Basically what the title says, also the location would be India
if purchased from google - no they give you instructions on unlocking BL for flashing fact images
if purchased from another vendor you need to check with them - but id assume they'd follow googles footsteps.

I just sent in a defective Pixel 3 (non XL) for it not recognizing my sim card on day 1 of receiving it, so I never got to the point of going through with the Magisk root exploit and going further.
The first thing the rep on the phone asked me if I had rooted it. I said no and we moved on to shipping a replacement. I actually bought two during the BOGO 1/2 off sale last week and unlocked and rooted the first one  I'd be careful on what you say.

No, I bought two of them. The first worked flawless and allowed me to unlock the bootloader via ADB and flash Magisk to gain root access (also flashed TWRP).
The second phone refused to detect the previous nano sim card so I sent it in for a replacement as it was defective. The rep on the phone was asking me if I rooted or messed with the phone, which I did not since it never detected my sim.

For one, the phone wasn't rooted yet. For two, I wasn't going to take the chance of having the rep tell me to buzz off! :good:

I posted this to the wrong board, sorry for those who have seen my question before.
I bought the SGS 4G over a year ago now, and I sucessfully rooted and unlocked the phone for use in Korea. During that time i kies'd my way up to Gingerbread which made me lose root, but it was still unlocked. I recently upgraded phones and was looking to sell my current Galaxy 4G. Since I didn't want my google account attached to the phone I stupidly reset the phone back to factory default. It told me that it wouldn't revert back to froyo so I thought I would be safe.
Is the phone now re-locked back to the Canadian telecom company it was originally bought from? Could a Korean use their SIM just like I have been doing? Since my new phone has micro-SIM I can't test this myself.
Also, if indeed it IS re-locked is it possible to unlock it without using my google account to redownload the unlocking app I used.
Thanks everyone.

I'm pretty sure once unlocked, always unlocked. There is a phone number command to type to see the status, you can google to find it, I can't remember.

You can now use the unlock code when you put in the non-T-Mobile sim into your phone and unlock your phone. You can check the unlock status by dialling *#7465625#. All the locks should say "OFF".

You'll need to be on a stock BML rom to be able to check since I haven't ever been able to check using an MTD rom.
I read the threads related to LG G5 from buyspry seller. Sadly I cannot revert the order I made on ebay I need to need few important things(to me) as I will be stuck with this Phone. I live in Bangladesh so I definitely cannot use it w/o SIM UNLOCKED.
I have known that If I upgrade or downgrade I will lose SIM UNLOCK.
Also I cannot root (till now) as it requires downgrade.
And I will be stuck with firmware it came in from the seller.
But still , Here are the things I really need to know :
1. If I compromise myself to use that firmware 20i_un (UNLOCKED) forever it comes from seller & do no modifications will the Phone be perfectly fine?
2. Does that awkward firmware gives or will give any OTA update? Cause if it gives and that accidentally gets installed I am screwed with a T-Mobile Locked device.
3. I will use my local GSM SIM , Will I be able to use Portable Hotspot with that ROM? (I couldn't, with my G2 At&t Unlocked stock At&t ROM)
4. Apart from any upgrade/downgrade(ROM flashing) is there any way I might lose UNLOCK???
Please guys, please do help me with these topics. I just recently damaged my LG G2 and lost a phone Xiaomi MI 4 (Mugged) I really am screwed

1) Probably.
2) Probably not.
3) No idea. You'd have to discuss that with your carrier.
4) Probably not, but it's still not clear how they achieved unlock via the ROM so who knows?

You lose unlock if you ever update or do anything to the ROM. Phone is garbage unless you're on Tmobile. Obviously you are going to want to update it eventually because it's assumed that LG will be issuing an official Oreo update.
I bought the device and reverted it to official firmware. With a few (lengthy) calls to Tmobile I eventually got them to white list my device for the Sim unlock app to work. I was first told that it was impossible for them to do because it wasn't a Tmobile device, meaning not purchased through tmobile (not sure how buyspry got them, maybe corporate wholesale or something).
I sent a bunch of photos to them showing the box and other tmobile documentation that came with the phone. They agreed to unlock it and after about a week's wait while tech support was working out the specifics, the app successfully unlocked it.
I am on tmobile but told them I preferred to have it unlocked if necessary for international travel.
So yeah, long story short if you're not on tmobile and have no way to get tmobile to officially unlock it return the device. Complain to eBay that the device had hacked firmware or whatever (which is 100% true) and they will let you return it.

Hi I bought a phone from EE, in Dev options I can see that OEM unlock is disabled. Does that mean I have to wait 6 month's for EE to revive SIM lock in order to unlock bootloader and root phone?
Just checked my EE Pixel 2. The wording of the 'OEM unlocking' option is 'Unavailable on mobile-locked devices' so I would guess that that is indeed the case.
If you read EE terms and conditions, the 1st 6 months EE own the device under contract. You will need to wait 6 months before you can request unlock code or server side activation. Is this what you want to query? or are you looking to root the device and install custom roms?
I am sure you could source a unlock early if you know where to look on the net

I'm trying to find solution for SIM unlocking but I cannot find
If you have any suggestion please share
The way around this is to RMA your phone and Google will replace your carrier locked phone with an unlocked version.

Dont think this is the option in my case.
I bought my phone on Amazon and I live in couny where Google doesnt sell Pixel 2 phones.
For me, i think, the only option is EE Unlock sim code.
I have't tryied this butA EE has option for second hand buyers, to unlock phone. You need to call nuber...... and follow their instruction.

Hi Stea1th,
Will this actually work? I received my Pixel 2 yesterday as a contract upgrade from EE but because it's carrier locked to them I can't unlock the bootloader :crying:
Also do you know where the online form is to RMA it? The link that google has put in their warranty page to start the RMA process literally loops you back to the same instructional page
Thanks

Hi
Sorry for the rather late reply.
4 years too late!
Hope you got everything sorted.
I got my OP7Pro yesterday and it updated overnight to 9.5.5 and I'm curious if there are any ways to root this on the US T-Mobile version... Also, I'm very new to rooting as I've only ever rooted 1 tablet using kingo root.....My last curiosity is what are the chances of getting 1-click method support for this model and version?

Have you SIM unlocked yet? You typically can't if you haven't yet paid the device off, and in addition, you must have had the device for 40 days...HOWEVER...many people, myself included, have lucked out in talking to a rep via T-Mobile Help on Twitter, and have been granted a SIM unlock! Then, you must unlock your bootloader by obtaining an unlock .bin from OnePlus. I'm waiting for their website to be updated with the method to obtain it for the OP 7 Pro, like it was for the 6T.

After reading things and figured out that I need it unlocked I decided to message T-Mobile on Facebook, I'm an ex employee and I usually get what I want because I speak their language so I'm hoping I get it
Awesome! Best of luck
Hello fellas, I bought my TMobile Oneplus 7 pro on a payment plan yesterday. I already have it bootloader unlocked, rooted and twrp installed, volte works, Netflix works(480p). Running an international version OOS 9.5.11. My question is..... Since i already did all that, can I sim unlock it in the future, after 40 days, without having to revert back to stock tmobile?
As far as I know, you only have to wait 3 days to request a permanent sim unlock. @mobbdeep can do it for you with just the account holders last name and the phone number the OP7 Pro is currently on. You will need the T-Mobile "unlock" app so you can select "Permanent Unlock" in the app though, so you *may* need to temporarily reflash stock for that, but if you ask around, someone might be able to pull the apk from theirs for you to try on international.
Also out of curiosity, how well does T-Mobile service work on the international ROM? I've been thinking of converting mine and buying a dual sim tray since mine is unlocked.

If you're already on the international firmware and have stuff flashed, you will need to revert back to the stock T-Mobile firmware in order to truly unlock your SIM. If you try downloading the Device Unlock app via Play Store or APK, it will give an invalid network unlock reading. If you have a T-Mobile OnePlus 7 Pro, PM me your phone number and the last name of the account holder of your T-Mobile account and I can unlock your phone in seconds. You can then use the Device Unlock app to unlock your SIM then flash the international firmware if you'd like.. that is what I did myself.
Anyway, the international version firmware is good but there's no significant difference except it's used to unlock your device but not your SIM. I have SmurfKernel and xXx NoLimits ROM module installed and my device performance has increased greatly.
