Tried about 20 times but no luck, factory reset, wipe delvic Cache, wipe battery history, fix permissions.
Anyone got any new idea to make this work?
You have to flash baseband. Tutorial is in developer section.

Trying to install 2.3.6 on my Telus I9020A and having problems. As soon as the phone loads, the phone process FCs and restarts in an infinite loop. Going back to 2.3.4 fixes the problem but is not a solution.
Has anyone encountered this/got it working ? i'm having a lot of difficulty with this.
Did you clear cache/dalvik cache/factory reset (data wipe) before flashing?

OK erasing data too worked. thanks!
You need to do that every time you flash a new rom. That's also why it's really nice to have root so you can make backups of everything
Swyped from my Nexus S
Hey everyone,
I'm a new-by to the tech world. I have a "google nexus s" running on ICS 4.0.4, I recently rooted my phone, flashed clockworkmod recovery and tried to install CM9 on my device. After the installation was completed through the clockworkmod, the boot image had showen up and continued to boot throughout the night and never showed up the home screen nor did the custom ROM open itself.
Can anyone give me a lil help as to about what this problem is or the reason why this is happening?
Any help would be really appreciated.
Thanx!
Did you do a full wipe and cache wipe? My suggestion is to do that and reinstall. You could also try a different ROM.
But wouldnt I loose my phone data if I do that?

i'm having the same problem for every ROM i try on my phone! what to do?
You have a bootloop, this appears because of kernel (boot.img) problems and/or inconsistent cache.
Please wipe/erase cache and Dalvik cache (this can be found in the Advanced menu). Wiping cache partition and Dalvik cache won't erase your personal data.
Make sure the previously flashed CM zip contained a boot.img file. If not, please flash a proper/recommended boot.img (kernel; which is in a zip file) or another rom (with boot.img).
When you flash a new rom over your stock.. first make a backup, then you need to wipe data, cache and dalvik cache..

so i updated cm10 to a newer version and i didn't wipe anything i just flashed the zip file and everything booted up fine but now im worried that something may go wrong in the future can anyone help??
Boot to recovery and wipe cache and dalvik. Reboot and you should be good.
If you start getting issues, consider reflashing will all the wipes.

If you want the new rom to run without any issue wipe everything. I always do wipe cache, dalvik, data, system. Do it a few times, even reboot recovery between. I always do and never have any issue.

I do factory reset then wipe system then flash rom and has work every time.
When changing type roms, Like sense to aosp . wipe evrything.
When flashing update or newer version of same ROM , you can dirty flash. Saves you setting up the whole device over again. Just wipe cache and dalvik.
Always check advice if wipe is needed.
Wiping the same things multiple times over is just for your own mindset. Once is normaly enough.

I wipe everything 3X. I don't like dirty flashing because if you encounter a bug you won't know if it's due to the rom or you dirty flashing.

Thank you for this!
I only wipe system and both cache partitions when flashing an updated version of a ROM. If I am flashing a completely different ROM, I wipe data as well. There is no point is wiping anything multiple times.
So just to make things clear here. It is safe to wipe everythinggggg? Also when backing up before rooting or flashing a new ROM where exactly does the back stores? I tried restoring it and i couldn't find its location :fingers-crossed:

Did you factory reset, wipe cache and dalvik when you flashed the ROM? If not, boot to recovery and factory reset, wipe cache and wipe dalvik cache then reboot.
If that doesn't work, try reflashing the ROM. You might need to post your issue in the thread where you got the ROM so that the developer can fix it.
If that doesn't work, try another ROM.
If that doesn't work, go back to stock.
