Brand new One Plus 6 Stuck in OnePlus Logo - OnePlus 6 Questions & Answers

So I just got my One Plus 6 today and was setting it up installing my favorite apps so I decided to see the community app while apps were downloading and my phone crashed and turned off.
It tried to boot again but it got stuck on the one plus logo right after the "Powered by android" message is gone.
I just can't believe this just happened to me in a brand new, out of the box phone.
Please help!

You'll need to do another factory reset. I think if you hold volume down and power key it takes you to the default OnePlus recovery and there's an option to format inside you. Other users please correct me if I'm wrong.
As for the crashing. Was it due to low battery or it just randomly crashed? Sounds very odd, I think you're one of the few who had this happen.

I know, I have never experienced something like this, nor have I heard about an issue similar. I can't even get to the recovery screen, it goes straight to a black screen, but I can feel it vibrates when I touch somewhere in the black screen. So pretty much my new phone is dead.
It had about 90 percent of battery and it crashed when I was surfing through the community app. Weird af.

To be honest. I would just warranty it. No point wasting the time trying to recover it to only have an unstable phone.

Had a similar issue with my old Sony z3, motherboard was toast.. Got it replaced right away, phone counted as "dead on arrival"

Yes, I have contacted one plus and seems like that's the only way to solve this. Though they keep transferring my case and all of them want me to go into recovery mode, which I can't do.

Desire S death after market AGAIN..

my phone is not rooted at all, i've just been using launcher pro.
Thing is, few months ago, the emmc chip thing has already happened to me.
While updating in the market, it hanged, i pulled the battery, and it died.
I sent it to HTC to repair and got it back. Phone has been smooth since then.
But few days ago I clicked update all, and it hanged again. Was stuck at the htc white screen for a while, but after constant on and off, i was sooo jubilant when the launcher pro loaded. So no problem after that.
but just now, i was just downloading one or two apps in the market, and it hanged again. I tried to turn it off and on, and so far it hasnt responded well..
it stops at HTC- quietly brilliant, the music rings, and nothing else happens.
(I am guessing this is a good sign? when my emmc chip fried, the music never played)
can anyone help me now though? i don't know what to do except hold both volume buttons and shutting down and restarting again.
i might have to pull out the battery at some point and restart.
i love the phone, but this really sucks big time.
Without intentionally meaning to offer any sympathy, am I right in thinking that after a battery pull killed your first device you then went on and pulled the thing again?
have you looked at this
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1284196
from my Desire S using XDA Premium
i know pulling the battery kills it, but i couldnt really do anything else..
well now i'm screwed again.
the thing is pretty much dead, and only gives me the white htc screen.
seriously, htc? if i were rich or had another phone replacement i'd throw this phone out the window at this moment.
now i'm not even in the country where i bought my phone and have my warranty ughh.. is htc's warranty global, or am i screwed?

Not much help now, but should you give HTC one more chance, and it locks up again, you can force a reset without battery pull by holding down both volume keys and the power button.

Wait... you said in your first post that you got past the white screen with green "htc" on it (the splash image) and onto the bootanimation (where it says "quietly brilliant" and plays the music... is that correct?
If it is, its a good sign. It means your phone is getting to the ROM and attempting a bootup. I hope you havent pulled your battery meanwhile!!! This thing may still be salvageable.
Do let us know if you can still get to the bootanimation...
the first few times it did run to the part where "quietly brilliant" came up with the music, but after that it never loaded, so i kept soft resetting many times but it would never load. Then it stopped loading pass the white HTC screen. When i soft reset, the phone blackouts for a few secs and that white screen pops up again. So there wasn't even a chance to do (volume down + power) to do a factory reset. I had to pull the battery.
Today I took it to the service center, since this is not the country where I bought my phone, it wasn't under warranty, and I will have to pay around $30 USD. it will be back by next tuesday though.
but seriously, how is this the fault of the consumer? I have not rooted or s-off my phone. It hanged while doing an ordinary phone function - downloading from the market. How is an average consumer supposed to know that he shouldn't be pulling out the battery? and he should need to know how to do all the technical recovery things himself?
f htc.. this is the last htc product i will be using in a few years.
second time it happened to this phone too, and like i said, it happened last week too, though i was able to reboot it after maybe 30 minutes.
the only one good thing is at least they gave me a temporary phone (wildfire) to use while my desire s is being fixed.
Same problem here with me, while trying to open htc likes, it hang and no response from power bottom, i waited for 2 min, still no response, so i pull out the battery, and re install and try to open my htc desire s, its doesnt power up, no response, it does not open even the white screen of htc, no vibration, its like an dead now, try to go to recovery mode, my clicking vol down+ power key. still there is no responce, i dont know what to do, as there is no htc sercive center in my country. guys please help me if there is any other way to make it alive, i ma really worried that its hardware problem or software problem, as i havent drop it or it has in contact with water, just it hang up and i pull the battery and reinstall. please guys help me

Nexus 5 screen died today + dangerously hot lower screen

Went to unlock my phone this morning off the charger and the screen is totally dead. Couldn't unlock or do anything to it or even see what was going on, called Google and ordered a replacement ASAP.
Went through the not fun task of doing a nandroid backup without seeing what was on the screen and doing some trickery with screenshots then backing up my entire SD card.
However, here's the strange and potentially dangerous thing that I noticed later when I got home this evening. I went to look at the phone and go to a fastboot flash with the factory images and went to touch the bottom of the screen. When I went to do so, to the little bit of the left of the LED light was a SUPER hot portion of the phone. I almost burnt my finger it was so hot.
Not sure what to do about the issue, I feel like if I just call the support line they won't actually take in my concern legitimately. Any suggestions?
thats something quite strange
let us know what google says about RMA and this issue
Agree, maybe it's just your phone, maybe it's all the batch. Which batch/model do you have?

On my Transformer Infinity, sometimes the screen won't turn on at all. On a few occasions, if I press Power enough times, I get a glimpse of a message saying the Launcher process has stopped, but then my touchscreen doesn't register any input. The tablet is also sometimes running quite hot at those times. The only way I know to recover from this is press the Power button long enough to force a reboot, then everything is normal. Could this be what's happening? Do you know if the phone is still running under the black screen? Have you tried forcing a reboot, and did it work?
As for the hot phone, I've noticed my N5 does get a bit warm when I'm using it intensively (4G, WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS and screen on all at the same time and in use) but not enough to burn me. Could be hard to tell which component is heating up like that since I think it could be the screen backlight, SoC or battery... Do let us know if you find out more.

I had called them and reported the screen totally dead with lines streaking vertically and got a new replacement ordered. It wasn't until late last night when I got back and had the screen on in this dead mode that the bottom was extremely hot. I'll have to call them back and let them know

Yeah hopefully, it definitely seems like it could be one of those things that could potentially start fire. The one I have is the LG-D820. Any more info I can provide?

Yeah, no its definitely dead. There were streaked lines across it, rebooted it multiple times. I ended up going into the bootloader and recovery via adb/fastboot and all that jazz. It eventually just would not work now.
In regards to the hot part I definitely think it was the lower part of the screen. It was quite literally half an inch away from the LED to the left. Was super super hot then once I shut the defective screen off (I could tell by the backlit light or whatever) it wasn't hot anymore after a minute or so.
Is it black/white? 16 or 32? When did you get it?

32gb black version. I ordered it immediately when they announced it that day.
mine gets really warm when i'm doing a TWRP backup then it goes into bootloop after and wont cool down. i have to force it to power off from recovery and let it cool, but i've always seen it happen. i wonder if yours was attempting to boot over and over for hours and cooked itself.....? i have a launch day black 32gb too, running Cataclysm with Franco at the moment but it was doing it on rooted stock with stock kernel
I had to send my 19 day old 32Gb Red Nexus 5 in to LG for the same reason. I was using the phone and all of the sudden had vertical lines and the bottom of the screen got burn your fingers hot. Waiting to see what LG does with my phone. The only thin I can figure is the synaptics chip which controls the screen is bad. Its the only thing in that area that could get that hot. I also noticed when I first got my phone the glass in the same area looked like it had a slight wave in it. Didn't think anything of it at the time. I'll let you know how it goes.
Is RMA/replacement applicable for Rooted and unlocked devices?
I don't believe its an issue with developer phones as long as the issue wasn't caused by something you did like brick it by flashing a wrong radio or something like that. It has to be a manufacture defect to get it fixed for free.

My device issue is related to power button. there is no software issue.
The power button is rattling since from the purchase of the device.
Hope my device gets repaired.
Like I said. Hardware issues that are production faults should be covered.

[please help] nexus 5 upside down screen

Hello All!
New user to xda, and I really need help.
I got a Nexus 5 about 15 days ago, and it has worked perfectly fine...until now.
For some reason, I was playing a game and all of the sudden the nexus 5 screen just flipped, but apparently it is only the graphics, because the controls remained on the same place (which makes it even worse).
I tried turning off the phone and back on, but even the boot logo is upside down.
I am even wiping the data to reset to phone to factory image, and even the recovery screen is upside down.
Has someone got into this trouble and knows how to fix it?
PLEASE HELP!

There no way a game in android can flip the screen in recovery. The game must be a coincidence and the flipped screen a fault.
Send for repair IMHO

And btw, the game couldn't have done that. As the guy above me said, it was just a coincidence.

No one yet with this situation? Is it possible that maybe the heat due to the sun might have caused this problem with the screen ?
don't worry

LOL, that would be easy fix
Is it possible that the cause of the screen going that way is the heat of using the Phone as a GPS, holding on the dash of the car? maybe the heat made it crazy...
Hard to say. As someone else mentioned, if it does it in both recovery and fully booted Android, you have a hardware issue. It could be from sun cooking and damaging the gpu, I guess. It does seem that your best option is RMA.
Upside Down and Backward!
I've had my Nexus 5 since December and have been very happy with it. I just had the exact same experience, where a swipe (in WWF) flipped my entire UI upside down and backward. The UI didn't match input points either; to select something that was a little up and to the right, I'd have to hit a little down and to the left to make the proper selection. Top right corner equals bottom left corner, and so on...
Getting ready to start a return; did you learn anything?

Im having the same issue. I wanted to know what the results were after you send it to repair.
My nexus 5 is still under warranty (bought it in amazon.es, but I think the warranty is with LG directly), but Im afraid if they consider it as a broken screen they'll want to charge me 160eur or so from what I have read (the outer screen is in perfect shape).
I also found from other phones having the same issues that it could have something to do with the flex cable (usb). This at least I could dare repairing it by myself.
I did a factory reset, and even in developer mode is all flipped and turned upside down. The place were all the buttons are supposed to be remain as if nothing is damaged, so I have to guess were on the other side that 'key' should be. Very annoying.
Any thoughts?
Thank you.

[Q] Crazy Boot Loop *help*

This morning my Nexus 5 decided to die. It's stuck in a boot loop. I've never rooted, or done anything crazy to my phone. Haven't even downloaded an app in a few days, maybe a week or more. I am running stock 4.4.2.
My morning started just right. My alarm on my phone went off letting me know it was time to go to work. Then after I got ready, I picked up my phone and checked emails, facebook, instagram, you know.. normal things I do every day. I put it in my pocket and proceeded to get into my vehicle to drive to work. I then checked the time. All of the sudden after I press the power button to see, it turned off. I then went to turn it back on by holding the button. It showed "Google" then turned off. That's when I knew I was in trouble. It then began... The boot loop of death. This thing sometimes gets to the four Google colors, then shuts off..but this is rare. I can't even do the whole volume down + power deal. I can.. but I can't make a selection because the phone restarts.
WHAT AM I EVER TO DO.
I tried the hard reset with the two buttons, obviously as I stated above, that doesn't work. I tried downloading this to see, but turns out you need to access the bootloader. I cannot do this either.
My question is, do I send it in for warranty work, or is there some magical way to fix this?
Well,
Even if there was a way to repair, I would not keep a phone that had this kind of problem. I think, you should call Google and ask them for a RMA.
While they send you the new Nexus 5, you can try to repair the old one (if anybody is able to provide you a "fix"). If you're able to repair it : great, backup your data and use the new phone (and send the old one to google, like you would do for a RMA).
The power button has record of getting stuck on its contacts. Some have fixed it by hitting the phone against a table. Obviously not recommended
and as it's an internal hardware fault, Google will replace it. .
Might be a stupid question, but are you sure it has battery? Maybe plug it in for an hour and try again.

This actually makes so much sense. I know sometimes when locking or unlocking, the screen would flash. So this, I believe may be the problem. I didn't even think about that.

S6 Freeze/bootloop out of the blue

So had this phone for a while now and no problems, been running nougat for the past few months, this morning took my phone off charge and placed in pocket. A bit later I checked my phone, it was not responsive a black screen, did a hard reset does the samsung logo then gets stuck either flashing blue or pink. So leave it until I get home, flash latest nougat with odin installs fine, reboots and does same thing freezes at boot samsung flashing blue. Flash it again and now its froze after its said erasing...
I think something has failed hardware wise, any others had this issue?.

Just install "CPU awake" from play store, this will help you keep the device working, this problem is very common in each & every Samsung flagship, starts after 2 year use(won't ever buy a Samsung flagship again), no fix for it, if you don't believe me, check Evey flagship forum q/a section.

That's a nand problem, if the device is cooled (I hold mine in front of AC for 5min.), that will help it to turn on & once it's on, install the app & it will work fine but it shouldn't be allowed to shutdown or it has to be cooled down again, it's not a new problem, thousands of Samsung mobiles which ship with faulty nand face the exact same problem, I know it sounds silly, it is what it is & it works(for thousands users)

Read it, on almost every page someone recommended using cpuwake, it's not my problem that you are such a fool who instead of trying to help someone with some advice, would just bash other people who have faced similar issues & maybe know the solution. You can go **** yourself for all I care.
Rishi is correct about cpu awake on the Note 4. It is commonly viewed as a means of extending the life of the Note 4 but eventually the phone will fail.
