SM-R760 Fast battery drain problem! (The battery changed, but no solution) - Samsung Gear S3

Hi All users,
I bought the watch in October 2017. Model RM-760. The charge was going very badly for the last one month. The charge of my watch was only going for half a day. I took it to an authorized service center (in Istanbul/TURKIYE). They changed the battery. They didn't get paid. Changed battery by warranty. But the problem continues. I turn on the watch at 6:00 am while it on full charge. Battery charge ends in the afternoon at 17:00 . Software version 3.0.0.2. The charge decreases by 10% - 15% within one hour.
Very bad situation.
I'm researching other brand watch to buy.

Hi, i have same problem, how to fix this problem?

Working great after replacing battery
I had horrible battery life for quite some time. I went ahead and did the upgrade to Tizen 4 hoping it would be better, but it got worse. Finally I couldn't get the watch to remain working - it would just shut down. I figured it was a failed battery and bought a new one on eBay. The new battery worked wonders. My watch lasts all day (6:30 am to 5:00 pm) with 75-80% battery remaining. So, I don't know if your tech experts really did change the battery? It's not for the faint of heart - special screws and tiny ribbon cables - I mean tiny. I didn't expect my watch to work at all, but it did and is better than new.
Hope this helps and good luck.

Please put your watch on airplane mode for at least 3-4 hours and see if you get drain. If there's no drain, Could be your phone that something changed....

And battery drain problem has been solved.
Hi,
Samsung authorized service replaced my watch's motherboard from warranty.
And battery drain problem has been solved.

HTC s640 Battery Issues?

Hi Folks,
My s640 seems to have developed an issue with the battery. It will get to about 50% and stay there for most of the day then suddenly I get the low and critical warnings, then off. The warnings then off sequence happens within about 10 seconds of getting the first warning. On one occasion I got the low and critical warnings, but then the phone reported 268% battery remaining.
Is/has anyone else experienced this issue or anything similar? I'm wondering if it is the phone or the battery.
Thanks.
I am having the same trouble.
I'll fully Charge my battery and then disconnect it and us it for about 10 minutes and suddenly it will drop my call, turn off my bluetooth and disable the radio (network), and if I don't plug it in, within 30 seconds it shuts off. If I remove the battery, hold the power button for 5 seconds and the put the battery back in and turn it on then I have my battery shows 90+% free.
I'm not sure if it's the battery or the phone.
have you tried running the battery till it won't turn on the phone. Then charging it up again?
maybe a hard reset may help?

Yes I too am having this issue since rom upgrade so is a friend, he just purchased new battery from Telus but they shipped wrong one. Will update if new battery resolves his issues. I went throught three phones with brand new battery they all did same thing Battery is not HTC 20 dolllar aftermarket one (just before warranty expired). Have gotten 400 credit for new phone but nothing like this one out there except Touch Pro Diamond and I hear even with new battery that phone battery life is too short to last through day. Get feeling Telus broke something in software with Rom update used to be when phone battery was expiring a red light would blink (opposite of blue tooth light) now it is only notifications from WM that phone battery is critically low and shuts of radio etc. yet you plug phone in and it's charged 10 minutes later makes no sense. Rechargable batteries voltage change with charge the interesting thing when I pull my battery the voltage is the same charged or just after error messages (I have a very expensive True RMS Voltmeter from work that has been calibrated in last year) but without load this isn't an accurate test. Does make me think something is not right and beleive it software related for more see my post in Howrds Forums under phone model.
I am having the same issue after the ROM update, not sure if it's the cause. Already replaced a battery on warranty for not holding charge. But now I have had the phone over a year so telus wants me to buy a battery for $80. I know based on this information i'll be wasting my money.
i want stuff to work for more than a year what the hell is money good for?
any fixes or updates wether the new battery helped??
I replaced the battery on my phone and these odd issue I was having are gone guess we have to face the fact that you need to purchase a replacement once a year hopefully it will last a year my problems start just short of a year.
I just got my new battery from here http://www.longlast-battery.com/productCart/pc/viewPrd.asp?idcategory=0&idproduct=17483
I will post after I get it full charged and try it for a day or two
where did you get yours from?
well the battery didn't even last an hour on the way to work.
#1 it was similar but 2-3mm shorter than the OEM and barely touched the contacts on the phone.
#2 charged overnight ok and said 100% charged then withing 20min it said low battery then died shortly after
#3 would not charge a second time (on 2 of my wall chargers, two usb and 1 car charger) Just the red light would light up. Tried jiggling the battery but nothing not even a flashing red light.
so much for a battery bought from the US. Waiting for RMA

I purchased a battery from E-bay and it would not charge at all. Existing charge in battery was enough for me to know that my issues were battery related after all as phone lasted for quite awhile. Tried charging ebay battery for close to 12 hours no go, so returned it for full refund. Called Telus because my calls in were while I was under warranty still but it had since expired they credited my account for the price of battery over a couple of years (1.5 batteries really) to make up for battery not lasting more than a year...hope that makes sense. Doubt I will buy another HTC with todays battery technology there is no reason one of these batties can't last 2-3 years if taken care of. Just a money grab telus/htc on their part in my opinion.
Gave the battery I got from longlast-battery another try.
the battery is CS-DS640SL 1250mAh 3.7V
I got it to charge by turning off the phone and plugging it into a usb port on my PC. Took about 6 hours to charge to 100%.
Won't charge when phone is on which is weird. Even at 90+% charge.
Lasted a full day without charging. That's a good thing I guess. Even when I restarted, it didn't lose the typical 10% drop in charge the other battery does.
I'm going to discharge it and charge it three times to see if it starts working properly and letting me charge it normally. Was a tip someone gave me. Won't hurt anything, and if it doesn't work I can still send it back.
Curious what you guys think. do you think it's a bad battery and I should just get an exchange, or I should just get my money back, and shell out the $100+ for a Telus battery?
Well the longlast battery test failed badly. Lasted about half a day with minimum calls and data use. No wifi no bluetooth. After it died I took it out and let it sit for a bit as the battery was fairly warm. After I put it back in, it said I had about %40 left. Very odd. And it lasted for another two hours before dying.
Now it's back at the won't charge stage. So I finally got an RMA number, so this one is going back.
Hitting Telus on the way home to pony up for a new battery. Getting the extended one as it's only $20 more. Hopefully this one will last more than a year - then I can get another phone (got to love 3yr retention contracts that end early )
I've created a Facebook group to act as a petition for everyone with the notorious battery life problem.
Join the group here, it's open to everyone:

Share your experiences dealing with Telus positive or negative ones.. or tell us if you've been able to fix the problem by hacking the device. Anything at all that will help the people still stuck with this phone.
I have done some efforts regarding battery capacity measurement Just lookup this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=5558383#post5558383

[Q] Battery Dead On Arrival?

Hey guys;
I just got my Gtab today, and when I opened it up and tried turning it on, nothing would happen. So I figured the battery was dead, plugged it in, and it turned on fine. My question is; was anyone elses battery dead upon arrival of your Gtab? This makes me kinda nervous because its completely discharged and I wasn't sure if it would ever hold a good charge again or what.
I ordered it from amazon, so I'm hoping it's a new product and not a returned product and reshipped back to me.
Any thoughts? Thanks in advance
Got mine from woot a few weeks ago. I think the battery had little to no charge on arrival. Had to charge 2-3+hrs until it lit green.
My wootab was totally dead. Battery lasts a good 8-10 hours now. You're good.
Hi,
Got mine from Office depot a week ago. Battery totally dead too.
Jorge
good to know, thx alot guys
My gTablet has significant battery drain when it's off (i.e., not just sleeping), so I assume that while the product is sitting in a warehouse or en route to your delivery address, the battery has had time to drain completely.
My instruction manual (Christmas 2010) stated the battery came with no charge and that it would need to be charged before 1st use.

[Q] Sudden Unexplained Increase in Battery Drain

Stock 2.3.6 with no changes to or updates in settings or installed software and I have been taking pretty good care of the battery in a 5 ½ month old Atrix 2 directly from Motorola and not previously used.
Several days ago battery drain when in standby when from approximately 0.5% per hour to 2.5 to 3% per hour. I did the following, although not necessarily in the order listed:
Bench tested battery at a battery shop – no problem found.
Verified settings and software. Cannot find anything that appears to be draining power, initiating communications, etc.
Pulled battery.
Hard data reset and tested drain rate with no additional software and had same problem as when normal software was installed.
Several deep cycles from 3% or less to full charge. In all cases mV appear in normal range of about 3542 mV at 3% to 4347 mV at 100%, again per Circle Battery Widget.
Broke down and called Motorola and although they tried to be more helpful than normal, the only suggestion that they could offer was to try another battery, which I do not currently possess and AT&T would not allow a short term lending even had they had one available.
99% of all charging is via stock wall charger, spot use of car adapter with appropriate specs when using GPS.
Typically recharge starting in range of 5-15% and charge to 100% as indicated by Circle Battery Widget.
Battery usage in standby shows about an even split between Cell Standby, Phone Idle and Bluetooth each about 32% of usage when in standby. Have always left Bluetooth on 24/7 except when charging and battery drain was only about 0.5% per hour. I even tested for several hours with bluetooth off and this did not affect the rapid drain.
Contacts are clean.
I even use Motorola USB cables both from my PC for data transfer and also with the wall charger.
No exposure to excessive heat/cold.
If anyone has any thoughts, I would greatly appreciate any help. Otherwise my next steps are to call Motorola back Sunday morning (U.S. time zones) and probably order an OEM battery from a reputable source allowing for U.S. holiday on Monday. Unsure how Motorola will treat this as warranty since 1) this phone is a replacement for Atrix 4G problems whose warranty would be expired, and, 2) batteries have weak warranty coverage anyway since so much of that is beyond their control.
Thanks
Same here recently.
My battery life has gotten a lot shorter (and cell reception worse). Most of my 'battery usage' is coming from cell stand-by.
Overcharged Battery
How long are you leaving the A2 on the charger? MTL you may have "overcharged" the battery, overloading the memory in the battery itself, therefore resulting in less usage time from a "fully charged" battery.
Typically, as a sales rep, I recommend my customers only charge their phone for the full 4-8 hours, when it is the FIRST time they charge their phone. typically after that, it takes only 2-2.5 hours to provide the phone with a full charge. Over charging will fry the memory and make the battery hold less charge and over a period of time eventually kill the battery, making you have to buy a new one.
P.S. If I am completely off base please let me know. Yes I am noob, but this info was actually part of my training courses so I'd love to tell them they're wrong. Hope I was helpful.

The phone electronics will not actually allow overcharging. you will have problems if you do overcharge it but you can't do that while it is in the phone.

Thanks but in addition to any designed protection against overcharging I also pull the phone off the charger as soon as practicable after hitting 100% per Circle Battery with the exception being when using GPS which means that the phone will charge very slowly to 100% and remain connected to the charger until the next stop in my trip. The phone charges more slowly on the car adapter because the screen is constantly on along with running GPS and music software and streaming music via bluetooth.
I also try to make sure that I always disconnect the charger before starting or turning off the vehicle's engine. It may not be necessary anymore but that is an old habit.
Happening to me recently, before the battery lasted very long, but the past few days I arrive at night with 20% left. I tried doing a factory reset but it still the same. Also, the "cell standby" is the biggest consumer? I don't know what does that mean...

As far as I know 'cell standby' is basically your phone searching for a signal.
Remove any app that u suspect. If u have installed battery indicator pro, that's the culprit. Same happened to my phone when i had battery indicator pro. Install juice defender ultimate. Works a bit. Clear off d ram and reboot

For what little it may be worth replacing the battery showed the same problem and motorola now admits that this might be a motherboard issue and wants me to send the device to them for repair. They had their level 3 contract tech support review what I had done for troubleshooting and they agreed that the above steps plus replacing the battery had exhausted all possible options that can be taken outside a repair depot.
Those with similar problems may want to do the same and finally call motorola.

Wonderful, I am on my 3rd Atrix 2. Returned two previous because of the sd card reader/compatibility problems. The third one I received hasn't had the problem but now I can't go more than 8 hours without the battery going dead.
Cell standby is normally over 33% and Phone idle is normally at 30% or higher.
This happens whether I leave wifi on all day or turn it off.
Stock 2.3.6
I work from home and I have 5 bar signal strength from my house so there is no reason for my phone to constantly be searching for network signal.
Still happening to me. Today I was talking with an AT&T representative via online chat, and they only tell you to disable background data, and set it to super saver mode. They didn't want to listen that the phone before lasted until midnight with the battery still green and that now it goes red. The guy said that the phone is supposed to last 8.5 hours, since that is the talk time. I tried to explain that the talk time didn't work like that, but no good.
Finally, I went to an AT&T store and inquired about the issue. Since I'm within the 1 year warranty they are going to send me a new battery. If that doesn't fix the problem they said they would change my phone.

what is your per hour average battery drain?

Almost a month since purchasing (Amazon return window coming up fast). Here's my experience given that I walked right into this battery-gate issue.
Disclaimer: I'm a heavy user. I get A LOT of email notifications, WhatsApp and keep the screen fairly bright (never less than 7 out of 10). It has Verizon LTE service. Verizon said this would not affect my battery life....
Week one. On a full charge I could only get about 5 hours. Off the charger 9 am and by 2pm it was back on the charger for a one hour re-charge that got me home until it was back on the charger for the night.
I had to purchase a second charger for my desk during the day. I picked up a third for $8 just to keep in my bag for when on the go.
Week 2. Same 20% drain per hour.
Week 3. I switched off diagnostic notifications, and switched from vibrate alerts to sound alerts. Big improvement. I went from 5 hours to about 9 hours. Battery drain is now 11% per hour.
Zero Lemon needs to make an S3 case...
And it needs a fast charging port. A Battery this small would charge quickly with a cord. 2 hours for 0% to 90% is pretty ridiculous in this era. My Note 3 charged to 100% in an hour 4 years ago.. And yes I know it's for waterproofing but other makers like Garmin and Polar use charging ports with waterproof gaskets.
I was getting about 2 to 3 percent per hour until a few days ago when the battery drain bug hit. At that time, it was almost 12% per hour.
I did a factory reset and I'm sitting at about 1.6 to 2 percent per hour.
I get about 1-2% but I don't need the fitness tracking stuff so i usually have Samsung health disabled and AOD off but location on and wake gestures on. I also have the diagnostic option off since the day I got it. I read somewhere the current battery bug can be averted by turning the diagnostic option off. I get 20+ emails a day and about 30+ texts and WhatsApp each. So I generally use my watch for texts, WhatsApp, emails, weather and Samsung Pay
With AOD ON and use for many things : cheklist, note, memo, notification, alarm, timer, stopwatch.... I have average drain of 3.5% at 4.5% by hour. I'm happy when I have 3.5% but it grow quicly to 4%-4.5% if I use a little. Just but can live with this.
For those who have serious battery drain on v3.0.0.2 (and even have broken sensors such as heart rate detection like me) can go for repair, if still covered by warranty.
I have recently the same behavior as described by many after upgraded to v3.0.0.2, battery drain 20%/hr and it become worse when I found out wake up gesture is not working at all, so is the heart rate sensor as well as steps tracker.
I hesitated whether to send it back to repair, but in the end so glad I did, it only took 1 day and they informed me they have changed the motherboard and replace with new battery (as I told them about bad battery drain issue as well). And guess what, I got back my gear s3 frontier with everything working but on old enough firmware 2.3.2.3 (which is working pretty good, just that battery usage around 5%/hr not that great).
After that I decided to take the risk to upgrade my firmware to 3.0.0.2 again, and whoa, everything still works perfect and battery drain has gone! Battery usage is now around 1%/hour which is acceptable I think.

Oneplus 8 Battery Replacement Issue

Greetings! I went to repair service store and they replaced my OnePlus 8 Battery with a new one , two weeks ago. I have been using Accu Battery for checking battery health as i cannot use OnePlus Diagnosis app. It was showing me that the original battery had an 86% health after one year and half of using it and i decided it's time for a change.I am currently running Oxygen Os 12 C.26
After one day of using, i noticed that when the phone reaches 20% battery it's starting to get to 10% in a few seconds and then it switches off. After another day i noticed that when it reaches about 30% it's switches off. And then sometimes when i charge it to 100% it's discharging to 80-75% in a few seconds.
The staff from the repair service told me that the batteries are not original, they are just compatible, but they should usually work as intended. This is the 3rd battery that they replaced because the previous one that they replaced was only able to hold for 1 hour ( up to 20% charge).
They told me that they will get get an original battery from their supplier, and it will take two weeks to get it.
Can this be because the battery is not original ?
Or Can it be because of AccuBattery app that I'm using?
I could order an original battery from Ali Express , but i have already paid the service centre for it.
Let me know what you think
Thanks, Mike
