grey lines at top of the screen with pure black wallpaper - Galaxy S6 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

So recently i started to notice that in my home screen (touchwiz or other launchers) at the top of the screen there is some grey lines it is best visible if i use a black wallpaper and set the brightness to the maximum. This doesn't show anywhere except on the home screen. I tried other wallpapers, and if i look at it in the gallery or turn on ultra power saving mode there is no grey lines.(my device is galaxy s6)
Does anyone know what it is? Or how to fix it?
(i hope you guys can understand me sry for my english)

So, if you switch to your pictures and images gallery, the lines disappear?
Did you drop your device on the floor or did it incurred any damages lately?

It's a common issue. It's stupid Touchwiz/Samsung system which creates a small overlay at the top of Homescreens (any launchers) & lockscreens. In gallery etc, it's perfectly black since no overlay.
I don't think there is a fix. U can use a slightly greyish instead of full black wallpaper. It's not a big problem though

Oh i understand. Thank you for help. I was thought my phone has a problem.

Sometimes the grey lines can appear in Samsung mobiles if you use a bad launcher or a theme which is not compatible with the phone. You can try updating to a new version and see if fixes the problem, or use a light gray wallpaper as already suggested. Another couple of things to try... take a screenshot of your phone and test it on your laptop to see if the lines are still there. If not then it could be a problem with the screen itself. It's also worth restarting your phone in Safe Mode as this mode only runs with pre-installed apps. If you don't see the lines then an app could be your culprit

Major Screen Problems

Hey guys I've noticed a screen problem with my Samsung Galaxy S6. On my phone I can only detect it when using a black background/any image that is black. So I was swiping through my homescreen, and noticed a a color shift that would cover the sides of the icons. As I swiped back and forth through the different screens. I figured it was maybe the launcher I was using(I'm using nova launcher prime beta). So I switched back to the regular Samsung launcher and experienced the same problem. It's not a big deal but I think I'm going to get it replaced.

Actually I think I have the same issue. It particularly shows when scrolling in apps with dark (black) elements which border to another dark - but not black - (e.g grey) element.
For example in the 'relay for reddit' app with the night OLED skin enabled. The usual list background is black, while already visited links have a greyish background. if you scroll through the list, you notice that color shifting. I just did a quick video to demonstrate the issue. It is very difficult to see there though .

Is that a singular issue which would be solved by a replacement or is it a general problem? As this issue only is visible when black pixels become lit I assume it is a general AMOLED issue :-/

[Completed] Gray Bar shows on top of Galaxy S7 screen when black wallpaper is applied

I have a Samsung Galaxy S7 and whenever I have a black wallpaper applied I get a gray bar on the top of my screen that only shows on the home screen, lock screen, and recent apps page. It is highly visible when the brightness is set to anything below 30-40% but fades away as brightness increases. It does not show up when I use a wallpaper of any other color, it does not show up in apps that have black wallpapers or games that have black backgrounds, and a factory reset has not resolved the issue. I am hoping someone could just tell me what is happening. Thank you for your time.

Transparent Bar At Top of Screen

Just got an S7 about a month ago, and it's all been smooth-sailing until this morning.
I was browsing through my gallery when I noticed a transparent bar at the top of the screen, where the Status Bar usually is (The Status Bar is hidden in the Gallery app when viewing pictures). This bar is consistent throughtout all apps on the phone, including on the home screen, and the notification bar. It's a different shade to the rest of the phone, with the look of the image "behind" the bar being distinctly different from that of the rest of the screen. I really don't know how to describe it. This is driving me crazy, because it's a new phone and I'm not sure if this is issue is software-related (an overlay of some sort) or a problem with the actual screen.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
PS: The phone has been dropped once, but it wasn't major enough to cause something like this to happen (I think).
EDIT: The transparent bar is exactly the same size as the status bar.
Sounds like burn-in, nothing you can do other than replace the screen
Happens to Amoled screens when you leave the same image in the same place on the screen for extended lengths of time / high brightness
It's what screensavers were designed for PCs back in the days of green screens
Sounds an awful lot like what happened to my moms phone recently and it took me a few minutes to figure it out. Maybe you accidentally took a screenshot and made that your wallpaper. So see if changing the wallpaper makes it go away.

Screen problem ? Need help

Hello. I would like to share my problem with you. I own a galaxy s8 +, like many of you)
And I was faced with this fact. When I put a dark or black background on the main screen of my smartphone, I get a visible light at the top of the screen. It can be seen clearly in a dark room. Below I will attach a screenshot. But that's the thing, this light is only visible on the main home screen. In the screen verification app, on a black background, I do not observe this problem.
I want to say that the light at the top of the screen is only observed on the main screen of the phone. When viewing images or elsewhere this is not observed
What can be wrong ??

Oneplus launcher with google feed?

I have asked in the original thread how to fix this issue since December but no one has replied. Does anyone know how to fix this issue with the modified launcher? The white Halo appears after a reboot. It goes away once you update the launcher and uninstall. The yellow screen in the settings never goes away.
Never seen something like that sorry

I tried to make my screen look like yours and was not able to get it exactly the same...but I wonder if you have a certain combination of conflicting settings going on here? When you go to settings > system > Accessibility... there are two settings in here called Color correction, and Color inversion. Using these with a light, or dark theme and having night mode with a manual screen color calibration under the display settings could render your screen yellow. Is it only the settings screen that is that yellow or is there any other "white" screens that look yellow? Also, the highlight color can be changed to whatever you want which would make the lettering red as it is on your settings screen. So, my suggestion would be to go through all these various settings to see if somehow things got all screwed up. YMMV
