Having some issues with receiving calls and SMS on my OPO when connected to my home wifi router, I have searched forums and official OPO forums bit have had no luck finding a solution.
Im from the UK and use virgin mobile (uses the EE network), router is the virgin superhub if that makes a difference
Problem seems to have been happening since I got the phone (begining of Dec 14) but I only became aware of it around new year, girlfriend has an OPO also and does NOT have this issues.
Phone is the global model running stock cyanogen 44, android version 4.4.4
Any help would be appreciated, struggling with this one
Thanks

This has been an off and on again issue for many devices since 4.3 was released. I did a google search and Nexus 5 was plagued by this. There's a long thread on the google support forum, with several OPO posts. The thread is more than a year old, and no root cause has yet been discovered. There appears to be no rhyme nor reason regarding who gets it and who doesn't. I have had this happen intermittently, and a reboot usually solves it. For those who suffer this chronically, the only work around seems to be to keep the phone on 3G preferred. Don't let it connect to LTE.

Yea I found some people talking about the issue on other devices, seems really weird, and yea I did change the preferred network setting to 3g (was previously set as 4g which my network doesn't provide me with) and it worked for a while, however seemed to start again recently, will search for those threads and have a read, thanks for the help
Any other info from people with this issue would be helpful too,
Is it possible that changing my routers broadcast channel would make a difference, could it interfere with the radio?
Thanks again
Still having this issue, yesterday I reflashed stock cyanogen 44 via fastboot method and problem is even worse now, the issue seemed to be every now and again but seems to happen every time now
No longer receiving calls when connected to 3g and WiFi either, only workaround seems to be if I switch to 2g mobile services and I'm still able to receive calls on WiFi
Is there an easy way to make my phone auto switch to 2g on WiFi (closest iv found is disabling mobile data on WiFi)
Thanks, hope anyone has some more info on this
Edit; found a workaround by using g cyanogen profiles to downgrade to 2g on my home networks, but still looking for info on a perm solution, thanks
I´m having the same issue with Wifi turn on, I cannot make or receive calls.
Let me know if you find a solution.
Intermitent issues receiving calls on OnePlus One when in WiFi
I'm also having this intermittent (Not always!) problem of not receiving calls in my OnePlus One when connected to WiFi. This started to happen after a regular upgrade to Android 5.0.2 (Cyanogen OS 12.0-YNG1TAS17L).
I found the solution in forums.oneplus.net. Just search for: virgin-mobile-uk-no-incoming-calls-with-wi-fi-enabled-and-3g-lte in Google and you will find the link. Go to page 3 on this posting.
The issue is related to the fact that calls fail while in WiFi and LTE. Create at least two System Profiles (Settings -> System Profiles). One to change the "Preferred network type" to 2G when connected to any of your WiFI networks, and another that changes the "Preferred network type" to 2G/3G/LTE when disconnecting from any of your WiFI networks.
Hi Guys,
My return to HTC from the Rezound days to the U11 have been less than smooth, it seems. First I have the strange SD card corrupt issue... And now I've got this "sticky" WiFi issue...
Let me try to explain:
So, I'm on Stock phone, straight set up as I got it from Amazon. My Internet bandwidth speed tests around 250mbps on an average. And the speeds remain the same when I experience the issue. Essentially what happens is that randomly my internet starts to "stick" meaning, I'd click on a link, it'll take forever and a half and then the page loads out of nowhere. Similarly, I'd be syncing files to Google Drive and my file upload or download starts crawling ?...
The fix: Toggle WiFi on and off and starts flying again! I haven't noticed the issue while on data (I think)...
I have optimizations off for WiFi. WiFi stays fast on other devices... So I'm not sure what's going on? Anyone else experiencing this?
Thanks!
Haven't experienced it for now on 11.
WiFi was something "messy" on my 10, but all good so far on 11.
Might be some router compatibility issues, from top of my head and without first morning coffee see if it happens on both 2.4 and 5 ghz frequencies and if you can disable ipv6 on your router..

Thanks for your response. I believe it's the Comcast XB3 the big black router with the phone lines and 4 computer ethernet ports and etc... In the background, it might be a Cisco router... Have you found a fix for this?

hi. i have the exact same problem as you but only on the 5ghz band. no option to select just 2.4 GHz band is a letdown. i use a virgin media hub 3.0 CH7465, ipv6 in stateless mode. had to disable 5ghz band from router to use the phone on wifi. no issues with mobile data. another issue, unrelated, is the vibration feedback on key press every now and again.

Thanks for reporting and sharing, friend... I'm wondering why more people aren't seeing this or we just got a bad unit? Hopefully HTC finds out and does something about it... ?
Hello !
I am Naphtaline, owning a Sony Xperia XZ Premium and we are experiencing some of your issues there too.
It looks-like the problem could be related to Snapdragon 835 or Android Nougat but we can't be sure yet.
While our problem are not always exactly the same as you, we can say that it could be possible that there are Wifi issues on every snapdragon 835 based device yet on the market.
So, I made a survey to help us understanding this problem. We could then send the results to our brands to help them resolve it.
Please share this link to every people you know owning a flagship device, even if they don't experience the issue. This is very important !
If there are moderators here, if you could make a pinned topic about this survey, this would be marvelous !

Thank you !
this issue is hard to replicate, I tried doing 20 or so speed tests yesterday trying to get it to fail but wouldn't...I know in the past when the issue was present, I switched to 2.4 with no change...I don't have this issue on most routers, only my home router (TP-Link Archer C7) but there again, the issue is so intermittent that it's possible it could happen on other routers but just not noticing.
Pretty sure I've been having this issue since day 1, but I'm trying to tell myself it's just my router, which it's not, as it happens on any wifi network. Also, phone suddenly decided to drop my Verizon signal, and now it won't reconnect. HTC has no fixes for either issue, and Verizon says it's HTC's fault for the signal. Definitely my last HTC phone.
With 5Ghz, if i go to a room little far from where the router is, it would not work but the Speedtest would show amazing speed. Whereas the 2.4Ghz works fine in that room.
FWIW guys the dropped connection effect is happening on my 2.4 SSID as well... Only, momentary fix is toggling off and on.... Have any of you tried a replacement? Maybe we got flawed units?
I am also experiencing this issue and it's driving me nuts! The quick fix is to toggle WiFi on/off, but I shouldn't have to do that.
I have the Xfinity XB3 router, but I do not think it's the router because I also have an S7 Edge where I am not experiencing this issue. I'm going to try using the 2.4 SSID, but from what I've read in this thread so far, it does not sound like that's going to help.
I too am experiencing this issue on the 5Ghz channel of my router. It seems to work initially, but only after a few minutes, it starts to have connection issues. When I switch to the 2.4 Ghz channel, it works just fine, always, no connection issues whatsoever. I just did the survey. Thanks for compiling this, I hope a fix is determined. I have the US Unlocked version, Viper U11 1.3.0 w/ Magisk v12 and module v1.10.1.
The problem is wifi drop-off. Even though the device is showing a good signal the data throughput is weak. If you move closer to the router the wifi will jump back into life. Its due to not having an iso standard for signal strength displays.

Same here..
For me it happens only with my home router networks (Linksys WRT1900ACS).
I found that this drop issue only happens when I'm far from my router when the signal is below -65dBm and only if the 5GHz network is on 80MHz-bandwidth and 2.4GHz is on 40MHz-bandwidth.
Lowering to 40MHz for 5GHz and 20MHz for 2.4GHz solves this problem completely for me.
Two important notes:
1) This behavior only happens with the U11. With other devices like the G6, iPhone 6s and etc. everything works fine at the same time when my wifi networks are on 5GHz 80MHz and 2.4GHz 40MHz.
2) On other 2.4GHz 40MHz-bandwidth networks that I've connected (other than my home's) I don't experience this drops at all with the U11, even when I'm very far away from the router and the signal is very weak.
So this problem seems to be only between the U11 and some routers on some configurations. Very strange
Updated today on customised UK. Having major issues with WiFi, it connects to router fine but drops out really often.
Anyone else having problems?
Hi,I was update to this.34 and WiFi works ok,but i had the always on location icon bug, many People too i seen, still waiting for a fix...
In on Open UK, 34 wifi is fine for me.. i did a factory reset after install though
It's strange, it only seems to be an issue on my home wifi, works fine on other networks. No one else is having problems. And it definitely started happening after I updated the firmware.
It gets stuck on the up arrow next to the wifi symbol and just stops working. I've tried changing channels in the router but no joy.
Anyone technical with any ideas? I'll try a factory reset as a last resort but just wondering if there's anything else I an do...
Cheers
I'm having the same problem. Updated 2 days ago and the WiFi keeps dropping.

You are not the only one. I clear cashe of Google Play and now everything is OK. If that don't help try reseting settings of your phone. This is Google problem (it is still there on Android 8.1.0) so wait for fix either from Sony or Google.
It's definitely only an issue with this firmware for me. I've now reverted to the previous version, it was driving me mad!!

Is it just on your home network too?
I've found if I disable security on the network it works fine, though obviously not a good solution
Not only home network. It happens at work as well and most likely other ones...
I had a problem like this ages ago when I first got my xzp. I found it to be an issue with the newer versions of dual band routers that combine the 2/5ghz bands into one access point. By disabling this feature and connecting separately I solved the issue.
Home wifi has different ap names for 2/5ghz networks so that's not the issue.
I finally solved the problem i encountred with my mi mix 2s regarding LTE & 4G Bands and connection .
I just flashed a modem.img file extracted from the lasted rom posted on xiaomi.eu
https://xiaomi.eu/community/threads/9-3-28.49842/
i just used this command on fastboot
fastboot flash modem modem.img
After rebooting i got the LTE signal working correctly.
Just give it a try if you have the same problem
Thanks
Which baseband version do you have after that? Which network provider do you use? Thanks!
I have a Mi Mix 2S, M1803D5XA, 8/256GB model, bootloader unlocked, running Global Beta ROM 9.3.28 with baseband version AT4.0c2.6-303-0325_2303_ea9c837. The network operator is Telefonica/O2, the service provider is 1&1. LTE coverage mostly B20/800Mhz, rural area.
After losing 4/LTE connection, my phone does not reconnect automatically with the available 4G/LTE network (B20, 800 MHz). I have to change the default preferred network settings (LTE/TD-SCDMA/UMTS) to "LTE only" or "LTE/CDMA/UMTS (auto) PRL" and only then the phone reconnects to the available 4G/LTE network immediately. Rebooting/restarting the phone also helps to reconnect. So I think I have to restart the modem to trigger a reconnect. If I just put the phone on the windowsill and wait for it to reconnect the modem sometimes seems to "freeze". The phone indicates a 4G/LTE connection (four out of five reception bars), however, there is no internet connection. Again, rebooting/restarting the phone helps.
Also, if the phone has to switch from 4G/LTE to 3G or 2G it does not aggressively try to reconnect with "better" networks. "Upgrading" the connection to a 4G/LTE network takes quite some time.
I wonder why the default preferred network is "LTE/TD-SCDMA/UMTS" anyway because there is no TD-SCDMA network in Europe. I think it should be "LTE/CDMA/UMTS (auto) PRL", again, I don't know whether this is part of the problem or just irrelevant.
I noticed this issue mid-January-ish, I do not know whether it can be linked to the Mi Mix 2S' SAR value issue that was discovered by some French authorities ...
Thanks,
Lars
Being totally frustrated led me to reverting my Mi MIX 2S (M1803D5XA, 8/256GB model) back to the Chinese Beta ROM 9.4.12 yesterday evening, completely wiping the phone and locking the bootloader in the process.
Today, I've tested the "reconnectivity" a few times and surprisingly (?) the phone now works as expected, or at least much better. After completely losing the 4G/LTE connection inside a building (this was also expected) the phone immediately reconnected to the available 2G network and then to the available 4G network upon leaving the building with almost zero lag.
Chinese Beta 9.4.12 comes with baseband version AT4.0.c2.6-303-0409_2210_8fadd5d.

Same on my side - yet another updates and still no luck!
The only solution for now is to downgrade ROM to anything from 2018 because problem started in early 2019 ROMs
still not solved...
even some reported that the issue should not be there when using an custom aosp rom... but i had an calldrop/caller didn't hear me anymore today on my test drive with resurrection remix rom! as soon as i use another phone, tested huawei p30pro, galaxy s10+ or even the simple nokia 81104g i havent had an single issue with call dropping on the same route!
it also make me belive that after flashing ah new rom (after ah wipe) it looks like that it is working.. but after a day or a few days the problems start to appear?!
I believe I'm still having this issue whereas in certain areas I'm losing coverage and my phone won't regain services for a very long time. It's predominantly happening at home which is very frustrating. Has anyone found success in resolving this issue? I'm on Verizon and looking for any help possible.
Hi guys!...
I have just upgrade my OnePlus 6 to last 10.3.0, but I still not able to connect to 5 GHz band WiFi. Also the 5 GHz band hotspot is desconnected after one or two seconds.
Those problems should be solved by this release, at least it is included in the release notes, but in my case it is still an issue.
Do anyone suffering the same problem?..
I did a hard reset the first time I update to OOS 10.0.0.. The other two releases were installed as incremental updates.
Thanks in advance!

Hello,
I am on OOS 10.0.1 and been using 5 GHz band since the update, and never faced any disconnections or any other issue.
5ghz wifi connection works from even since 10.0 release, but 5ghz as hotspot doesn't work on OOS10.

This issue appears to be a plague among OP users, myself included. Since A10 update hotspot on 5ghz band is dead and there seems to be no solution for it.
