Did you factory reset, wipe cache and dalvik when you flashed the ROM? If not, boot to recovery and factory reset, wipe cache and wipe dalvik cache then reboot.
If that doesn't work, try reflashing the ROM. You might need to post your issue in the thread where you got the ROM so that the developer can fix it.
If that doesn't work, try another ROM.
If that doesn't work, go back to stock.

[Q] If phone is unrooted, how do I clean the Dalvik Cache?

My phone is Samsung Galaxy Ace.
1. If a phone is running stock ROM and unrooted, how can I wipe the dalvik cache?
Does the 'wipe cache partition' in recovery refer to the Dalvik cache? Does it
clean the Dalvik cache?
2. Are there other caches in my phone that needs 'cleaning' or is Dalvik the only cache in there?
Thank you!
Well, I'm not sure, but I think that you need root access to can clean dalvik
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2
Why do you need to clear the cache? I think you need a custom recovery and maybe root also. I could be wrong.
Sent from my Serendipity 6.4 flashed Captivate using xda premium
Dalvik cache is in advanced menu, in recovery. Maybe you need root, dont know since i first rooted

There are basically 2 different caches that should be wiped when you are flashing between ROM's (or experiencing issues), the cache and the Dalvik cache. They are accessed from your recovery method (you need root) and depending which one you are using they are accessed differently, the 2 most famous (imo) are clockword and AmonRa. Now, if you are not rooted then the only way to clear your cache is by factory resetting your phone (which will erase everything). I know this clears your data and settings but not sure if it clears all the caches...
battery running out fastly

[Q] Stuck on HTC Logo after Flashing Rom (HTC Flyer)

HTC Flyer: Rooted with S-off, with Revolutionary CMW 4.0.1.4
At the first attempt, I flashed the SU.zip and got the tablet working. But then i decided to flash the Leedroid rom.
Within revolutionary, i wipe the data/cache/davche and then flash the new leedroid rom. There are no issues on flashing the rom and it was successful, however when i reboot.... it is stuck on the HTC logo screen. After 20-30 minutes, the tablet just shuts itself off.
Due to this, i decided the wipe again and install a different rom (CoolHoney3D) however same issue. Then i decided to go back to original SU.zip and that is not working now as it has the same issue.
I downloaded the recovery image for the HTC flyer and try to install it with Scottsrom. No LUCK
I believe i am missing a step in the whole process. please let me know what the problem is. I read all the tutorial to do the recovery but i am a noob and couldnt figure it out. sorry for my bad english..
Thanks!

Which option is full wipe?
I did 3 types of wipe (System/Cache/Dache Cache) then installed the roms again. It said the Rom installed correctly but still got stuck at the HTC screen. Like i said, i installed the original su.zip again and that doesnt work anymore
Another question, do I have to install su.zip first before installing the leedroid rom?
This is what I do when I flash a Rom

I will try that. Should I.....
1. Flash the SU.zip rom first
2. Flash the CoolHoney3D rom
3. Wipe Dalvik cache
4. Reboot
or skip the su.zip rom

Skip the "su.zip". So just flash the "CoolHoney3D" rom, wipe the dalvik cache, then reboot. You could format all partition before flashing the rom if you haven't already done so. In other words:
- Format partitions
- Flash the rom
- Wipe the dalvik cache
- Reboot

If you want the new rom to run without any issue wipe everything. I always do wipe cache, dalvik, data, system. Do it a few times, even reboot recovery between. I always do and never have any issue.
Sent from my HTC One S using xda app-developers app
I do factory reset then wipe system then flash rom and has work every time.
When changing type roms, Like sense to aosp . wipe evrything.
When flashing update or newer version of same ROM , you can dirty flash. Saves you setting up the whole device over again. Just wipe cache and dalvik.
Always check advice if wipe is needed.
Wiping the same things multiple times over is just for your own mindset. Once is normaly enough.

I wipe everything 3X. I don't like dirty flashing because if you encounter a bug you won't know if it's due to the rom or you dirty flashing.

Thank you for this!
I only wipe system and both cache partitions when flashing an updated version of a ROM. If I am flashing a completely different ROM, I wipe data as well. There is no point is wiping anything multiple times.
So just to make things clear here. It is safe to wipe everythinggggg? Also when backing up before rooting or flashing a new ROM where exactly does the back stores? I tried restoring it and i couldn't find its location :fingers-crossed:
