So I just got a Z5 and the issue I'm having is that it will seem to be working fine then it will all of a sudden turn itself off or restart and sometimes it will turn off and come up with the battery sign as if the battery is dead but the phone still has charge, it's becoming annoying as I can never tell how long I'm going to get before it does it and it makes me not want to make calls incase it happens during one, any advice or solutions would be great thanks

So I was hanging out on my phone one day and it started freezing, I had this ROM for about 2 months and my phone shut down as it always used to do. Problem I was never able to power it back on. I've been to different mobile services but no-one could help me. The only life sign my phone gives is when I plug it in the LED light shows as it was mid-charge like a yellow-green light. Other than that, no vibration ever, the computer never recognizes it and only makes sounds randomly when I plug it in. I was hoping it wasn't a hard brick since it happened long after I installed the ROM and it happened all of a sudden like that. Please share your knowledge with me if you have something I can know it would help so I can stop trying.
Hey all,
I have a very odd problem with my old P500 I am trying to get running again. Almost all the time the phone wont turn on. I have tried removing the battery and leaving it, plugging it in both with and without the battery, trying various different reset combos with and without power or battery in the phone, nothing will work. Usually. Then sometimes the phone just turns on. When it does work, its great. All until you turn it off again. As soon as you turn it off, its a guarantee it's not coming back on for a while again.
I cant seem to work out any rhyme or reason as to what will let it turn on either. I have had it turn on sometimes on a charger with no battery, sometimes charger and battery, and sometimes just on battery without a charger. Like I mentioned, when it works and will turn on everything works exactly as expected. I can't find anything software-wise that seems to indicate it wouldn't load. Just most of the time (upwards of 95% of the time or so?) it won't turn on at all. Hard reset combos etc have no effect on the phone, and it won't pull up on a computer in this state either. I bought another battery recently and tried that, as I had previously had a poor battery life from it, but that turned out to have no effect on the booting issue. The most recent time I was able to boot the phone I left it on and charging for a few hours and it finished completely charging the new battery, but on turning it off it wouldn't come on again as usual.
I am suspecting a hardware problem with the phone internally, although I am not really sure. Anyone else have any clue as to what I might try? If it is hardware-based, does anyone have a suggestion as to what part might cause it not to boot?
Thanks,
AsteroidWalnut
Hi, I have a z3 d6653 my phone was constantly rebooting even though I know its a software thing as it has happened before and by flashing stock lp again it got fixed this time I ignored it and by letting the phone off as it's not my daily driver I wanted to see if itll settle by itself. It did settle and I used the phone till 4% but when i took it back it was off Im sure bc of it starting to reboot again so I wanted to charge it then fix it but after 1% charging it was constantly rebooting in charging mode so with that 1% I thought of booting into recovery and wiping only caches but during the operation it went off and now even though the led is showing like it's charging, it isn't actually so I decided to ask here if any of you can help me i.e know any way how to charge the battery..
Update: I have the back of the phone opened so I thought of unplugging the battery and plug it again but now it's worse not even the red led of charging doesn't turn on, I tried a few fixes but none is working..
Update 2: Like I mentioned I tried many fixes for soft/hard brick and many many others but non worked or at least I had no result but today I thought of charging the battery of my z3 in xperia e4g and after I did so the phone started normally and now its working perfectly, so happy I got it back ^_^
Hi at all,
about a week ago my girlfriend dropped her Galaxy S6 into the toilet (NEVER put your phone into your back pocket).
After some days of drying I was able to turn it on while plugged in and except for the battery everything worked. I replaced the battery and everything went back to normal. Sometimes the battery wouldn't charge over a specific level and sometimes it just turned off but since yesterday it keeps turning off as soon as I can see the lockscreen. If it's plugged in it stays on and I can use it as always, everything still works, but it's basically impossible to use it without a charger
What could be wrong? How I can identify the source of the problem? Is there a log I can use or some diagnostic tool?
Thanks a lot,
Thomas

Did you use an oem battery? If after using a genuine Samsung battery you still having issues, it may point to the charging part of the motherboard.
The battery I bought was sold as "official" Samsung and it looked exactly the same. I also didn't buy the cheapest one so I guess that's fine. I don't think that it's a problem with the battery since the phone boots up until the lockscreen appears and then shuts down. If the battery was dead it would crash at any random point and not always at the exact same time. The overall behavior is pretty strange since it stays on and works perfectly fine as long as the charger is connected.
So is there a log I can search through? Mayber there's some kind of low voltage warning or something like that. Otherwise I'd have to sell it as a defect device on ebay and I would rather like to keep it
Hi
I was charging my phone and it went dead black screen no boot at all
Any trick to wake it up, i have changed the battery with no luck
what could be the problem,
Did u pull the battery and boot that way, this happens to mine all the time, no clue why, its really pissing me off, i am rooted, not sure if u are,but this is gettin out of control, goes black and have to pull the battery to restart, the power button does nothing. Let me know if thats your issue aswell
Do you mean take the batterie out and put it in again and then start . This procedure have i tried many times with no luck
Yes I'm rooted I remember that it was on 50% when it goes black and I successfully got it booted again I did not know how I think it was luck, then I flashed the current stock rom but it went down again and now I can't get it to boot again, it's totally dead
when it happens to me, i could be in the middle of doing something or even if the phone is just in standby, but the strange thing is that its still technically connected to my samsung gear fit, its not til i take the battery out that it disconnects from it and then after puttin battery back in the phone reboots. its just strange, im hoping maybe its battery related so i have a few new batteries coming this week to check if thats the problem. the battery is still stock and doesnt look like its bloated but that was a issue with other batteries ive had in other phones causing it to turn off. THis site didnt have much info on the issue but google searchin for black screen on android had alot of other options
