First off I have no intention at all of taking over this project. Wanted to share this working build without hijacking someone elses thread. Based on the original work of @squid2 for Perry and @SeanStar for Owens I have fixed/tweaked a few things so you all can keep your devices running up to date and stable. It will work even after the taking latest stock ota updates or flashing the latest firmware. I'll keep this updated at least once a month until hopefully the original dev releases something better.
Known working:
Booting
Graphics and video playback
RIL
Connecting to GSM (not for XT1766 which is CDMA only) and CDMA networks, calls, and data (LTE, 3G) (Supporting US and Canada carriers only)
Fingerprint sensor (Sprint models don't have this)
Camera
Audio
WiFi
Sensors
GPS
FM Radio
Untested or possibly broken
CM Actions removed
Changelog:
Code:
11-17-2018-
-All audio now working.
-Fixed cdma data/LTE. Works on first boot without any additional fixes.
-Added missing firmware symlinks to fix data after latest stock radio updates.
-Added correct device specific power_profile.xml.
-Changed governor settings to closer reflect stock values and balance out performance and battery life.
-Probably a few other things I'm forgetting.
11-19-2018-
-FM Radio really fixed now

Trying. It's a good phone. Don't want to see everyone abandon it and go by a new one before @squid2 finishes doing his thing.

I'm not sure why. I'll take a look but I'm pretty sure all the FM radio stuff is in the qcom318-32 tree so I thought since it's working on my E4 plus it was on perry also. I had someone testing on perry who was also asking for that working and I was under the impression it was working, but I'll check it out asap.
Edit: I'm sorry. My testers didn't say anything and I just looked again and see what's wrong. I'll have another build up that should have it working in a few hrs or so. I apologize, I've got a baby coming on the 26th on the brain.

@mn1968 flash this zip. It should get the FM radio working for you. Let me know please.

If you were patient and waited a fee minutes or so you should have data. If it doesn't work let me know and I'll remove it.
Edit: I've had numerous users test it that told me it works

If your trying to use it with Sprint or Boost in the US it should work. You said you tried another sim card. Let me guess, your trying to use it on a GSM network in India or something like this user

It's not supposed to be but I'll try to make it work. I'm making another build without all the CDMA LTE fixes and hopefully it will work. I'm not sure I even want to do this but I'll try. I don't get why people think a CDMA phone bought in the US will work on GSM. As soon as it's done and uploaded I'll post a link.

Great work!!! Do you have a local manifest that I can use to build this myself?
Thanks.
Also I have a issue on my current lineage 14.1 perry build that all call audio is through the speaker and is very loud.
Any idea for quick fixes? I checked the mixer_paths and other 2 xml files in /system/etc and they look right.
Any ideas?

My build posted in the op? If so, there is one audio file I can try adding. Actually, here's a zip you can try flashing.
Edit: manifest

If your running someone else's build which I'm pretty sure you are because I fixed that problem you'll need to flash the zip titled E4_audio_fix

Q&A for [4.4.4][CDMA]Snake's Venom 4.4.4 Moto X Port Build #102 For XT1080/M/1030
Some developers prefer that questions remain separate from their main development thread to help keep things organized. Placing your question within this thread will increase its chances of being answered by a member of the community or by the developer.
Before posting, please use the forum search and read through the discussion thread for [4.4.4][CDMA]Snake's Venom 4.4.4 Moto X Port Build #102 For XT1080/M/1030. If you can't find an answer, post it here, being sure to give as much information as possible (firmware version, steps to reproduce, logcat if available) so that you can get help.
Thanks for understanding and for helping to keep XDA neat and tidy!
problems with quicksettings
flashed this last night and again just now both time quick settings will not work. the button is there but they will never show up. Only the notifications will pull down. any ideas? nevermind
I have been using motorola droid mini x1030 and I am unable to use 3G service. I am from Pakistan and when I try to install 3G service from my carrier, my device says this phone does not support 3G. I think this is by verizon so I should install the custom rom to make it international version.
I tried to change the network setting from GSM to UMTS and my signal and service gone.
Should I install this rom to unable 3G service?
Was able to get a logcat going for the 5ghz WiFi problem.
What happens is I can see the network, add it, then once I press connect it does nothing.
Some times it shows as Not in range.
https://www.dropbox.com/s/ijr9stwk6f31jgj/5ghzwifi.txt?dl=0
Toward the middle and bottom is where most of the errors are displayed.
I repeatedly tried to connect even trying to toggle WiFi, set only to 5ghz, and forget and re-add the network.
Where you see it attempting to connect to "NETGEAR36-5G" is a network that just showed up (and I do not know the password) after attempting to connect to my network "GoldCat-5G".
Seems like it could be a wpa_supplicant problem not sending the password correctly? My router is set to WPA2 AES.
I flaahed port #102 to my Droid MAXX and I love the rom. Best one I've had so far. Excellent battery life and very smooth. Only issue I'm having is that my camera isn't working. Whenever I open the camera app, it freezes and says "Please restart camera". Am I the only one with this problem? I searched the thread and couldn't find any info on it.
Loading Snake's Venom 4.4.4 Moto X Port on the Droid Mini
I loaded this port on my Droid Mini last night and all went well. Topsnake you are the best. I found step 10 in your guide a little confusing. I ended up loading 4.4.4_Display_Tether_Patch__Build_102.zip and 4.4.4-XT1030_Patch_Build_102.zip. Is this correct?
One of the things I love about this project is that you keep improving it. So here is suggestion, including a readme with your install steps and a description of all the included files would be a real plus for those who are new to loading Android ROMs.
Again, thanks for all your hard work

Bluetooth not working
I did the snake's venom to my wife's and my droid maxx. It works great on my phone but on hers the bluetooth will work like 1 out of 100 times and then just cut off. It has worked flawlessly for over a year. Needless to say I am in the doghouse now cause "I broke her bluetooth". Please help. I have tried clearing, reseting, going back to 4.4.4 OTA then starting over and radio flash. I am at a loss.

Here is how it went down. The phone was rooted on 4.4.2 and was that way since the pie root came out. Once the sunshine was available I unlocked both of our phones. I flashed your 102 build on both phones and from that point on her bluetooth was broke. Her phone worked 100% of the time on bluetooth before I upgraded. Irealized after the fact that I was supposed to put the phone on 4.4.4 ota BEFORE I flashed yours. I tried to go back to 4.4.2 but that does not work. I then went to 4.4.4 ota and let it completely boot and set up. Bluetooth wouldn't work on that either. I then went back to your build and still not working. I flashed a couple different basebands and it still doesn't work. When it does work it's for a very brief amount of time.

CDMA compatible (Thanks @mightysween )
I don't think Paranoid Android needs much of an explanation.
For now there are not many features.
its stable enough for a daily driver
I'll continue support until officials start rolling out for the Moto G

We can round up plenty of CDMA testers.
Pretty sure data will not work due to SIM dependency (subId being set to -1)... it will say "NO SIM" and not allow data despite pulling PRL, MIN/MDN and registering on the network.
It was fixed to work with CM12 (now various builds) and also the Boost soak test... so it can be done!
I will download and test/logcat this build just so you can take a look and decide if it is something you have time to tackle. Thanks!
UPDATE: well, scratch that... 3G works just fine (xt1031 on PagePlus).
I am more confused than ever
Data is not working on any AOSP based firmware I have tried, and not on any other AOSP based ROMs either.
Will check out the device tree and see what is making this tick.
Meanwhile, this is hands down a totally different experience than CM12 on this device. Drastic and noticeable difference, in a good way.
UPDATE2: dev tree includes @ meticulus and @CodyF86 CDMA fixes from cyanogenmod... They obviously work out of the box in AOSP. Nice.

Thanks for testing, that's great to hear it works I'll add that to OP
The carrier and status shows "Roaming Indicator Off" but this is pretty normal for Moto G cdma ROMs since CM10. Some people cant handle it though... So, you may want to include that caveat in the OP to avoid the inevitable dozen questions about it
Sent from my Moto G using XDA Free mobile app
The code that ended up fixing data was straight from the 5.1 aosp code merge, so that's why data is already working or should be.
Add some ERI overlays to get rid of the roaming indicator off...you can check my github, to automagically set carriers you have to get a little crazier, but all the info is there.

Ahhh, AOSP... good old basic AOSP. How I have missed you.
For me, there is no comparison to CM12. Everything works better from memory management to push notifications to wifi/3g handoffs. As a result, battery is significantly better.
Thanks, I am finally off of stock 4.4.4

To God be the glory, my SlimRoms project finally works!
Sleek, simple, slim, SLIMROMS. This is the lightweight champion of cell phones! Not another CM based rom, SlimRoms is based off of AOSP source, with custom edits for a smoother, simpler interface. If you are looking for every feature, check out AOKP, or PAC ROM, but if you want to step back into the simple life with your phone, then this is the Rom to do it. Some say that SlimRoms is an almost "vanilla" experience.
Why build Marshmallow in a world that is about to turn Oreo? Well, actually I needed this for another project, but I figured that I would share it with anybody else who wants it.

-Install Rom.
-Install Gapps. - Optional
-Reboot to system and enjoy!
I do not recommend installing superSU on this ROM! SU permission is already built in, and superSU has been causing problems with the rom. Please read the thread for further details.

Sorry to hear that you are having some trouble!
So, is it unable to connect at all, or does it have a problem only when you change network types?
When changing network types, what are you changing to/from?
Have you installed any mod, like SuperSU, magisk, multi-rom, etc.?
What carrier?
Is it possible to take a log cat after a fail? That would help a lot, since it worked here when I tested it.
Hopefully we can get to the bottom of this soon for you, and thanks for giving it a try.

It would not connect at all, no bars. Crashed when tried to change network to any network type.
No Mods, straight SLIM and gapps.

I will try to reinstall tonight. ..

Rom still needs development.
No Cellular Network connection on Verizon U.S. (Kansas)
Unlocked dev bootloader
QA1 Baseband
cid15 Samsung dimms
Edit:
Also tried with PD1 baseband, same issue.

Looks like I'll have to get some logs from you guys. It is working here in Alaska. You can see post #9 where I have LTE signal, and post #1 I have a voicemail notification.

Okay, I see the issue. This rom is being retitled for GSM users with the Verizon phone. Only GSM works, not CDMA.
However, for the brave:
Here is something I saw people were doing to another rom to get the sprint to work. I don't know if this would work here or not. I don't use CDMA here, but you could try to change the build.prop file for
Code:
ro.telephony.default_network=3
And copy the /system/rild/cdma/lib/libril.so and overwrite the /system/rild/gsm/lib/libril.so file with it. Essentially tricking it into looking for the libril.so file but finding the one for CDMA. Perhaps that would work here?
If anybody tries it, it would be interesting to know if it works.....

I have worked to bring LineageOS to the Qualcomm based Moto E4, code-named perry. The device trees I have built are commonized with all other 32 bit Motorola Qualcomm devices with a 3.18 Linux kernel. The intention is for these to become the official LineageOS device trees once we are ready for that.
The device specific code for this device is still very new and a work in progress. Don't expect everything to be working or complete. However, at least on GSM devices, this ROM is stable and functional enough for daily use on GSM devices. I don't have a CDMA device, and we don't even have CDMA networks in Canada any more, so I don't know what the status of CDMA is.
Known working:
Booting
Graphics and video playback
RIL
Connecting to GSM networks, calls, and data
Fingerprint sensor
Camera
Audio
WiFi
Sensors
GPS
Untested or possibly broken
Modifying some camera settings may cause the camera to behave oddly
CDMA support may be broken out of the box
Let me know if you encounter other device specific issues
See this post by @SeanStar to fix CDMA for now: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=75597767&postcount=118

Installation Instructions
Prerequisites:
This is for the Qualcomm based Moto E4 only! If you have a Mediatek phone, don't install this. First ensure your phone is bootloader unlocked. Follow the procedure on Motorola's website if required. Next, ensure that you you have my TWRP installed on your device. I only support my own recovery builds. If you are using somebody else's recovery, you're on your own. Once that is all taken care of, you can boot into TWRP and install the ROM.
Initial/Clean Installation
Using TWRP, wipe system, data, cache, and dalvik.
Install my LineageOS zip file, and optionally GApps.
Optionally install the ARM su addon and/or a weather provider downloaded from the LineageOS extras page.
Reboot into your fresh installation of LineageOS.
If you want GApps, you MUST install the same time as the initial OS installation. Else, you will need to wipe data and start again.
Upgrading:
When upgrading from a previous version of my own LineageOS builds, dirty flashing should be fine unless I say otherwise. Just install the LineageOS zip over an existing installation. There is no need to reinstall GApps.
Edit: disregard, jumped the gun and didn't read full post lol

Write the two XML files to /system/etc/. One way to do this would be to mount /system in TWRP, then ADB push the files to /system/etc/.

Those apns are pretty old, you brought back some Moto G falcon memories with that zip, lol. Anyway, the zip isn't quite compatible with this device and the apns are pretty different than what they should be. Unfortunately I haven't been able to get the stock apns even working at all. I have full signal bars and can get the carrier to read sprint or boost, but just can't get it to connect. So I think it may be just a matter of getting the apns right, otherwise it may not be reading the sim card right. It does say please insert a sim card on the initial setup so that may be it.

I think I may have figured it out. I need any one with other devices with cdma carriers that are rooted to use a terminal emulators and open it then type "su" (no quotation marks) then type "getprop" and copy and past the output to a text file and upload it for me so I can make sure it's working for everyone.

Resurrection Remix is a full featured, stable custom ROM. It is combined with the best features of most open source ROMs.
If you are coming from stock Nougat: Install TWRP and factory reset. Then, flash the ROM.
Otherwise, if you are coming from another custom ROM (such as Lineage), boot into TWRP and wipe the Data, System, Cache, and Dalvik partitions. Then, flash the ROM.

Data
Using a MetroPCS variant (assuming all of these models are) and trying to go ATT on it. The NXTGENPHONE APN did not work and even with tweaks no dice. Im now installing build 2 and will MANUALLY add the APN to see if this makes a difference. If it helps anyone, I am near T-Mobile towers so it may be a GSM / CDMA / LTE issue?
Note, the stock rom when unlocked but not rooted had data prior to RR.

I tried another image and found the same issue. The same premade APN settings in both roms have a issue (of some sort) in the "ATT NXTGENPHONE" option. I just wanted to update and report there may be a issue with the settings for NXTGENPHONE on these roms to anyone having issues in their area.
I'm not sure about any one else but after a few days I am now experiencing more lag than normal. And it only seems to happen with this rom. Lineage was flawless. Aokp was good as well. Another thing that I noticed was the read write cache for the SD card is set at 128kb as i just found out this makes for super slow transferring from computer to SD card. Also for me the SD card was set to read only. I had to use my file manager to enable write access to the SD card so that I could transfer files.

there are some issues that need to be ironed out.a good solution to help tweak out the lag issue is crossbreeder with addon 2.
dont use addon 1 because it apparently causes bootloop.
apart from that this rom is by far my favorite.

I don't think the AT&T APN works well. My advice is to try and reset the APN settings and see if it works.

The high ram usage seems to be a result of all of the tweaks added to the ROM. This should be rectified, soon.
About your SD card issue, I haven't experienced this myself, as I use the internal storage over the external. I will definitely look into this, however.

Been using build 3 about a week now. Battery is good. I'm using greenify beta on magisk and that's it so far. Just wanted to make a post here and say this runs very well! Seems for me the 64 bit roms have not as good battery life as these 32s but this has been good for me. I guess I'll be buying another device soon but I will keep this phone. It's been a damn good device being from 2106 and all... Development is no doubt the reason why this and many other of our beloved devices have been so good. Stock sucks imo. Cheers.
Next is update
When will the 8.1.0 is update come, I totally look forward to seeing this becoming a Oreo update along with maybe a little bit new features but idk what other features may get added, have the community who loves this os decide the features
