Is there any good application that is an alternative app functioning as the photosphere feature? only saw the app photosynth by microsoft for wp8 and ios, not for android, well, generally my question is:
If there's a app, where can i find it?
If no, do i have to root my device?
If i have to root my device for getting the feature, is wiping the phone essential?
If there's a need or risk to wipe to phone, is there any backup tools that is available?
(that backups everything, apps, data, text messages for viber, everything)
Once i rooted my phone, what should i do next?

This app is the closest to photosphere by google. Only working ap I found that takes a complete sphere. Play store has it. No root required. As for backup purposes, titanium backup is awesome

Should work only for Android 4.2 and up, I've to got HTC Desire 500 and it it's not compatible with it sadly

Its not flashy and as cool looking but does the work. A bit manual. Give it a go though

It doesn't show up in playstore for men, nor the google camera app :/
EDIT: Found out why, the app requires a gyro sensor, and HTC Desire 500 doesn't have one.

I've got it working without the gyro sensor on my phone. If you don't find it in play store, google for an apk!
I'm re-listing all the apps that support immersive panorama of full sphere
1. 360 panorama - this works with android 2.3 and above. Needs a good processor, at least 1ghz dual core, or it will be laggy as hell. No gyro needed.
2. Crystal pic sphere - Works with jelly bean and above. Does not really need a gyro sensor. U need to manually click the pics
3. Focal - Works with android 4.2 and above, Needs a gyro
4. Google camera- Works with android 4.4. Needs a gyro
5. Camera + Gallery apk stripped from nexus , available on google search. works with jelly bean. Needs gyro.

1. Pano stitch for manually stiching pictures clicked earlier into a full panorama
2.Panorama: 360 by TeliportMe does a 360 degree horizontal panorama but not the sky and the ground
3. Photaf Panorama: Same as above.

Some time passed and maybe the list here can be updated?
Looking for the apps menationed here, they either dont exist or they cannot compete with Google Camera Photosphere or Samsungs Surround

Youtube, play music, camera works here. (they don't look different though).
I just installed Google Play services 5, and google now and GoogleHome from the links and it works. There no any visible change on galaxy S GTI9000
Can some one else host the files? OP's account is temporarily disabled.

Mine woks perfect frontal camera. Whatsapp versión 2.18.248 in china model phone. Firmware 1.18.4 [emoji1360]

Go to settings-->More settings-->Applications-->All-->Whatsapp-->Permissions and see if camera permission is checked. If not, just do it !

I have global version and front camera not working.
I also have the global version with the latest update and all possibles permissions, but the front camera does not open on Whatsapp. If someone has a solution it's nice
Global version, latest whatsapp and firmware. Front camera is coming up nice and smooth. I gave all permissions when asked for.
Maybe re-install whatsapp?

It's still not working for me
Front camera popup not working for me till this date for whatsapp & facebook both. While it's working fine for instagram & duo.
All app permission given and updated to latest version for app & phone it self.
Need a solution. Tried clearing data & cache for both the apps as well reinstalled both but no help.

You need to go into settings---more settings---applications---turn on the front camera and check it out.

Note 20 utra 5g When I open the Camera app, the phone immediately restarts I tried the camera test and it worked without a problem (Samsung members test) And I tried other photography apps and the camera worked fine, the problem only appears when I open the official Samsung camera app

Yes it is the Samsung camera app
I do factory reset and hard reset and the camera still not working
Do a LOGCAT to get the reason why Camera app isn't working.
That looks like hardware problem and I don't think you can do anything about it to be honest.
Did you try with some camera application from Play Store?

can anybody share me gcam apk for redmi note 6 pro coz I am not finding any suitable working version even after enable camera 2 API when I start the app the photo mode portrait mode and other mods doesn't work only video mode works
