrp, by img from twrp or fastboot, or using the multi tool.
Today I will keep trying to update twrp from 3.1.1 to 3.4, (maybe that would help me to install android 8 roms?) Where I can find the extra cust.img?
I really need to repair this phone, I dont care if it is with an official or custom firmaware, I know that all this seem hard to solve, but I would appreciate at least a clue that would help me to save this phone.

Flash EMUI8 and immediately wipe system and extract and flash https://github.com/phhusson/treble_...v300.l/system-roar-arm64-aonly-vanilla.img.xz (this is the compressed form extract using 7zip)
so that you flash system-roar-arm64-aonly-vanilla.img. into system partition.

I think you can try the "Your device has been unlocked and can't be trusted" trick and from what i posted then clicking download latest firmware. But it would relock bootloader and put it into EMUI 8. Unlocking the bootloader is also easy anyways, once you get the bootloader code, you can write it down or put it in notepad to always have the bootloader unlock code.
The Honor 8 also has 2 recoveries, one from holding vol up from "Your device has been unlocked and can't be trusted" and also the normal recovery partition where you usually put twrp in (vol up + power button)
You can also use hurupdater to go from android 8 to android 7. The hurupdater method should work because it flashes all the partitions including "Cust.img".
If you dont want to use Hurupdater, then I think you should just do "Your device has been unlocked and can't be trusted" method because it downloads stock firmware including "Cust.img".
And also you dont have to flash "Cust.img". If you extract "Cust.img" you can manually the files on to /cust then It should maybe work.

Yes, there is also a app called "ZArchiver" in Play Store. It can extract "Update.app". But I dont think it can extract .img files. You may need a computer to extract the .img files.

.img is easy, if you get system.img then nice, but i cant extract the super.img where system.img is in it.
