On my other phones I'm able to play videos thru Hulu just fine. But on the mate 9 it just shows a blank screen forever. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app still doesn't work. It will still let me stream videos to my Chromecast though
I've had exactly the same problems. I've written a comment to the developers through the play store. You should as well. More people that write more likely we get a fix
Hulu works just fine on my Chinese variant 6gb/128. Although I downloaded my hulu through the amazon store. Maybe uninstall the one from play store and try installing the version through the amazon underground app?
I tried downloading thru Amazon app still has the same problem. I'm going to try one more thing tomorrow downloading the app and side loading it. Hopefully that works

The app was just updated through the play store. It now works
Hello,
it seems that there is a problem with the Netflix app on MTCD units.
Android 5.1 Quad Core - apparently you can install and enter the app, but can't play any video materials.
Android 6.0.1 Octa Core - unable to install the app via Play Store (can't even see the Play Store entry for Netflix); sideloading the application from APKMirror.com gives the error that the app is not compatible with the device. Netflix then redirects to their own site which mentions downloading another apk straight from them - this one just bugs out 4-5 times before stopping completely.
This happens both in factory ROMs and the @Malaysk ROM.
My theory is that I would need to somehow make Netflix think that it is being installed on a smartphone, like a Samsung Galaxy or a Sony Xperia.
How can I go about posing the headunit as a phone? Is such a thing even possible?
I tried sideloading the Netflix app on my Pumpkin RQ0278E yesterday and it worked like a champ, it has Marshmallow btw.
..
How?
Brickbeats... Where did you side load it from? I can't get it to work on my pumpkin... Android 6.0.1
It's working fine for me on 6.0.1, I had to install the apk they point you to after you install the app from google play.
Same as NaviPR.. Hope someone can help..

I have a Uconnect Head unit in my 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee (It's actually the UAQ unit (2018 model)) and I have tried to play Netflix content to the head unit via Android Auto (Newest version in Play store) and AA Unlock and AA Mirror. I have used two devices which I describe below, but can not get video overlay to work. When I start Netflix on those two devices below, I see the menu, I can login, I see movie and tv selections, but when I start to play the movie, all I can see are the controls for the video. (volume, progression slider, etc.) but NOT the video itself. I can hear it. It shows fine on the two devices, but when linked via USB cable to Android Auto on the head unit. NO video. Amazon Prime video works fine, as does the DirecTV app, my plex app and others.
My two devices are:
A Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 7" (Sprint version) running Lineage OS 14.1, unlocked and rooted. I am running AA Unlock, AA Mirror and the current version on Android Auto from the play store.
A Samsung Galaxy S5 (Verizon UNLOCKED) with Lollipop (Android 5.0) and rooted. I am running AA Unlock, AA Mirror and the current version on Android Auto from the play store.
BOTH will not play Netflix videos when connected. I can see the movie playing on both screens of the devices, but not to the head unit. I have tried different versions of Netflix (both from the play store and from direct downloads of the .apk). Nothing seems to work.
Some say that the Custom ROM is the problem, some say that the devices being rooted is the problem, but neither works.
Ideas?
Great site....long time viewer, first time poster.

So not an MTCD unit, you have an Android Auto unit? If so, you might best be asking in Android Auto Forums.
Just go to APKMirror and download a version that is for Andriod 4.0+, not Android 5.0+ that's where they have all the errors with our devices which are somewhat rooted.
Informative

Pro version is not supported in Amazon devices due to the modification they have done on android account management system.
Just got the firmware from my tv box manufacturer a kingnovel X10 MAX S905X3 tv box on android 9, any way re-flashed it all went well now I try to use play store for previous purchases it shows buy them for all purchases, I did an update for google play services it hasn't updated the play store app and in apkpure I can see there is an update required for the google play store app it's self, but upon installing the play store app update it fails to install any idea what I can do as I need my paid ftp server app to setup a cloud.
Another thing I tried was a root uninstaller app removed the play store app and then tried to install an updated apk for google play store and even that fails to install it? I contacted the developer again asking if he can help but this may be a long while before replying if at all, but I was hoping you guys here knowing your stuff can help me force install it or get the purchases active again in play store for me thanks in advanace for any help here because I need it.
The Netflix version that came with the device does not work ("We could not contact the Netflix Service, please try again later (-2)")
What are my options to get HD Netflix on this device ?
I can get Netflix v7.58 APKS for Android 5.0+ that can run up to 960x540p. (as per this article) but this is not HD isn't it?
the answer here is Install Aptoid TV and get the Netflix from there
FY Netflix for what you did ..I was quite close to cancel the subscription because of their obstructionism ...they told me it is not possible to run Netflix on my device. I have it running just fine
MBOX T95 is not a certified device. That's why the problem with Google Play Store and Netflix.
