Hi guy, anybody has this experience?
My home screen wallpaper gets a brownish colour. Even I change the theme or wallpaper or restart the phone it seems there is a transparent brownish overlay. Icons are okay any App is in original colour only the wallpaper has this miscolour. Is there any hidden function I have accidentally activated?

Sorry, I stay in the forest and can't see the trees. System? You mean Settings > Display...?
Edit: get it, noob fault. Effect Selection on my launcher has changed.
Thanks for help.

Hi all, I've installed a wallpaper using HDWall and now whenever I turn on my phone and it shows the rainy animation (wiping water off the screen) it shows it on a black background that covers my wallpaper until it has faded.
The top and bottom bars are transparent, so I can still see my wallpaper at the edges.
On the weather page itself the animation does not create a black screen behind it, it just wipes my actual wallpaper.
Does anyone have any ideas how I might resolve this or make it work like the weather page?
Thanks!
I have the same problem.
using stock rom 1.66.
Is it normal for the bottom of the screen to be darker../have sort of a darkish shadow around the home and back buttons on screen.. I noticed it alot on the default wall paper when my phone is at the lock screen right below the ^ and camera icons
Thanks

Any way to remove it? Unticking the remove shadows on nova settings does nothing.

The shadows are by 4.4 design. Before you just had the black background of the navigationbar

Yeah, I am aware that they're there by design. But I was trying to remove them... They certainly don't look bad.

No possibility to remove them. Wait for an custom rom with transparent bar support like in older 4.3 builds (I used transparent bas already long time ago with custom roms on the GNex without any shadow) and you will be able to remove them. Or you just use a launcher without transparent 4.4. support and the bars will be black again.
I know it's the gradient fading in of the notification bar, and it's just on the home screen...is there anyway to disable it?
Change your theme or wallpaper. Problem solved.

Obviously, but I would like to keep a dark wallpaper and stock theme. That's why I'm asking.
I've had the same issue! It's horrible as the gradient isn't even that smooth.
I tried Nova Launcher and it still did it. Changing theme didn't seem to fix it.
The fact that it goes away on every other screen makes me think it should be able to be disabled...maybe with package disabler, but I don't want to blindly disable stuff and mess something up.
I've only found a few similar things online for this, but it seems Samsung dump some stupid fade effect on the notification bar. I wish I could turn it off. Or force a proper transparent bar on the home screen

It happened to me also. I am using nova launcher. Apply the theme again, than apply the wallpaper and choose to apply on both scrern and lockscreen. Then you can choose whatever you want for the lockscreen again.
So recently i started to notice that in my home screen (touchwiz or other launchers) at the top of the screen there is some grey lines it is best visible if i use a black wallpaper and set the brightness to the maximum. This doesn't show anywhere except on the home screen. I tried other wallpapers, and if i look at it in the gallery or turn on ultra power saving mode there is no grey lines.(my device is galaxy s6)
Does anyone know what it is? Or how to fix it?
(i hope you guys can understand me sry for my english)
So, if you switch to your pictures and images gallery, the lines disappear?
Did you drop your device on the floor or did it incurred any damages lately?

It's a common issue. It's stupid Touchwiz/Samsung system which creates a small overlay at the top of Homescreens (any launchers) & lockscreens. In gallery etc, it's perfectly black since no overlay.
I don't think there is a fix. U can use a slightly greyish instead of full black wallpaper. It's not a big problem though
Oh i understand. Thank you for help. I was thought my phone has a problem.
Sometimes the grey lines can appear in Samsung mobiles if you use a bad launcher or a theme which is not compatible with the phone. You can try updating to a new version and see if fixes the problem, or use a light gray wallpaper as already suggested. Another couple of things to try... take a screenshot of your phone and test it on your laptop to see if the lines are still there. If not then it could be a problem with the screen itself. It's also worth restarting your phone in Safe Mode as this mode only runs with pre-installed apps. If you don't see the lines then an app could be your culprit
I actually love the 12.2.4 update (I knew what I was getting into and was fine using the poco launcher). But I have this issue where the status bar is black sometimes and the gesture indicator has this annoying white bar behind it that really looks ugly... (see screenshot) Do I have to uninstall other launchers? Or should I reset poco launcher?
[E] After uninstalling nova launcher it was gone, but now it's back
The status bar is black since miui 12, if you have a bright background. I don't know who is the brilliant developer, that thought this is a good idea.
Try changing the background, or try the settings under "more dark mode options" - "adjust wallpaper to dark mode" with ON and OFF.
I have a blue background, which also turns the status bar black, if I turn the mentioned setting off.

Thx for the suggestion! But I don't use dark mode at all. It also turns dark when I'm on light mode and I get that ugly bar behind the gesture indicator at the bottom.
I think it has something to do with display size setting in accessibility (or DPI). When I use display size S or XS, I don't have the issue only with L or when I set DPI lower than 392 (which is stock).. But why!?
[e] upon further testing I found out that it's a combination of setting DPI below 392 and the wallpaper... Maybe it's because of the colors in the wallpaper or the size or I don't know but certain (scrolling) wallpapers in combination with low DPI produce this bug with gesture indicator and status bar color pretty sure it has to do with bright/dark color but not sure. Weird stuff, but it seems like I fixed it.
