Help me decide which case to use! - Samsung Galaxy Note 9 Accessories

So I got 3 cases for the Note 9. Defender, Samsung rugged case, and Caseology Legion.
I'm torn between the Defender and Samsung case.
Which case do you think is better protection wise? Do you think the rugged case offers good drop protection even though it's thin? I do like the kickstand on it though.
Which would you choose? Defender or Samsung Rugged case?

I'm using the Samsung case. I need the kickstand, it's light and provided the 360 protection.

I'm currently rocking the Caseology Legion, and I'm loving it. I usually switch back and forth Spigen/Caseology when it comes to cases because they've provided enough protection to my phones. Legion provides plenty of protection if you don't want a bulky rugged case, does add a bit of bulk but not the kind you'd get from an Otter defender imo (which I've tried). So out of those 3 I'd definitely stick with the Legion, the rugged Samsung is too bulky and ugly imo.

samsung rugged case. it's not really that thin. it is very well designed. pretty light, too. you won't find a better fitting rugged case for this phone. kickstand is so useful.

You consider it a heavy duty case?

Yep! I usually prefer really thin cases but I feel that this case is the best balance between style, size and protection. May not meet OtterBox standards but also doesn't make your phone a brick

Spigen Tough armor has always been my go to case. Been using them ever since the Nexus 6p. I love my blue case with kickstand to go with my copper color exynos note.

Personally for protection and looks I like the Spigen Slim Armor the best. It's not very bulky, but still offers good protection. For good reviews and pictures take a look at the posts around this section. There are plenty of great reviews.
Ballistic aspira. Not too thick, but great protection. Love the colors too

I'm really liking my UAG Navigator in white:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=41548103
Spigen Neo Hybrid, Dante Red looks pretty sweet. Gets a little distorted from a wirelesss charging pad, but otherwise very nice looking.
I personally use 3 cases, the official Samsung Protective Cover+, Spigen Neo Hybrid and UAG Navigator! All 3 are slim protective cases!
Otterbox commuter has protected my S4 from several drops ranging from 3-5 feet onto various surfaces including concrete! Couldn't recommend anything else.
Really love my Spigen Slim Armor Cases. They are the best looking case I have ever used. I will probably get an Otterbox Commuter or Defender for Outdoor activities. I have used them on other phones and really liked them.
it depends if you want protective case and don't care if the phone become bulky or want non bulky phone and good protection.for the first option i recommend otterbox commuter. for the second option i recommend uag .
I personally prefer the otterbox as well.

If you like not being able to plug in headphones/chargers with the case on, go for the Spigen Neo Hybrid.
If you want the same protection, an OEM look, and wider ports that allow for plugging in with the case on, go for the OEM Samsung S4 Bumper Case.
You can find both (by copying & pasting the names I wrote) on Amazon.
I would wholeheartedly recommend the UAG case. It's the first case I look for when I buy a new phone.
To me, it's the perfect case.

I'm using the otterbox the commuter series, and liking it. Not too bulky.
So my Seidio Convert case for the S3 fits the S4 mostly.
You will have to cut the volume controls a bit if you want to use the inner plastic shell but I just skipped on it.
The rubber shell and exoskeleton together are enough to keep the phone in the case - even if a bit of wiggle is there - and you can use the volume and power buttons, the IR blaster is exposed and works well.
The headphones jack doesn't line up, but the power and camera do - so it'll do for a few days until I get this in:
http://www.amazon.com/Seidio-CSWSSG...TF8&qid=1379369652&sr=8-11&keywords=seidio+s4
I used to go for otterbox cases, but after getting my first Seidio case I will never, ever use an otterbox again.
The seidio convert case is far and away superior to the defender case from otterbox - the convert case has an inner plastic shell that slides together, instead of clipping together, and then the rubber shell goes over with a second plastic exoskeleton that keeps the rubber in place.
Not only that, but where the defender is basically a brick-type shape, the convert case is contoured and feels nice in your hand with it's rounded edges and ribbed sides.
They are about the same size when all is said and done, so i'd rather hold a convert then a defender.
That waterproof case is going to be the best decision I ever made for this device, I am sure of it.

I hate to admit it but the new Otterbox Defender is actually pretty nice. It seems slimmer than previous models and feels good in my hands.
I also like the color options now available. I found replacement frames and rubber sleeves on Amazon for like $5 each so I can mix up the colors. I have the Samsung wireless charging back on it which fits in the case and charges fine. The raised edges don't bother me like they did in previous models where they felt like they impeded my typing. I have to say I'm impressed with overall improvements to the case. I tried the Convert but prefer this. On top of all that, this like Seidio are quality built cases so you know proximity and gps etc...all work fine.
I have probably about 15 cases from thin to bumpers to bulky but this actually works pretty well for me. I've gotta calm down on the case venture!!! The Love Mei large case is on a shelf after the issues I experienced with it.
I need to have a phone case garage sale.

Rugged Case for Galaxy Note 4

I have the Galaxy Note 4, I love outdoor activities and I bring the Galaxy Note 4 with me always, I have the Rugged Case for Galaxy Note 4, i-Blason Armorbox Dual Layer Hybrid Full-body Protective Case to protect my phone from bumps and other accidental drop when I do some activities, and it serves me well, I wonder if what are other alternatives for it, I would love to have one but reluctant to buy other brands, any recommendation based on your personal experience?
Here is the one that I bought
, i-Blason Armorbox Dual Layer Hybrid Full-body Protective Case
Can anyone suggest me another one?

I dunno where you got that info from. I've had the defender on mine since day one and no problems with it at all.
I don't know how you guys can put such an ugly bulky case on something so beautiful. Trust me, I'm all about protection, I've never cracked a phone before (*knock on wood*) but I feel like putting something like this iBlason case or the traditional OtterBox just covers up the true beauty of the phone. I usually go with a Spigen case (good protection, yet not as bulky). This time around I'm going for the Ringke Slim case with a wrist strap.

I understand where you're coming from and I too find the Ringke slim case exceptional in terms of looks and minor protection. But after using it for a whole month, I finally caved in and ordered an Otterbox Defender. I just don't want to be afraid of damaging my phone. Being able to use it with an extra peace of mind is worth sacrificing the appearance in my opinion. After all, you can always take it out of the case and it'll still be the beautiful, slim phone you purchased. But each to their own, I can only speak for myself.

Is Tech Armor for rugged case a good buy?
I have the UAG and the Otterbox Defender for mine. I used a UAG on my Note 2 for 2 years and was completely satisfied and feel that it is a solid case. However, I like the amount of protection the Otterbox Defender gives and I also like the way it adds some bulk to the phone. It seems easier to hold.
That being said, it does not fit well in my pocket and I've actually started using a belt clip (included with the case) for the first time. The belt clip also doubles as a stand for your phone when you are charging it.

Multiple case buyers, which one do you like the best?

Seems that it's pretty common for people to buy multiple cases, so I was wondering which ones you've purchased and which one is your favorite?
I have 3 cases.....
Spigen Neo-Hybrid .....(Good looking, good edge protection, heart rate sensor very difficult to use)
UAG Aero .....(Great protection all around, uncomfortable to hold and bulky in pocket)
Diztronic TPU black .....(Bland, moderate protection, slim and feels good in the hands)
I have to say, I prefer the Diztronic. It's the lowest profile of the three, and is the most comfortable to hold. Of course it doesn't offer the good looks of the Spigen, or the ruggedness of the UAG, but it's the one I'm rolling with for now. I have a Samsung protective cover coming Monday, so I'll have to see how that one goes before declaring Diztronic the winner.

Cases I have or have tried:
Spigen Neo hybrid
Spigen Air cushioned bumper
Spigen Tough armor
Spigen Slim armor
Verus Iron shield
Verus Crystalmixx
Body glove satin tpu
Otterbox commuter
Caseology bumper frame
Slim armor for me. Most comfortable to hold, looks good, has kickstand and offers good protection. Not for everyone, but it for the bill for me. Between that and a Caseology carbon fiber bumper case.

I have 4 cases. Ringke fusion in clear, spigen capsule, terrapin tpu and just got the caseology tpu drop protection. I like the caseology most, just wish the buttons are covered then it would have been perfect for me. Don't really like bulky cases. Oh yeah I bought the spigen new Capella and end up returning it. That thing is too bulky and buttons are hard to press not to mention it scratch my phone, it was hard to get my phone in and out. Regret putting my phone in it.
I have two cases - the black Diztronic and a blue Samsung Protective Cover. I use the Samsung because: it looks better; it feels better in my hand; and the Diztronic tended to get oily fingerprints on it. I really like the Samsung case and will stick with it.

How is the caseology tpu as far as finish? Is it gloss or matte? Stiffer like the spigens or soft like a jelly cover? Thanks in advance.

I currently have:
Ringke Fusion
Spigen Capsule
Spigen Neo Hybrid
Spigen Slim Armour
I-Blason Unity Series case
Overall I think I like the Spigen Capsule the most. The grey color is nice and it's slim but offers decent protection. The Spigen Slim Armour is one if the thicker cases but feels great in the hand due to the sides being rounded off.I suspect my favorite case will be the Verus Iron Shield that just I ordered [emoji2]

It's glossy and has shimmer but not very obvious and yeah it's more stiff than the spigen capsule. Spigen capsule feels like rubber tpu while caseology feels like a little bit of hardness for a tpu. Both are great quality just depends of the persons preference I guess.
I have the red samsung protective case and I have to admit that it is excellent, the fit is perfect and in hand it feels perfect

I have the Spigen Tough Armor and love it.
I first brought spigen ultra hybrid mint. Switch to clear version after the mint part turn black. Then i brought blue jelly tpu and sold off clear ultra hybrid. Brought 0.3mm clear using it for long time. Sold off blue jelly.
Brought mercury skyblue jelly case. Use it one day dump into chute. Too sticky and slippery. Made note 4 sticky too. After abit of wiping back to 0.3 mm clear tpu.
So using 0.3mm clear tpu now.

I have 4 cases:
BodyGlove Satin: Decent case, good feel in the hands a bit bulkier than I like. It does have an excellent grip. Sometimes volume and power keys are hard to get to and the opening for the USB cable is too small. Some of my cords were "large" and bulged out the case.
Caseology Bumper frame, metallic mesh silver: Very bulky, looks great, just too big for my taste.
Diztronic TPU case: Great fit, feels good in the hands, although seems a bit too thin for me.
Samsung-Blue: Now this is my favorite. I get the slimness of the diztronic but feels a bit more rugged.
Hopefully this will end my case buying frenzy for a while
Ringke Slim - It used to be my daily driver. Really nice rubbery texture and is very slim.
Caseology TPU - Plastic, toy like feel. It bends really well and its slightly bulkier than the Ringke Slim.
J&D Slim - Slim as the Ringke but doesn't protect the top or bottom. It's slightly more slippy (not a strong grip) than the Ringke Slim.
Spigen Neo Hybrid - Offers great protection and nice metal buttons. Way too bulky for me to hold.
Bear Motion Ultra Slim - My daily driver. The most slim, minimal protection case that doesn't cover the top or bottom. The texture feels very similar to the OnePlus One Sandstone Black. Very smooth and soft texture. The case doesn't have that 'slippery' texture. I'm considering buying additional colors.
Spigen slim armor
Speck candyshell grip
Fake leather pouch for going case-less
All are good. I love going G case-less, but I'm usually too nervous and rough to always do that. Candyshell grip is an awesome daily driver. Probably the best all around. Slim armor looks great, but scratched metal edges and it's much bulkier.

Spigen Neo Hybrid
Spigen Tough Armor

[Q] are Spigen cases and SPs good?+ user experiance please read!

Hi, I have a very limited choice and they are:
Spigen Case Capsule
Spigen Case Tough Armor
Spigen Ultra Hybrid Case
Spigen Slim Armor Case (*)
Spigen Neo Hybrid Case
Spigen Thin Fit Case
SP:
Spigen Ultra Crystal Screen Guard
Spigen Crystal Hard Surface Screen Guard
Here are my questions:
I'm not buying these for protection at all, the reason i want to buy a case is i prefer to have a case when im outside (for some weird reasons i feel more comfortable with one outside )
and the reason i need screen protector is because my hands have so much friction to the screen! and btw the spigen kickstand sounds useful to me!
do you have any of these? do you like it?! (im basically asking for user experience)
Q1) Are any of those cases easy to take off? i plan to take it off once i arrive home! i don't want to scratch the metal of my note 4 and spend some time smashing it to take it off (and which of those are easy to take off?)
Q2) do the screen protectors help the friction? and do they bother the s-pen? i tried it on a note 2 with a random screen protector and it feels awful to work with, but those might be different!
I would go with the Neo Hybrid out your list. To me, it is the best looking case in you list. I've tried most of them. I don't think any of them are hard to take off.
The spigen crystal screen guards are good. I wouldnt say they would reduce friction, but they wont add to it. Spen is unchanged in funtionality.
The glass protector will produce a halo.

None of the cases scratch the metal. particles between the case and metal scratch the metal.
I have the Spigen Tough Armor.
Nice case, feels good in the pocket. Good protection, rubber corners and such. The buttons are a little hard to identify by feel alone, that's one complaint.
Second complaint is the kickstand - Not so great. It clicks into place and it's HARD to get it out with just your fingernail. Then once you get it out, it flops around so you have to kind of hold it in place while you prop up the phone... and any bump will flip it back closed and cause your phone to fall.

I'm gonna be getting a Galaxy Note 4 soon and I'm looking into getting a either a Spigen Tough Armor or Slim Armor case.
Spigen Neo Hybrid
I have a Spigen Neo Hybrid for my Note 4 and honestly, I am kind of disappointed. I had it for my Samsung S4 and Note 3 and absolutely love the case for those phones. Never had a problem.
Even though the it fits perfectly for the Note 4, the trim is beginning to have the paint fade and chip away (never had this problem with the S4 or Note 3).
Also, regarding the Spigen Neo Hybrid, it is cut so specifically that some aftermarket micro USB or headphone jacks might not fit.

edit: after a bit of using my screen protector no longer has friction! It has so much reflection but anyway i changed my mind now its smooth and good! It just needed to be used a little!

I HAVE BOTH. Tough Armor is a little thinker than the Slim Armor. They both protect very well. and the thickness is not noticeable. But if you the type that is a stickler for the slim of the phone, go with the slim armor.

Ok my order arrived today, Let me start with case: its bulky but awesome i love it! buttons are not that terrible but not great, doesn't bother me really, its weird but it makes heart rate sensor easier to use i love it in total, worth the money
(and as you said the kickstand isn't great, but it doesn't really matter much to me)
i also ordered a xionami mi power bank its awesome but super-heavy, anyway
the screen protector is awful, just terrible, i mean, it made me cry to install, after an hour i installed it (a bit miss aligned ) and it not only makes screen look awful, but also gives it even more friction! the only reason i didn't take it right of is money :S i will let it be there for a little bit just for test! and give the other one to a friend or something ! (and i regret applying the wet cloth to screen, realized it was alcohol soaked cloth and it probably damaged my screen s-pen feels aweful to use! its not accuracy but how it feels! i felt that it's damaging my nib so put the old already used nib i had! this was my first and last screen protector
I have the Spigen Tough Armor in gunmetal blue. It does a great job and it is a little bit slimmer than my Otterbox Defender, which I mainly use when I'm at work. Otherwise I use the Spigen when I'm at home or everywhere else but work when I want something less bulky at times.
Also you can't beat the kickstand that comes on the back of the tough armor.

That is quite disappointing, thanks for pointing that little defect out. I won't be getting a Spigen Neo Hybrid case for my Note 4, when I get it.

Spigen has released the metal version which is made of aluminium and won't lose paint.

Yeah, I've seen that online. But Spigen's Neo Hybrid Line of cases don't seem to offer as much protection as their Slim and Tough Armor line of cases does.
I have the neo hybrid metal, it's awesome. ?

Armor series are as tough as the name! Hybrids are less tough and more slim and handy.

Otterbox Defender vs Samsung Rugged case. which is better?

So yea, I got both cases. I just had the Caseology Legion case and Samsung Rugged case to start but I decided to get the Defender right after I got my phone because while the rugged case feels good it just didn't feel like it would have good drop protection due to the sides of the case being pretty low and the lip not as pronounced as the Defender.
The reviews on Amazon for the Note 8 rugged case had some bad reviews about screens shattering from falls.
Which would you trust for protection more? The Defender to me feels a lot more protective.
The defender is definitely a bit more protective but you're still going to run into problems if the phone happens to land on the exposed edges of the infinity display. A tempered glass will help of course but the curved screen is inherently more vulnerable than a flat one and that's just how it is.

The otterbox is great, but it is way too thicker to me.
I don't use the belt clip.
I got one free from a company, satisfied.

I will add holding the Defender makes it easier to grip the phone and type faster too. Being used to that case for years and trying the Samsung case which is thin felt really awkward to type with.

I agree. Now if the Note 9 was designed like the Note 5 and earlier that was wider this wouldn't be an issue with the rugged case but these narrow phones I need a thick case like the Defender, or Monarch. The ArmadilloTek case is thinner bit still makes it fairly easy to use the phone.
I considered the defender but opted out, seemed to bulky for me. Coming from the spigen thin fit I new I needed a bit mode protection and found it with the commuter. Otterbox nailed it with this one. Feel is excellent.

I appreciate Samsung making the N9 display just a tiny bit wider than the N8 but still, I'd prefer the dimensions of the N5 or just something more wider than what we have now.
