Hi. I just bought a brand new (at least I think It's brand new) Google Pixel 128GB (G2-PW4100) from a well known online store here in Norway. The phone wasn't listed as refurbished or anything like that, but it was a bit suspicious that a) the phone didn't come with the original wall charger, instead it came with some chinese charger with an EU plug (wouldn't it make more sense if they just had included an EU adapter together with the original charger instead?), and b) the phone came preloaded with Android Oreo (version 8.0.0, not 8.1) out of the box? My serial number is FA76X, so can anyone tell me when my phone was manufactured? June 2017? ps. I am able to unlock my bootloader (OEM unlocking option in developer options is NOT greyed out). Thanks.

Glad to see someone else from Norway. I'm from Bergen myself (but living in Sweden )
Everything you've gotten is all right. Since Google doesn't sell Pixel phones to scandinavia they are imported from partners and that's why they needed to change the charger to be able to sell them in scandinavian stores. The phone you got is good from the serial number to judge. Phones produced in 2016 are prone to get a hardware problem affecting sound and microphone. You'll not have that since your's produced in 2017. All is good, enjoy your phone!

Quick question.
After I got my HTC replaced due to pink screen, I got the new one and the AC adapter that came on the pack was no longer the TC P300 but a small TC B250. Does any one recognizes this and why the pack are being shipped with dif adapter?
I am waiting on HTC reply. Because there is nothing on the webpage or their support know nothing about existence of this adapter.
I think the new AC adapter TC B250 is now standard issue with UK Desires. I got one with my Desire from Handtec but they didn't supply any the actual UK plug (or any plug) with it!
Yep, apparently only to UK Ireland their shipping those adapters. I am trying to get a foretold explanation from HTC so I can update the post.
You mentioned you no plug at all... did they replace the adapter or how did you sort it?
When charging your phone have you notice any issues that of you charge overnight when you unplug it on the morning the battery has 5% off the 100% with np usage?
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
thanks for the reply. I am discussing this issue with handtec at the moment. at this stage I would say they are skeptical. I can't comment about the charging performance as I can't use it without a plug!
makes sense
Let's us know about how its going you case. I believe there is no much information about this new adapter. I am still trying to get a product reference or description off HTC but they don't seem to have it. On the accessories page on HTC website I can't find any mention to such model, either in european website neither in the US one..
Here is HTC reply:
" Hello, Thank you for your reply, The device itself is UK specific which is why it came with a UK charger. We cannot change it for an EU one, sorry but you can contact with your retailer. Please do not hesitate to contact us again if required. Thank you for contacting HTC.
Hi Larbac, I thought I would give you an update. Handtec sent me a replacement charger but it is the old style one with the trapeziodal housing. So maybe in time I can find a 3 pin plug for the TC B250 on ebay but until then it will gather dust.

Interesting, as it looks like there are no information about this adapter and whenever you complain the ones they replace with are the old TC P300. That's weird this situation... somewhere, someone is packing this adapter into the phone boxing and this must be recognized somewhere... I just don't know how...
When I complained near my provider and they would like to give me an adapter they had in store. some they normally use for their own phones. So I kept mine.
thanks for update
Some news...
for the first time I see this adapter on the web. Some one is selling them on UK.
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/NEW-GENUINE-H...PDACharger&hash=item4150951f7e#ht_1501wt_1137
Apart from this my contact with HTC ended on a phone call where they offered me a new charger. I think they though the all purpose was to have and european plug.. While I wanted to know if I can get adapters... Now I have to carry 2 adapters arround..
But the charger they gave me is from previous, older HTC models with USB connection and a micro USB adapter...
I am just tired and I am not continue on the conversation about this issue...
Can you get USA and European two-pin plug tops for the B250 charger? I can't see them anywhere, so why make it 110/240V 50/60Hz if there's only the included UK 3-pin head? The extra cost of including the other two with the phone would be pennies.

As far as I am aware those plugs do not exist. At least I could not find them. And when I queried HTC about they simply post me an adapter from old HTC with an USB 2 MicroUSB adapter.
Did anyone find a place where they sell only the plug? If someone wants to trade a UK plug for a EU plug, hit me up.
It's really stupid to buy a new charger when we could simply change the plug..
Hey guys, I live in the U.S. and am extremely dissappointed by the Euro socket charger for the HTC desire. I need a United States wall socket for it, and cant find it online. Does anybody know where I can find one? Thanks in advance.-rs0cal
As it's USB, you can just buy a standard international adapter with various socket/plug fittings

mine came with a US socket, don't know if it's because mine is from Telstra (US 3G version). i'd go to BestBuy or TMobile as well; they sell aftermarket USB wall power units.
And I am from EU, and mine came with US plug
Funny things happen..
Yeah i guess so. Its a A8181 from Mexico I think, since the box is all written in spanish.
Will do, I'll check out my local T-mobile for socket options. Thanks all'.
I got a charger with the option to change plug. Which is nice.
Sent from my HTC Desire
Mine also comes with the USB plug adaptor and two slot ons, one for the UK/Ireland and one for US.
Strange your one not coming with one.
i got a telstra one also and it only came with the aussie plug for the ac adapter
as in it was in 3 pieces, some sort of universal usb adapter brick, a usb cable, and the plugin piece that slides onto the usb adapter brick, and the sline in plug piece is aussie only, came with nothing else.
so i gotta charge it via computer usb for now til i buy something else...
Well there's always the chance that those of us on here who don't travel may be up to just posting over the part that is needed....3-4 quid postage is nothing after all for helping out a fellow XDA member.
Hey everyone,
I'm writing to you all because I could use some some help or diagnosis because I really don't know what's wrong here.
Okay so first thing first, I've been using this phone for 4 months now, and so far, I like it.
So I've been using the USonic for listening to my music. Except that since a couple weeks, the USonic has been acting weird.
One side isn't working correctly anymore, the sound is weird (not loud and.. just not natural) and the microphone isn't working.
But fortunately, the sound is working decently if I plug them on the other side (although it doesn't sound as loud as it used to..)
One time, both sides weren't working at all (Accessory not supported in the settings) but after a cleanup of the USB port, it went back to the "one side only is working"
Okay so I thought that MAYBE my USonic were just half dead.
So I decided to use the adapter (which I barely used)
It sounded like it was working correctly but then I realized that while I was playing music (or even when they're just plugged in), the adapter disconnected/reconnected (the earphones icon disappeared/reappeared and so is the warning message that says that the adapter will draw power)
I noticed that it occurs when I touch the adapter a little bit, so it can work if I don't move at all, but that's definitely not possible given that I mainly listen to music when I'm commuting.
For instance, putting the phone in my pocket and walking would trigger the issue.
So now I don't know, either I'm very unlucky with my accessories, either something's messed up with my USB port.
I originally wanted to send it to HTC for repairs but before doing that, I decided to be honest with them and told them that I unlocked the bootloader, so I wanted to know whether it would void my guaranty or not. And apparently, it does (in France)
So I'm not sure if I want to send it to repairs and pay a lot (for an issue that has nothing to do with unlocking the bootloader)
I also could buy a new adapter on HTC France but it pains the living hell of me to pay 16€ of shipping. It's just unacceptable.
So here I am, clueless on what do to. So I'm requesting your help, dear community.
What can I do? I did a factory reset already, I did go back to a RUU already.
I did clean the USB port and it looks clean but if you have any effective method on how to clean it, I'd be happy to hear about it.
If you know any place where I can buy a working adapter (which seems complicated) for a decent price.
Unfortunately, I can't buy Google pixels ones since Google doesn't sell anything in France.
Thank you very much for reading my misfortunes and I thank you for any help,
EDIT: Forgot to add that I have absolutely no problem with charging or transferring data with the USB cable.
Same problems
I have similar issues with mine (unlocked US version). My USonic headphones, charging cables and data transfer all work fine. When I first got the phone I had no problems with the included adapter, I even bought 2 more to keep as extras and they all worked fine.
About a month ago I plugged in the aux cable in my car and the sound was coming out of the phone, there was no headphone icon and it was not recognizing the adapter. Later I tested out the other adapters with no success. My wife has a U11 as well, so I tested all of the HTC adapters on hers with no problems which ruled out that my adapters were faulty.
I did a support chat with HTC who of course suggested that I factory reset my phone, which didnt work. Then they suggested I do a RUU, which also didn't solve the problem. The port is clean, no dust or lint.
On the google play store reviews for the "Audio Jack Toolkit" app many people are reporting the same issue. I just haven't had time to send the phone in for repairs at the moment.
You're lucky that I am seeing your post.
I'm in France as well and I have experience with HTC support team & repair center. But I don't have any problem with USB C connection in no matter what situation on my HTC 10 & U11.
I suspect that some pins of your USB C port on the U11 is not working well, so that you can't listening to music well but meanwhile you can charge it normally.
To test if it's a problem of the adapter you bought, just plug the adapter to any other USB C port phone, to see if it's working. (Yes, HTC headphone jack adapter works for most other non-HTC phones with USB C)
And, I'd say you should grab your chance to send the machine for repair if it's really a hardware (USB C port) issue. Even that you removed the warranty, but you should try. Because it's Cordon electronics who repairs the HTC phones in France, not HTC official staffs. Even if they found you don't have your warranty anymore, you should also be able to pay them to repair (the warranty just covers the repair fee, not means HTC strictly refuses to repair). You can't just live with it or spend another 800 euros or more to get a Pixel 2.
Anyway, you're welcome to reach me out on PM so that we may talk on twitter or other platforms. XDA is good for sharing developer stuffs but not for friendly chatting.

Little update. I sent my phone to Cordon electronics with both accessories.
I just received it today and not only they only gave me a new pair of HTC USonic (I did put the adapter on my package and yet I received nothing from them) but the best thing is that my screen is now cracked!! Wow.
I don't know how I'll ever prove that I sent it without it being cracked but I feel that I'm pretty much screwed.
I know that this is independent from HTC but honestly I lost faith in the company :/

WTF...Send email to HTC support with photos.
That's just ridiculous...
Keep me updated, I'm HTC elevate & ambassador, I can't just let things like this happens. If you want, send me a PM with all the details/photos, I'll see what I can do.
You shouldn't have to do this but I suggest recording everything you do from now. Record yourself boxing up the phone, etc. It's something I always do after horror stories of repair centres returning damaged phones.
Audio Router.apk is the solution
I just had the same issue with my Usonic headphones. They would only work if I gently pushed them in and any movement caused them to disconnect. Charging worked fine. I used a needle and cleaned out all of the dust and pocket lint from my USB port and now they are working perfectly!
Hi guys
Have a Galaxy S7 (uk O2 unlocked) that was working great until the latest ota update about a month ago (Android 7).
Since then it will not connect to PC or OTG adaptor.
The only thing it will do via USB is charge.
I've enabled developer options and chose MTP connection. No luck.
I've done the *#0808# and set MPT and reboot. No luck
I've look closely at the USB charging pins and they look clean and not damaged.
I've changed to USB cable. No luck
I've tried a different USB port on PC and different OTG adaptor. No luck
I've done a full factory reset. No luck
The thing is, I am willing to try installing previous versions of Android software but without a PC connection I don't know how I'm going to proceed.
The phone is not rooted (and I do not want to root it).
How can I fix this problem?
Generally a problem with the USB port/cable as the charging and data pins are separate so one can fail while the other works
Quite a few people have had to replace the phone charging port, if it wont' connect in Download Mode, then the firmware update is not the cause, download mode has nothing to do with firmware
Ah, so you suggest putting the phone into download mode ( vol down + home + power) and then connect to a pc?
This should eliminate the firmware been at fault?
Correct?

Yep, and is also the way to flash a new stock ROM with ODIN
Just tried this .... nothing
Just to make sure, I put a friend's S7 in download mode and it connects to the pc just fine.
What's the cheapest way to repair the micro usb port in the UK?

Cheapest would probably be eBay and doing it yourself, but the unit is sealed and needs a heatgun to remove the back
Plenty of tutorials on YT though if you want to give it a shot, next cheapest would be one of those dodge phone repair shops but I wouldn't be trusting them my with S7, or if it's still under warranty, Samsung
I've had a look at my paperwork and it was part of the O2 refresh deal that came with 12 months warranty.
I've cancelled my contact with them but paid for the S7 in full and it 11 months in.
Even though I'm no longer with O2, they should be legally required to fix it, right?

I'm also with o2 for mine, when I had problems with the camera I contacted Samsung UK via twitter who offered me a courier to collect free of charge and have it repaired under warranty
Try both, don't suppose it matters really but might have more luck with Samsung as you've paid off o2 already
HI Guys,
Looking for some help. I have an HTC U11 on Oreo. Recently installed a Kenwood 7704S Android Auto HU.
Installed Android Auto app via google play, as well as latest version direct from Google. Phone is just not detected using the original USB C cable BUT the phone is charging, all other functions work via the Android Auto app without being cable connected. Short of installing older AA apk versions I am at a loss. I have tested unit with a iphone and Apple Car Play launches fine so it is not a a HU issue as I assumed. I had used this unit with a P10 Plus and it worked but I had intermittent issue with it as well but with the U11 it has just quit launching all together. I have reset phone to factory and tried fresh, no success. I have enabled Developer mode and enable USB debugging and selected MTP Protocol still no luck. I thought perhaps Nova Launcher may have been the culprit but not the issue once reverting to Sense as launcher. I have enabled AA permissions so thats set up correct.
Anyone experience U11 Android auto issues, super frustrating and don't want to run a custom rom just yet or possibly sell phone and find a working Android phone, last OP3 worked with previous Sony XAV-AX100 but I sold that unit wanting an extra USB port. Suggestions welcome cause I am at wits end beside trying other AA versions from earlier dates or rolling back to Nougat, that I have not yet tried. Phone has worked on Oreo and I got it with Oreo but I was experience intermitent connectivity. I can't see it being the USB C port but I did test the unit at the audio store where I bought my 7704S on their demo 9904S and same issue the phone charged but would not launch AA on the HU so it seems to be a hardware/software issue with the U11 itself
I don't have a Kenwood head unit but I have a pioneer NEX-4100 with Android Auto & Apple Carplay.
I just went out to the garage hooked up my wife's (I don't have one) HTC U11 (64GB USA Version) and successfully configured & established an Android Auto connection to the head unit. Ran through the menus and it functioned properly.
I used the USB C cable that came with my LeeCo S3 phone and it worked with the HTC U11. I did not try to use the HTC U11 cable as I don't know where the ball and chain keeps it. But I know cable(s) and Android Auto make a difference.
The U11 was on the latest Oreo 8.0 stock rom and is not rooted.
Hope that helps....
Also, on my Pioneer head unit, I have to specifically enable either Apple or Android Auto in the menu. So if it's not setup to use AA then it won't work until I enable it. This is only done once or until you need to use the Carplay side. Additionally, There are two USB connectors on my head unit with one connector specific to the iPhone and the other specific to the AA phone.

Thanks for your reply and taking the time to test your wifes HTC u11 on your Pio system. I am stumped still with no luck, with the Kenwood there is no selecting either the AA or Car Play in menu system will just launch automatically upon connection of device. The oddest thing is when I tested my sons 7 Plus it worked flawlessly but following I tried with my HTC U11 using the factory cable and no success. I plan to buy a better USB C cable and give it one last try because I am stumped and frustrated. Mine is USA version as well 64GB. Everything works as it should aside from the system being able to detect the phone and yet the deck rapid charges the device through either USB connection.
I tried another USB C cable and this one gives "an access error of the USB device has occurred" What makes this story even odder is my phone is not detected by my pc either so I am really starting to question if there is an issue with the USB C port, it charges fine but from my understanding data flows via different contacts within the port. This is the only sensible reason at this point. At this point as much as I like the U11 I am considering an alternative Android phone. When i looked up this access error there are lots of people with the issue and Kenwood decks as well as others... Seems it can be a hit or miss with this newest connection

I have been fighting cables and Android Auto for a long time now and finally found my problem which is so dumb to be almost unbelievable. Had a friend suggest this and it was the problem. I keep my phone in my pocket. It picks up lint in the USB C connector. And slowly over time. I took a toothpick and cleaned out the connector. It gets packed in, so takes a while to completely clean it out. I was shocked how much came out. After doing this, all my USB errors disappeared and problems with various cables disappeared as well. Duh, the common denominator was always the phone, not the cable. But it was curious that some cables seemed to work better than others. I feel so dumb, I actually returned this model phone in the first year under warranty because it finally stopped charging by cable. Got another phone and a wireless charger, but my second phone started acting up again and finally just refused to work a few months ago with Android Auto. Now everything is working great again.
I have LG G6 and Kenwood 7704 HU.
Chris
I'm having the same problem.
I have a pioneer 4200 nex, and can't connect to android auto. Worked perfect with previous m9, but since I bought U11, nada.
I'd be curious to see if anyone can help figure this one out. I drive a lot for work so it was nice seeing Maps on the screen.
Check the Kenwood website and see if there's a mention of unit having problems with type C connectivity.
pioneerelectronics.com/PUSA/Car/NEX/Android+Auto+not+working+for+newer+USB+Type-C+phones+(including+Pixel
While researching about me pioneer HU, this is what I found out. I suppose you can use the recommended cables as listed in the pioneer website as it sounds more of a cable problem than anything else.
I will post more once my new type A cable comes in. Sux I gotta go back in the dash to plug it in though. I still have my OEM type C so that should work.
