[Q] X10 AirPad - Does anyone know of an app to dismount USB host port mass storage

As I understand it, the device would recognize a flash drive
but the system software doesn't explicitly know that the USB A
host port can hold removable storage, so it needs to be manually
unmounted. I figured worst case I could use ADB or terminal shell
commands to sync and umount?
thanks

otg usb write access

OK, I've been able to connect my USB drive to my phone and view movies and files, but today I wanted to write to it and it says permission not supported. I use stickmount and ntfs mounter to mount and have tried es file explorer and astro. Neither will let me transfer files to USB... I have had the sdfix installed forever now, and I can write to my SD card, but just won't let me write to USB through org cable... Any help?
The only USB drives I've been able to use OTG with the M8 are flash drives (which don't require external power). Are you using something that needs power?
I've used powered and an unpowered western digital my passport 2tb harddrives and been able to watch movies off them even in ntfs format, but my ntfs USB flash drive will only read, no write at all... I'm going to try formatting it back to fat 32 and see if I can write to it when I get home. I thought i wrote to it before, but i recently formatted it to ntfs to put a movie on it... I'll post back tomorrow.

How to access a datatraveler encrypted flash drive from my android phone?

I have an encrypted Kingston datatraveler USB flash drive. To access one of these you have to run the program on the drive (Windows software) to open the "vault". I'm wondering if there is a way to access this drive via OTG on my Galaxy s5. No nefarious purposes here--I would just like to use the flash drive. I don't want to get around the security, I want to keep that. I'm sure I could connect it to a Windows PC and get at it via Wifi, but I'm positing a case in which I have only the OTG cable, the flash drive, and my phone.

microSD vid-pid 0000-0000 usb OTG vid-pid 0000-0000 mount PATH conflict?

I was using my S7 Edge with Sony microSD and was able to mount all of my usb flash drives via usb OTG, but now because I switched to a new samsung 64GB EVO microSD which is mounted at /storage/0000-0000, I am unable to mount some usb flash drives for which the pid-vid is also 0000-0000 (or at least that's how the phone recognises it).
(I know this because my previous Sony microSD had some normal pid-vid numbers and the flash drive I now cant access was mounting at /storage/0000-0000, where my current microSD is mounted)
Are there any tech-savvy people who might instruct me what to do in this situation?
