Let's prevent Xiaomi from removing the hide notch option from miui10 - Xiaomi Poco F1 Guides, News, & Discussion

I opened a theme on miui.com to ask and at the same time complain about why poco team has removed the hide notch option from the "full screen" menu on the pie android betas, now also in public beta 8.11.15
To those who are interested in recovering that option, use it or want it back I would like you to participate in the thread by answering so that they take note or at least respond:
http://en.miui.com/thread-4538302-1-1.html
http://en.miui.com/thread-4538302-1-1.html
I know some will think it is absurd because it can be provisional , but this also happens in the betas of android 9 in mi8 and those are open and public betas in this last months and not so I do not have a good hope that the option will not return be that we complain.
PS: I have personally used this option for months and now they retire it from us, according to miui.com and a survey that 50% of users hide notch because they do not like it, I think it's unfair that Xiaomi removes this without justification
you can also complain about the app comments in miui for feedback this problem
Thank you very much and greetings

I think it will be back in the stable version.

No, it is not back in stable version. We should complain.

Which Android Bootloader?

Okay chaps and chappesss I am gearing up for my foray into the Android dual-boot wilderness and trying to get stuff sorted.
Whilst still trying to finalise the Android build I wish to use I wanted to clarify BootLoader.
I know of:
-JMZ (the free v4 one!)
-Exceller
-mkskip's
I know with the JMZ I can also use to install Android on first use.
Do the other 2 do that as well?
Does any one offer an advantage in terms of battery life over the other 2 (in the way they load android relative to extent of WinMo still active underneath - if you get what I mean?)
Any major reasons or other features to suggest one over the other?
I like the idea of having a WinMo button to load into Android as per mksip rather than having to power-off and select on start-up (don't know if Exceller does that as well though )
Any others I should consider instead?
Thanks
this is my favorite one

Android 8.0

So with the release of Android 8.0 for the likes of the pixel & Nexus devices, Let's see if HMD Global can beat the likes of Samsung , Sony, HTC, Huawei , With updating its line of devices first, As we are pretty much stock Android afterall so shouldn't be difficult or take to long in my opinion ,
Drop your thoughts and any news below , Welcome Back Nokia! [emoji106]

AOSP Rom?

Hi all
Simple as the title suggests.
How do we get AOSP on our devices?
Are there any devs on other forums that are working on this, since the P20 is Treble compatible?
Right now, the only caveat for me would be losing hw support for the camera.
Peace ✌?
Patience.
We barely have an almost fully working recovery. The device is still new. There isn't much development going on yet.
True...
On the same general topic;
Does anyone know if Huawei has a site, or policy in place to address AOSP/Android license compliance questions?
My thought is that I would like to find a source of information or development team that could maybe answer open source questions regarding their hardware.
I personally feel that Huawei would benefit from an openness towards the dev community...
Maybe Project Treble is the only hope.
This AOSP is work.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/pr...-development/experimental-phh-treble-t3709659
Bug list is https://github.com/phhusson/treble_experimentations/wiki/Huawei-P20-(EML-L29)
developer is doing a new version where bugs should be fixed. It pays to wait. But the ROM is booting, it has serious errors, see the link above.
How come i never see the p20 on any treble supported devices list. Only the p20 pro an lite?

Considering the number of sold units, it's nothing. Also, most of the bricks are from users tinkering with their roms without any knowledge of the matter on hand.
I would prefer they take up rock collecting instead of flashing highly complex pieces of consumer electronics.

If you have a way to make use of the guarantee, make use of it, otherwise you would have to find a microsoldering workshop to do a "rework" to the SoC (RAM memory + CPU + ROM memory)
My phone also happen to be like this. But it is not dead.If this happen,it just will restart my phone

Question security app update --> SOT is gone

after the update (09.05.) of the security app,
the screen on time is gone at the battery stats!!!
therefor is "Ruhezustand" (sorry don´t know in english) with wrong stats
I deinstalled the update and the sot is back
anyone else has this problem, or even better a solution???
hibernate, hibernation; to rest, to idle.
A bear hibernates in the winter. English is not an easy language...
Go with whatever runs best.
They just confirmed that SoT is gone

hope not forever,
if enough people complain about that,
maybe they bring it back in the next update
Also, is not showing Android System and before it was at 2º or 3rd place
What if you dont update the Security app? And if you did, just uninstall it? Is it affected by the big actual system updates?
the last apk that shows the sot, and works without problems for me,
is Xiaomi Security 7.7.2-230407.1.3 (arm64-v8a + arm-v7a)
I´ll wait if the sot comes back in future updates,
until I stay by this version
