is there anyone with HTC u12+ on tmobile Us Verizone and Att with working wifi calling and volte who could share their default.xml file from system/customize/Acc and map_mns.xml system/customize and also all xml files from system/customize/mns trying to make wifi calling and volte on any htc u12+ or htc u11+
link to my thread
https://forum.xda-developers.com/u12-plus/how-to/wi-fi-calling-volte-t3867267
thanks for any help
The HTC u12+ for Verizon only has LTE capabilities. So all calls are by default VoLTE. However, WiFi Calling is a no go. It would be awesome if we could get that to work.
The files you need, do they contain any sensitive information about the phone? If not, I could grab you all the ones from my Verizon HTC u12+

hi mate i did check yours files and edited them according default.xml from verizon branded htc 10
can you do backup of your default.xml from system/customize/acc
then delete and copy attached one in
to copy that you need place on sdcard then boot twrp and use file manager built in adavanced settings and paste in system/customize/acc
then reboot your phone and let me know if you got wifi calling and volte working
you should be able see options under call settings and volte icon and wifi calling icon in statusbar
let me know if works
regards

WiFi calling did not work. All options were there, it let me uncheck and check, but when I went to make a call it wanted me to turn off airplane mode and wait for a mobile network to be available. and form the screenshot above, there is no mobile data.
Is there a way you can just edit the wifi calling stuff and not mess with the VoLTE. VoLTE is by default already on the phone through verizon
this is also what it shows as default from Verizon
just need to be able to enable the video and wifi calling

Tried those files and this is what I have.
The video calling and WiFi calling are turned on under phone information
When going to phone > call > settings I cannot enable the WiFi calling in there. If I click it like 5 times, then it is enabled but it will turn off the time I back out the menu. Also it will not let me choose the preferred calling over WiFi vs Mobile network when it is enabled

My daughter has an unlocked HTC A9 that just got an Android 7.0 update 2 days ago. Our carrier is T-Mobile USA and when the phone had Android 6.0.1, it had VoLTE and Wi-Fi Calling features working extremely well. Now after Android 7.0 upgrade these 2 particular features are gone from the software.
Can someone with an unlocked HTC A9 on T-Mobile USA check if their VoLTE and Wi-Fi Calling options are missing as well after Nougat upgrade? Thanks in advance.

I did have the option in settings to switch VoLTE on or off, and it does seem to be missing here. If you want to know if it is on or off, go to phone and dial *#*#4636#*#* and click on phone information. Scroll down until you see either turn off volte provisioned flag or turn on volte provisioned flag. If it says turn off volte provisioned flag that means VoLTE is on. For the Wi-Fi calling, there is an option in settings for it I believe. Go to the call tab under setting and scroll all the way down to calling accounts. In that part of settings there is settings for "internet calling". Not sure if this is what you are looking for but this is what I found
Hope it helps, and good luck

I have an HTC A9 (oem unlocked), on T-Mobile USA.
VoLTE and Wi-Fi was not enabled by default until I manually forgot and reconnected to my Wi-Fi network. Afterwards, I went to settings, Call, and scrolled all the way down. There's a new section called "Enhanced Call Service" and VoLTE and WiFi Calling are now options available.

So I deleted/"forgot" all of the Wi-Fi networks. Rebooted the phone. And still no Enhanced Services with VoLTE and Wi-Fi calling area under Settings --> Call. next step would be to do a factory reset and see if that helps.

I'm having the same issue. I'm wondering where the Wi-fi Calling feature is. I have the US Unlocked/Dev edition and the "Wi-fi Calling" tab isn't under "Mobile Data" like it was on 6.0.1 .
I have the unlocked a9 on tmobile and everything worked well immediately after updating.
I have yet to make an actual call over wifi on nougat but sms worked fine and volte certainly works.
The only strange thing is the lte indicator seems to be the verizon one
Perhaps you should try taking the sim out, restarting, putting the sim back in and see if that makes the phone recognise it needs to use tmo settings?

I have Galaxy S8 plus G955U1 unlocked version using verizon network and I would like to know if there is any way to have WiFi-Calling working on my device? I have VoLTE but wifi calling is disabled and my phone still has premium care warranty and I do not want Root or flashing rom due to the fact I do not want to mess with my phone. Yea I can see video calling options on my dialer but I have not tested it if it works, you need to call someone from verizon that has video call also...
If you download "Messages+" app from verizon you can use that app and make txt and mms messages even without signal as long as there is wifi I just found that out today. i tried to put on airplane mode but I was able to make text through that verizon messaging app.
I really need wifi-calling activated badly let me know if you have some news

Why not just call tech support and have them reprovision your line? There is some settings that need to be reset on their end.
The only way it will work that I know of is to flash the VZW U version. Believe me I've tried everything and this will also give visual voicemail as well.

I got my S8+ (Canadian model G955W) and it was originally with another carrier. I couldn't enable WiFi calling and some other carrier specific stuff did not work. What I did was change the CSC to the carrier I am with. CSC's are responsible for a lot of things, like the quick toggles in notification panel, WiFi calling settings, MMS size limits, etc. You can check the contents of the CSC files at /system/csc/
I suggest you try flashing CSC from a Verizon stock ROM, and then using the following code in the "Dialer" app to switch the CSC: *#272*[device imei]*
Example: *#272*355154154163115*
You should get a screen like the screenshot I attached, which will let your select your CSC.
BACK UP YOUR STUFF WITH SMARTSWITCH OR SAMSUNG CLOUD AS IT WILL DO A FACTORY RESET AND INSTALL THE CORRECT CSC CONFIGURATION!!!
EDIT: Here is the correct CSC pulled from the latest Verizon firmware (G955USQU1AQK3, Nov. 8). Try flashing it with ODIN and let us know if it works after configuring CSC with the dialer code! LINK: https://drive.google.com/open?id=13xboPjVTDuWBqL2jj4bzQiFi-VVSJ3Xj
Hey,
for about a month I've been having problems with calls going directly to the voicemail and not reaching me. I use 4g cause 3g has very bad connection where I live.
Now I am almost 100% sure there was a VoLTE option that I could check/uncheck in the mobile network options, but it seems it has disappeared.
Is there a way to disable VoLTE? Cause I read my problem comes from having it enabled, but now that the option is gone, I can't disable.
Phone is European version, I didn't flash anything or so, 100% stock

The APN I can only choose one, which is the correct one.
The carrier, there might be something about this. Recently my service provider merged with another, but I can only use one it seems. See the picture attached. Also thanks again .
Edit: When I searched for a carrier manually the first time, there was no 4G E-Plus. There was only 3g. Does this tell us something?
I use FRD-AL10,..Does it support VolTE?
Hi Dev’s,
I update my MIA1 to android oreo. When I search for Wi-Fi calling feature in settings, I notice that it is displayed. However when I click on Wi-Fi calling setting, It doesn’t dispaly under the Advanced Wifi settings.
My carrier supports Wi-Fi calling feature and I have it enables on my number. When I place the sim card in a iPhone, Wi-Fi calling works flawlessly. However it is not working in Mi A1 android oreo build.
Please can anyone help me get the setting activated on my mobile. I tried resetting the phone to factory settings, but I still don’t have the setting enabled.

WiFi calling isn't available at any TSP. ( In india)
I once tried to call someone when connected to WiFi. There was a pop up to enable wifi calling. I enabled it from there. Since then it didn't appear again. Also I can't test whether it's working because my carrier doesn't support wifi calling
Trying to test the feature before I go overseas. Wifi calling is enabled, HD voice/advanced calling enabled. When I check the hidden menu in *#*#4636#*#* everything is checked.
I turn on airplane mode and enable wifi. When I try to make a call, the dialer says "turn off airplane mode or connect to a wireless network to make a call". I am connected to Wifi though and signal strength is solid. What is the problem?

I am aware of that guide for ADB. However that is for preferred WiFi calling when both cellular and WiFi are available. It shouldn't help when I'm in airplane mode.

Had same problem with Verizon Wifi calling, fixed it
I had the same problem on my OG 2016 Pixel (rooted) running stock 7.1.2 ROM on VZW, but now fixed - here are the steps:
1. Open Testing Menu (dial *#*#4636#*#* on dialpad).
2. tap the "Phone information" menu.
3. Toggle on the "VoLTE Provisioned" slider (this was toggled off by default on mine). (Also make sure "Wifi Calling Provisioned" is toggled on.)
4. Using the Quicksettings dropdown menu, toggle Airplane Mode.
5. IMPORTANT NOTE - When I tried the 1st time it didn't work because entering Airplane Mode greyed out Wifi icon and disabled all Wifi connections (and data icon showed "no service"), even though Wifi was previously toggled on.
6. To remedy this, drop down your Quicksettings menu again and simply touch the Wifi connections shortcut, wait a couple seconds and all Wifi connections will repopulate, and default Wifi connection should re-connect.
7. Now hit the back button to the Quicksettings dropdown menu, wait another couple seconds and the data icon should change to "Verizon Wireless Wi-Fi Calling" - Wifi calling should now work

I appreciate the suggestion. I had tried toggling all those options previously but I did it again per your instructions. It did not work.
My quicksettings text goes from "Verizon Wireless" to "Airplane mode" when it is enabled. Then when I put WiFi back on it goes BLANK. It does not say "Verizon Wireless WiFi Calling" like yours did. Any ideas?
I don't understand. I have a cellular signal and my wifi calling just stays on. All I did was change 2 values in the Database.

Yes thanks, I already established I am not trying to get it to stay on all the time.

I guess I never caught that fact. Mine doesn't stay on all the time. But, as soon as I walk in my house it pops on. My wife has an S7 and I can't get hers to work unless I turn the cellular off. Evidently Samsung does not have the same settings database.

Perhaps a local router misconfiguration?

I've heard that a local Wi-Fi router mis-configuration may be the reason Wi-fi calling fails in some instances.
I would test it out on a different router, or have someone with a known good Wi-fi calling phone setup test on your router to eliminate that possibility.
I've also heard that Wi-fi calling breaks when upgrading to Oreo for some folks. Curious what Android version you're running?

Hmm, I will give that a shot next time I can. All my tests have been on my home wifi.
And yes I am running the latest stock update, 8.1.0

You rooted? Don't know if that really matters but, I had use adb to edit the settings database. I never could get it to work till I did that. No root needed. Just Google wifi calling preferred ADB.

2 settings need to be changed I forgot but I think one is to prefer wifi and the other is to make wifi the preferred roaming method.

It will work on pixels if the carrier has wifi calling and your provisioned for it. The menus are different on other phones.

Ps-my wife's S7 has it enabled. I think they do that crap of " we allow it if you get the phone from us and it happens to be a model.we support".

It's not provisioned for VOLTE so wifi calling won't work. If you talk real nice to someone at customer service they might do it for you.

Thanks. I'll go to a location and try.
I ran into the same issue, possibly after Magisk install on custom RR Rom (Marlin/Latest April Oreo build). It had worked one time but I guess installing Magisk was the most recent change I could think of after which it stopped working with the error message reported by OP. Anyways the only thing that worked was to do a "Network Setting Reset" , then setup Wifi (Airplane mode on) again and Wifi Calling settings back to On with Wi-Fi preferred.
Note: Also in "Mobile Network" in Settings, need to ensure "Roaming/Connect to data services when roaming" option is selected for the "Wifi Preferred" option to stick.
