i really want to use all the cool camera app that requires full camera2 api compatility (including raw).
it does not seem to be here in the pie update, is there a way to get it ? camera2 api is out since lolipop version in 2015 what are you waiting sony, for us all to switch to other brands ?
No raw

Friendly reminder "camera2 full" means one thing, and they are already supporting it.
Raw if any is covered by level_3, if you want a nice moniker. It's also available on SODP builds.

In nougat (Maybe samsung devices only, Idk, I'm comparing note 8 with note 4), when you take screenshots, no matter is a simple screen shot or it is with s pen, you have the scroll capture option.
Im wondering if I'm able to have the same option (with out taking out my s pen) and also have that ability?
In other words, marshmallow is 23 api and nougat 24 api, is it possible to install 24 api apps on 23 api system in any form, simple or difficult?
Thanks for your attention. I’m looking forward to your reply.
Hi!
I'm interested in more advanced video recording apps like "Filmic Pro" which need a certain level of Camera2 API support to function properly. Could someone with a J3 (2017) please run this free app "Camera2 probe" and tell me if the hardware level support category comes out as "Level 3", "Full", "Limited" or "Legacy", maybe post a screen grab?
Cheers!
Here you go!
I personally love the manual mode thing

Hey, thanks a lot, good to see that their super-budget phone has at least "Limited". While isn't enough for Filmic Pro, other manual camera apps work fine with "Limited". Cheers!
hi now i have chattet with op support
regarding op6 camera2 api level
an according to them its hardware there decide what level of camera2 api
so i asked them saying that they made a new flagship wiht more pure hardware than op3 since it support camera2 api level3
after i said the last thing in chat they disconnected me from the chat
I think, they've already said it there in the chat. Camera2API level 3 is not there then it isn't there.
Different hardware, different set of codes needed to integrate certain features, maybe they omitted it because of some issues on their new set of configs (hardware/software). If that's a dealbreaker for you then sell it and look for a new phone with Level 3 support.

Dear S8 / S8+ lovers:laugh:
You may know Samsung's policy about firmware updates: it is not going to last forever, unfortunately.
BUT, Samsung provides the best camera drivers and software for our S8/S8+.
So: Could you point me to the direction of a ROM that will be updated (AOSP or Lineage based, etc) that would embed these drivers, please?
(Please, share your experience)
Hence : Up-to-date ROM + Good camera / photo.
Cheers all

Still with original stock ROM on S8+ (so far)
Hi all,
Still no reply after a month.
Is it that no-one makes good pictures ? Lol
Or you don't have an up-to-date ROM ?
Your experience would be appreciated.
Hello,
does this phone support the Camera2API module? I frequently use OpenCamera and FilmicPro on my Honor 10 so I was wondering if I can do the same with Honor 20. If possible, could someone send screenshots from the 'Camera2 API Probe' and 'Filmic Pro Evaluator' apps?
Thank you.
Ok, so I got ahold of this phone and I tested out what it can and can't do regarding these functions. The result are are not terrible but not great either.
Camera2API
Here is the full report from the Camera2 API Probe. It's hard to read compared to the Android app, but here is my summary: It supports resolutions up to 48MP. It supports manual exposure (ISO/shutter). White balance too. The biggest caveat: no RAW support. You can't shoot in RAW with 3rd party applications like OpenCamera. Manual exposure works, you can also use the wide angle camera with manual exposure controls.
FilmicPro / OpenCamera
Here are the screenshots from the FilmicPro Evaluator app for all of the cameras available. In this case most of the features are supported. The EIS works only up to [email protected] though. You can't shoot 120fps videos with third party applications. The biggest caveat - no Cinematography Kit (aka LOG profile) support. I'm guessing this is related to the RAW format compatibility but I don't actually know. Same goes for OpenCamera, the color profile setting isn't available for video mode. Also, the EIS doesn't seem to work on OpenCamera for some reason.
(here starts the rant)
Honestly it's not bad (better than the P30 for example) but I don't understand why they disabled the RAW shooting option. I don't actually understand why they would limit the API at all for a phone at this price range. Especially when my Honor 10 (which was relased 1 year earlier) has this option. My guess is that it messes with their ****ty marketing gimmicks like 'Ultra-sharp 48mp mode' etc. This phone is good, but Huawei always makes a lot of specific enhancements with their software, and thus the options for customisation are limited. It's not a bad thing for "regular" customers that don't care about features like this, but I think they should allow the enthusiast to do their thing if they want to. It's going downhill since they stopped giving out bootloader unlock codes. While Huawei makes good phones, I feel like they are going more the closed-up iPhone way, and unfortunately this isn't something that suits me. I'll probably look somewhere else for my next phone - something like OnePlus (if the situation doesn't change).
If you have any other questions about the camera, or phone in general, feel free to ask.
