When my Oneplus 6 upgraded to Pie, I hated the new horizontal recent apps switcher, so I found this article detailing how to revert to vertical. I saw in update logs that the new app switcher has been optimized and improved especially for gesture navigation. I decided I might as well give it another try. I downloaded the latest version of Oneplus Launcher from APK mirror, but when I tried to install, it said "App not installed." What do I have to do in order to get the Launcher to update? I'm on a Oneplus 6 running OOS 9.0.2, rooted with Magisk. OnePlus Launcher version 2.5.1.180803161901.ff750b1 is installed alongside the latest Nova Launcher. If I try installing any version of OnePlus Launcher past 2.5.1.180803161901.ff750b1, it says app not installed. I have Titanium Backup installed if that could be used to fix anything.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks!

Infixed it with a dirty flash of the ROM. I always have it on the phone in case I mess something up.
While your at it I might just aswell update to newest firmware.
I'm about to upgrade to 9.0.3. Would that do the trick?

Go to magisk first page, install , install, install to inactive slot (After OTA) now your done. Reboot
Updated to 9.0.3 as per instructions. Still on the old launcher version. Still says app not installed when I try to update to the latest APK.

Try uninstalling updates on the launcher through app settings?
Or
Install any launcher (Nova) and install App Remover from play store. Developer is jumobile. You must be rooted. This will allow you to uninstall system apps that are otherwise unable to uninstall. Uninstall OnePlus launcher, reboot phone and then install your app.

There is no uninstall updates button for OnePlus Launcher in settings.
Uninstalled with Titanium Backup and successfully installed the latest apk. Unfortunately, now the multitasking view is broken. If I open it, sometimes it says "No recent items" and other times I get a error message that "OnePlus Launcher keeps crashing"
Restored the backup I made of the downgraded OnePlus Launcher I had so I have a multitasking screen again. Guess I should have made a backup of the original OnePlus launcher before I downgraded...
Launcher still will not update.
I've had an idea. Could someone with Titanium backup make a backup of the latest OnePlus Launcher and a Backup of OnePlus Launcher with updates uninstalled, then post the files?

Boot TWRP with 9.0.3 and twrp zip on a USB otg. Or with it downloaded on a computer. Format data. (The one that makes you type yes)
If on a USB otg, go to install and select your USB storage and install 9.0.3 add zip to que and select TWRP. Reboot TWRP and repeat.
If no USB otg make sure you're connected to a computer and transfer over the mentioned files and undergo that process. This should put you on a clean slate and maybe you can get the launcher your want
Fixed with a data wipe and fresh ROM flash.

I just installed the Calkulin v1.1 ROM & 2.6.32.33 pershoot kernel and am loving the combination so far, but I have two issues and I'm wondering if others are seeing the same things.
The Tweetdeck app will force close every time I click on a tweet to reply, click on URL, etc. I initially saw this after restoring from a Titanium Backup, but after reformatting/reflashing, I'm still seeing the behavior after a fresh install of the app. Any idea what might be happening here? Other twitter applications are working fine, but Tweetdeck is by far my favorite.
Secondly, I'd like to get Launcher Pro Plus installed but I can't figure out how to get the Launcher Pro free version uninstalled first. I tried dropping the .apk into /system/app but that didn't work, and ultimately led to the reformatting/reflashing I mentioned in the previous paragraph.
Other than these two nags, I love the ROM. It's definitely the snappiest of any I've tried so far.
Did you try using home switcher to get launcher pro active after install?
you shouldn't need to unistall launcher pro if you have the paid version, just either restore the backup you did of it before you flashed the Caulkin ROM or go into the settings and unlock it with the code they gave you.
The package installer returns an 'Application Not Installed' message when I attempt to install.
I assume this occurs because the full version can't install alongside the free version?

it's Probably due to the fact that it's in the system partition instead of the data/app folder but you should be able to activate it anyway

there aren't two different versions of launcher pro, just one. you have to unlock it in order to use all the features. just reflash the ROM and go to the settings for launcher pro and unlock it with the code you should have paid to get.
Hi everyone.
Running stock OP6 latest update.
Installed settings app from apk mirror and now the same won't open up instead keeps stopping again and again.
Since it won't open I can't uninstall it.
Anyone has a clue what to do about it?
Thanks in advance.
Edit. Same happening with dialer and contacts app.
Both updated through apk mirror.
Although Camera, Gallery and Files app work perfectly fine.
Anyone with an answer?
How to revert back to previous app version?
Edit : Finally had to reset my device and things settled. Although all my data is gone.
I suppose just too bad for me.
But I'm facing a pesky issue.
The files app shows no data but my gallery is picking up old garbage even after wiping the device clean. (Foolish of me not backing up the data)
PS I used the hard reset if anyone's wondering using the device's stock recovery.
I'll share the screenshot of the same..
Kindly suggest what's wrong with this..
i think u can uninstall app from the app drawer. long press the settings icon , and click uninstall if the options is available. if it isn't , u can re flash the whole rom by dirty flashing it. it shouldn't wipe the data.
As Azhar_Fahry mentioned, you can uninstall an app / app update from app drawer.
1. Tap and hold to get the options
2 (if OP launcer is updated), drag the icon to top (from app drawer) and you can select app info and then uninstall updates.
Alternatively,
You can install Link2SD and uninstall app / app updates from there.

Again system apps can't be uninstalled normally.
Secondly I'm not rooted to used link2SD.
I think need to dirty flash my phone.
System apps cannot be uninstalled if not rooted, but you can uninstall updates installed from play store or any external source. (You can reset the system app(s) to Rom default)
Attaching Scrrenshots - Follow from 1-end, click OK at the end. ( I am showing example of gmail, you can use it for any other systrm app too)
Naming screenshots 1-2-3-4-5 according to steps.
Uninstall updates to the settings app maybe. But if not dirty flashing the ROM will work

Not working since again settings app kept stopping.
Dirty/Fresh Install of Rom it is then
I excedently did something that removed the Playstore. Now when I install a apk, I can't download any apps, and if I try to it will crash. I've tried to use open gapps but didn't work. I got a error message when installing it with TWRP. So how can I fix this? Or is there a other way to get the Playstore back? (I am on Android 9)
it sounds like you're on stock, in that case flashing the rom should get you your playstore back
I guys, due to the impossibility to use gesture and keyboard normally both in 9.0.2 and ob6, i find a solution to solve this problem.
Which is the problem:
in OOS 9.0.2 or open beta 6, the new gesture system has some problems that really affect the user experience. The gesture system is managed by the stock launcher (oneplus launcher), and if you don't use this laucher but onother one (nova for example) you encounter a lot of problems such as:
-if you lock and unlock your phone, after unlock the app that you are using is in background and you are brought to home screen.
-if you try to write in some applications (telegram and whatsapp first), after some time and after an unlock of the screen, after some taping on the screen the keybord will close and appear a buggy interface of the recents page.
Requirements:
-root privileges
-An app that can unistall the system apps, and change theyr propriety (for example titanium backup Pro)
As always, i'm not responsable for any damage on your phone or data loss, take a nandroid backup first.
1) Switch from the system settings from gesture to navbar
2) Unistall as system app oneplus launcher. Is important that you unistal and not freeze; to do this you need root privileges
3) Reboot
4) download a version of oneplus launcher without the buggy interface. for example this https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/onepl...auncher-2-3-0-2-180928222207-6ee6566-release/
5) install it
6) with a root application convert oneplus launcher from user app to system app.
7) reboot
8) switch back from navbar to gesture
Now you have the old gesture system and no bug. :good:
EDIT of 9th November 2018:
Oneplus finally solves the bugs.
To solve the problems you just need to update (manually or from play store) the original launcher (OnePlus Launcher) to the latest version.
is it required to reinstall the OnePlus Launcher? Can't we just delete the buggy one and leave it like that?

What works for me is removing the stock OP launcher then the home and recents gestures don't work. Install OnePlus Launcher from the Play Store then reboot. After rebooting uninstall the OnePlus Launcher that you just installed from the Play Store. Then reboot again and the gestures will start working like they should. I did this on OB6 and 9.0.2 Stable pie and can confirm it works for me. I use Nova Launcher.
Ok thanks
Thanks for the solution

Already tried this and when i reboot to uninstall magisk the original version of OnePlus Launcher is back... Anyone with the same problem...?

By using lower version launcher, do we loose something? Personally im kot using stock launcher, using nova. But if the bug related to the launcher if we wull change it I think something will be missing. Gestures are working? New animations?

You don't need root for any of this. Install an old version of OnePlus launcher over current version and you get old gesture animations back and old recents.

Except it doesn't. You can't install older version on top of the newer version. You can't disable it hoping to uninstall the updates because the new version comes with the OS update itself, not via play store.

So mate, nothing is written ir your first post about what I've asked.
I tried this method. It helps those bugs are gone. But.... Older version of launcher removes new gestures swipe right for previous app, and design of recent tabs a bit changed in the latest launcher tabs were bigger. But its not a big deal, when annoying bugs are gone. Thanks

How do you clean the keyboard's data? I have the exact same issue as OP. Can it be done without flashing twrp? Installing twrp seems to break my system until I do a full restore over fastboot..
EDIT: Tried xxx no limits to add emojis, and the reserve_V1.zip magisk module in the thread you linked. Neither worked for me.
EDIT2: Nvm, the reserve module worked. Just had to wait
I installed magisk module from the thread mentioned above, text fixed but applications are broken.
You can error in the screenshot, both sound recorder and notes display the same error. Cleaning of their storage does not help.
Did someone manage to have working stock apps on OOS 10.3 & OnePlus 6?

Local re-install (+reflash TWRP and magisk) solved it, the emojis are back ! I still have one problem from the soft brick left over: When connecting the phone, normally an additional CD drive appears with the oneplus logo and the oneplus drivers. After the flash, nothinf. After the reinstallation, the CD drive was back but witout logo or drivers.
I found the drivers on the web (https://www.getdroidtips.com/download-oneplus-usb-drivers/), but after installing I still have some standard microsoft ones (date 21/06/2006, version 10.0.18362.1, Microsoft).
Could someone quickly check on your PC if those are the orrect ones ??
Thanks
