At night I was left with 90% battery . But at morning I found my phone on floor dead. I tried to open it , but it shows empty battery. Then I tried charging then MI logo came and again showed empty battery and phone is not charging. There is no external damage to the phone as I used a rugged cover. What can I do now? I tried force reboot , fastboot etc. But no response , just MI logo and empty battery while charging.
I think, the battery cable is disconnected. You need to remove back cover and connect it. (Back cover is glued)
hi...i get similar (weird) boot/battery loop affer display replacement.

update:
i noticed that if i connect the broken lcd (screen completely dark) and connect to the laptop via usb it bootloop but after some times...(30 min or more) the laptop start recognize it . at that point i connect the NEW lcd (without disconnect power) and i can see that android is up&running...but touch screen doest work.
Any idea please?
Ok..if it can be of any interest...things are emproving....
Now situation is.....if i connect the new lcd to the motherboard....connect the battery and the usb cable to my laptop.....and i leave the connection this way for around 30 min....the phone boot up and it work normally.
The only problem is when i reboot it again .because it start looping again and i have to wait another 30 min to have a mobile fully working.
In addition ive noticed that when the phone is working...the battery is instuck at 50%. And battery settings say that phone is NOT in cherge even if the usb is connected to the mobile.
I belive that the charge circuit is broken....
Now i have to pray that is just the little pcb that cost only 10 bucks...more or less.....

It might be a faulty flat cable between the main motherboard and the small board with the usb port? Just a wild guess..
Ia it glued to the screen assembly with a strong glue? You could try using the flat cable from the old display
i will give it a try and let you know.
thx for your help

Both chips responsable of power management and charge are on the main board. Hope they are not "broken/burned" in your case.

I restarted recovery and took the battery out just as the phone was supposed to restart, and I think I burned the battery pin connectors, I'll buy a new battery today and see if the phone charges, I'm hoping for the best

No it doesent turn on and I connected the battery to a PC speaker that I have and the sceaker made that sound that it usually does when connected to a power source so it is definitly not the battery problem, it's something to do with the rest of the phone. Since it doesent do anything I think it's dead :crying:
My phone died on me too, the last rom I installed on it was the cm-10.2-20130907-NIGHTLY-crespo.zip
I also have a similar problem - when traveling on a plane recently I pulled the battery. Since then the phone won't start - If i plug the charger in the screen flashes once briefly and then turns off without displaying anything. To make things worse the power button broke months ago.
Does anyone have any suggestion what to try before going to have it serviced?
Cheers
My phone will power off even while locked while in my pocket. Last night, i plugged
It in after it went dead and it kept looping through the battery then the motorola symbol and wouldnt
Power on. Both of these are seperate issues
but is there a way to require me to slide something
To turn my phone off? Also, what happened to my phone?
Same issue
I'm having a similar issue of the phone shutting down in my pocket. Holding the power button for a few seconds even if locked will restart phone. It's pretty bad to have a phone shut down randomly, so a fix would be welcome.
I had the same problem with the motorola symbol looping even when my battery was almost full. I took it to a Verizon store but while waiting for my turn the phone miraculously successfully booted before I could show it to them, so I just left. Hasn't happened since though.

Hmm.. Could be a bad phone.
When charging are you using the stock USB cable? I don't always but some cables and plugs have different voltages and stuff that may not send the correct voltage to your phone and cause it to do weird things like that.
Someone can correct me if I am incorrect.

For example I have a Pipo tablet and if I attempt to charge it through a specific belkin USB charger, it boot loops.

I tried holding down my power button. Apparently, it is being held down in my pocket. Btw, the reason for
This is probably to shut down the phone if it locks up.
Hey there , i came to you because i think my phone done a short circuit, it was ON and pluged in an inactive USB port on my PC which i've plugged internaly just after.
Then i noticed that the low battery LED on the OnePlus doesn't blink anymore. First of all i thought about a complete discharge. But no charging LED. I've plugged the phone on the power adapter : No LED. This is when i started to freak out.
I've took appart the phone, removed the battery, mesured the voltage : 3.77 Volts. The battery is normaly 4.35 Volts.
Is it a big gap even if there is always a tolerance ?
Is my battery is dead ? Or something shorten the motherboard ?
I don't want to buy a new battery if this won't solve the issue, and i have no schematics to do a continious testing with my multimeter on the motherboard..
Any help is welcommed. Thanks.
I think you were too quick to take phone apart, you should have been keep the phone connected to charger for atleast 6 hours before taking it apart ..

Connect your OPO to Wall Charger, Charge it for about 10min or so. Press n Hold Power Button for at least 1min.
If nothing fancy happened to your phone than it should boot from dead. If not than think further.
BTW When you connect it to your pc, how's your pc recognize your device as?
Any QHSUSB_BULK 9006 Or 9008 error? If not than Its not Bricked yet. Just try to charge for 10min and check.

Do you have OnePlus drivers installed? Or Have you installed them previously?
There's no way Phone could go dead without any prior sign. I mean there must have been something happened to it before it gone dead brick!
What was last state when you saw it working beforeot went blank?

Charging LED will only lit up while device is ON. If device was completely functional before it died, than I'm assuming it as Battery issues.
Did it ever got warm or hot near battery area? Since you've already took it apart to check voltages,so you know it better which area I'm talking about.
Most likely it could be Battery. If not anything major.

Okay so i got the phone to boot up. plugged it into usb : Phone don't got recognized. battery charging logo in status bar
Plugged to power adapter : Battery charging logo on status bar.
I noticed that the charge is incredibly slow. then i goes in parameters -> battery to check battery mode and stuff.
underneth the graph it says : 2% Not charging. But i got the logo on the status bar... ?
So here is a recap of the issues i got : Battery not charging, and discharging fast.
Not recognized by USB
No rear faced camera and flashlight.

hi, how did you get it to boot up? are you running the device directly from USB power? or is it running on battery?
Hold volume up, nothing else and connect it to your PC. After that check device manager and find "QHSUSB_Bulk. If you can find that one, send me a PM.
Hey everybody,
I really need your help. Yesterday when I tried to charge my S6 it did not recognized the USB cable. I repeated it a lot but it did not work. Today I've tried it again, when suddenly the charging icon showed up for a few secounds and disappeared. This happens four or five times and then I simulated battery pull. After this charging did work until it was almost finished. I want to try again to see if it was working, but now it does not work anymore.
I though about a hardware so I cleaned up the USB port and tried different cables. As charging did work for a full cycle I think that it cannot be an issue of the USB port. Battery seems also to be okay as it could be charged. Now I think about the custom kernel. I installed XtreStoLite with arter97 kernel. Could this really be? Or - I don't know - is charging not depending on kernel in any way? I would test it but (you know my problem) the USB is not recognized when I try to connect it to my PC. And I don't want to use the last few percentage of battery to install other rom whereas it has nothing to do with!
Thank you very much in advance!
The kernel can't be the issue if it has charged while you've had that custom kernel running, as you've said it did one cycle. Seeing as you've tried a different cable, have you tried a different charger at all?
Hi sofir786,
thank you for replying! Yes, tried some. Plus connecting to PC. Not working
It seems so crazy. As it was working once battery and USB cannot be bricked I suppose.
Also crazy: When plugged in it seems not to drain battery (but do not charge!). However battery is good (could be charged!). So I'm about to doubt in kernel ...
I personally don't think it's the kernel, but the only way you'll know is by flashing another through recovery(hacker and N0G33K are 2 alternatives). If after flashing a new kernel the issue still exists it could possibly be the battery itself.

Oh just a suggestion, try getting hold of a wireless charger and see if that charges it fine. I think at some point you need to do a factory reset or another rom if you can manage it all with the battery remaining.
Hello,
im new here.
My nexus 5 microphone was not working, therefore I opened it up, battery was around 12%; I patched it up and thereafter its not switching on. I have replaced the old battery with a new one, left it overnight on charge; still device is not getting on or responding to power or power+volume buttons booting option. My phone is not rooted. Connecting to the pc or laptop does not change anything. All I hear is a faint buzz from the open back of the phone indicating it is active. Need some help here seriously.
Do you see the charging animation when connected to a charger? Any indication the screen is lighting up? Possibly defective battery?

I do not see anything on the screen. It completely remains dark on charging (laptop/ wall sockets). On laptop under ports "device description failure" is the status.

Double-checked internal connections? Is possible an internal complement was damaged during the battery swap? Tried charging wirelessly or different cables and chargers?

I had been careful and internal components are unharmed because battery swapping was done without removing the motherboard. I dont have wireless chargers but I have used different cables.
Sounds like the phone may be bricked. The only way to really tell would be to put the motherboard into another working phone.

Since I do not have another working android phone, will it be sensible to take it to a repair shop? Will there be a chance to bring back the phone to a working mode?
You could take it to a repair shop but they may do exactly what you have tried.
Did try try cleaning around the power button?

Yes, i have cleaned the power button.
What happens if you put the old battery back in place? Does the phone boots up? Because it's strange that a simply battery replacement bricked the device.
Sounds like you'll need to find a way to try the motherboard in another phone.

I've had this happen a few times. To start the phone I simply hold down the power button and the volume down button until the green robot screen shows up from which I simply start the phone. Perhaps this will work for you.
